Elvis Presley's 11th feature film, Girls! Girls! Girls! is a 1962 musical romantic comedy directed by Norman Taurog.

Ross Carpenter (Presley) is a fisherman who lives out of the boat he built with his deceased father, the West Wind. The boat is owned by the elderly Stavros couple, so when they announce their retirement and intent to sell the boat, Ross has to come up with ways to raise the money to buy it back. In the meantime, he romances Laurel Dodge (Laurel Goodwin) while dealing with club singer Robin Gantner (Stella Stevens) and her jealousy.

Tropes:

  • Asian Speekee Engrish: There are numerous Chinese characters in the cast and they all speak in broken English for humorous effect.
  • Attempted Rape: Laurel asks Johnson to sail the West Wind to Paradise Cove. While they're out at sea, he tries to take advantage of the situation and gets handsy with her. Fortunately, Ross arrives in a smaller boat in time to save Laurel from Johnson's clutches.
  • Celebrity Paradox: Posters of Elvis' previous Hawaii-set film Blue Hawaii are clearly visible in the scene where Laurel yells at Ross for missing their date, suggesting Elvis and his character Ross exist in the same universe.
  • Houseboat Hero: Ross built the boat West Wind with his father and has lived there since he died, despite that it technically doesn't belong to him since he had to sell it.
  • Love Triangle: Ross juggles the attentions of petulant old flame Robin and sweet new arrival Laurel.
  • Shout-Out: Ross calls Laurel "Suzie Wong" after seeing her meet an older gentleman and assuming he's her date (he's actually her father).
  • Title Drop: Happens during one of Robin and Ross' many arguments.
Robin: You're Sir Galahad, Don Juan, and Casanova all rolled into one. If it isn't this boat, it's girls. Girls! Girls! Girls!
