Beasts.

Calamities of Human History.

These entities who'd brought ruin and annihilation to Pan-Human History with the intention of protecting humanity found their efforts thwarted by Chaldea. The Last Master of Humanity battled their vision of the future with his own, vanquishing their almightiness and leaving their efforts for naught.

That should've been the end of their stories.

…yet it seems fate had other ideas in store for them.

Summoned to what should've been a pruned timeline, those who sought to forge the future of humanity in their own image now find themselves protectors of what they once sought to unmake. Something stirs within the decaying corpse of this timeline, intent on the annihilation of all mankind.

Though much of this world remains a mystery to the Beasts, one thing is for certain.

They aren't the heroes Earth Bet needs.

But they're the ones they deserve.

The B-Teamis a fanfic by QAI 521. It is a crossover between FateGrandOrder and Worm.

After the events of Observer on Timeless Temple and Cosmos in the Lostbelt, the seven Beasts of Calamity find themselves summoned on an unfamiliar world, one where the supernatural had receded yet humans wield powers beyond those of science in everyday view.

The B-Team contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas in the web serials, the Titans didn't appear until after Gold Morning, here one of them shows up during the 90s, shortly after Behemoth first emerges.
  • All for Nothing: On two levels
    • For one, almost all of Cauldron's efforts up to the point of the story are revealed to have been this, by virtue of the fact that Contessa's original plan was based on her childhood definition of an army, without any regard to things like morale or strategy, the things required for an army to actually succeed, particularly against an opponent like Scion.
    • On an even deeper level, the fact that the various Parahuman worlds are all Lostbelts only kept in place by Scion, meaning even if they defeat him, they'll all end up dying anyway.
  • Alternate Self: Goetia has been confirmed to be this, with Word of God describing him as being him in his King of Man form, but before he makes his realization regarding the value of human mortality.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Being compared to Solomon is this for Goetia. When Fou/Primate Murder first makes the comparison, Goetia is completely overcome with rage.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Justified, after the revelation of what Contessa's plan actually entailed and how lacking it is, Hero starts to wonder why they never questioned it. As U-Olga Marie points out, PTV shows all the necessary steps to accomplish a goal, and letting others have second thoughts about a goal would be a pretty big obstacle to achieving said goal.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: The Beasts are all much weaker than they were at their primes, as not only are they restricted to Servant containers, which severely limits their powers and the scopes of their skills, the process of being summoned into a world controlled by the Entities has further weakened them.
  • Exact Words: A variant with Contessa's power. While it does provide with her all the necessary steps to complete an objective, in a similar vein to Tattletale, what qualifies as the objective is defined by Contessa's own perception of it. In the story, it's shown that Contessa's perception of an army when she started making the plan merely consisted of "a collection of warriors gathered together under a single banner", due to the fact that she was a child raised among a tribal civilization. What makes it even worse is that because it's solely defined by achieving said goal, it goes out of its way to eliminate anything that might hinder that goal, including letting others have second thoughts about it.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: In a similar vein to Camazotz in Nahui Micatlan, Cauldron is shown to be in an unwinnable situation, as not only is Earth Bet revealed to be a Lostbelt, Scion is the one keeping it pinned in place. Meaning that if they kill him, Earth Bet, and indeed all Parahuman worlds, will be subsequently pruned out of existence. Yet, if they simply leave him be, he will inevitably end up destroying humanity on his own anyway.
  • Heroic BSoD: Cauldron undergoes a collective one upon the realization that all their years of effort have been in service of a goal that was almost completely useless from the start.
  • Mama Bear: Tiamat is this, as when the Titan proceeds to attack, she immediately shields the child she found in the town they arrived at.
  • Missing Steps Plan: After a conversation with Doctor Mother, Goetia points out that their "plan" for fighting Scion is barely a plan at all, merely consisting of gathering a bunch of parahumans and throwing themselves at him. Justified, as a result of Contessa's power leading to a very faulty chain of logic.
  • Power Nullifier: The Titan has a variant of this, by changing the texture of the world around it, it can nullify the effects of certain attacks, such as U-Olga Marie's black holes and Kiara's mind assaults.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: As in canon, the Beasts do not get along with each other at all. It's particularly egregious between Goetia and U-Olga Marie and Kiara and Kama, with both pairs regularly sniping at each other, and in the case of the former, almost coming to blows on multiple occasions.
  • Villainous Breakdown: The Titan ends up undergoing one of these near the end of it's fight with the Beasts, as it's slowly torn apart from the inside out by the souls of it's previous hosts awakened by Kiara's Noble Phantasm, leaving it vulnerable to the assault of the Beasts along with Eidolon and Hero.
  • What Would X Do?: The Beasts find themselves comparing Earth Bet's humans to Ritsuka Fujimaru at various points. Goetia did so in one conversation with Doctor Mother and Kama did when Heartbreaker ran away from her.
