- (Almost) every DJ on Subspace Radio.
Started in 2010, Subspace Radio is an internet radio station that, as its self-proclaimed title proclaims, is the voice of the Star Trek-based Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game Star Trek Online. The site can be found at subspace-radio.net and plays host to many people, both in the IRC Chat channel and in the actual station itself, ranging from kindly, Innocent Innuendo-spouting Yumene to not-even-Covert Pervert Grom, the station's self-proclaimed "Only Ferengi DJ", as well as a Tribble that somehow managed to sneak onto the show as well and serves as a buffer program for the people as an in-between show. The entire station is reliant on donations from the listeners, like most internet radio stations, but is generally well-received due to their DJs mostly being friendly with their listeners and having their own Star Trek Online avatars, as well as their being One of Us. They also have a friendly rivalry with Trek Radio.
This Community provides examples of:
- Audience Participation: A staple of the station, with requests, IRC Channels, and even in-game avatars participating in radio shows and reacting to the goings-on in the game proper.
- Badass Adorable: Yumene, while by far the most... erm... "Innocent" DJ on the station, is still a capable fighter.
- Badass Bookworm: Most of the DJs count.
- Four-Star Badass: Admiral Dinitri Yanishev, along with being a stereotypical Crazy Is Cool drunken Russian, is this.
- Ostentatious Secret: Chad, the Orion Slave Girl, is a guy.
- Stone Wall: DJ Concentus insists that the only true Federation gameplay is this.
- The Engineer: Any DJ who plays the engineer career for the fabrication kit. DJ Concentus comes to mind.
