Before his days as being known as Uncle Grandpa, Browngardt was a graduate of CalArts.
Browngardt had started his career in 2000 on the Futurama as a character layout artist and started acting in 2003 starting with The Last American. As time went on, he became a writer and storyboard artist, notably for Cartoon Network's Chowder, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Adventure Time. He then went on to create Secret Mountain Fort Awesome and its spin-off Uncle Grandpa (with him voicing Festro and Dingle in the former and the titular character in the latter).
In the 2020s, he created and developed Warner Bros. Animation-produced Looney Tunes Cartoons and the short-lived Tom and Jerry Special Shorts for HBO Max, also serving as executive producer.
