New Blood Interactive is a video game publisher founded in 2014 by Dave Oshry, who was previously involved in the production for the 2013 Rise of the Triad reboot as Co-Director. The company is best known for publishing retro-styled first person shooters, a rather blunt sense of humor in their advertising, and a penchant for buying a plethora of joke web domains to promote their games.

- In DUSK, he's the boss of the Erebus Reactor level.
- AMID EVIL features the "Wee John Clan", a secret Wolfpack Boss of tiny Big Johns.
- A shipping manifest from Gloomwood is signed by "B. 'Burly' Johnathan".
- In ULTRAKILL, he appears in 7-1's secret encounter as "Big Johninator". Prior to the creation of that level, he was used as a placeholder for Dave Oshry's statue in the Developer Museum, and Big John's face is also a default level texture for the game's Endless Mode.
