"I'm pleased to be a part of a 'new breed' of models who perhaps don't fit the status quo."

Devon Aoki (born August 10, 1982 in New York City) is an American actress, fashion supermodel, and producer of Japanese, English and German descent.

She's the daughter of former Olympic wrestler and Benihana restaurant magnate Hiroaki "Rocky" Aoki and half-sister of Steve Aoki. She started modeling when she was 13, the same year her godmother introduced her to modeling legend Kate Moss.

Her modeling career really blossomed in the early 2000s, as she worked for prestigious fashion houses like Balenciaga, Comme des Garçons, Chanel, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Kenzo and Hugo Boss – either walking for them or appearing in their advertising campaign. She was also featured on the cover of Vogue in different countries. All of this landed her several movie roles and several spots in music videos for notable artists such as Duran Duran, Ludacris, The Killers, and Fergie.

In 2009, she retired from acting and modeling to focus on her personal life, though she has since made a return to modeling, doing so in various projects throughout the late 2010s.
