Spider-Woman is a 2023 comic book series from Marvel Comics. It's written by Steve Foxe with art by Carola Borelli. The series is the seventh volume of Spider-Woman and the fifth starring Jessica Drew.

Set in the shared Marvel Universe, the series follows on from the events of End of the Spider-Verse. After being returned to life by the Web of Destiny, Jessica Drew is recruited by Spider-Man to help stop a plot by Hydra and Diamondback.


Spider-Woman (2023) provides examples of:

  • Anchors Away: Green Mamba wails on Jessica with an anchor for a bit at the end of Issue #3.
  • The Bus Came Back: Hydra, who had been laid low thanks to the events of Secret Empire, are seeking to make their move here. They have also chosen to support Diamondback, one of Luke Cage's oldest enemies, to serve as their representative in the Gang War.
  • Canon Character All Along: Green Mamba is revealed to be Spider-Woman's missing son Gerry, who has been aged up and brainwashed by Hydra.
  • Continuity Overlap: The first four issues take place during the events of Gang War, with Jessica helping try and stop the war.
  • Downer Ending: The Gang War tie-in storyline ends with Gerry disappearing into the water, escaping from her and back to Hydra. Jessica vows to make them pay for what they did.
  • Gang War: The central conflict of the first four issues, with Jessica helping dealing with the War.
  • Missing Child: After being revived, Jessica's son, Gerry Drew, is missing.
  • The Reveal: Baby Gerry was kidnapped during End of the Spider-Verse when Jessica was Ret Goned. Also, Hydra used a number of techniques to make everyone think Jessica was nuts on Viper’s orders, who was doing all this For the Evulz.
  • Rogues' Gallery Transplant: Diamondback is primarily a Luke Cage villain.
  • Villain Team-Up: Diamondback is being backed by Hydra, which has refined his previously highly volatile designer drug, Diamond.
