XO of the Artemis. Drummer is a former OPA member from Ceres who has a bounty on her head after she pissed off Anderson Dawes.

The Determinator: Growing up in the harsh culture of the Belt has made Drummer willing to fight tooth and nail against the odds.
Ink-Suit Actor: Modeled closely after Cara Gee, who also portrayed Drummer in the show.
You Are in Command Now: Assumes command at the end of the first episode.

Cox

Captain of the Artemis. A former UNN officer.

The Alcoholic: His daily affirmations include Cox telling himself that his drinking is not a problem.
Bad Boss: Cox is lazy and puts profits ahead of his crew's wellbeing.
Grievous Bottley Harm: Can deliver this to Arlen under the right conditions. Namely, if Camina spared him in Episode One, and then later let him have his liquor in the brig.

Pilot of the Artemis. An Earther.

Jerk with a Heart of Gold: It's a tiny heart with one fleck of gold, but Khan does care about the crew so long as they don't bother her too much. When Drummer reveals herself to be alive at the climax of the first episode, Khan visibly smiles.
- Her heart of gold is much more prominent come the second episode, where Khan will happily offer Drummer the first puff of a precious cigar and is generally less abrasive.
The Lost Lenore: Khan's husband was killed during a raid, causing her hatred for pirates. To this day, she is torn up by guilt for not shooting the pirates when she had the chance.
Screw Politeness, I'm a Senior!: Khan is extremely ornery. She also appears to be the oldest member of the crew; in Virgil's medical records, her age is listed as "?".

Engineer of the Artemis. A former Martian Marine.

Cultural Rebel: Maya openly disowns the militant society of her home world, though admittedly, she still gets homesick time to time.
Love Interest: Maya is potentially this for Drummer. The two can sleep together at the end of Episode Two.

The Artemis' medic. From Luna. Has a very obscure past.

Mysterious Past: It's clear that there's something big in Virgil's past that led him to join the Artemis' crew. Cox knows, but isn't telling. Episode Two reveals he's a UNN defector.
- Episode Five further reveals that Virgil was involved with the massacre at Anderson Station.
Team Chef: He's the ship's cook as well as the doctor. This mostly means he invents ways to make kibble more appealing with what little ingredients he can scrounge up.

Twin brothers and the only Belters among the crew other than Drummer.

Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Arlen abandons Camina to the pirates and takes over the ship.
Big Brother Bully: Arlen is the more aggressive of the two, constantly berating Rayen for mistakes and calling him weak.
Small Name, Big Ego: The first thing Arlen does upon betraying Drummer is send out a message to the rest of the crew telling them how he should be "properly" addressed.
Trickster Twins: They're the Artemis' resident goofballs.
