- Bizarre Alien Reproduction: Birth of new nations is often portrayed either in a similar matter to mitosis ending with the descendant colony reaching independence or by exploding into a myriad of smaller "baby" nations (especially in the case of the latter if the birth was formed from a violent revolution).
- Depending on the Writer: The characters can differ greatly between comics.
