Finally added context to most examples, kept the examples where I wasn't sure if the trope fit commented out, and removed a few examples: the Canada Eh example since the Canada Day comic didn't really depict stereotypical Canadian culture, and Lets Mock The Monsters examples since they didn't show people in-universe finding the monsters hilarious. Other notes: I don't think the Mortal Kombat strip counted as self-deprecation, made note of a removed comic, X Meets Y is now Just For Fun and I'm pretty sure fun-indexed things can't be played with, and some other entries I didn't know what to do with

Most of the description was about the Schedule Slip instead of the comic. Adding some information about the comic and summarizing the bit about the update schedule, now that it's definitively finished.

''[[http://www.vgcats.com/ VG Cats]]'' is a video game-themed FunnyAnimal webcomic by Scott Ramsoomair. Rather than directly emulating the TwoGamersOnACouch format that was popularized by ''Webcomic/PennyArcade'', this comic instead does humorous parodies of video games and anime, with the comic's characters -- {{Cloudcuckoolander}} Leo and SnarkKnight Aeris -- via DeepImmersionGaming.

Also includes subcomics ''[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXI Adventure Log]]'' and ''Webcomic/SuperEffective'' (which starts [[http://www.vgcats.com/super/?strip_id=0 here]]).

All of these comics have consistently good artwork (a few instances of re-used backgrounds not withstanding), but not so much with the updating schedule. There were a grand total of nine strips in 2010, and eight in 2017. Add that in with Adventure Log being cancelled and Super Effective not seeing an update in years, you have some serious ScheduleSlip.

In 2020, Scott popped back up and said the strip's downtime was due to a combination of other projects and depression. He is currently working on a new website, and has said ''VG Cats'' will eventually resume, but ''Super Effective'' is finished. As for Leo and Aeris, he is working on a prequel story on Patreon revolving around them first moving in together. The strip [[https://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=393 finally released a new page]] in September 2020, but has only posted three more strips after it, and hasn't been updated since early 2021. On February 2022, Scott finally made an official announcent on his Patreon about ending the main comic with one last strip as a good-bye for the characters.

Add Bringing Back Proof

Added DiffLines:

* BringingBackProof: Parodied in a strip ribbing on video games' tendency to assign quests around this theme, where Johnny Evilguy appears as a quest giver who tasks Aeris with assassinating Tommy Goodboy and retrieving one of his testicles as proof of the kill. Aeris gives him the requested body part, but it turns out that she didn't actually kill him for it -- she just got him blackout drunk and obtained the quest item while he was unconscious.

Adding new information on description since the webcomic is coming to an end

In 2020, Scott popped back up and said the strip's downtime was due to a combination of other projects and depression. He is currently working on a new website, and has said ''VG Cats'' will eventually resume, but ''Super Effective'' is finished. As for Leo and Aeris, he is working on a prequel story on Patreon revolving around them first moving in together. The strip [[https://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=393 finally released a new page]] in September 2020, but has only posted three more strips after it, and hasn't been updated since early 2021.

Disambiguating Orwellian Editor wicks between Internal Retcon, Cosmic Retcon and Forum Speak

* OrwellianEditor:
** Not all of Ramsoomair's rejected comics are in the "Misc Other Comics" archive. In particular, two are just flat-out ''gone''. In the first, Aeris & Leo had their own table at a convention, and Aeris commented nastily on the attendees. Apparently, some interpreted this as a swipe at convention-goers in general and it seems Ramsoomair responded by removing it without a word. Next was the aforementioned ''Friendship Is Magic'' strip which some fans took the wrong way despite Ramsoomair making it clear from that very news update that he is a fan of the show himself. He's also worked in other references to the show in the comic in later issues, so it's safe to say that was just a joke taken the wrong way and he felt bad about it (he did warn that he would do it, though he didn't exactly say why). In both cases, UnfortunateImplications won the day.
** Other times, he simply edits comics. He's removed references to Leo raping and murdering Aeris' mother to simply raping her anally, for example, while he took a giant swing with an axe and cut the vast majority of his ''Splatoon'' comic where he made a joke about the passing of Satoru Iwata that fans found tasteless. He doesn't always announce these either.
