* SexyWalk: This is their default mode of walking, and even when standing still they tend to sway in place alluringly. Every time they perform, their moves ooze sensuality.

* SymbolMotifClothing: While their Equestrian forms don't have cutie marks, their human forms have recurring symbols on their clothing similar to how the humanized forms of Equestrian characters display their counterpart's cutie marks, and supplementary materials and merchandise often use these symbols in place of a pony's cutie mark, including using them as their cutie marks when depicting the trio as normal ponies. Adagio has an orange gemstone with a treble clef, Aria has a silver star with a forte (though in some material it's purple), and Sonata has a pink heart with a blue music note. They retain these symbols on their clothes in ''Sunset's Backstage Pass'' save for Sonata, who instead has a yellow semi-circle with green trim that resembles [[TrademarkFavoriteFood a taco]].

* BikerBabe: She takes part in the motocross event of the Games. Notably, Cinch says she requested to participate in the event along with Indigo, implying she has prior experience with the sport (or at least with driving a dirt-bike); she does decently until a giant plant eats her bike.

* BikerBabe: She takes part in the motocross event of the Games, and makes it to the finish line along with Sunset.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Has frequent, fairly sudden and violent mood-swings. It doesn't matter if it's some light trash-talking to the competition, lashing out at Twilight's incompetence or admitting her team's faults, she always goes from behaving nicely (sarcastically or genuinely so) to displaying a quite acerbic personality, and vice-versa.

* AccidentalMisnaming: She calls Applejack "Apple Juice" at one point (no doubt because she can't be bothered to remember her real name).

* CantTakeCriticism: She doesn't take it very well when others challenge or dismiss her ideas. And when the crowd at the parade made it clear they didn't like her [[HollywoodToneDeaf singing]], she decided to simply teleport them all away.

* BreakingSpeech: Adagio and Aria try to do this with Sunset, pointing out that none of the Rainbooms want her in the band, and imply that they're worried her unpopularity will make her a liability. They also deliberately remind Sunset of her past actions, stating that their plans aren't so different. [[spoiler:It rattles Sunset a bit, but fails to truly break her.]]

* KnightOfCerebus: Besides her actions threatening to destroyed the universe making highest stakes to date, unlike prior villains the consequences continue past her defeat. It takes all of the next movie to overcome the emotional damage caused and they're still responsible for the leaking Equestrian magic causing more frequent danger in that movie and subsequent works.

* VocalEvolution: All of them -- [[AbsenteeActor except Indigo Zap]] -- get this treatment in "Dance Magic". In general, they're given deeper, more distinctive voices compared to their debut.

* AbsenteeActor:
** Doesn't appear in ''Twilight's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise'', despite the book more or less focusing on Twilight and her relationship with her Crystal Prep ex-classmates.
** Even more noticeable is her absence in the TV Special "Dance Magic", where she doesn't even appear among background students at her school. WordOfGod explains it as her being on a cruise with her family at the time.

* AbsenteeActor: She's strangely absent from ''Twilight's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise'', which focuses on Twilight's relationship with the Shadowbolts (in this case, meaning Sugarcoat, Sour Sweet and Sunny Flare).

* RapunzelHair: All three have impressive heads of hair, Adagio's being the biggest, even before [[spoiler:the transformations add ponytails to them]]. At least they keep them bound.

* RapunzelHair: Her unbound hair is the longest of the Shadowbolts, reaching well past her hips.

** The core five's outfits for the Tri-Cross Relay might look the same at a quick glance, as they all share the same general color scheme; however, the uniforms all have different details even between members of the same event (compare Lemon Zest's ProperTightsWithASkirt vs. Sunny Flare's TightsUnderShorts, both for the speedskating event).

* MulticoloredHair: Adagio has orange and yellow hair.
