* TheWomanWearingTheQueenlyMask: Played with. Palutena's emotional range is actually very restrained, always keeping to a genteel or lightly amused tone of voice. Even when holding Pit's dying body, her sorrow is very understated. Moments of emotional intensity —such as when she panics over her Centurions sustaining too much damage from the Aurum— from her are very rare.

* BadassInCharge: Of Skyworld and the Centurions. Her boss battle shows she can [[GlassCannon dish about a lot more than she can take]], but her guards distracting intruders while she charges up proves a very effective defense of her palace.

* EmbarrassingNickname:
** "Pittoo", courtesy of Palutena. He's known as Bla-Pi or Kuro-Pi in Japan, short for Black Pit or Kuro Pit, and [[SdrawkcabName Tip]] in French. Regardless of the version, he hates it. Hades takes it a bit farther and gives him the downright childish name of ''Pitooey''.
** He's less prone to reacting to it as time goes on in ''Uprising'', although he'll still snap at Pit for calling him that in ''Smash 4''.
** It also hasn't stuck completely. In ''Smash 4'', the others actually call him "Dark Pit" when merely talking ''about'' him, but use "Pittoo" to his face, possibly to get a rise out of him (such as Pit greeting him in Dark Pit's codec conversation, and [[{{Troll}} Palutena's]] victory quote against him.) Even the crowd calls him Pittoo when cheering for him.

* HeelFaceTurn: Probably the biggest thing that sets him apart from all the other evil twins, clones and knockoffs of other Nintendo heroes (e.g. [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Dark Link,]] [[Videogame/SuperMarioSunshine Shadow Mario]], [[Videogame/MetroidPrime Dark Samus]], [[VideoGame/FZero Blood Falcon]], etc.)

* IShallTauntYou: During the BossBattle of Chapter Six, Dark Pit appears to have quickly and quietly gotten over his initial confusion as to whether he or Pit was the original, and instead resorts to calling Pit a puppet and calling himself a reflection of Pit's true self.

* SniperDuel: In Chapter Six, if he ends up on top of the mountain, he'll take pot shots at Pit, who can return fire while climbing.

* {{Synchronization}}: During the penultimate story arc, Dark Pit alludes to suffering AFateWorseThanDeath because Pit was trapped in the ring, but doesn't go into much detail; they also share a dramatic speech that may be a case of TwinTelepathy.

* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: ''Palutena's Revolting Dinner'' has her enduring some very AmusingInjuries, and in ''Smash Bros.'', she's subject to the same punishment every other fighter is.

* ParodySue: Dark Pit is something of a Parody VillainSue. He's an EvilDoppelganger of Pit, except Pit is a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} with nearly IncorruptiblePurePureness and both of them live in a WorldOfSnark, so poor Pitooey has just as much to be mocked for as Pit.
* PowerCopying: He absorbs Pandora's powers after helping Pit take her down. Downplayed, however, in that he mainly uses her power to help him fly by himself and never showcases any of Pandora's powers in his boss fights.

* ParodySue: Dark Pit's an EvilDoppelganger of Pit, except Pit is a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} with nearly IncorruptiblePurePureness and both of them live in a WorldOfSnark, so poor Pitooey has just as much to be mocked for as Pit.

* InsistentTerminology: He will have people know that it's '''LORD''' Dyntos, for the record.
* TheJuggernaut: He's potentially the biggest user of this trope in the entire game going by Palutena's description of Dyntos. To put it bluntly, he can recreate virtually anything and everything without any flaws for the most part[[note]]Pseudo-Palutena might be an exception, depending on whether or not he intentionally made her that way[[/note]] and being able to make the copies of what he makes should they be enemies be far superior to their originals makes his actual power that's not seen even more frightening. The Great Sacred Treasure being his personal creation without it being based off of anything else as well as Pseudo-Palutena and the copy of the Immortal Phoenix, are three of his strongest creations and are no pushovers. He even managed to recreate [[InstakillMook Ornes]], Underworld monsters that Pit can only defeat with the Arrows of Light and most definitely with the Great Sacred Treasure which according to Dyntos, far surpasses the Three Sacred Treasures in terms of sheer power. Yeah, Dyntos is by far the most realistically powerful being in Uprising. This isn't even getting to where Dyntos isn't really showing his true potential...seeing how Pit's battle against the recreated Space Kraken takes place in '''OUTER SPACE'''.

* StoryBreakerPower: Potentially. The speed at which he can make copies of ANYTHING, not to mention make them all superior, could easily see him as the ultimate conqueror if that's what he wanted to accomplish.

* GrandTheftMe: A variation happens when she's possessed by the Chaos Kin, while her soul is separated from her body and at the brink of being consumed if not for her HeroicWillpower.

* SimpleStaff: While Dark Pit uses a variety of weapons and is just as versatile as Pit in theory, one of the weapons shares his name--the Dark Pit Staff. Admittedly, in ''Uprising'' staffs are long-ranged weapons, so it makes him a ColdSniper. In Chapter 6 he spends the flight section [[GetBackHereBoss "kiting"]] Pit, and one of the possible fights the game sets up with Dark Pit has him sniping at Pit from atop a mountain with his titular staff.

* BreakTheHaughty: Possibly. The Chaos Kin's threat to eat her soul must have worked wonders, as after she's revived, Palutena lacks much of the arrogance she started out with.

* CharacterDevelopment: Starts off as [[TheGadfly the largest source]] of Pit's ButtMonkey status and, though benevolent, with escalating hints of arrogance when she gets called out by the other gods — her actions ultimately cause her downfall thanks to the Chaos Kin. Following the events of the Chaos Kin arc, Palutena is far more humble, stops teasing Pit as much after he [[HeroicSacrifice sacrifices himself to save her and Dark Pit]], and finally concedes to Dark Pit in Chapter 22 to just how destructive her actions were, when he chews her and Viridi out.

** Most notably, however, after destroying the Lunar Sanctum, Pit notes something escaped from it, with Palutena retorting it probably wasn't important. [[TemptingFate This ends up in her biggest mistake]]: the [[PuppeteerParasite Chaos Kin]] [[DemonicPossession possessing her]] for three years with her soul in danger of being eaten. [[SarcasmMode Nice going, Palutena.]]
** Possibly as a result of all the events above, a humbled Palutena [[AintTooProudToBeg finally accepts the blame]] after Dark Pit calls her and Viridi out in Chapter 22 for causing so much destruction with their war.

* NiceGirl: The benevolent ruler of Angel Land, civil towards her opposition, and as much as she [[TheGadfly messes with Pit during his missions]], she [[MamaBear cares a lot for him]] [[AMotherToHerMen as well as her Centurions]], reviving them whenever they fall in battle. While some of her motives for protecting [[HumansAreFlawed humanity]] are [[GodIsFlawed somewhat unclear]], she still does so and expects them to slowly grow and change. The rest of the gods do hint to [[BewareTheNiceOnes not push her too far]] though, as many of her actions can attest to.

* StaffOfAuthority: Like the other gods, she has one too. This is her WeaponOfChoice.

* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Banishing Medusa for trying to kill humanity? Seems legit. Turning her into a hideous monster beforehand after winning the fight? ...uh, you might wanna calm down, girl.

* WeaponOfChoice: Her [[StaffOfAuthority staff]] and [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe mirror shield]].

* WeaponOfChoice: He uses a small selection of weapons, but the two most prominent are the Silver Bow and the Dark Pit Staff.
