The captain of Palutena's personal guard: he is a young and rather gullible angel, yet the greatest warrior in Palutena's Army. With the help of the goddess he serves, he has saved Skyworld multiple times, from a vindictive goddess, to a demonic entity from another world, to the true god of all evil. While Pit has wings, they're just for decoration. Usually, he can't fly on his own - it's a bit of a touchy subject for him.

* AmbiguousSituation: Why are there no other angels in the series besides Pit ([[EvilKnockoff Dark Pit]] notwithstanding)? Pit alone carries a pair of wings on his back; the Centurions fly with their winged helmets. The only other character with wings like Pit is ''Zeus'' from ''Of Myths and Monsters''. An examination of the original NES manual's simplistic art suggests that the original version of Pit didn't actually have wings and was otherwise indistinguishable from the other citizens of Angel Land, but that his wings are attached by a harness. NES manual art of the three sacred treasures depicts the Wings of Pegasus attached to a harness, which isn't conclusive about Pit's original wings, but several pieces of Pit's art deliberately color the seams of his sleeveless toga orange as if to imply a similar harness. This is brought to an horrifying clarity during the Chaos Kin battle, where Pit can kill her '''by accident''', because she was between him and the Chaos Kin. In Palutena's Guidance for herself in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'', Viridi notes its presumptuous of Pit to think he has to worry about hurting Palutena when he fights her, and Palutena herself jokes that if she was serious in a fight with him it could be a massacre.
* BodyHorror: When Pit is turned into an eggplant or tempura it comes off as this given that he only has legs and can't really fight back. To make matters worse, he can be ''eaten alive'' if he's a tempura, which is one of the only instant KO's' in the game. And then Chapter 18 has him stuck in a ring.
* BodySurf: In Chapter 18, Pit goes from a little girl, to a dog, to Magnus before he manages to reunite with his own body.
* BoisterousBruiser: For the most part, Pit is very confident in his combat abilities and is not easily intimidated in battle.

** [[WhamEpisode Chapter 18.]] Pit's entire faith in Angel Land and fighting for justice is destroyed in a blink of an eye, the people that considered him Captain are now attacking him, and the BrainwashedAndCrazy Palutena calls him a "puppet" and says she doesn't want to deal with him anymore. He gets over it (for the most part) in the next chapter, but it doesn't change the fact that those words will probably stick with him for a long time.
** It gets worse. In Chapter 19, Hades and Viridi constantly lay the smack down of insults on him, and without Palutena to support him, Pit progressively gets quieter with the chapter (but he does get louder when he's asking Viridi if he's at the top of the tower yet).
** And then comes Chapter 20, where some of his insecurities are let loose as Palutena continues to berate him for being useless and naive. When he finally saves her from the Chaos Kin, though, he has to watch as her soul is ripped out of her and she turns to stone.
** Then he spends chapter 21 trying to get Palutena's soul back and succeeds with the help of Dark Pit, and the Chaos Kin wanted to make sure Pit suffered and tried to take Dark Pit down with him. Pit's response is to dive in and save him, causing his wings to burn up in the process.
** Finally, even though chapter 23 treats Pit's SanitySlippage moment lightly when Hades eats him alive, given what happened in the previous chapters, it's not hard to think Pit has actually lost it.
