Ask the Tropers:
openFolderization on anthology series Literature
Disney Chills, an anthology horror series, was recently edited to group examples by general and then by book. There's only 5 books so far, one of which hasn't come out yet so its folder is practically empty, and I didn't see anything particularly bad about having them all on the same trope list.
On the other hand, if it becomes big like, say, Goosebumps (62 original books and multiple spinoffs) or even Bone Chillers (23 books and a show) I think it could get pretty messy as a big list, though on looking at the Goosebumps page it's folderized by alphabet and not book-by-book.
What do you guys think?

Edited by lalalei2001openHarry Potter question Literature
I don't know where the right place to ask this is, but to avoid an Edit War I'm asking it anyway.
Would you consider the books and video-game adaptations as having Comic-Book Time and Webcomic Time? I don't think the movies have Comic-Book Time though, but they do have Webcomic Time.
I was going to add these to the books linked from Franchise.Harry Potter but didn't want to get into an Edit War, and asking in a thread on the forums would derail the conversation, which is why this standalone thread is being asked?
open Wrong spelling Literature
Some troper called offa change the trope Curb-Stomp Battle to Kerb-Stomp Battle in https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/HarryPotterDeathEaters and don't seem he's to going to stop putting the wrong name.
openUnmarked spoilers in a work description Literature
The description for A Sound of Thunder spoils the ending of the work, which is intended to be a twist, though it may be subject to It Was His Sled. Should that part of the description be removed or at least reworded to something more vague? There's no spoiler marking on the rest of the page, though.
Edited by mightymewtronopenNeed help with an article I start Literature
Just started this page https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Fanfic/Iron and am not sure what to do. I know it's below the requirements but it's my first time editing here so I don't know how to add stuff beyond summary and stuff.
Edited by nelsonharringtonopenThe Way of Kings disambig Literature
I dropped a line on the discussion page in question, but those tend to get ignored, so here we are.
Literature. The Way Of Kings was created in 2013 for Brandon Sanderson's book, the first in The Stormlight Archive. Two days ago, someone created a page for a new book by Louise Searl, Literature. The Way Of Kings 2021. So far so good. Except this person then moved Sanderson's book to Literature. The Way Of Kings 2010 and made Literature. The Way Of Kings a disambig.
I really, really question if moving the original page is necessary, especially considering the large number of wicks and huge number of inbounds Sanderson's book had. Normally, the older page gets to keep the title sans date, and the newer one gets the date. It seems like a lot of extra work, done by one troper with no discussion. Should this move be reverted?
openVandalism of the main page of worm Literature
So, I just checked, but someone modified the main page of. Worm and removed an entry on either Shout-Out or Expy that compared Jack Slash to Joker on the grounds of it being offensive to Heath Ledger’s legacy.
Just to be sure, this is definitely vandalism, right?
openexample arguing with itself Literature
The Dune example under "Literature" on War for Fun and Profit is arguing with itself. I don't know anything about the series beyond half-paying attention to the movie and TV Tropes examples. Could someone who does know please fix?
openI don't know how to make a page Literature
How can I make a page about a work from scratch to fill it with tropers
openMore from Unbuilt Trope Literature
(The original entry is two bullets at the bottom of LONG list of "teen dystopia" sub-genre entry)
- The Hunger Games itself is a Trope Codifier for the YA Dystopia Novel note Though The Giver and Uglies both predate it, it started the trend more properly , and has many deconstructive elements, thanks to its author being very fond of deconstructor fleets. After all, the dystopia depicted isn't that much worse than the resistance, the Love Triangle is a ploy for attention by the villains, and most of the second book is spent exploring how the main character's psyche has been affected by the events of the first rather than a further adventure.
Ignoring how it's include as Trope Codifier (But is it? The note only claims it "started the trend more properly", not how it codifies the genre), the fact that it outright say "its author being very fond of deconstructor fleets" make me think it's more of "early deconstruction" than actual Unbuilt Trope.
Edited by KuruniopenAgent Loki: International Man of Mayhem trope page removed Literature
Why was the trope page for the fanfic Agent Loki: International Man of Mayhem removed? The reason given says "Work existed, but wiped from the internet. There is a link to download, but without being certain of the downloading security, it's inadvisable to use." It's true that the author removed the fanfic from the internet but I see no reason why it can't still have a trope page. If a link was the problem, wouldn't it make more sense to just delete the link instead of removing the entire page?
Link to removed trope: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Fanfic/AgentLokiInternationalManOfMayhem
openExample on Anne of Green Gables page Literature
The AOGG page has an example that says that AOGG is a Spiritual Successor to Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. I thought Spiritual Successor meant the same creator who can't use the original work for some reason. I can see the parallels between AOGG and ROSF, but you could equally argue that these tropes go back to Heidi or Little Orphan Annie. Should this example be removed?
openSF and Gender Literature
Maybe this belongs more to TF, but I'd like to ask if there's still a stereotype that Science Fiction is mainly a genre for males, and, by extension, females who read SF would be considered Periphery Demographic? I know that stereotype existed, but I'm not sure whether it's still widespread enough to trope.
openTime to Break Up Millennium Trilogy? Literature
I was looking over the The Millennium Trilogy pages recently, and it's rather hard to navigate because there's not a lot of distinction made between the books, the Swedish movies, and the American movies. I was wondering if perhaps we should separate them; the Swedish movies will remain as Millennium Trilogy, tropes and moments pertaining to the books could be moved to Lizbeth Salander (as the book series is no longer a trilogy, anyway) and the tropes pertaining to the American movies could be moved to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl in the Spider's Web, respectively. Does this make any sense?
EDIT: I see there is already a film page for Spider's Web.
Edited by StrixObscuroresolved Recreate a light novel? Literature
I was checking the works on the literature and light novel indexes, and found out a red link called Idol Defense Force Hummingbird. I checked what was the reason for deleting it, and it says movie007: getting rid of Light Novel namespace...
But we still have that namespace... so I doubt it was just for that. The troper (movie007) hasnt been active since April 2017, so I dont think he would answer a message if I send one.
So, it is safe to create again the page for the light novel, or not?
Sorry if my english is broken, it isnt my first languaje.
openArticle Subject changed Literature
I commented out multiple ZC Es on Magical Girls and then checked the history. Apparently, the article was originally about a 2014 novel by Jesse Brown, but in 2019, Latte Rumor changed it to be about a 2018 novel by Hannah Conrad. They deleted a lot of the article with no explanation. I only figured this out by looking up the author names.

I was hitting the random media button and The Harem Games showed up.
Honestly, I felt like some of the descriptions on the page were a bit cringeworthy to read and when I checked the edit history it seems like most of the tropes were added by someone called Harem-author.
I'm not sure if they also made the page, since I don't think the edit history shows that. Or at least I wasn't able to work out how to see it.
I saw the page we have called Auto-Erotic Troping in Administrivia, and while it doesn't seem to be strictly against the rules I thought it was worth bringing up to see if that's against the spirit or not. Since it does seem like the majority of the page and characters page has been written by someone who may or may not the the author.
