Sorry if this isn't really ATT worthy.
Edited by fraggleloveropen Report Troper?
I've noticed a troper named domino710 has been editing several pages, but their writing skills — for example, on https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Film.Venom2018 — are not on-point. Their grammar could use some work, and they don't seem to be aware of how to properly format trope names. I've messaged them a couple of times and not gotten any replies back, so I'm not sure what should be done about them.
Edited by Arawn999openStock human diet
So, I noticed that Stock Animal Diet has folders for humans. If it was just one folder (since humans are one species), that would be one thing, but it's divided into different genders, ages, and social classes. Should we make a page for Stock Human Diet and move them there, or just delete them completely?
openWaiting period
Is there an amount of time that has to pass before a character is considered an Ensemble Dark Horse?
openEdit War on YMMV.LukeHarper
Sorry for posting twice in one night, but I was going through my edit history and noticed I’m involved in an Edit War.
I removed Too Cool to Live from YMMV.Luke Harper since it felt a little disrespectful, had no context, and we don’t have Real Life or Pro Wrestling folders for the trope anyway. Fox A Bee Nee Own Yes, the original editor, added it back in without any changes (though their edit reason does state they never meant disrespect).
openSafe to recreate cut page for a Cars game? Videogame
This is kind of a silly question, but I'm here to ask if it's okay to recreate Cars Race-O-Rama, the page for a semi-obscure tie-in game for Pixar's Cars. It was apparently cut for reading "Like a Wikipedia summary of the games" and not actually listing any tropes.
Since the issue seems to be that the original page was badly written to the point of being useless, I imagine it would be fine for me to make a proper page for this game. I do have a list of tropes pertaining to Cars Race O Rama. I just wanted to ask before doing anything, per the warning on the cut page itself.
Edited by JoestarRunneropen Edit War going on in WMG/SuperSmashBrosUltimateSpiritIdeas Videogame
The WMG page for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a section dedicated to people sharing Spirit Battle ideas, with there being three sub-pages for organization: One for franchises that are already in the game, another for games not in the game (organized by parent company), and one that's basically "anything else goes, even for non video game characters".
However, recently a user by the name of Leirdo has been repeatedly deleting other peoples' entries and writing in arbitrary "rules" that were never enforced or discussed by other editors or moderators. These "rules" are written as the following:
- Don't Add characters that don't first debut as Video Game characters (even Characters that first debut in non video game adaptations of Video games). (EX:Ash Ketchum, Escargoon, and Christopher Thorndyke) nor video game characters owned by Non video game companies (EX:Kingdom Hearts Characters) and companies that have never been on a nintendo console.
- Make sure the spirit battle references match the characters.
In response to me bringing back the entries that he's deleted in the name of his "rules", he sent me a message claiming that I and other editors involved with the page "should be punished" for removing his edits.
I believe that action should be taken against Leirdo for his unruly behavior.
EDIT: Removed the full DM and paraphrased some of it instead.
Edited by MarthOfTheMoonopenSuspected ban evader
Leedo is a new Troper who is exclusively editing the WMG page for Spirit Ideas for Super Smash Bros Ultimate here. Most of their editing consists of deleting, and their edit reasons made me raise a brow.
"the Zelda CDI Games are not just not canon to the actual timeline nor even feel like zelda games but also the fact that they are popularity hated for good reasons. Also, Something being for fun does not mean it is okay to violate good rules of Smash Bros. So Mods of this website, stop being too strict"
"Kirby Right back at Ya! is an anime, not a video game. Also, Missingno is just a game-breaking glitch, plus is gone from future pokemon games and for good reasons. So stop with the random choices (whether they are for fun or not). Something being Fanon, head canon, or Canon don't even matter to me, you idiots are just using stupid arguments such as "For Fun", "Fanon", and "Fan Ideas" so you can continue making bad choices. I'm not saying these happened nor i am talking them having to be canon although that does not change using stupid arguments "For Fun", "Fan Ideas", and "Fanon" for why you did what you did is make any of bad on the inside. So please stop."
"Donkey Kong Country animated series is a tv show not a video game. Don't tell understand the concept of fanon, when in reality you are only saying that to get us not accept that we cannot always get you want."
I am roughly 99.99999999999% sure that this is a sock puppet of Leirdo, the troper who was hacking-and-slashing entries on the same page for rules that they unanimously made up, and then, when they were reported, said that everyone who spoke against them were "selfish dumbasses" who deserved "a good slap in the fucking face" and demanded we all apologize and be punished. Same pages, same agenda, still calling other Tropers and mods idiots, and their username is almost exactly the same. Leirdo > Leedo
Edited by iamconstantineopen Moral Event Horizon Crowner: Ad 2
I advertised this exact crowner 3 weeks ago, so if it seems familiar, that's why. Reposting to bring more attention to it; ignore if you've already seen it.
The Trope Repair shop has agreed to the following criteria for Moral Event Horizon.- Must be willfully crossed by those with moral agency.
- The deed marks a change in the portrayal of the character.
- The deed is outstandingly evil by the standards of the story.
- Those crossing the MEH need to retain presence / agency in the story long enough for the MEH to affect their portrayal.
- Only applies to individuals not groups (unless small enough to judge each member individually) as groups lack individual moral agency and its individuals can vary in it.
- The deed must be played seriously and not comedically.
- Must be intentional by the narrative and only applies to intentional villains (if they weren't clearly intended as clear-cut villains before crossing they are afterward).
- Needs to be part of a work with a continuity (i.e no Negative Continuity)
Because of this new, strict criteria, there is now a crowner for determining if MEH should stay YMMV or be made objective.
This an announcement to bring attention to the crowner, not a question. Any discussion should happen on the TRS thread. Do not reply to this post.
Edited by Kevjro7openSuperman & Lois page cut Live Action TV
Why was Superman & Lois cut as a TV Tropes page? The reasons stated were "no trailer nor release date" but it literally has both - the show premieres February 23rd and here's a trailer:
openHow do I imput alternate titles?
Some of the pages I have put up, like A Friend to Die For and Degrassi: School's Out!, have alternate titles for their work (Death of a Cheerleader and School's Out!, respectively). Is there any way I can have it so it can be looked up by the alternate title as well or at the very least suggest it (like how Jem can also be searched by Jem and the Holograms)?
open A Rather Questionable Work page...
Found this at random: Brotherhood
The edit history shows its been edited 38 times by ONE user. Only has a poster, tagline, no synopsis or trope list. Anyone?
EDIT: It apparently has a sequel called Adulthood... in the same condition
Edited by RobertTYLopenConversed YMMV tropes on Main Pages
So, I know that YMMV examples generally go on their own subpage, not the main works page. However, I sometimes see on main pages for works focused on media analysis conversed YMMVs listed. I looked at the YMMV rules and the only exception I could find was if the YMMV is In-Universe. Does analysing/conversing YMMVs count as In-Universe here? Either way, I think it makes since for discussed YMMV to be on main pages, I just want to make sure I have the rules straight.

openEquestria Girls deletions
Troper jozi 499, has been deleting content and bullies from ‘’Equestria Girls'' pages without edit reason. I PM'd them about this. Any reason not to just add it back?
Awhile ago, tidowo deleted stuff from the EG pages without reason. What was deleted this time seems different than tidowo's Single-Issue Wonk, but it might be worth looking into.
openRegarding Film/The Hood Trilogy Film
Need help for the work Film/The Hood Trilogy as both of the pages I made for the sequels were taken down before I could add any additional tropes or descriptions and without notice. I also need to create a new page for Film/Brotherhood as that is the name of the second sequel of the film.
openEnough tropes for a page? Music
Trivia is allowed on creator pages. Is a band in Music/ a kind of creator page or strictly speaking not a creator page because of the namespace? Breed 77 won't have enough examples without the one trivia.
Oh, and one's light on context...
Edited by TabsopenTroper with natter and complaining issues
This troper seems to have a problem with natter and complaining. Their edits have a tendency to double (or even triple) the length of trope entries with information that is either tangentially related or even irrelevant, with quite a few cases of complaining. The example that really caught my eye was this one, due to it's length, and the sheer volume of unnecessary information. Here are a few more examples:
