Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

Honestly, the whole thing looks like a misuse of WMG to host what is essentially a Just for Fun page we probably scrapped.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? You're gonna want to paraphrase the message; it's against the rules to post ones in full like that. The mods can see the messages if needed.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWas the non-video game character list cut ?
I was noticing this too and was just about to report it here as well, you took the words out of my mouth and thanks for noticing and reporting this first.
Yes, I can vouch for OP that Leirdo has been vandalizing and deleting other users' examples that did not fit under their own personal criteria, which shouldn't be okay.
Yeah, I feel like trying to impose rules on a WMG page is missing the point of WMG.
There is absolutely no rule that WMGs need to be things that might actually canonically happen.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Though I won't post the message, I did see it for the brief time it was up and Leirdo's behavior is very concerning. They've demanded punishments for and apologies from the editors and mods for not complying with rules they unilaterally made up.
Even if WMG has no real rules, I think it sould be moved into Just for Fun anyway. These spirits ideas aren't really theories but more a game of imagination.
Edited by jOSEFdelaville^ Nope. Things like this get removed from JFF because they end up devolving into straight up fanfic when there.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWhatever the case regarding the content itself, Leirdo has proven they need a good smack in the face.
hopefully people understand this is "a tap on the shoulder", but more forceful
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢^^ It's also just straight-up fanfic on the WMG pages.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?^ Sure, but it being framed as a theory might make it more justifiable. JFF ones have literally turned into fanfics before. I'm not trying to defend the state of it, but it can't be kicked to JFF.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI actually asked Leirdo why he was doing this and pointing out that he’s the cyberbully. He responded and he actually told me “Fuck you”
I think he’s either trolling or isn’t of sound mind. More likely the latter.
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameYeah, this is a situation where we can't exactly reason with them. Leirdo doesn't seem the type to listen.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo I haven’t seen anyone post his reasons, so I’m just going to post the reasons why Leirdo does this.
He said and I quote: “ Non Video Game Characters should never be allowed in Super Smash Bros. whether spirits, assist trophies, bosses, or playable characters, and whether something for fun or not because Nintendo would get sued for various reasons like having a chance of ruining a celebrity's face and possibly career, Licensing issues, and Without permissions.”
This guy is just asking to be trolled which is tempting but I don’t wanna get banned.
Edited by MisterZygarde64 Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameYes, we all know that they will never be in an official game, but that's because of licensing issues and because the developers might not want them in Smash. But saying that they should not be in the game, and trying to enforce a policy on a Wild Mass Guessing subpage based on that, is pure Opinion Myopia. Some fans don't want to see Goku in Smash, and that's valid, but some people do want to see him in the game, and that's also valid. And the whole point of a page titled "Wild Mass Guessing" is for crazy fan theories, regardless of if they have a snowball's chance in hell of being true.
As a side note, has anyone messaged this person and sent a link to this thread so they can discuss it?
^ Please don't troll anyone, not even people you think are themselves trolls or wiki vandals.
Edited by SeracIf I remember correctly, silly WMG are allowed. Kingdom Hearts Silly exists for example.
Edited by SailorTardis Illuminate!Should the non-video games examples be added back ? Leirdo was the only one against them.
^ I think so, but I would wait until a mod steps in for this. Leirdo could just delete them again.
No one said that they PM'd Leirdo, so I'll do that now.
Edit Warring does remain a serious issue, though. Plus, them acting like they've got the final say on what does and doesn't go on certain pages doesn't bode too well. I am in favor of them receiving a tap on the shoulder.
Plus, in Super Smash Bros Ultimate Spirit Ideas Other, it literally says "from anywhere else you can imagine"; this would technically include non-videogame universes.
You all are going to apologize. I can't stand how selfish especially the admins and moderators. You all are acting like selfish dumbasses who care more about more they want. The Reason I delete the Non Video Game Characters sections even from the video game debuted franchise portions is because you should think if that they actually in a real made smash game, Nintendo would be sued for various reasons: Ruining a celebrity's face, licensing issues, and without permissions. Also, you dumbasses are the trolls and the issue, not me. I deleted the non video game sections (even the non video game sections of Video Game Debuted Franchises portions) for good reasons. There is no right to making excuses whatsoever. Also, who in the fuck cares if something is correct or not? Also, the "should the non video game examples be added back?" is a stupid question and will be denied no matter what all of you say. Also, You people are the examples of users who deserves a good slap in the fucking face, and who deserve a ban and block if none of you improve from your poor choices. Either say sorry for what you said and did or you all are being blocked.
See, part of the job of the moderators is to protect TV Tropes from jerks and troublemakers. That's done in this case.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanGood call. Should we restore the entries in this case?
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. We may also want to keep an eye on the page just in case they try to get around it.
Edited by iamconstantineI know that as a simple member it's not my right to decide whatever happen to him or what admins and mods should do, but he seems pretty young so I kinda hope he doesn't get banned or bounced because it would be pretty sad if he matures in the future and can't use this site because of things he did as a (potential) kid.
... Leirdo, if you're still reading this at all, please familiarize yourself with the concept of Fanon. (Well, in this context, I'd normally use the term "headcanon", but that's just a redirect.) Not every WMG is something people think will seriously canonically happen.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Well now they've gone beyond edit warring to physical threats against other users, so that's not great.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Indeed. Something's not right.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I will say, if their post here is any indication, they probably need grammar help before they can safely be reinstated, even if they do realize the error of their ways.
A smile better suits a heroHonestly, I'm for booting them out completely. All they're doing is pulling Insane Troll Logic and ruining other peoples' creativity and entertainment.
We may want to go ahead and lock this thread since the issue's been taken care of. How Leirdo will be handled is up to the mods.
Yes, please lock this thread. People are getting dangerously close to Popcorning here.
Yeah, Septimus implied they're already taking care of the troper. All I did was draw attention to the more serious matter of wishing violence upon tropers who disagree with them, which suggests a pretty big issue beyond just being bratty about a WMG page. It's up to the mods what to do now.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. All I'll say is that it's a good idea to keep an eye on the WMG page in case they choose to Ban Evade. Otherwise, it's out of our hands here.
Let's lock up.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIn any case, should the deleted content be restored? I am all for the removal of their note that bans certain content since it wasn't added by consensus.
Yeah, you can go ahead and readd the deleted stuff and remove the arbitrary rules. Only one person argued for the rules and against the third-party things, but they're now suspended and have no say on what goes on the page.
Alrighty. The deleted content has been restored, and the arbitrary rule has been removed. If they try ban evasion and remove it, we'll know it's them.
^ Unlocking this just long enough to note that they did attempt ban evasion but are now bounced, along with the new account. Some people just don't learn.
The WMG page for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a section dedicated to people sharing Spirit Battle ideas, with there being three sub-pages for organization: One for franchises that are already in the game, another for games not in the game (organized by parent company), and one that's basically "anything else goes, even for non video game characters".
However, recently a user by the name of Leirdo has been repeatedly deleting other peoples' entries and writing in arbitrary "rules" that were never enforced or discussed by other editors or moderators. These "rules" are written as the following:
In response to me bringing back the entries that he's deleted in the name of his "rules", he sent me a message claiming that I and other editors involved with the page "should be punished" for removing his edits.
I believe that action should be taken against Leirdo for his unruly behavior.
EDIT: Removed the full DM and paraphrased some of it instead.
