openText Mark-Up Advice
Where do I ask about text mark-up advice? I know about the Text-Formatting Rules page. My problem is that I'm doing something that doesn't appear the way it should. I don't know if I'm dealing with a bug, doing something wrong I just can't see, or hitting a limitation of the mark-up language.
Edited by WyldchyldopenAnother odd stub page...
… yeah, the kind of weird stuff when you dig through TV tropes deep enough?
Anyways, Bethellium have some context problems, what with the lack of a proper synopsis, formatting, and the sole trope list being a Five-Man Band example riddled with ZCEs.
The user who made the page in question (courtesy link seems to have quite a few issues with editing. Seen here (Bethellium) and here (Crashbox), as well as making an unapproved deletion on Write a Complete Monster (restored by STAR) and making a bunch of really badly-formatted subpages on Thumb Wrestling Federation - here, here and here
Edited by RobertTYLopenSesame Street Complaining and ZCE problems Live Action TV
So, I was going on a wiki walk when I encountered Sesame Street: Anything Muppets. There was a They Changed It, Now It Sucks! entry under The Count that was really just complaining about Matt Vogel's performance as him, which I removed with extreme prejudice. I looked in the edit history, and it turns out that a troper named glitterlol95 not only added this entry, but has also been uncommenting out Zero Context Examples that they think are "typos". Looking at YMMV.Sesame Street to check if there's similar issues, while I don't know who added them, there is an outright beefy What The Hell Casting Agency set of bullets of which some like the Max Headroom entry are certainly valid, but similar rants about Muppet performer recasts are very much not. So yeah, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, (if you can direct me to the right) but these complaining and "typo" issues need to be sorted out.
openChanged Header
On Creator.Brianna Knickerbocker, troper samicable changed the trope header at the bottom of the page from "Tropes relating to Brianna Knickerbocker's roles" to "Pyre, pyre, tropes on fire!", complete with a potholed meme from Genshin Impact. Is this even allowed?

Trying to change the title of Super Mario 64 Lost Tapes to SM64: Classified. How do I do so?
Edited by Siegfried1337openXtreme19
I'm gonna need some mod intervention over here, please? There's a troper named Xteme 19 who's going around Genshin Impact character pages and misusing the Big Bad Ensemble trope for the Celestial Gods and saying they're part of the main villains, when in fact, they're not. For context for those of you who haven't played the game (spoilers), in Chapter 1, Act IV, a character named Dainsleif reveals to the Traveler that the Celestial Gods are responsible for the destruction of Khaenri'ah, which would make them a Greater-Scope Villain at least, but they haven't appeared in the game proper yet to qualify as one of the Big Bads. The troper's edits are so frequent about it that I can't keep up with them. It seems like they're trying to force their belief that the Celestial Gods are the "main villains".
Their grammar is also not up to par as well. The sentences they write are really... off.

Edited by DivineFlame100openWhat counts as a trope?
So work pages are required to have at least three tropes. I have a few questions about what counts as a trope in this context:
1. Do trivia and YMMV tropes count? Those are supposed to go on their own pages. I don't see this allowing a work page that just talks about the behind the scenes aspects of the work and the audience reactions.
2. Do character tropes count? Those also belong on their own page.
3. Does genre count? I remember a discussion last year where it was stated genre is considered an index and not a trope.
4. Do Sex Tropes count? This wiki has rules against troping porn. If a work page has only or mostly sex tropes, would we allow it?
open Troper Ken10
Ken 10 is once again messing with the X Meets Y pages for the Kamen Rider characters, and I assume it is a sockpuppet of Soul Buy proven if he got suspended drom editing.
Edited by ThePatopenssbob90
I don't know if this counts as an Edit War, but troper ssbob90 clearly has some editing issues on Characters.Genshin Impact Liyue. Courtesy link here.
- ssbob90 added commented-out ZCEs of Stripperiffic and Bare Your Midriff on the page.
- Ano Baka Desu removed the ZCEs with an edit reason: "How to Write an Example forbids adding commented-out examples, no exceptions. It's considered lazy, sneaky, and underhanded, and repeated offenses lead to quick suspensions."
- ssbob90 re-added the commented-out ZCEs.
openSkyrim beginners guide
Would it be possible to get a copy of the 'Skyrim beginners guide' ? Me and a bunch of other people put a lot of work into it and like to preserve it in some way. Also I'd like to know what rules it violated so I can maybe make a version that is in compliance with those rules.
openFanmade content in moments pages Videogame
I’ve seen word going around that discussing fan-made content is generally looked down upon in moments subpages. However, I’ve also seen many pages — like the TF2 subpages — that have vast sections dedicated to fan content that have gone untouched. Should those sections be deleted anyways? And is this “no fan content” rule down in writing somewhere?
Edited by NotsofriendlyopenOur Vampires Are Different - Playing With
A few years ago, I made a Playing With page for Our Vampires Are Different. (PlayingWith. Our Vampires Are Different) I noticed something added some time ago:
- Exaggerated:
- The vampires in Alice Vs Dracula follow the Classical Movie Vampire template to perfection, but the vampires in Bob, the Vampire Hunter have so few similarities, they practically shouldn't be called vampires.
- Everyone in the world of Alice Vs Dracula drinks blood, to the point calling someone a vampire would be redundant.
The first point was added by me when I created the page. The second was added later by Mhazard. The issue I have is that it seems to be based on the Trope Decay version of the trope, which is essentially "vampires exist in this work". Would it be okay to remove this bit?
open Troper Ken10
Hey, can somebody observe this troper: Ken 10. He's been making quite a mess on some of the X Meets Y pages (and look at his edit history), namely on the Live Action TV Characters Super Sentai The New Tens, Live Action TV Characters Kamen Rider Reiwa Phase 1. Because I'm starting to have a hunch if it's a sockpuppet account of someone who made similar editing patterns who was already suspended is making a ban evasion attempt. I don't know if this is a sockpuppet of Dahmier 18, whose last sockpuppet account is Dadaku 19.
Edited by ThePatopenWhat's the deal with Avatar and the Airbending Fellowship?
I stumbled on JustForFun.Avatar And The Airbending Fellowship Of Vampire Slayers and I don't understand it. Is it supposed to be a parody or something?
openTitanverse Invalid?
Spoilers for Crisis on Infinite Earths (2019), but its revealed that Titans and Doom Patrol (2019) take place on separate. The Titansverse namespace was created on the pretense that both series were interconnected but it wasn't the case. Does this make it invalid?
Edited by WhirlRXopenPlagiarism?
NOTE: Not sure if this query can be made public or should be private. Apologies in advance if my assumption that it can be public is erroneous.
The Crappy Games Wiki article on Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels has a Development section that has copied verbatim the description body (starting with the second paragraph) of this wiki's page on the same game. Here's the edit that initiated the infringement, followed by another edit which adds more copied info. Both edits were made in April 8, while the text you currently see in our article is based on a revision done last year in September (by me, if that's relevant). The most glaring oversight on their part is that "Hard Mode Filler" is written with those capital letters, signaling that they didn't bother to turn them into lowercase, as they were originally wiki-worded here.
EDIT: Some misplaced verbs removed to avoid confusion.
Edited by MyFinalEditsopenTitansverse characters pages
I edited pages there a few days ago and classified them based on their respective shows (Titans and Doom Patrol) because they were respectively classified under "Earth-9" (the Titans characters) and "Earth-21" (the ones from Doom Patrol) which are Arrowverse (a separate DC Comics TV franchise) designations. I gave a reason in the edits stating the respective properties may have their own designations (as evident in Smallville, which has their own "Earth-2" that is clearly not the same as both the pre and post crisis Arrowverse versions. The properties' respective Word of God also said something similar) but they were reverted back without any explanation.
I was planning on restoring them but, you know, don't wanna start an Edit War so I decided to come here first.
You could view the edit histories for clarifications: Sample #1, Sample #2, Sample #3, Sample #4.

So it looks like a trope called Seductive Spider was just launched. Was wondering if the page image would be seen as too risque or not. Perhaps this was discussed when the trope was being prepared, but still thought someone might want to take a second look at it.
