In speculative fiction, when a character reinforces that it is The Future by reciting a list of names of historical figures, with a made-up name or two appended to the end.
Example: "He's gone mad with power; he wants to go down as one of history's greatest warlords, like Alexander the Great, Ghengis Khan, Adolf Hitler, or Bob."
Real world example, from Arthur C. Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama: "Rama needed the grandeur of Bach or Beethoven or Sibelius or Tuan Sun, not the trivia of popular entertainment."

Looking for a possible variation of Offscreen Teleportation, teleportation than happens on screen but while a character is blocked from view by a passing object such as a car, bus, train or even another person.
Example: The drell assassin from Mass Effect 2 vanishes in a crowded corridor when a person walks in front of him. Blocked line of sight/ blind spot teleportation if you will.

Do we have a trope for using violence to "let off steam"? That is, a character destroys an object or beats someone up expressly for the purpose of processing negative emotions that are really about something else. In-Universe Catharsis was the closest I could find, and I'm not sure if that really fits.

What's it called where there is an arena with gladitorial fights on an alien planet

What would it be called when the hero goes on a Quest/adventure with a specific goal, like restoring their origiaonal form if they've been transformed, but over the course of the quest they come to like things the way they are. At the last minute, the quester decides that they don't want to change back in an epiphany moment? Sort of between Going Native and Becoming the Mask.

Is it still Heterosexual Life-Partners if the characters are the same gender but aren't Heterosexual

There a trope for when a guy makes great discoveries/inventions etc. when the original purpose is absolutely laughable, or rather fails to realize the potential? Sort of like a proto-Mundane Utility, in that the utility is known, but not how powerful it could be.
For example, a guy building a fully functional teleporter... So he can correct a forumite on a different continent.
Another in Flubber, when the hero is in his Flubber-powered Flying Car, and comments that with his product they could launch an incredible line of bouncing shoes.

Say that a character from a Spin-Off or related series makes an appearance in the main series. However, this cameo reveals an important fact from the SpinOff that had not yet been revealed, a sort of combination of Early-Bird Cameo and Late-Arrival Spoiler. Would this be a Crossover if this was intentional? What would it be if it wasn't?

Do we have a trope about the "summer romance": the lovers (typically young people) have a passionate fling until autumn, when one or both of them must leave. These tend to be stories about the first "real" boyfriend/girlfriend, with all implicit Their First Time, though with more innocence and fewer tragic consequences. At worst, both parties will have nostalgic memories of "that boy/that girl".
Common material for songs.

Added Alliterative Appeal is an index of tropes with alliterative titles. Are there any tropes about the use of alliteration? Or would that kind of thing be too chairsitty?

What is the trope for a when a person conceals real ability (say, magical powers or wings) by pretending to be an ordinary person and making the real skills look over-the-top and fake (doing it as part of a stage act; wearing a fakey angel costume)? I tried Needle in a Stack of Needles but it just doesn't seem to fit.
Is there a trope for when you're customizing your avatar in a game, they will look surprised when you change them into a new outfit?
