openSong of the South deletions Film
pino has been deleting entries related to the backlash against Song of the South (many of which just objectively describe decisions related to the film's controversial content) without providing edit reasons. I PM'd them yesterday about this issue, but they have not responded despite actively editing today. I'm concerned this might be a matter of personal agenda, though they have other valid edits.

Edited by mightymewtronopenDC Extended Universe - Individual Character Pages and where characters are listed in franchises Film
I'm confused. Any reason why characters like Mera got individual pages when there isn't much information. What's the line to be drawn for this. NOTE: The fact that there are alternate universes is not an excuse such as the Knightmare timeline to do this (Knightmare is a big link farm). Yea, there could be a fine line to draw. At the same time, there could be confusion about where an overall character's assignment is. One to be careful of is Swanwick/Manhunter (Listed in US Military as Swanwick for MoS and BvS but under Justice League (as Manhunter) for ZSJL
What is the rule for individual pages and indexing again?

openDarkseid as an Adaptational Nice Guy Film
In the character page for Apokolips, Darkseid has an entry for Adaptational Nice Guy with the following context:
"If you can believe it! Normally, Darkseid is utterly intolerant of losing, and will often take out his rage on his underlings who failed him. And if not his underlings, then anyone who happens to be nearby. He will also try to get in one last parting shot if he knows he's beaten (see Dan Turpin's fate in Superman: The Animated Series). Not to mention, he also does not tolerate being questioned, even by his advisorsnote The DCAU version of Desaad met his end after laying into Darkseid for making a bad decision to attack Highfather. Here, however, when Steppenwolf's severed head is sent through the boomtube and the heroes stare him down, he calmly lets the boomtube close without making a move, and when Desaad seemingly gloats that he told Darkseid that Steppenwolf would fail, Darkseid acknowledges Desaad's words, before simply ordering that an armada be readied instead."
I have to ask: is this really valid? To me, this comes off as Adaptational Pragmatic Villainy or something. This is the same thing that happened when the Superman from the DC Animated Universe was labelled an Adaptational Wimp simply because he wasn't as astronomically powerful as comic book Superman or when the Batman from the DC Extended Universe was labelled an Adaptational Dumbass simply because he wasn't a borderline-omniscient super-genius as comic book Batman. What do you say?
openNo Title Film
Earlier this year, Vanilla Flare added this to Children's Party at the Palace under Broken Aesop:
Although Burglar Bill claims that every great story needs a great villain, several masterpieces (My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies as good examples) have No Antagonist, which contradicts his Aesop. Whilst it is true that a good story cannot exist without an established conflict, a good story can exist without a "man vs man" conflict. Apparently the storybook characters never seen what Studio Ghibli makes.
It was removed a few days ago for not being an example.
Not long after, Vanilla Flare added it to the YMMV page, this time under Critical Research Failure.
Sorry if this isn't really important...
openMata Nui's character arc Film
Troper Kirby 0189 added Mata Nui's character arc to They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot in the YMMV page of BIONICLE, with the following context:
"Mata Nui's character arc in 2009's The Legend Reborn direct to DVD movie has some interesting potential. Having been betrayed by the leader of a rogue faction of nanomachines who were supposed to help regulate his giant mecha body in part because Mata Nui was too busy exploring the cosmos to figure out how to repair the shattered pieces of Spherus Magna as per his designated purpose by the Great Beings, you would think his crash landing onto an alien Mad Max-like culture and being a Fish out of Water with nothing to his name would have served for some solid character development with him learning to befriend those usually beneath him, which would be especially interesting given that Bara Magna had been set up as the inverse of the Matoran Universe. Instead, Mata Nui is already a Nice Guy and almost immediately finds allies to rather easily unite the tribes against the Skrall, with his former status as a Physical God being used mostly for brief mentions here and there rather than part of his struggle."
I have to ask: is this valid? Mata Nui is the main character and, by definition, he can't be wasted. What do you think?
openStrawman Has a Point in Godzilla King of the Monsters 2019 Film
Troper Derv0s B 2 added this to Strawman Has a Point in the YMMV page of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019):
"A surprising number of viewers reacted this way to the government's Gotta Kill 'Em All demands regarding the Titans. Said viewers argue that while the ending proves The Extremist Was Right, with what little the human race knows about the Titans at the film's start, the demand comes off as highly understandable. Of course, this argument ignores the fact that Monarch have already established before the film's start that the Titans are ecologically essential, and that the government are basically getting it into their heads that they somehow know better than the professional Titan experts."
I think the fact that the entry argues with itself disqualifies it for the trope. What do you say?
openVoice Actors Film
Halo. I tried multiple times to add his name here; https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/TipsWorksheet but unfortunately, I can't. Any idea of how I can do that?
openThe Snyder Cut has a UN page because...? Film
UsefulNotes.Zack Snyders Justice League is a UN page dedicated entirely to the history and develop of the film. It seems like misuse of the namespace to have a page entirely about the making of one work, prominent as it may be.
I also brought this up in the UN cleanup but I figured I’d ask here too since the work came out last week.
openPossibly over exaggerated example about serious stuff that almost happened Film
So in Vampire's Kiss, I was bother in fact that people over exhausted about the "rape" scene. First of all, yes Peter did try to rape Alva but he stop when he hallucinate Alva as Rachel. Second of all, Alva think she was actually raped but in reality it stopped halfway. So all I was saying is that it was an attempted rape not a full-on rape. So should we fixed the examples or something else?

openBig hero 6 and knucklehead and bonehead Film
Hi! I'm new to the TV tropes and I have a question about the movie Big hero 6 so I would like to have an answer about someone who had seen the movie or made Big hero 6 TV tropes. What does this "Verbal Tic: Often calls Hiro "knucklehead" or "bonehead" " on Tadashi's page mean? (English is not my native language). Isn't those insulting/offensive words ("bonehead" and "knucklehead" meaning a "stupid person")? And I have actually seen the movie in English and Tadashi said that: "I hope you learned your lesson, bonehead" when scolding Hiro for Hiro's bot fighting. Was it offensive/insulting? Thank you for an answer.
openSo Bad It's Horrible-Films N-Z Film
A couple of things involving this page, both involving the user Pikachu 4 Prezident:
1)The entry for Segurança Nacional was edited by another user, but the above user reverted the changes for no given reason. (However, the other user didn't give a reason either.) I'm just worried about a potential edit war.
2)The user also posted an entry on a movie review. I'm not sure, but I think that section is only for the movies themselves, not their reviews. (If the entry has merit, it should probably be moved to Web Video.)
Edited by BKelly95openWhy don't just lock pages of yet-to-be released films. Film
A pattern I noticed on pages like Zack Snyder's Justice League and many other pages of yet-to-be-released games and films is the constant back and forth between tropers who wants to add entries based on visual speculation, Word of God, Word of Dante and/or just stating something obvious only for other tropers to come and delete everything using the justification of deleting "speculative troping" even when it's not speculative or has been semi-confirmed.
Why not lock these pages until the film or game releases? As keeping them open will lead to more tropers adding tropes and others deleting them in response with extreme prejudice.
Edited by GoodGamer14openWrong namespace ? Film
So I found Space Pirate Captain Harlock (2013). Which is in the film namespace. This is apparently an all CGI anime though. So shouldn't it be in the anime namespace.
Alright this is a weird one.
Flubber has a few tropes on the page that do not appear to actually exist/ever existed. The tropes in question are "Creating Life Is Unforseen", "Save The Orphanage", and "Water Gun And Balloons".
Should I delete them? Or is there something I don't know about these "tropes"?
