* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Yes, these are all fictional events and the characters are simply actors and actresses in costume putting on a show for the Queen and the kids, but how in the hay would all the events work in real life?
** Okay, how did the storybook characters manage to leak into the real world and are somehow invited to the Queen's shindig? Was whoever made the invitations on a sugar rush like Tracy Beaker said? Was ''everyone else'' getting hooked on the sugar from whatever snacks they were provided? They never explain that.
** The fact that there happens to be a position called the Prime Minister's personal owl keeper. Guess every important collective in London keeps birds, not just the Tower.

* VillainDecay: Many Baddies, especially the Grand High Witch and Cruella, are shown to be very devious in their introductions (even having some terrible intentions like [[ChildEater cooking children]]) but as soon as Mary Poppins arrived, they suddenly get tamed. And when the Queen herself arrives, they immediately adore her. [[UniversallyBelovedLeader An all-loved monarch she is]].

* {{Adorkable}}: Tracy Beaker. Perhaps the most relatable character of the show, she first appears she has shades of nervousness and awkwardness as she and her friends have their doubts about attending the Queen's shindig, and when she encountered Horrid Henry. However, it decreases as she helps the other characters find Her Majesty's handbag, but is still very much present throughout the film. Not to mention [[Main/{{Fangirl}} she expresses so much excitement when she finds out she's going to present the Queen her handbag]].

* SpecialEffectsFailure: In the BFG segment where Sophie Dahl narrates a passage from the story. Closeups of the titular giant show the actor playing as him but when the BFG is in the background and Sophie, Mary, and Mr. Tibbs are in the focus of a shot instead, a not-so-realistic giant puppet of him is shown instead. Wow, did the BBC spend all their budget on the props? Or the other costumes? Creator/{{Disney}} surely did the better job with their [[Film/TheBFG film]] when it came to a scene like that.

* SpecialEffectsFailure: QuestionableCasting: Harry Hill as...the Prime Minister's...owl keeper? What kind of position is that? Not sure if [[WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse Eda]] would be impressed.

"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* WhatAnIdiot:
** Mr. Tibbs and Mary notice that the Queen's handbag is left on the chair in the ballroom.
*** '''You'd Expect:''' Either one of them take the bag with them and find Her Majesty in order to return it to her.
*** '''Instead:''' They leave it there once time is called, rather than taking it with them.
*** '''As a Result:''' The handbag disappears before the BBC gets involved. Turns out Burglar Bill broke in the palace and stole the bag from the ballroom.
** Horrid Henry looks across a room of the palace for a television set the Queen might have. He thinks it might be in the nearest cabinet.
*** '''You'd Expect:''' He checks for any fragile objects including ceramics, as a place like Buckingham Palace is full of them, before trying to open it up.
*** '''Instead:''' He quickly but recklessly tries to open the cabinet up, making a ceramic vase atop it fall and shatter.
*** '''As a Result:''' Thankfully, no staff member heard the sound, but William and Tracy Beaker did. Horrid Henry says it must've been "ancient".

* WTHCostumingDepartment: The costumes are actually pretty high-quality and have so much detail if one thinks about it, but some may not like them as much if they’re expecting the characters to resemble their Disney counterparts (well...''if'' they have one). Only Winnie the Pooh of all characters resembled his Disney counterpart.

Tastes Like Diabetes is now a disambig between Sweetness Aversion and Sickingly Sweet. Zero Context Example entries and entries that do not fit anywhere else will be deleted.

* TastesLikeDiabetes: Pretty much a given since this was a theatre-film hybrid aimed at children, though it occasionally strays away from this territory. With the exception of the Baddies (which all took on the dark and dreary theme, deeming this VileVillainSaccharineShow), much of the show had a very bright, colourful motif with most of the Goodies taking on bright colour schemes and the very light and playful orchestral soundtrack with many woodwind instruments. Even the masked costumed characters such as Angelina Ballerina and Noddy look adorable at times ([[CreepyCute though other people may as well find them unsettling]]).
** Also when Burglar Bill magically appears from the "Accio Her Majesty's handbag" spell, with [[PunctuatedForEmphasis so. Much.]] ''[[EverythingsBetterWithSparkles Sparkles]]''.
** Also during the "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" segment with the characters from ''Literature/MaryPoppins''. Literally ''all'' the characters look like they've just strayed away from the bucket of Halloween or Easter leftover candy.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

* UncannyValley:
** The Baddies themselves often have this vibe to them, being devious, at least middle-aged characters with a dark, nearly colourless motif. Especially the Child-Catcher, who's a creepy old bald guy in a top hat who hunts children.
** Some of the mascot costume characters such as Noddy, Postman Pat, and Angelina Ballerina as they all have static faces (however, ''if'' they had articulated heads with blinking eyes and moving mouths that would also warrant an Uncanny Valley categorization). It may be a case of CreepyCute.
** The CCTV footage of Burglar Bill snatching the Queen's handbag is a bit unnerving due to the dark environment seen in the footage and the low quality. Hopefully the security cameras at the Palace are upgraded now, with sharper footage and colour.

** Horrid Henry tries to open a locked cabinet when trying to look for a television, not even aware that a vase on top was on the brink of falling off. He should've checked if there were any fragile objects around before proceeding. Buckingham Palace is ''full'' of fragile, priceless objects.
** Honestly, anyone who thought it was a good idea to venture inside the palace without permission is pretty stupid if you think about it. Did anyone even care that peculiar people that resembled characters from literature went inside?
** Also, if Burglar Bill were to successfully steal something from the palace, then is this implying that the security there is limited? Shouldn't anyone be looking after the handbag or perhaps ''the whole palace itself?''[[note]]Oh wait...the Queen's guards are busy at the stage.[[/note]] Seriously, the security needs to be improved because ''it's the home of the British monarch'' for goodness sake. Next thing you know is that Burglar Bill is going to steal the crown jewels next!

Not to mention [[Fangirl she expresses so much excitement when she finds out she's going to present the Queen her handbag]].

* MagnificentBastard: Many Baddies, especially Cruella de Vil and the Child-Catcher. Pushing side the hammy, overly-dramatic dialogue, they have very stylish demeanours and seem to have quite a lot of ambition whilst putting their plans into action. Pretty good for a children's play, eh?

Misused trope, the people jeering at the Baddies is intentional, & they seem more Love To Hate than legitimately hated.

* TheScrappy: It’s not just the Goodies who absolutely despise the Baddies. Every time the villains show up or reveal whatever devious plan they're about to set in action, the audience jeers at them. Pretty much the only ones who support the Baddies are...well...each other.
** However, it actually depends for the most part. Many people of the "Gen Z" generation would relate to how villains like the Child-Catcher despise children because of their wild antics.
