...Huh, I never realized how few shows I've watched had definite villains until just now
But, er, maybe Rozen Maiden?

Some of Miyazaki's works, such as Princess Mononoke, Howls Moving Castle, and Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind, fit the bill.

First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.So I am in mood for some good romance stuff, lighthearted preferably. Something like Chibi Vampire, preferably. Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu is also good, IMO, but incomplete as well as Koede Oshigoto.
Something that is complete and fully translated. Manga preferred, but anime is good too if it is good.
No Yaoi, please, but Yuri is OK, though I think I have read almost everything good at this point. Girl Friends, Strawberry Shake Sweet, Aio Hana, everything by Miyabi Fujieda... Thouhg with Yuri I prefer something that shows life after they hook, not just the hook up. Too many stories end at the hook up.

I don't see anything by Morishima Akiko in that list. Oh, and if you're okay with porn (and visual novels) you'll probably like Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo
He wrote the Hanjukou Johshi and 20 Years-Old Girl x 30 Years-Old-Maiden, right? Read both.
Not really looking for porn, insanely enough I find the sex stuff distracting.

'Akiko' is a girl's name. And, yeah. She's done some other series, but those two are probably the best
Well, at least I learned something new.
I would like to watch Power Rangers but in anime form. Bonus points if the hero team is all-female.
...So, you want a Magical Girl series?
He literally asked for it: Pretty Cure, an entire Cash-Cow Franchise built around Power Rangers-like teams who freaking fist fight everything from the Monster of the Week to the Big Bad himself! Even the Awesome Music bucks many of the stereotypical Magical Girl trends. Example

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.Well, I guess if you specifically meant Magical Girl Warrior team...sure. Though I guess that means I answered my own question...
Also, as much as I love the Precure series, I'm already aware of it. I guess I could go watch some more of that...

Samurai Flamenco, though you will need to wait a while before the Power Rangers stuff kicks in. It's one of those shows that rewards people sitting through seemingly irrelevant episodes.
Can I get some suggestions for anime (or manga, I suppose) that are:
- Urban Fantasy (or at least, are late-20th-early-21st-century-ish with supernatural elements, or pseudo-scientific elements)
- Not an Alternate Universe (like Code Geass; I want series that could be happening now)
- Take place on Earth and possible fantasy realms (ie Aetherial Plane) but not involving other planets (like Tenchi Muyo does)
- Are not Bleach, Ah My Goddess, or Haruhi (edit) Death Note, or Read Or Die. (Seen all of these.)

That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - Silasw...That's pretty much the default setting. I can particularly recommend The Monogatari series, Rozen Maiden, and Madoka Magica, but there's a huge amount of others if you're not feeling picky
I'll throw in Gingitsune, Kobato., and Kokoro Connect.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else. So, uhm, I'm back. ^_^' Again, thanks a lot to fillerdude for Kuroko No Basket, Haikyuu, Iris Zero and Akame Ga Kill. All solid mangas that I enjoyed reading.
...but now I'm out of reading material again. Still looking for shounen and seinen series of decent length with well-written characters/plot.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! So just finished reading Lovely★Complex. I liked it. Now looking for something more to read, not really sure what I would want to be honest.
Preferably completed (and fully translated). I've enjoyed Chibi Vampire, Superior, Rookie Policewoman Kiruko-san, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, Angel Beats!, Nanoha, Full Metal Alchemist, Kokura-san, lots of stuff...
I am not really what I want at the moment. Something in lines of Rookie Policewoman Kiruko-san to be honest, I really enjoyed that series was sad to see it axed before characters could truly develop.

Blue Ninja 0, here are some recommendations that meet your criteria:
- Angel Beats! (It's a drama/comedy/action series with a modern supernatural setting.)
- Clannad (Comedy/romance/drama with supernatural elements. It and its sequel are among my favourite anime of all time.)
- Kanon (the 2006 version) is similar to Clannad but a little bit lighter on the drama, with more emphasis on comedy. Kanon is better than Clannad in my opinion - but only just. They are both from the same studio that made Haruhi.
- Speaking of KyoAni, they also made the last two series of Full Metal Panic. The first series has some romantic comedy, but it's mostly an action series with mecha and warfare and so on. The second series, IIRC, is even more heavy on the action. The third is mostly comedy.
- Little Busters! is another urban comedy/drama with supernatural elements. It's very funny, but it is also rather sad. You should know that there's a second season, and the story isn't concluded until both seasons are over. If you watch just the first season you'll miss a lot of story.
- Elfen Lied is a very violent sci-fi series. It's mostly action and drama, and there's also some comedy. I suppose it also qualifies as horror. I know that when I first started getting into anime all of my friends who watched anime and had seen it thought it was some of the best stuff there's ever been, but now that there are some years between Elfen Lied and a modern viewer I think the praise wouldn't be quite as overwhelming as it was back then. Still, it's a great series - it just can drown in the hype. (Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the hype thing at all...)

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Recently watched Elfen Lied myself, it's an okay series, but the romantic comedy/horror/fanservice mix is not for the easily scarred.
And now, a slightly different request—anime directors who happen to be women. Preferably ones who've worked on well-known, well-received projects. (I'm doing a fantasy recasting of Sailor Moon and need a director.)
High School Romance/other genre if applicable! One that's not any of the following:
- Clannad/Kanon/Air
- White Album 2
- Nisekoi
- Chuunibyou
- Kimi Ni Todoke
- Ouran
- School Rumble
- Seitokai No Ichizon
- Seitokai No Yakuindomo
- Da Capo
- Others I've probably forgotten
Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu, One Week Friends, and Kotoura-san. Especially that last one... Ho-ly-Crap!

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else. One Week Friends sounds interesting... Is it complete and fully translated? Cause I dislike uncompleted mangas, at least ones that don't update often enough because I hate loose ends.

I'm looking for an anime with an interesting lead female villain.
