Papercut Chainsaw said that, judging from the number of articles I linked to, there is enough discussion of this trope to prove that it exists with regard to animals.
It's also a subtrope of Men Are Generic, Women Are Special.
Are you trying to build it as a trend or as a regular trope? Because it sounds like you're trying to build it as a trend and something you're pointing out, rather than something that a writer can do and then people list examples of. I don't have a problem with the existence of "trends that have been noticed" type tropes, I'm just not sure how to properly build them, as our normal action is "define trope, list examples" and trend tropes don't work well with that.
Fight smart, not fair.I'm really not seeing a distinction.
You might just be better off writing it up as Analysis. The Smurfette Principle instead.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Can an analysis have examples in it?

Yes, provided you're using them as an illustration, rather than simply listing them like a normal trope does.
Fight smart, not fair.I've got three that are stewing slowly but steady ... and I may have discovered a new species of Troper in the process.
Wiki Trope and guideline: A distinct Sub-Trope from X Just X (really!) describing how citations and references to numbered/ordered lists (i.e. soft splits, sliding scales) can Go Horribly Wrong, and alternatives to prevent it from happening. Probably ready to launch, but would like a double-check first. Predefined Message and related topic about the (mainly Eddie's) rule on Stock Phrases. As much as it has five hats and two Just Launch It Already, I would actually like to see some thoughts from a moderator since it's something that does get enforced here and there. A.k.a. "No New Trope Namers", "Trope Namers Are Not Good". Wiki Trope and/or Predefined Message with related topic. I think it suffers a little bit of Attention Deficit Troper Disorder, but is that just me? An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I recently added a new one meant for the trivia page: Mid Development Genre Shift.
I know I've seen this in a lot of places, but I can't remember most of them.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I've just added Death Feigning Enemy, which refers to mooks in video games which appear to have been defeated, but get back up again unless you know how to finish the job or it otherwise isn't quite done.
I'm posting it here because I really need a better title.
UPDATE: It still needs a better title before launch.

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI have two that I've been running for a while that I'd like to launch and get over with:
Delinquents, to replace old trope that was transplanted to Japanese Delinquents
Lady Looks Like A Dude, to split and clean up Bifauxnen (TRS thread)
If anyone has comments or examples (or hats) to contribute I'd be most grateful.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered. After months of inactivity, I have now started no less than four YKTTWs in the past three days. Here they are:
Sarcastic Title: Subtrope of Never Trust a Title; this is when the title of an Author Tract contains or suggests the exact opposite message of the work itself.
All Issues Are Political Issues: A character starts discussing the politics of an issue which the other characters don't feel to be political at all. Needs A Better Description.
Mad Lib Metal Lyrics: Generic, largely meaningless metal lyrics. Seen It A Million Times. Doesn't really Need More Examples (there are too many to list anyway), although a second example in the "Modern Warfare" category would be nice.
Horrible History Metal: Metal lyrics about Real Life historical events. Rarely if ever overlaps with Mad Lib Metal Lyrics.

Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...I may have jumped the gun, but anyone up for crosswicking Immune to Flinching (aka Super Armor) ? It's the Video Game (Fighting Game especially) trope where a character doesn't flinch or stun when hit by an attack.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Here are the YKTTW I'm currently looking after:
- Broken Mirror: I'm savaging this from an old YKTTW had was Chairs. I'm turning this into a Super-Trope.
- Supernatural Thriller: More explanation and sorting is needed for the examples. Also, the description needs more meat.
- Italicized Thoughts
- Burly Detective Syndrome
- Omnibus: It's a YKTTW for a long over-due split from Anthology. It just needs a little more meat in the description, then it's ready.
There's a trope in YKTTW called Hardcore Mode which is about a difficulty level where if you die once, it's a total Game Over. The issue is whether or not it's worth being separate from Checkpoint Starvation.
I personally don't think it's splittable, especially since Checkpoint Starvation is only 5 months old and still needs time to grow.
Thoughts?

I have concern over "Breaking The Third Wall" because every search engine I consult (Wikipedia included) uses it as a synonym for the Fourth Wall. The name could be forcing a distinction where none such exists.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.It also appears to be a duplicate of Frame Break.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick*reads description of Frame Break* ...wait, what? That needs a description tweak badly.

As for YKTTWs, I have two.
- Scary Makeup is a trope about a character wearing makeup to scare other people/look intimidating. It is being split off from Uncanny Valley Makeup as per this thread.
- Cartoon Racer is a subtrope of Wacky Racing about games like Mario Kart and Freaky Flyers. I am not totally sure if it is different enough from Wacky Racing to warrant having its own trope, but I believe that it is quite common and deserves its own page since the video game variant is a bit different from Wacky Racing in general and there is no kart racer trope.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dWell, I've got two active YKTTW going at the moment, the first of which I want to get launched (but it only seems to have two hats and I'm not getting much input in the crowner I set up to find a name);
- Delayed Narrator Introduction: The narrator's introduced as a character part way through the story (typically with the narrator pointing themselves out with the stock phrase "That's when they met me, [insert name here]").
And for completion's sake, here's the other (which could still use a little longer);
- Unknown Character: A character who doesn't have any development beyond (typically not even having as much as a name) setting up an important part of the plot (typically by being an annonomous person in a character's backstory). Best noticed when they can only be described as the person who caused that plot point (e.g. "That guy who showed Alice the importance of cheese", "Whoever left this MacGuffin lying around" or "That bystander who drove Bob to murder").
No one has responded to my previous post yet.

My question is, "Is this Too Specific To Trope?" So far you've got more than the minimum number of examples (three), but I usually try for a dozen just to be sure.

Launched, but needs indexing and crosslinking — too tired to do that right now.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Needs A Better Title here to avoid a Bad Trope Namer pun. I could also swear we have it already, somewhere:

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I have a whole bunch that I need help with, so bear with me:
Needs someone to look over them and see if they're ready for launch or need some tweaking:
-
Portent of Doom -
Signs of the End TimesNevermind, got the hats I needed. Thanks!
Has a last-minute name debate:
Needs approval and possibly the description fleshed out more:
Needs more tropes for the index and approval:
Needs more examples and clarification on relationship to Bonus Boss:
Needs relationship to Immortality Hurts clarified, and may need a better name if it doesn't need to be discarded:
I need particular help with the Immortality YKTT Ws, since there is a TRS thread that is stalled waiting on them to launch (or not).

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand?
