Vivo would be good for Chantal Strand as the soft-spoken sweatheart, but I'm not sure she could pull off the ass-kicking aspect of the character.
What about Hynden Walch? 'Cute but ass-kicking' brings to mind cartoon Starfire.

Thoma has Bryce Papenbrook written all over him. After all, Papenbrook excels at voicing bland male protags.
You say that while probably thinking of Kirito, but then I hear that while thinking of Eren Jaeger...

Can't deny that it sounds like a fine fit, though.

I can see Colleen Clinkenbeard as Cypha. Inner Moka shows that she can pull off a Smug Super (though that one was more anti-/heroic in nature)...

Although now that I think of it, Jessica Calvello could also provide an excellent Curren voic-

...dammit, now I just heard Vandeim's Blatant Lies in the voice of Dan Green, and it won't go away...

[up]She actually stikes me as a bit more of an Einhart voice than a Vivio voice, honestly. Which is kinda strange, given that I best know her as the far more energetic Starfire and Nia...

I don't think too highly of Eren either.

Speaking of characters I don't think too highly of, JYB would actually make a great adult Yuuno. He's been known to pull off bookish types before.

Chris Patton or Yuri Lowenthal would likewise make a good adult Chrono.

...we have very divergent tastes, you and I.

Won't deny Chris Patton making for a kickass adult Chrono, though.

Brett Weaver would be either a Chrono, or possibly a Vice.

I'm not sure about Hynden Walch as Vivio; I tend to associate her voice more with teenagers. Vivio is only ten, after all. But then, she did do Nia, didn't she? Yeah, I could see that. Would actually probably work pretty well for the Adult Mode, too.

I couldn't see Yuri Lowenthal as adult Chrono, but for some reason I think he'd fit adult Yuuno pretty well. High-ish pitched (for a guy) voice, kind of nasal, pretty geeky sounding? Yeah, that fits. (I'm mostly thinking of him as Yosuke, given that I just finished playing that recently.)

In a similar vein, Shinra adds a level of adorkable geekiness to the mix, if you're into that.

'ey, can anyone offer a quick primer on Those Two Girls from Vivid? Rio and Corona, I think were there names?

Trying to work on some fanfic stuff, and I can't find my hard drive that actually has the manga on it.

Vivio's classmates? They're basically normal girls who seem to have gotten into martial arts training because Vivio did. When Nove started training Vivio, they basically tagged along because they were friends.

Rio is the more tomboyish of the two, and uses straight-up magic kung fu like Vivio and Einhart. The only really unique thing about her is that she's able to use both fire and lightning elements, while most people are only able to use one. She's kind of Chinese Girl flavored (her barrier jacket is qipao-ish and her device is a Chinese... medallion... thing?).

Corona is less into martial arts than either Rio or Vivio (or Einhart, but that goes without saying) and doesn't have a knack for it like the rest of them, so she almost gave up on it before deciding to keep going. She's more of a Squishy Wizard than a Kung-Fu Wizard, and her main power is the ability to create and control golems. However, she can use the same ability to essentially People Puppets herself, using other people's attacks through brute force copying their body movements, rather than actually learning and replicating them conventionally. The problem with this is that it's not very flexible (she repeats a given technique exactly, so she can't change it on the fly to adjust to combat conditions) and it's both magically draining and physically strenuous. Her device is a dagger.

[up][up] Rio's family runs a dojo of sorts, and practise their own brand of magical martial arts. Her style is only mostly based on that, I believe, since she considers herself self-taught? It's likely she's added in some moves and quirks from other fighting styles to create a unique style.

Corona didn't have much interest or talent in fighting, but she tagged along with the other two because they're friends and she desperately wanted to...fit in? Is that the right term?

I'm talking more personality/characterization-like stuff, rather than combat-type stuff.

Like... the spectrum between high-energy Genki Girl and low-key Deadpan Snarker, for example.

Much as it aggravates me, I need to do some.... ugh.... slice of life scenes.

Starting to get a little insight into Corona from this conversation, though...

Keep in mind that I've only seen the anime, so there's probably more/different stuff in the manga than what I've seen.

But Rio is definitely more on the Genki Girl end of the spectrum, and certainly the Tomboy to Corona's Girly Girl (though given the series we're talking about, "girly girl" doesn't mean "sissy" in any way). Rio is loud, brash, and excitable (though certainly aware that she doesn't really measure up to... basically anyone she hangs out with, save Corona, in terms of kicking ass). I believe it's mentioned that she has the lowest grades of the trio (but not Book Dumb failing classes level). Corona is quieter and more modest, with less self-confidence but just as much determination. (Hell, the kid goes head-to-head with Einhart and doesn't flee the planet dimension world the minute the matchup is announced; that takes balls all by itself.) Corona is also more... cerebral, than Rio. Rio's likely to solve a problem by trying again, but harder, while Corona is more likely to come up with a different solution altogether.

[up] That said, her match against Einhart was certainly spectacular. Great effort on her part, for someone so far below her opponent in physical ability. She would've even won if Einhart didn't notice the exploitable flaw in her technique.

Rio has practiced her family's martial arts style since she was little, evidenced by the fact that she has Super-Strength at such a young age. It's only recently that she's found another way to improve herself by learning Strike Arts. It is not mentioned how Rio became friends with Vivio and Corona, aside from the fact that they are classmates in St. Hilde. Although it is implied that Rio just transferred from wherever she came from during the latter part of their last schoolyear, given the fact that Corona has been practicing Strike Arts longer than she has and it was only during the current story that Rio was introduced to Nove. Rio is basically a Naïve Newcomer, only not as recent as Einhart is.

As for personality. Rio is definitely a Genki Girl, and like Vivio, has a definite passion for martial arts. her motivation is basically to improve herself more and more with her family's martial arts. She could be a Heir to the Dojo someday.

Corona, on the other hand, is Vivio's longest friend, having known her since they first came to St. Hilde. Corona took up Strike Arts because Vivio was practicing it, and she didn't want to be left out. She also developed her doll control simply because Vivio thought it was cool. What she lacks in physical abilities, she makes up with brains, as her grades are excellent and she easily picks up things taught to her, even learning techniques by simple observation, like how she used Nove's Stun Knuckle despite Nove not telling her that she didn't teach her the skill. Her loss to Einhart was solely due to the fact that Einhart knew the mechanics and weaknesses of Corona's Nephilim Fist.

Personality wise, Corona seems to be the kind of person who is shy to make friends at first, but when she does make friends, she will do anything to make sure that the friendship will last. She's also the level-headed chick to Team Nakajima.

Completely unrelated to the project for which I asked those questions a moment ago, Thoma attempts to show that the Eclipse can be used to protect life instead of only destroying it, and Lily now appears to also be suffering from Mind Rape.

Alas!, I have no idea what the heck is going to happen next, because the players aren't voting yet, and I need votes before I can plan the next installment. sadsadsadsadsadsadsadsadsad

In my dreams? Hell yes, it's a multimillion dollar subfranchise with billions of adoring fans worldwide, a stunningly-animated OVA that got an excellent dub in every major anime market, a mind-boggling soundtrack, and even a few problem-less licensed video games.

In reality? No, it's been "on hiatus until further notice" (read: unofficially-officially-canceled) for years. The scanlation stops somewhere around chapter 30, and I think I've heard rumors that there's one more chapter (or half-chapter) that was published after that.

And I'm beginning to suspect that I'm the only person on the entire planet who actually wants to see it continued in one form or another.

Top three things from Nanoha Force that NEED to be animated:

Signum vs Cypha: the rematch. "SHIDEN ISSEN!"

Divide Zero [ECLIPSE] .

Vandeim lolstomps everybody while being a massive troll via his Blatant Lies and sheer FAKE politeness.

I think they should rewrite it and make it an anime-first like the rest of the series prior to Force was. Of course it's riskier but...

Honestly, I mostly want to see what happens in Vivid so that I know where things stand at the end of 0079 (the beginning of Vivid explicitly takes place in Spring) and can appropriately plan a Gundam crossover.

No, I'm not letting this go, damnit.
