I would like to make an edit to the Zelda Wii U YMMV page under either the current Broken Base or under a newly added Base Beaker section.

• The fact that this Link is once again right handed like in Skyward Sword is a point a of dispute amongst some long time fans and some left-handed gamers.

First question: Has my grammar improved enough?

• Lampshade Hanging: Penelope hangs a few lampshades during her time in Gurren Lagann, overlapping with First-Person Smartass.

• Puff of Logic: Squidward asks Spongebob and Patrick how a sponge and a starfish could talk, in an attempt to Puff of Logic them out of existence. It backfires when they think on it and then ask Squidward the same question, which causes Squidward to think on it, and thus poofs him out of existence and crashes the loop.

Capitalizing the "O" in "Of" will fix the Camel Casing of the words. That is correct though.

However, looking into the tropes, you seemed to have confused Base Breaker with Broken Base. That is understandable, as they are similarly named.

I would like to help with your actual grammatical errors, but I do not know the correct terms used to help teach you about your errors.

You have some issues still. It should read

"Amongst" is not really used in Modern English. It went out with thee and thou. It's either "longtime" or "long-time." One word, not two. You hyphenated "left-handed" correctly, but not "right-handed." And "like in Skyward Sword" is best set off by commas.

  • He also shares a few features with Mega Man X. Both are blue robots whom change colors based on the weapon they are using at the time.
  • In terms of card mechanics, Omnitron-X is an expy of himself, as a fair number of his cards are variations of evil Omnitron's cards.

Light Feminine Dark Feminine under Western Animation

• Teen Titans gives us Starfire and her sister Blackfire. Starfire is sweet, gentle, and outgoing while Blackfire is manipulative, aloof, and vindictive. Stylistically, they fit this as well; Starfire has bright red hair and Tareme Eyes while Blackfire has black bluish hair and Tsurime Eyes.

Ottilia Shanner (Lia after insistence) was a typical 14 year old attempting to get into a good private school. After an interview with the owner of the school and a bout of precociousness that impressed him she found herself whisked away to a boarding school in the south pacific where on her first day she meets a classmate who pisses her off by interrupting her. Her attempts to get back at him mark the starting point of this long story.

Now you might wonder why you should be interested in this and what it might have to do with yu-gi-oh: well the person Lia met was Seto Kaiba, the school she's attending is Duel Academy, and the person who pushes her Beserk Button - Jaden Yuki.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX Year by Year (called the Yearverse by the authoress) is a series of fanfics that are penned by Mistress of Sarcasm that started out as a bet that a decent GX fanfic couldn't be written using the dub names, it has since risen to an epic spanning no less than three instances of The End of the World as We Know It (2 already dealt with and at least one more on the way) major Character Development for a lot of the main cast and an complete inversion of the Mary Sue trope for author created character in Lia (a girl with a sharp tongue and an even sharper aim with heavy projectiles).

Consists of 3 separate stories so far:

• Year One: the Academic – stared on 12-24-08, completed on 1-3-10
• Year Two Descending Light – started on 6-18-10, completed on 6-11-12
• Year Three part one Journeys – Started on 6-15-12, and Currently in progress.

A second part for year three has already been confirmed and if author's notes from chapters in year one are to be believed a year four might be possible for presentation (Mo S has already confirmed that she has an interest on including [[Yu-Gi-Oh 5 Ds 5D's]] in the combined universe she's adapting – no word on ZeXaL as of yet though).

The premise is simple: the Japanese national board of education citing that Duel Academy does not offer a practical high school education attempts to shut it down. Kaiba in typical Magnificent Bastard fashion opens an academic program to students who could meet his rigid requirements while keeping his duelist students left alone (unless they were interested in those academic courses). This leads Lia into a rather unflattering meeting with Jaden who mixed up world history class with duel history class and simply builds from there.

Lia being vindictive actively forces Jaden to pay attention in class as a punishment for setting her off and the fic simply goes on to show the reactions and consequences of her interactions with him, Alexis, Bastien, Chumley, Syrus, and even Chazz.

Year by Year treats the characters like actual teenagers (something that could be argued did not happen at all in the GX dub's writing and only partially in the original Japanese version) and gives Character Development early to the Five-Man Band through Lia's interest in torturing/improving Jaden's less than stellar classroom performance.

Needless to say It Got Better and especially IT GOT WORSE are in full effect here.

The fanfics have a small but loyal fanbase and the combined 654,031 and counting words of all three stories as of Year 3 Part 1 puts it on the high end of Yu-Gi-Oh Gx fanfic epics although there are two that sport larger content the duelist of dawn's Duel Academy Stories and anime master 0's Yu Gi Oh G Next.

But by all means don't let that discourage you from actually reading it...

Absurdly High-Stakes Game: Most of the important duels qualify as this. Lia actually puts it best at the start of Year 2. —>Lia: Oh yeah. If this trope isn't in effect, the entire world is on some serious “supplements”. —>Lia at Year 2: Do I need to point out the deciduous trees again? Trust me, there are tigers. There might even lions. Who knows? There could be a friggin' bear out there, and if you so much as think about making a Wizard of Oz joke, this microphone is going upside your head, kid. Acceptable Breaks from Canon: there are some alternative takes on certain events and their consequences due to the academic program (the abandoned dorm incident being one of them) that Mo S does go into as her yarn is told Adults Are Useless: Duel Academy's staff. I mean who normally in their right mind gives the majority of the sealing keys of three very evil Eldritch Abomination soul stealing or worse soul consuming monsters to teenagers? Or better yet who sits by and lets an apocalyptic brain washing cult take over most of the school without much of a fuss? Alternative Character Interpretation: Adrian, Atticus, Viper, Brier and Beauregard, Axel, Dr. Stein, Chazz, Jaden, we really could go on and on as to how many of GX's cast get this trope applied to them. Backstory: More than a little of the history of the main cast has backstory expansion including connections between Jaden and Hasslberry, more about Aster's family and some about Chumley's family in year one which involves Cannon Welding for both the Japanese and English dubbed versions. Blood Fromthe Mouth: Lia whenever Jaden has to call on his Superpowered Evil Side, has happened no fewer than 5 times so far Breakingthe Fourth Wall: The author's notes usually do this constantly, frequent guests include Jaden, Syrus, Alexis, Jesse, Axel, Aster, Adrian, and Yubel as of recent chapters. Aday In The Lime Light: A lot of the character in the Year by Year series get chapters that go into the inner workings of how they react to the insanity that is going on. Despair Event Horizon: The duel with the Sacred Beasts in Year one. The rise of the Society of Light and Saritorious' duel in Year two. One shudder's to think with the cannon ones that happen in Year three how, many will actually be present in Mo S' adaptation. Dracoin Leather Pants: Depending on your opinion of Chazz in either version of the anime you might assume this trope is played straight. At best due to logical events and character development this trope is merely played with. Earn Your Happy Ending: Make no bones about it Mo S puts the people she writes about through increasing amounts of hell to get their education at duel academy. Year three in her own words will be the worst yet Gratuitous Japanese: Some here and there from Jaden who is depicted as Japanese in this fic. Gratuitous French: Multitudes from Lia with author notes offering translations for the Green-Eyed Monster: Dear GOD Yubel. —>Yubel: And then, once I've played with everyone and there's no one left to get between us, I'll finally have Jaden.

Man of Wealth and Taste: How the Light of Destruction alters Chazz for its plans. He goes from a some what lovable jerkass to a silver tongued gentleman that lets your guard down for the brainwashing to begin. Most Fanfic Writers Are Fans and Most Fanfic Writers Are Girls: Mo S is a fan of GX and has made no attempt at hiding her gender. Never Say"Die": Averted hard as Atticus clearly states that a non duelist that is on the wrong end of the shadows just gets eaten alive (while he's trying to get Lia out of the general area of the Sacred Beasts) Original Character: Lia obviously. Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: Lia for most of the time speaks with what might be considered no discernible accent but will slip into a heavy French accent if she finds herself stressed The Stationsofthe Canon: Played with as certain events have to happen in the continuity but how those events come about and the heroes' reactions to them are decidedly different, but taking things like introducing Jesse at the school duel between Jaden and Chazz also show things as later seasons made things out to be.
