Hmm...well, there's those God-awful Sonic the Hedgehog
fanfics I wrote in middle school, complete with Mary Sue fan characters and plots contingent on Ass Pull
coincidences. In my defense, I was only about 12-13 when I wrote them.
Then there's my first novel. It was fun to write, but it's chock full of self-inserts, more ass pulls, and a serious case of Artistic License - History
. I tried to write a Medieval England story with only a very cursory knowledge of said time period. That didn't work well.
Currently, I write Crack Pairings
of my own characters when I get bored and my muse won't cooperate with the plot. It's highly enjoyable, but I'd never want anyone to see them.
