I Am Not Leonard Nimoy is actually a Criticism Trope that's used pretty frequently in film/TV reviews.

Rhymes with "Protracted.""I don't think Official Fan Submitted Content is Trivia because they have to actually hold the official event. That sort of promotion-thing is Paratext, not Trivia."
It's because the submissions still happens outside the show. Even giving credit to the submitter is done in a way that doesn't happen on the show (unless there is Breaking the Fourth Wall). So if fans sent some fancy hats to put in Katy Keene, the hats would fall under Nice Hat in the show, but the source of the hats is outside the show.
Also, I agree that The Abridged Series shouldn't be listed in the main page for a source work. It should either be on the trivia tab or fan works tab.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Do you think we could have a moratorium on adding new items to this crowner, so that we can switch in a new crowner?
Good idea.
Could we just retire the crowner now and discuss things in the thread? The index is populated enough that we shouldn't need mass voting to fill it up like we did originally.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Good call there. I think that categorizing stuff, while not being that extensive as a rename, is still something that needs discussion and not just "chuck it into a crowner and see what happens"
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHello. I just launched Fandom Life Cycle and the folks on YKTTW told me I should add it to Trivia rather than regular tropes. Is that OK?
Fine with me.
I think that's trivia as well, and while there's a moratorium on adding things to this crowner, I don't think we need a formal vote on that to assign the trivia banner.
I concur with the folks saying it's trivia.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. For what it's worth, when we are ready, I have a blank crowner for Trivia 4 here
Dan Browned, Stillborn Franchise, Backed by the Pentagon, Disabled Character, Disabled Actor, Those Two Actors, I Am Not Leonard Nimoy, Undermined By Reality, Adaptation Overdosed, God-Created Canon Foreigner, and Recursive Adaptation can all be called.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Germans Love David Hasselhoff and Americans Hate Tingle have fallen significantly below the 2:1 ratio since being called. Does that mean they should be taken off of the trivia index?
Because they seem like obvious Audience Reactions to me.
No, I don't think so. (I think there might be some people who downvote called options.) You may want to check with a mod on that, though.
Hmm, what about Tyop on the Cover? Seems like trivia to me. (Especially for works that have had multiple editions.)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. That sounds more like a Paratext Trope to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAdding Fanwork Ban to the list.
Backed by the Pentagon has noticeable effects on a show, I think. Not what I'd call trivia.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt is about the origin of the special effects/ objects/ casting used in scenes of the movie, if i understood the description well.
Because It's got it's own thread now, I figure I'd post here for people who watch this thread.
Cult Actor is a terrible page. It exist solely for ego boosting by allowing people to tell themselves what they like is more awesome because they are part of the "few" that like it. The example list is SO bad, it's hilarious. some exerts from the TRS thread:
Robert De Niro a cult actor? What definition of cult does that fall into? Just so I know coz he's a two time Oscar winner, 4 times nominated. Is it at three Oscars one stops being cult?
The Three Stooges are cult actors you say? Coz as far as I know, they were in their prime some of the best selling, well known comedians. So well known that even in 2012 a studio thinks they can still milk money out of their name by making a movie titled the "The Three Stooges".
Orson Welles is apparently a cult actor. Yes, Citizen Kane & War Of The Worlds Orson Welles.
Oh, and Ben Stiller is there too.
Best one yet: Marlon Brando is apparantly cult, according to the example list.
I'll just quote The Other Wiki's first paragraph for this:
And that's coming from a place with rules against showing praise for something. Brando fits no definition of cult, no matter how hard one tries to stretch it.
Cult Actor is getting sent to the Cut List, and thus has been removed as an option from the crowner. Please continue your regularly-scheduled discussion.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.Recursive Adaptation has been called by Telcontar in post 838. Right now, the ratio of votes is 1.5 : 1. Assuming that it was at 2:1 when Telcontar posted, can I still add it on Trivia? Or do I have to wait till it goes up to 2:1 again?
Apart from that, called Adaptation Sequence.
Let's just say and leave it at that. The general rule is that once it's been called, it's Trivia. If you think something shouldn't be Trivia, bring it up here (in the thread, not on the crowner) and then possibly in TRS.
Okay — I've added Recursive Adaptation on the Trivia index.
Let's just say and leave it at that.
Crown Description:
The Trivia category is for narrative conventions that cannot be determined from the final product itself. These are details of production and behind-the-scenes events that influenced the end result of the product. This crowner is used in conjunction with this thread. Please post in the thread before adding tropes to this list. Previous crowner here. Make a new crowner after 40 tropes.
It have relation with the fanbase and with popularity. In other words, it qualifies as an Audience Reaction- and the own description of trivia in their own page says audience reactions not count as trivia.
