Two weird things I’ve come across recently:
1. A non-story where the author was seeking one-on-one R Ps.
2. Quite possibly the weirdest slash fic I’ve ever read.
Be prepared for outright mentions of “cinnamon rolls”, the word “frick” being used so liberally that you’d think Sammy Classic Sonic Fan wrote this, constant reminders that all the characters are gay, complete OO Cness, lampshading over flaws in the story, and more! Seriously, this thing pretty much sporks itself.

I like cinnamon rolls as much as the next guy, but who the hell outright calls them that in-story? :V
Anyway; once I went on Fanfiction and found one (UND ONLY ONE) Bananas In Pyjamas fic while looking at the lists of represented media. Surprise surprise, it was a Troll Fic, but just seeing that Bananas in Pyjamas of all things had a fanfic dedicated to it made me do a Double Take. Maybe that was the point. Again, Troll Fic. Obviously I only looked at the summary, but come to think of it, I don't think it had anything to do with Bananas In Pyjamas, but then again I don't remember much about the source material beyond the fact that there were bananas that wore pyjamas in it. :V

Explicit-rated character/reader fics seem especially common there, so it's hard to say for sure. (So. Many. Seto Kaiba/reader fics.)
There's a fic that occasionally pops up in the Steven Universe section of AO3 called "Yellow Diamond Finds Jesus". As one of the tags is Yellow Diamond/Jesus, I'm not sure if the title is literal or not.

I once saw a Vinny / Joel Lemon that was played completely straight. People were squeeing in the comments and everything. Then there was the Daisuke Ono / Hiroshi Kamiya RPS and the Mamoru Miyano / Yoshimasa Hosoya oneshot it inspired (I like SouRin and KunikiDazai, but does that really correlate to these voice actors?) and the SEVERAL Avatar: The Last Airbender AU BTS fanfics... I just find Real-Person Fic weird in general.
One For Walrus is a Troll Fic / Crack Fic from the My Hero Academia fandom, but it deserves a mention. The weirdest "serious" fanfic I've ever seen was probably a Tumblr blog dedicated to vomit fetish fanfics about Sports Anime characters. I've seen worse, but it was more Sick and Wrong than harmlessly weird.

I once found an unfinished fanfiction that begins with Heinrich Himmler waking up in the Pokémon world. Upon realizing that Hitler and Nazi Germany are long gone, he decides that he has nothing left to live for and prepares to jump off a cliff. Before he can do that, however, Zinnia comes along and saves him from suicide... by beating him unconscious. Himmler comes to in what is presumably Meteor Falls, where Zinnia cries on his shoulder while saying that she knows what it's like to lose everything (our protagonist is very bewildered during all of this). After a conversation with Zinnia's grandmother, Himmler emerges from the cave and onto Route 114, observing the strange new world in front of him.
The fic disappeared from Fanfiction.net before it could continue beyond this point. I wonder why.

A fanfic website welcoming for weird shit + a series full of weird shit = a lot of weird shit.
Take this series, for instance. A Spiritual Successor to the "Kakyoin, did you lay this egg?" doujinshi, but with scalie smut, played completely straight with attempts at drama and supposed Heartwarming Moments and a metric ton of Artistic License – Biology. It's clearly a fetish fic, so of course it's not going to be scientifically plausible in any way, but this was just egregious. And this is on the tame end of the spectrum simply for being consensual. There's a lot of stuff in there that's just plain nasty, the sort of thing that would end up on the Horrible/Fanfics page if we still had it. I tend not to share those simply because harmlessly weird fics are more entertaining to share than horrible depravity.
From the same fandom, this. I'm usually tolerant of reader-inserts, but this one Tastes Like Diabetes with a character who is anything but, and thus terminally Out of Character, making the oneshot overall In Name Only. Literally the only tie it has to the source material is the name of the "victim." Is it a mundane A.U. where he's a human? I would... accept that it exists... if that were the case, but there is no such tag or anything else that might explain this.
...nah, the Vinny x Joel smut is still the weirdest.
