Artistic License – Nuclear Physics' quote, while hilarious, doesn't really seem to fit the trope, since it's more about misrepresentation for an agenda then making stuff up because it's fun or the story works better that way, or even Did Not Do the Research.

Pulling the sinktholes from the AL Nuclear pagequote would at least be a start. I've done that.

But we can certainly find a better quote

Apologizes a Lot has two quotes.

Pilot has two quotes, which I'm pretty sure isn't allowed.

Pilot: Either cut the first quote down to the last paragraph (since it is way too long as it stands), or depothole the second. Either will then work.

I think the quote fits Magic from Technology better. No idea on a new quote for Clarke's Law for Girls' Toys.

The quote in Cure Your Gays is basically complaining about how the trope is apparently impossible in real life. Is that pull-worthy? Or does anyone have a better suggestion?

[up] Taken from the example section:

Spencer: Mom, Glenn was so addicted to painkíllers that he ended up in jail, and I am the one that needs to get better?!
Arthur: Give me a sec with your mother. [Spencer storms off] Why are you doing this Paula?
Paula: I am trying to help our daughter!
Arthur: Well you are pushing her away. We are going to lose her!
Paula: Oh open your eyes Arthur; we already have!

or

Vito: It was the medication I was on. For my blood pressure. It fucked with my head, but I'm over that now. I could probably get a letter from my doctor
Tony: A note from your doctor saying you don't like to suck cock?

or

Bart: Mr. Smithers? I thought you were, you know— uh.
Smithers: Haha, no, I'm straight - as long as I take these injections every ten minutes. (injects himself) I LOVE BOOBIES!

The third seem to be the most clear. I've put that one up.

The quote in Waistcoat of Style is not only a Wall of Text, it barely talks about the waistcoat.

I cut Waistcoat down to "[...]but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it [...]." We can still look for a better quote, this one is still weak.

I managed to find this by Charles Dickens: "Dignity, and even holiness too, sometimes, are more questions of coat and waistcoat than some people imagine."

The Recycled In Space quote is a kind of complainy one from a Caustic Critic. I'm going to make a biased suggestion and say we replace it with the Strong Bad Email quote on the quote page.

[up] Even if it's complaining, it describes the trope fairly well. The Strong Bad one doesn't actually mention the "recycling" part of it and could easily apply to any work set in space, even if it's not recycling a premise.

On another note, the quote for Humans Are Bastards is good, but it's very long. The first few lines, which are directly addressing another character, can safely be cut and leave us with this instead:

"When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve."

Stone Wall is "strong defense, weak attack," but the page quote only talks about the "strong defense" part, and I just had to remove an entry for the work it refers to because it only established that half of the definition.

Looking at Quotes.Stone Wall, the other two listed are even worse. The first is the opposite of a Stone Wall— things that are good at "making things die" by definition can't be an example— and the second only talks about a difficult opponent in a chess match, which doesn't say anything about whether that opponent is better at defense vs. attack.

If we can think of a better quote for the page, great— I can't think of one off the top of the dome, but there's probably a good one to be found— but at minimum I move that we remove the one that's there and cutlist the Quotes page for having no applicable quotes.

Shouldn't the first quote on Quotes. The New Tens not be the entire song? It just seems overlong and the "oh boy" Immodest Orgasm pothole at the end seems completely unnecessary for The New '10s.

Given the length, plus the fact that someone edited the song (with the dubious claim that it's what the original song would have been like if the singer wrote it today), I'd say chop that joker.

Geez. Allan Sherman didn't do blatant political satire like that and he wouldn't have used the phrase "is fucked." Cut it, don't just edit it for length. That's some troper putting their own work up under a flimsy pretext.

Yeah, I wasn't familiar with either the work or Sherman, so I wasn't sure. Anyway, I scooped it out completely.

If you like goofy parody songs and you don't mind getting stereotypes all over yourself, check him out. He's very much a child of the 50s, though so there's a fair bit of stuff that's insensitive at best and uncomfortably -ist at worst. A lot of them also rely on a fair bit of familiarity with pop culture of the fifties and early sixties. If you know any of his work, it's probably "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah"

Popeye the Sailor Meets Ali Baba's Forty Thieves's quote is way too long- we don't need the entire theme song on the main page. Would it be alright if I cut it to just the first 4 lines?

The page quote for Falsely Reformed Villain (formerly Civilian Villain) doesn't exemplify the trope or add anything.
