This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Neither of those tropes is really about the trope (well, the QI one isn't clear out of context), and I'm not sure what';s going on in the page pic either.
The top one on Quotes.Sadly Mythtaken is alright. Not great.

I Am What I Am have two page quote. I'm not particularly fond of either, though.
Very long quote, and doesn't really match up with the three faces (the young man in the song matches the Hunter, but there's no equivalent for the Lord, and the boy from the song doesn't really fit any of the faces).
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I've reverted the Flyover Country page quote and tagged it back to the discussion here.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.The quote on Child Popstar is related to the former name but has nothing to do with the trope as defined. Anyone mind if I scrap it?
I have no issue with removing that quote.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I'd say keep the La cage aux folles quote for I Am What I Am.
Child Popstar and Three Faces Of Adam quotes can both go, but I haven't got any ideas for replacing them.
Same here.
Cryptic Conversation has 3 quotes. I think the first one is the better one.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."EDIT:I prefer the third one myself.

I like the third one in Cryptic Conversation myself.
As for I Am What I Am, I removed the first quote for now, but looking at the Quotes page, I think the Game Of Thrones one is better, because it actually discusses the trope and not simply stating the trope name:
"Do you know what I learned losing that duel? I learned that I'll never win, not that way. That's their game. Their rules. I'm not going to fight them. I'm going to fuck them. That is what I know. That's what I am. And only by admitting what we are, can we get what we want."

Wacky Fratboy Hijinx has two quotes.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Wow, I've been away from here a long time:
- Child Popstar: Remove it.
- Cryptic Conversation: Third quote, but the work name should not be potholed.
- I Am What I Am: The potholes have to go. The Game of Thrones quote is better than the current.
- The Three Faces of Adam: Wayy too long. Delete.
- Wacky Fratboy Hijinx: I would keep the first quote. The second makes less sense.
I Am What I Am: for something that's not just restating the trope name, how about this:
"Given how long it’s taken me to reconcile my nature, I can’t figure I’d forgo it on your account, Marty"

That's also very good. It's more concise than the Game of Thrones one, at the very least.
Also, another page with two quotes: Inexplicable Treasure Chests. Well, the first one seem to be a subversion/aversion, while the second one don't really explain anything beyond "this treasure chest contains treasure"...
The first one is an aversion, but at least it lampshades the trope. The second one is hard to work out (the "inexplicable" thing is that there are treasure chests everywhere, not so much that they have treasure in them — makes it sound like Already Done for You).
To clarify, I'd go with the first one unless anyone comes up with something better.

Another page with unclear quote that says nothing beyond the trope name: F--.
The Quotes sub-page have 3 quotes, all of which are better than the current. I personally like the second one.
Hmm. For F-- maybe part of the lyric from this spoof music video from Square One TV?
"When he skated towards the roses at the roller rink
The judges held a note that said that, “Stan, you stink.
You’re so bad we’ve got to give you a sub-zero score.”
It added up to negative twenty-four"
That looks neat, though I'd personally just take the last two sentences.
The first two of the quote set up the context, though. Also, given some of the other quotes we've okayed around here, 4 lines is hardly XBAWKS HUEG.
And while I'm here, Film.Where Eagles Dare has two quotes, one from the movie and one from the Iron Maiden song of the same title. Neither, though, really seems all that useful a works page quote, though. The taglines for the film aren't really that inspiring to me, and one of them is quoted on the page image of a poster for the movie anyway.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpCessation of Existence: The page quote is rather long. The quotes on the quote page from the Bible, Epicurus, and Memnarch, Magic: The Gathering all convey the idea nicely and are much shorter.

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI propose that the page quote link at Badass Boast be changed from Film. The Hobbit to Literature. The Hobbit. Smaug says that in the book, and it came first by many years. The quote is very slightly different:
"My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death."
The biggest difference is that the one on the page has some unnecessary punctuation. It was almost certainly not written like that... I don't have the movie script, but hey! I have the book it's based on, and the words are the same (except how armour is spelled), so it's likely that it's punctuated the same too.
I think those two modifications (link and punctuation) are obvious and simple enough that normally I would just make them, but the article has a comment not to change the quote without posting here. What do you think?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I approve of linking the book over the film and making the minor changes.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI agree. The punctuation changes between the film and the book are the sort that happen when you try to say a long sentence full of commas or semi-colons out loud. Some of them turn into periods so you can get a breath.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Just as well they aren't trying a line from Robinson Crusoe, then.
Any thoughts on the quote on Cessation of Existence?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchett
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Sadly Mythtaken has two quotes, however the second one, despite using the word "Mythtaken," is not an example. This trope is basically about modern writers taking great liberties with traditional myths, not characters being mistaken about what is real and what is myth.
In universe examples of things from myth being real would be closer to A Mythology Is True or All Myths Are True.
