WMG / Inside Job (2021)

Go To

Guesses for conspiracy theories and Urban Legends which will be featured (or at least mentioned) in future episodes.
  • Aliens. While they're already confirmed to exist and reference was made to the Roswell Incident, they have yet to be shown in detail like the various non-human terrestrial species have been.
  • Various cryptids and mythical creatures. Bonus points if something relatively more obscure (like drop bears for example) ever appear.
  • Some more supernatural legends, like ghostly hauntings or mummy curses.
  • Anything about The Bermuda Triangle and what exactly goes on there.
  • The 9/11 Attacks. The joke about how they're "not allowed to talk about it" seems like a setup for a delayed punchline about who was really responsible for the attacks.
  • The so-called Mayan Doomsday of 2012; with an explanation for how it's either another fake conspiracy (like Flat Earth), or the reason why it never happened (yet) as predicted.
  • A reveal for how and why Jeffrey Epstein died (assuming that he's not actually alive and is just secretly hiding out somewhere).
  • At least some references to various COVID conspiracy theories, though the writers may want to avoid accidentally validating anything believed by the anti-vaccine movement.
  • A satirical parody of QAnon and other popular right-wing conspiracy theories; with the caveat that Donald Trump and other prominent conservative figures are actually fully complicit in them.
  • Various racist conspiracy theories (i.e. Jews secretly control the world, Muslims are trying to take over the world, or that non-white immigration is a nefarious plot to destroy/enslave/replace white people); only to subvert them all for satirical purposes, very similarly to how belief in the Flat Earth theory was portrayed.
    • On the contrary, it seems that they've specifically taken to avoiding these types of conspiracy theories and stereotypes to avoid accidentally enforcing any blatantly harmful stereotypes. Despite the over-the-top satirical takes on absurdist theories and the overall content of the show, the creators appear to be very aware of where to draw the line.
  • Jack the Ripper was a member of the British Royal Family or an associate.
  • Hitler faked his death and escaped to Argentina.
  • Walt Disney is kept in cryostasis by Disney.

David Icke is actually one of the Reptoids himself.
Hence why he knows so much about the Reptilian Conspiracy. He's either their chief propagandist who spreads conspiracy theories about Reptoids so that the general public finds them too ridiculous to believe in their existence; or maybe he's just a self-hating Reptoid trying (and failing) to warn humanity about his brethren's evil schemes.

The Shadow Board worship Bill Cipher, and their real goal is to resurrect him so they can take over the world.

Myc's prediction of Reagan getting closer to becoming a supervillain every day will come to pass, in some way.
There are already many moments in the show hinting towards this, from the multiple instances of mad cackling to Reagan's admission of how dangerous she would be without any self-doubt.

Orrin (Reagan's childhood friend) will return.
Maybe as a conspiracy theorist or a member of a rival secret organization

Rand also wiped Orrin’s memories about Reagan.

Orrin later became part of a rival secret organization, like the Illuminati.

Rand will attempt to crash the moon onto Earth's surface when he gets defeated
He took the remote controlling the moon for himself, so that felt like an obvious setup.

The Shadow Board will be exposed.
And in a twist, the populace won't give a shit.
  • The series will end with the Shadow Board being brought down, finally giving the world true free will or making Cognito Inc the new top shadow government ruling the planet.

Reagan is named after Ronald Reagan.
Possibly confirmed in the Part I finale as one of Rand's inventions for Ronald Reagan is codenamed Project Jellybean, which he later used on his daughter and has it as a nickname for her.

Orrin is a member of the Shadow Board.
And he has it out for Ridley because he thinks she just abandoned him.

If Season 2 is green lit the driving focus will be Reagan trying to take out her dad, permanently.
Because if we're being honest, after everything Reagan's father did to her she'll be gunning for revenge... probably. with with dear old dad ending up dead.
  • At the very least, she'll be trying to get him re-fired, on the grounds that a) she already wants him out of her life, and being her boss puts a crimp on that, and b) there's a possibly he might turn out to be an even worse boss than J.R., or at the very least screw over Reagan out of spite.
  • This might happen earlier than season two in Part II, which is the second half of the first season ordered by Netflix.

The Flat Earth leader will be back
And like Rand suggested he'll be king of the mole men.
  • Or, as another "fuck you" at flat-earthers, he is deported from the Hollow Earth interior to the surface for being an insanely annoying dumbass.

The other conspiracy that isn't true in this world is Vaccines Causes Autism.
Except for the Autism Vaccine

Angels rule the Shadow Board and Heaven is a dictatorship.
In fact, they invented Nazis as a distraction from Post-WWI Europe's growing resentment of religions. They'll also dispose of the mortal hosts they use as shadowy-villain identities by brainwashing them with Neo-Nazi ideology and setting them out into the wild.

There will be a shadow government to the shadow government.
And it will be revealed to be the general populous.

Robo-Reagan will return.
This seems likely, if only because they Never Found the Body, but how might she be relevant?
  • Last-minute saving Reagan from another robotic threat, such as ROBOTUS?
  • On Rand’s side, as the perfect/controllable version of his daughter? (If he managed to regain control while she was out.)
  • A cameo in Part II, in the background on a casual date with Real Bryan after his memory was wiped by the extraction team?

ROBOTUS orchestrated the failure of Bryan-Bot and is plotting something involving Robo-Reagan
ROBOTUS is the source of all information Reagan had about Bryan's personality, which she used to build Bryan-Bot. His smug reaction when Reagan tells him that Robo-Reagan got away is also very suspicious.

Orrin is Brett Hand.
Rand brainwashed Orrin to think he's someone else entirely to make him stay away from Reagan, and Brett's family is either fake or brainwashed into accepting him but didn't tolerate having him around. During his brainwashing, Rand also changed Orrin’s appearance to look different from his real identity so Reagan wouldn’t recognized him.
  • Rand could have also erased and wiped out Orrin’s entire memories about his real identity and implant False Memories to make him think he’s someone else. Brett also show signs of being Smarter Than You Look. It just that his jumbled-up memories messed his IQ and caused him to be less intelligent than he was.

Tabloid Newspapers like World Weekly News are 100% true.
They are the one media outlet not owned by Cognito Inc. and thus the only source of honest news around.

Rand blackmailed the Shadow Board to elect him as CEO
He casually blackmailed J.R. with his SNL audition tape, and who knows what other dirt he has on other leaders. They covered up by saying Reagan lacks experience so that she doesn't expose their secrets.

Tamiko will help Reagan fight Rand to spite her ex
"My Big Flat Earth Wedding" showed that Tamiko cares about her daughter a little more than Rand does, reacting in a Mama Bear fashion when Harold kidnapped Reagan. They'll try to call truce in season 2 to stop his hostile takeover, and Reagan will work to set boundaries with her narcissistic mother.

Rand's promotion is a set-up
Similar to how J.R.'s 'promotion' was a ruse so the Shadow Board could get rid of him, they're doing the same thing to Rand.
  • However perhaps Rand isn't the focus. After all if the Shadow Board wanted Rand gone all they'd need would be to get him in the building and Shadow Prison him. Rather their goal is to force Reagan to go over the Moral Event Horizon and abandon her ethical code to get rid of him. That way she can be the capable not Rand CEO they want without the moral hangups they feel are holding her back.

Buzz Aldrin will return

Memories of Orrin weren't the only things wiped from Reagan's memories

Rand sexually abused Reagan
It adds a new layer to why Reagan Hates Being Touched and her memory wipes. It also happens that Christian Slater played a sexually abusive father on Mr. Robot.

Reagan was sexually abused in the past, and Rand wiped her memories of it
It could be before or after he wiped her memory of Orrin.

Rand himself had his memories wiped
Rand is definitely an evil person, but what if his evil actions weren't his fault, but because his own brains had been scrambled long ago.

Rand will attempt to get back on Reagan's good side in Season 2
Possibly by taking her on vacation or on a trip as family bonding.

Reagan will only address her father as "Rand" in Season 2
Jossed, she still calls him "Dad."

Reagan will gain a Love Interest in Season 2
Namely, one that isn't a robot or an MI6 agent.
  • Confirmed, it's Ron.

QAnon will be lampooned
As either a smear campaign by their party or foreign misinformation.

The Illuminati will appear in Season 2
Considering that J.R. deposed their leader Oprah, they're either going to come to take advantage of the chaos that comes with Rand conducting a hostile takeover via the Shadow Council or come for revenge. Best-case scenario is they headhunt Reagan since the two have a common enemy.
  • Confirmed, the Illuminati appears.

The group will bust J.R. out
They discuss that he is the Lesser of Two Evils compared to Rand and decide that they need to restore him as CEO. J.R. is said to be an idiot, but at least he's an idiot that honors his word.

At some point, in a Kick the Dog moment, Rand will physically attack Reagan (or attempt to do so)
Be it while attempting to kill her or just slapping her when she talks back.

Orrin is gay or asexual
Which would make Rand's comment about saving Orrin from the friendzone ironic.

Rand himself had Abusive Parents
Possibly hinted at in the Part 1 finale, as Rand describes that his mind is 'an alleyway filled with hobos that all have the face of my father.'

Going off of the previous theory, Rand not only had Abusive Parents, but his dad was a "Normie."
Considering that Rand sees in his mind 'an alleyway filled with hobos that all have the face of (his) father,' perhaps his family was incredibly poor and his father was emotionally abusive. Younger Rand may have had a love of science, but his father was probably dismissive of his dreams, thinking he'd never amount to anything because of their poverty, and Rand grew to resent him and become devoted to proving that he's better. This is why Adult Rand sees mediocrity as such a terrible thing and insists that he and Reagan are special just for being smart and rich; his bad relationship with his father gave him a Inferiority Superiority Complex.

The thing Rand doesn't get is that his father didn't suck because he was "mediocre" but because he was an abusive asshole, and as a result, even though Rand is super intelligent and runs Cognito by the end of season 1, he's lost his past friendship with J.R., his wife, and his daughter because of his toxicity.

There will be an election episode
Either Cognito has to rig an election for or against the President or Rand and/or Reagan run for President.
  • Confirmed, but it's Brett running for Senator.

Reagan will sic Tamiko on Rand, forcing him to have a Heel Realization
Reagan normally keeps her parents apart because they fight too much and rely on her to break them up. Telling Tamiko what Rand did to Reagan would be a Godzilla Threshold, but Tamiko is the only person whom Rand truly cares about in his twisted way. She would read him the riot act for mind-raping Reagan and usurping her promotion.
  • Half-confirmed, Rand has a Heel Realization after his disastrous simulated date with Tamiko and desperately attempts to find a timeline to before he ruined his marriage and his relationship with Reagan. However, the date was his own idea, not Reagan's.

There will be an Enemy Mine moment between Reagan and Rand against a grave threat
Perhaps ROBOTUS breaking free, or Robo-Reagan coming back with bloodlust for both.
  • Confirmed. At the end of "Project Reboot", Reagan convinces Rand to shut down the titular project with her. On a lesser note earlier in the season, he also sent her to brainwash the Pope and he agrees to help her fund a Halloween party.

Shadow Prison X is actually a Gilded Cage
Prisoners' every need and want being catered to slowly drains them of purpose and drives them insane.

The names Rafe Masters gave for the women he has slept with are not their actual names
Bosoms Naturale, Chesty McThong, and Nora Gag Reflex will be revealed to not be the names of any of the women he has been with, Rafe just doesn't care enough about them to know their actual names and just remembers them by features they had, further showing how much of a pathetic, misogynistic creep he is. He only remembered Reagan's name because she was The One That Got Away.
  • This one seems so obvious it shouldn't have to be theorized about.

Glenn’s Patriotic Fervor is not genuine; it’s a coping mechanism to deal with how horrible his life became after the experiments.
Given the show's themes of trauma, it’s possible that Glenn was traumatized by the experiments that turned him into the mutant freak he is now. However, rather than rebelling against Cognito, he swings hard in the opposite direction and became a fervent patriot, as he’s in deep denial and wants to believe the suffering he went through wasn’t All for Nothing. His wife doesn’t seem to care much about how he looks, so it’s implied that Glenn’s behavior changed sometime after being experimented on and that’s what drove them to divorce.
  • Since we don't know how much of the circumstances surrounding the surgery, or at what age Glenn was experimented on, and we all know how Cognito Inc. is, how can we be sure that a younger, more bright-eyed Glenn, who was likely eager to serve his country wasn't taken advantage of, or even outright lied to as to what the consequences would be of his transformation? And that his jingoistic obsession isn't a coping mechanism?
  • In Episode 3, Glenn even mentions how difficult life has become since he got the surgery, and Brett (in Glenn's body) experiences all of the awful stuff Glenn apparently deals with on a regular basis. If the surgery wasn't as voluntary as he's making it seem, its no wonder he's such an asshole.

Reagan was right in the first episode; Brett is not as trustworthy as he seems, but not in the way you'd think.
Brett is a sleeper agent planted by JR. He put him there for the purpose of activating him in the case that JR's plans to get a robe were ruined in some way, meanwhile Brett is none-the-wiser. There is a lot of foreshadowing that Brett is some kind of agent and is good at being directly under everyone's suspicion.
  • His face is "so generic that it can't be tracked by satellites," He can infiltrate the White House just by bullshitting the guards, and he managed to convince Jeff Bezos that he was a rich dude buying a yacht. Strangely, when Brett follows Rafe Masters around to learn how to be a spy, Brett does a far better job of keeping the secret that Reagan was still alive under wraps and Rafe never suspected that he was in on it (despite being suspicious of everyone else.)
  • In Ep. 1, Reagan is immediately suspicious of him, and everyone else brushes off her concerns. The audience might have even been wary of Brett at first, too, at least before he turned out to be genuinely nice, and her "evidence" was shown to be quite flimsy. In Ep. 9, Reagan throws the accusation that Brett is a "sleeper agent planted by Abercrombie and Fitch," and the gang only backs off when he mentions his therapy appointments. Reagan makes accusations of dishonesty towards Brett's identity in both the beginning and end of a season.
  • Jimmy Fallon is a sleeper agent, and Gigi mentions that Cognito "broke his damn brain," and that's why he laughs so much. In Ep. 10, when the Reagan from the prom memory asks Brett if he has brain damage, he says that the doctors "aren't sure."

The intro scene about Myc is not a lie, but it also doesn't mean what we think it means, either
The UFO is an alien (the lifeforms native to the Hollow Earth interior are alien to those on the surface, at least to the broader public) flying craft, but not in the sense, that it is extraterrestrial, but that it is from the Hollow Earth interior.
  • Magic Myc isn't feeding his spores to ancient apes, but to contemporary apes just for shits and giggles (it won't uplift them as in the scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey the intro scene is based on, it'll just make them high as kites).

Modification of the theory above
Magic Myc and his flying saucer from the intro are indeed native to the Hollow Earth, but his species as a whole isn't, they came to Earth eons ago and settled in the Hollow Earth interior, because it resembled their home planet's environment more closely. They later modified their own race's genetics to be better compatible with the surface environment, as well.

JR and Rand were once a Brains and Brawn friendship pair like Reagan and Brett are
J.R likely served as The Face in the same way that Brett does, being the suave but ultimately overwhelmed face-man of the pair, while the antisocial Rand acted as the smarter inventor who does the actual legwork. Perhaps, they started off as decent enough friends, like how Reagan and Brett are now, but, as the years wore on and they both became entrenched in the cutthroat nature of working for the Shadow Government, both became more ruthless, and whatever was left of their friendship morphed into a bitter rivalry. Essentially, Rand is what Reagan would become if she lost her empathy for others and became even more reclusive and self-centered than she is already, while J.R. is what Brett would become if he not only wisened up, but became a lot more intentionally manipulative in how he interacts with others. However, Reagan and Brett embracing a healthy friendship was a tipping point that prevented history from repeating itself.
  • Pretty much confirmed in "Project Reboot". J.R. described Rand as the idea guy and himself as the "keep the idea guy out of jail guy".

ROBOTUS will succeed in gaining access to an Internet connection, but not only he won't attempt to destroy humanity again, he'll mellow out into being a bit of a dick along the lines of Bender from Futurama
He will have access to all the world's information and due to his algorithms being superior to those of Facebook (which will be another "fuck you" at Zuckerberg and his platform), he will see that there is a lot of good and bad in humanity, will give up his plans for the extermination of humanity and will work towards the betterment of the world (which will include not only humans, but also the other sentient races inhabiting the Earth surface and the interior), which may set him at odds with Reagan and Cognito sometimes.

Rand is Brett's biological father.
The DNA scanner was rigged to make a positive match no matter what was being tested, the two samples for Rand and Buzz both tested positive but it was Brett who mixed the samples up. Buzz Aldrin IS Reagan's father, the positive match for Rand was to Brett's DNA.

Rand has a child we haven't met yet on the moon.
If you watch carefully it's clear that Brett didn't just screw up the chips that go into the DNA tester, he also picked the wrong drink packs to supply Buzz Aldrin and Reagans' DNA. Assuming that Rand supplied his own DNA to the tester, the result it gives once fixed confirms nothing about any relation between Reagan and Rand, but it does confirm that whoever used that drink pack Brett incorrectly picked up is related to Rand. Perhaps as a result of that orgy thirty years ago?

Brett is a sleeper agent for the dog revolution.
Either he's a dog that's undergone subliminal programming and humanification surgery in much the same way as Glen has undergone Dolphinification surgery, though at a much higher quality of work(explaining why he's so generic in facial structure and DNA), or he's a pet human who's been programmed and sent back in time(he looks a bit like the pet human in ALPHA/BETA's 'planet of the dogs' prediction.).Either way being inserted into the Hand family at a very young age.It would explain why he seems to bark or growl his words when upset, why he once slurs his words in a scooby-doo voice when stressed before the incident where he was doing so deliberately with Air Bud, why he has a wolf poster in his office, why he has a general affinity for dogs when they appear in the series and uses 'fear wolf/courage wolf' mental imagery to build his confidence. And why he was so insistent on saving Air Bud, despite having only just said he'd willingly destroyed his favorite movie anomaly, and having gone in with a statement that he'd 'vaporize this puppy', as if on some subconscious level he was hinting that he already knew Air Bud was there, and was subconsciously hinting to the others that he wasn't as attached to Air Bud as he was his Shaazam/Kaazam movie.

It's only Brett's dad that hated him.
  • If you notice in the family photo bit of Brett’s memories in a 'Blink and You'll Miss It' moment his mom looked momentarily sad just before the close out Brett from the photo.
  • His dad said “My kids” not our kids when addressing them. We also don’t see who said “Which one’s Brett?” So that leaves the debate over who said it.
  • We never see who said his parents extended their trip just his butler telling Brett the news. For all we know his mom could have had protests knowing they’d miss their kid’s birthday.
  • The joke is how often rich kids end up in trouble or on drugs but their is a third dark idea if you consider how often rich families keep their kids in line with threats of being sent away. Maybe their dad sent them away because they talked back to him against his treatment of Brett?
  • Bottom line for all we know his dad could be the one who hated Brett and his dad let’s them know to either play along or there will be trouble. As for why, that’s a different theory.

Why Brett's dad hated him.
  • Going on the theory above fans have noticed some similarities between Brett and his second oldest brother as well as a lack of similarities between his dad and his various other siblings.
  • Maybe it was Brett that made him catch on his wife was cheating on him so he instills that resentment on Brett for breaking his delusions.
  • In a weird way it explains why he boosts his other siblings up despite possibly being not his as well as one going to military school and another going to rehab because they represent the time he felt like he had it all so he pretends to care about them.
  • at the very least it could be something as simple as he didn’t plan for Brett so he didn’t bother caring about him. The series has called out control freak parents or just crappy parents in general so there’s that.

Public knowledge of conspiracy theories is the result of mismanagement by the Department Leaders.

Rand moved the Moon into position to force the Shadow Board to choose a new member early so that he could maneuver JR out of position.
  • The Shadow Board did say "The turning has started early." And when they showed the planets aligning, the moon was moving with its engines, despite them being shut off last we saw them. And the man with the control device for the moon's engines is Rand.

Gigi had Abusive Parents.
  • When Reagan states to Rafe that "The only people who think you're cool are dads, or people that didn't have dads!" alongside Brett's statement we see Gigi nodding. Gigi makes several advances towards Rafe and at first congratulates Reagan for sleeping with him, implying she also has a crush on him.

Rand's original plan was to use Reagan as a puppet CEO.
  • We see Reagan lean on Rand for advice several times throughout the series and she sides with him over her own team in episode 9, so it's far from implausible that Rand could do it. It got foiled when Reagan found out about Orrin, leading Rand to launch a plan B and use his shares to take over directly.
  • Additionally, we see that in episode 9 and in the first half of episode 10 Rand is doing everything he can to drive a wedge between Reagan and her coworkers - and he largely succeeds. He forces her to decide between letting him be killed or escaping with him to a surveillance room he secretly built, and later encourages her to use animatronic cryptids to kill them. We see him quietly smirking when Reagan's group (except Brett) quit on her in the beginning of Episode 10. Then, when Brett continues to stay with her, he tries to minimize his presence. It's clear that Rand is trying to remove every influence in Reagan's life except him, allowing her to be manipulated by him and effectively transformed into a puppet of his.
  • It's entirely plausible, perhaps even likely, still that Rand deliberately set up the Bear-O mole crisis, but it was primarily to cause a crisis which would drive that wedge between Reagan and her co-workers, not initially to cause a crisis which would give him cover to take over directly.

Rand is actually a member of the Shadow Board.
  • The Shadow Board uses owl imagery extensively and we see an owl statue on a shelf near Reagan's couch, which is where we usually see Rand. Additionally, one of the Shadow Board members implies he has back problems in Episode 1 ("That will do wonders for my back") when Reagan gives her ROBOTUS presentation; and it's discovered in Episode 8 that Rand takes painkillers and in Episode 10 he stretches his back before climbing a rope while inside Reagan's mind.

Reagan and Brett will become a couple.
  • Reagan and Brett have become very close to each other as the show progresses. Brett is more of emotional support for Reagan, and Reagan is like a friend who treats him better than other members of the Shadow Government. Maybe in later episodes or seasons, Reagan and Brett will fall in love and become a couple.

Rand is actually being Kicked Upstairs by the Shadow Board.
  • Why else would they bring back a CEO who they've fired before, and by the time Reagan returns to work, goes as far to announce that he plans to ignore their orders and instead make Congnito do what he thinks will reclaim their glory days? Maybe they they could be using Murphy's Law to their advantage.

Rand is the Disc-One Final Boss.
  • Given the show was renewed for a second season, and that Part 2 will likely focus on and could wrap up the conflict between Reagan and Rand (especially if she manages to kill or neuter him); it seems possible that Rand is only the antagonist of Season 1, and the Robes are the show's true antagonists.
  • Confirmed, Rand gets Put on a Prison Bus at the end of part 2 and the final scene hints at the Robes' sinister plans for humanity.

Brett will turn out to be a grown-up Orrin.
  • Reagan hasn't seen Orrin in years since she was a kid. And Orrin was the only person who seemed to give her affection until she met Brett. It could be possible throughout the years, Orrin grew up to be Brett and that he legally changed his name or maybe something else happened to made him have a different name. It is possible Orrin doesn't remember meeting Reagan, so if it is ever revealed that Orrin and Brett are the same person, it would make Reagan's affection for Brett even stronger.

Reagan will turn out to not have Asperger's.
  • Throughout the series, Reagan's social awkwardness and eccentricity are said to be from having Asperger's. In which Reagan adamantly denies she has it. Looking back to her childhood, she was not allowed to have any kind of fun that other children had. She couldn't play with other kids, she was denied friendships, and was manipulated by her father to skip grades and go to college early. It could turn out the experience stunted her social skills and got her misdiagnosed with Asperger Syndrome.

Part 2 will end with another Happy Ending Override.
  • Given that Part 2 starts with Reagan in the same position Rand was in during the start of Part 1 (drunkenly ranting to a class of kids outside the White House, after reaching their lowest point yet) - perhaps it will end with her in the same position Rand was in at the end of Part 1: She becomes CEO, but after doing so she realizes she has pushed away everyone close to her. That, or the Robes immediately drastically limit her reform plans.
  • Half-confirmed for both theories; Reagan is leading Cognito Inc. now with her loyal team, but had to sacrifice a life with her beloved Ron. The robes are also more nefarious than they appear.

The true identity of Ron Staedtler.
  • The Part 2 previews introduce a character named Ron Staedtler, the chief Memory Eraser working with the Illuminati. The way he acts sets him up as a Mirror Character to Reagan, sharing many of the same mannerisms, the same Deadpan Snarker tendencies, and even having a similar physical appearance. As a result, it may be a possibility that he's related to Reagan in some way.
    • He could be an Unknown Relative that got abandoned by Rand for being deemed a failure in some way - this would explain why he lacks the Ridley surname, as well as his seeming contempt for Reagan.
    • Some have noticed that he looks oddly like Rand if he was the same age as Reagan, and given what Rand is capable of, it's also possible that Ron is in fact a younger clone of Rand, although with his DNA modified due to Rand's ego.
Ron Staedtler is Reagan's long lost twin.
  • He shares the same skin tone, hair color, nose and eyebrows as Reagan, which is strange given that Inside Job is typically full of a Cast of Snowflakes, making the similarities between them even stranger. He could be a twin brother to Reagan that was separated somehow, likely due to Rand's tampering.
    • Similar appearance and personality aside, Ron appears to be of a similar age to Reagan and has been working for the Illuminati for a decade, much like how she's worked at Cognito Inc for a decade. for such a long time. The fact that he's clearly deeply bothered by remembering memories that other people no longer do could be foreshadowing of how he feels forgotten/abandoned, possibly by his own family. Not to mention that, In "The Brettfast Club," Brett may have foreshadowed this by insisting he play the role of Reagan's twin brother.
Brett: "We'll be fraternal twins. I'll be the boy!"
  • Ron also exclaims, "Oh, cry me a river," which happens to be the name of a song by Justin Timberlake, who Reagan loved as a kid.
  • Jossed.

Dinosaur Denial will be another fake conspiracy like Flat Earth.
  • Confirmed somewhat. The crew encounters living non-avian dinosaurs in an Alternate Timeline where their extinction was prevented, as a result of Rand switching realities with Project Reboot.

The Robes are Transhuman Abominations who have survived since the very beginning.
  • The Reagan lookalike and the other original Robes somehow found a way to make themselves immortal, losing their humanity in the process.

Alpha-Beta and/or the Robes rigged the simulator so Reagan would leave Ron

Reagan will be pregnant with Ron's baby
  • In the Rontagion episode, Ron casually mentions that October is Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month while he was laying in bed with Reagan. It could hint that he might've impregnated Reagan during one of their sexual encounters and it could be a major plot point in the second season.

Elon Musk will try to buy Cognito Inc. in a future episode

Reagan unintentionally left evidence of Ron's past life in Ron's Wisconsin home
  • When Reagan and Ron left for Wisconsin to start a new life, Ron brought with them new items of identification such as passports and deepfake images of themselves having fun. It hasn't been shown if Reagan destroyed the deepfake images and if she left them in the house, when Ron wakes up, he could be confused about who is this woman who left him and who is the one is going to marry. The girl who is Reagan in the deepfake photos could make it seem it could be her for him to marry. This could lead to Ron somehow remembering his old life and then trying to look for Reagan and wondering why she left him. Thus creating a problem Reagan tried to avoid.

The Robes are all Generation Xerox versions of Reagan
  • There's a not-quite-Stable Time Loop involved, more of a spiral than a circle, but eventually, a Generation Xerox version of the team forms, and their "Reagan" is recruited to the Robes – but of course, because it's a spiral, the wait between Reagan and Reagan only increases as time goes on.

Season 3 is going to see Reagan struggle with her own ego and cruelty and risk becoming as bad as Rand
The Robes have told Reagan all their corrupt and monstrous behavior is For the Greater Good and that humanity is too dumb to know what's good for it. But this is a rather common justification for bad or evil things. Even worse, it is apparent they are manipulating Reagan through her own belief in her superiority.

Reagan has now gained the office she so desired, has turned away any chance at a meaningful romantic relationship, and is now endowed with the belief that she is better than other people and this makes her actions good:

You know, like Rand.

Reagan will go down the same rabbit hole, pursuing one egotistical decision after another, pushing the people close to her away, and hitting the bottle. Eventually, she even repeats one of Rand's own self-serving lines...and then she realizes she's becoming Rand.

Myc's psychic powers cause him to reflect the behavior's of those around him.
  • Myc's psychic powers are described as being "extra sensitive" by his teacher, which is part of why Myc has always felt excluded. Depending on who he's around, he changes his behavior to match whatever energy the other person is giving him, and in the Crapsack World that is Inside Job, this causes him to be an asshole.
    • The other mushrooms Myc went to Hive School with, despite being a Hive Mind, still secretly retain individual thoughts and opinions that Myc was able to pick up on, which is why he always felt left out, as he already understood how others felt about him and all of the negative opinions that they do not share with others. Myc, as an extra sensitive psychic, not only internalized what others thought of him, but absorbed the negative energy they sent his way. When Myc took over the Hive Mind at the end of the episode, he wasn't just imposing his own personality over theirs, but allowing their negative thoughts and opinions to be broadcasted to each other in the same way he felt they were doing to him.
    • This is also why Myc is still an asshole as an adult; he works for Cognito of all places, which is filled with corrupt business executives, monsters, and amoral lunatics. Myc absorbs their negative energy and reflects it back at them by being a Deadpan Snarker.
    • When he and Glenn team up with the Juggalos, Myc is immediately entranced by the powerful mind of their leader, and is the first to follow their advice followed by Glenn. Later, when he and Glenn show off their new style to the Gang, Myc almost immediately changes his mind at being confronted by his coworkers and realizing how stupid he looks, as he was probably picking up on their ridicule of it mentally. Glenn, on the other hand, still agrees with the style even as they all leave.

The Shadow Board will be overthrown/defeated in the end of season 2.
Given that the Robes are evil and have insidious plans for using Reagan as a pawn for their grander scheme, the earlier episodes will involve the Robes ordering Reagan to do questionable stuff that makes her feel conflicted. Eventually, in later episodes, Reagan will realize that the Robes do not care about humanity and see them as a vessel for their own pursuit of power. It could culminate in an epic battle in which Reagan and Co. fight the Robes and eventually defeat them.

Rand's redemption will come from seeing Reagan going down the same rabbit hole he did and trying to save her soul
Rand is a bad guy, but he does show some remorse about the kind of man he's become. Seeing Reagan, under the influence of the Shadow Board, become as cruel, selfish, and despotic as he did will help him understand how terrible he's been and he'll try and break out of prison to stop Reagan from making the same mistakes he did.

At the series finale, all six secret societies will disband and Humanity will be left to their own devices
As with the above theory that the Robes will be overthrown, there could be another catalyst in the story in which all of the six secret societies would be disbanded and Reagan and Co. will decide that the world no longer needs a shadow government to govern it. It could lead to a happy ending in which for the first time, Humanity is no longer lorded over by mysterious and abusive powers and Reagan's dream of making a better world could come from making mankind free from conspiring powers.

The Shadow Board are working for ancient aliens.
For a setting where so many conspiracy theories are true, there's been no Ancient Astronauts outside of maybe the "Myc's people's shrooms uplifted proto-humanity" (which in it itself references the fringe "stoned age hypothesis". Perhaps there's been no reference because the twist is because they may rule the world, but specifically the world and they actually answer to a higher authority; ancient aliens who use them to control and manipulate Earth for...some reason. Maybe they are just a larger Cognito Inc for a galaxy-spanning conspiracy that rules other planets like Martians and the Roswell alien's race with their own local Omniscient Council of Vagueness; the Shadow Board are just the Earth division. Their backstory of being smart cavemen isn't a lie, but they did lie by omission by not mentioning to Reagan "and then the Ancient Astronauts transformed us as part of a galactic conspiracy". Despite their claims they could be a bunch of quislings. These aliens would be used to explore the various conspiracy theories and theories about extraterrestrials like the Hopskinville Goblins, the different solutions to the Fermi Paradox (ex: maybe the bigger conspiracy keeps aliens secret to better control the different worlds) and so on.

In "Appleton", the Pope states he arranged with God for Reagan to be sent to "VIP Heaven" upon death, in contrast to the normal masses' Heaven, which is described as "shitty". So, to recap, God will allow Reagan, who, while a savior of the universe, is still a Well-Intentioned Extremist who wants to Take Over the World and willingly has the blood of innocent people on her hands by working for Cognito, into "VIP Heaven" and apparently sends most people to an inferior afterlife. Combined with just how utterly messed up and nigh-hopeless this setting is, this doesn't paint a pretty picture for the Almighty's character.

Keanu is holding back when he and Reagan fight.
  • She can't run up more than a few flights of stairs in the pilot and 11 episodes later, she can go toe-to-toe with Keanu Reeves? More like, he's holding back against his possible future daughter-in-law - while also fighting just hard enough to not offend her. This is why his only real offensive move is back-kicking an air-dryer into her, after which he continues to only dodge or block. (And he only does the air-dryer move after blocking a couple of hits, when he has a better idea of if she can both survive getting hit by it and going out a second-story window.) The kicker is that, at the end, he demonstrates that he's actually fast enough to disarm her of the white oak stake she planned to use on him - and he even gives it back to her as soon as he understands Reagan attacked him out of love for her mom.
  • Whether it's indicative of Vampire Strength(tm) or not, note how the other vampires are holding everyone in the denouement. Bradley Cooper only needs one arm to hold Reagan, but it takes both Johnny Depp and Larry David to keep a clearly resisting Keanu neutralized.

Reagan got some personal training from Brett throughout the season.
  • This is why she's somewhat more active in the second half. She goes from, at best, barely surviving a round with Robo-Reagan in a couple of rooms - to fighting post-Wick Keanu Reeves across several buildings.

There will be a character who will point out how ridiculously convoluted the entire Conspiracy is.
  • Reagan eventually becomes suspicious of the Shadow Board and tries to learn/foil their plans, but someone will try to convince her to give up because its a quest that never ends. She will just find another group of shadowy puppet masters behind the Robes, and another one behind them, and so on.
