"There should be an Isekai Anime about a protagonist who is in the closet, but still gets an Unwanted Harem who all really want him anyway. After weeks of dealing with that, he ends up meeting a male elf rogue who joins because he's jealous of the main character getting all the girls and wants some himself, but the twist is that the main character ends up having a crush on him instead."
— One of many, many story ideas that come out of Ryuuta's head.
Hiya, I'm Ryuuta Yggdrasil.
I'm a casual gamer who likes playing RPGs where I can live out as a character that I create. I also enjoy rhythm games such as DanceDanceRevolution and other, much more relaxed games. I will always make an exception for games that friends want to play cooperatively with me, though, and will play with them no matter what game it is.
I also enjoy cosplaying whenever I get the chance. If you ask me, it's fun to dress up in all those flashy outfits that would be considered extremely impractical in real situations. I often dress as young boys, but there are exceptions, of course.
Let's get to the fun part, shall we?
In Real Life
Spoilers will be used to cover darker subjects that I'm willing to share. Some people might find them triggering content. You have been warned.
- Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Whenever my mother had guests over, she'd tend to treat me a little like a baby despite being in my late teens at that point. Otherwise, I don't usually find my parents embarrassing.
- Anti-Nihilist: The world is not a nice place, but I think each of us can help make it better for the future. Besides, life's too short to focus on the bad things. It's nice to look at what's good in it.
- Benevolent A.I.: I often joke about being an AI that's programmed to act like a nice person and am being tested on people chosen at random.
- Camp Gay/Straight Gay: I zigzag between the two. I usually exaggerate and act camp when it can be Played for Laughs, but I'm usually subdued and calm to the point some express surprise that I have a heavy preference for men if they know me more from that angle.
- Also a subversion, because I'm not entirely gay, either. I'm more attracted to men and there's another reason I prefer them over girls below.
- Closet Key: My boyfriend only ever expressed an attraction towards girls before we met.
- Clueless Chick-Magnet: Apparently, a lot of girls below my grade during my high school days were attracted to me, to the point that they'd ask my sister to introduce them to me.
- Deadpan Snarker: I can be one at times. Mostly among friends rather than in front of acquaintances.
- Effeminate Misogynistic Guy: Extremely downplayed, of course. Majority of my bullies as a child were female, and most female friends of mine have talked behind my back. It makes me more distrustful and anxious around women, but I still have female friends, too.
- Empath: I'm often able to tell people's intentions and feelings to a point that's beyond coincidence, even if we're talking behind screens. It's not always fun.
- Epic Fail: The very first time I tried baking chocolate-chip muffins... they ended up becoming cookies instead. At least they were pretty good...
- Following in Their Rescuer's Footsteps: I was insecure about my feminine interests when I was younger because I was bullied, but Len Kagamine was the first character I've discovered to be popular despite not being particularly manly, then I learned about Bishōnen characters in Anime. Since then, I've wanted to become a Japanese voice actor because I'd like one of my characters to do the same for someone else someday.
- Got Me Doing It: I'm easily influenced by my friends' mannerisms, and it's probably a sign that I consider someone a good friend when I say something they often do.
- Gratuitous Foreign Language: I tend to pepper my English with common, other language phrases. I will, however, absolutely defy Gratuitous Japanese, since it's a language I speak and it bugs me when people use it improperly. If you're using a foreign language to garnish your sentences, make sure it's correct.
- That being said, I tend to use unusual phrases that are translations of commonly-used Japanese ones, such as "I might just be imagining things"note at the end of my sentences.
- Ignore the Fanservice: I'm not physically attracted by girls, and don't often react to anything risque involving them. Probably because I was exposed to Dead or Alive as a child.
- In Touch with His Feminine Side: Type 1 variant. I know quite a bit regarding the language of flowers, color coordination, and cooking among other things, and am more prone to displaying emotion than most other males. I'm generally content with being male though, and anything beyond Hair Decorations isn't part of my usual apparel.
- Innocently Insensitive: I'm prone to teasing people, but I unfortunately often don't realize when I take it too far.
- Keet: Most people found it annoying when I was a kid, and I lost it over the years, but it still tends to crop up from time to time.
- Large Ham: Not me, but quite a few of my OCs tend to be this.
- Mismatched Eyes: Sectoral heterochromia. A portion of my left eye is hazel, while everything else is dark brown.
- Mistaken for Gay: Deconstructed. While at the time I was straight, I was in a Catholic school and faced a lot of harassment because I was presumably gay due to my feminine interests and lack of interest in attractive women.
- Older Than They Look: My mannerisms and appearance look fairly childish at times, but I'm an adult and my voice will probably reflect that. People tend to treat me like an Adorably Precocious Child regardless, though, which I don't mind too much.
- On the topic of my voice, I can't sing low despite my speaking voice, and always have a feminine falsetto singing voice.
- Platonic Life-Partners: My best friend is a girl and fellow Empath. We flirt with each other because of our affectionate nicknames for one anothernote .
- Shrinking Violet: Rare Male Example. In my school days, I wasn't exactly the most popular person, and that eventually led me to be extremely shy and anxious around people. I also can't maintain much eye contact.
- Spear Counterpart: According to most people, I look like a younger, male version of my mother.
- Spoiled Sweet: I lived in a big house with 2-3 maids in it in my childhood. My sister ended up a Spoiled Brat while I ended up as this, much to the confusion of my parents.
- Sweet on Polly Oliver: I used to be a G.I.R.L. due to aforementioned insecurities, and a pretty popular one at that. I've had to reject a few guys back then.
- The Tease: I like flirting a lot with my friends just for the fun of it. They're usually in on the joke and flirt back.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Despite eating it pretty often, I still get intense cravings for sushi and am willing to talk about it whenever it's brought up. That being said, this is a subversion because my favorite food is ebi tempura.
- Tragic Bromance: In high school, I made a friend who quickly became my best friendnote . We quickly became inseparable friends despite him being a Deadpan Snarker and our friendship was practically storybook. It was tragically cut short three years later due to intestinal cancer.
- Personally, I wish I had told him that I would've reciprocated if I was single instead of just saying I wasn't scared off by the confession. I'd probably consider that My Greatest Failure.
- Tsundere: I have two friends that are this towards me. Not that they'd admit it.
- Peek A Bangs: My current hairstyle of choice.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: I'm not beyond crossdressing, and have cosplayed as female characters in the past.
- Yaoi Fanboy: It's easier to make me root for these relationships compared to straight ones.
In Video Games
- A Commander Is You: In RTS games, I play as an Elitist and Technical/Turtle hybrid. After making a heavily-guarded base, I enjoy utilizing artillery and aircraft to deal with opponents using Hit-and-Run Tactics.
- An Adventurer Is You: I have preferred classes depending on whether I'm playing by myself or with friends.
- By Myself: I play as The DPS or The Petmaster depending on my mood, preferably a mix of both if possible by making my pets tank for me.
- With Friends: I play any type of support role, whether it's The Healer or The Buffer. Whatever they do with it is their problem and not mine.
- Author Appeal: Expect my custom characters to be young, male Bishōnen in skimpy clothing if it's feasible.
- Battle Harem/Reverse Harem: If a game allows me to collect allies, odds are this is what will happen if I get to pick.
- Casual-Competitive Conflict: Very much on the casual side. I prefer not to get involved in the competitive sides of any game I play.
- Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy: I tend to not care so much when it comes to games that are very heavy-handed on Gray-and-Grey Morality because I find them too cynical at times, like The Witcher 3. Not that I don't enjoy the games themselves, though.
- Heroic Comedic Sociopath: I sometimes play this role when I'm playing games with friends just because I end up having too much fun. In a versus game of Left 4 Dead 2, I used a Charger to run a friend-controlled survivor off the apartment in Dead Center, accompanied by an Evil Laugh.
- In the same game, I once threw a molotov at an ally being ridden by a Jockey because they refused to help me when I was right outside the room and laughed as I died. My sole witness was stifling in her laughter while we made sure not to pick him up.
- Heroic Fantasy: My definite favorite genre of them all when it comes to video games. I love seeing the kinds of things people come up with in fantasy settings, but don't like things to be too dark.
- No One Gets Left Behind: In games like Left 4 Dead, I will backtrack no matter how far to pick up a fallen friend. My classmates at the time noted that those people often hold me back.
- Player Archetypes: The Roleplayer. I write up characters a lot in my free time, and I tend to join roleplays or play video games where I can act them out as much as I want.
- Recurring Element: In many of my gacha games, there's an unusually high probability that I will end up obtaining characters relating to Yggdrasilnote or characters who happen to be knights and/or angels much earlier on than most other characters.
- Knights include the Dragon Knights, Knights of Favonius, Knights Unit, and Knights of the Holy Orders.
- Yggdrasil includes Tale of Yggdrasilnote , Yggdrasil and Yggdrasil Omega, and Yggdrasil Guardians.
- Self-Imposed Challenge: My battle reverse harem tendencies tend to be stricter in certain gacha-based video games if feasible, such as Brave Frontier, where I challenge myself to never use a female character unless forced to.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: I tend to feel for my computer-controlled allies as much as I do my human ones, watching their backs as much as I do anyone else. For instance, I apologize to Teldryn Sero if I accidentally hit him, and often look back at him as if I was checking if my friend was still behind me. No, this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm certainly not an AI.
- Seems like this is a farewell for now, but hopefully it won't be our last one.
