"The trip of your life".

Welcome To Eden (ES: Bienvenidos a Edén) is a 2022 Spanish TV Series created by Joaquín Górriz and Guillermo López Sánchez released worldwide by Netflix on May 6, 2022. The show was renewed for a second season and it was released on April 21, 2023.

A group of five young adults, consisting of Zoa (Amaia Aberasturi), Charly (Tomás Aguilera), Ibón (Diego Garisa), Aldo (Albert Baró) and África (Belinda) are invited to attend a big party at an island that manages a drink brand known as Eden. Once there, a mysterious adventure begins for them through the question "Are you happy?". Those who accept the invitation begin an exciting adventure, realizing that it will change their lives. Although, little by little, they will also discover that paradise is not what it seems.

The series was cancelled after two seasons.

Welcome To Eden provides examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Ibón's father is very perfectionist and abusive towards his son, forcing him to work full-time at his hotel and making all of the decisions for him, rather than allowing him to make them on his own.
  • Action Girl: Bel is very skilled in combat and manages to beat the crap out of Nico who fights her over Zoa.
  • Adults Are Useless: Some of the newcomers' parents either do nothing or are not interested in having their children back. Averted with Ibón's father who hires a private investigator to look into his son's whereabouts and Judit's parents.
  • Advertised Extra: Aldo and Judith are featured in the official poster and billed in the main cast, yet both of them have very little screen time because they get killed off in the middle of the season.
  • Affably Evil: Erick, despite being in complicity with his wife's schemes, is kind, well-mannered and serves as a father figure to África.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Zoa calls Gabi "Ardillita".
  • Alcoholic Parent: Zoa and Gabi's mother is on-off addicted to heroin, yet everytime she goes to the rehab clinic and is discharged, she always relapses.
  • Alliterative Name:
    • Gabi Rey-Gómez.
  • And Starring: And Amaia Salamanca.
    • Season 1: With the special collaboration of Belinda, Ana Wagener and Mario de la Rosa.
    • Season 2: With the special collaboration of Belinda, Carlos Torres and Ana Wagener.
  • Anyone Can Die: Fran, Judith, Aldo, Claudia, David, Ulises, Brenda, Nico, Saúl and Ibón.
  • Almost Dead Guy: León, one of Astrid's mainland hitmen, reveals the location of Eden to Brisa just before he dies from gunshot wounds after attempting to kill Charly's brother on her orders.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Downplayed with Eva. It is revealed that she's part of Bel's rebellion against Astrid, but she caught Fran attempting to escape the island and while he begged her not to turn him in, all we could see is Eva's saddened face before she blows the whistle to alert Brenda.
  • Arc Words: "Are you happy?"
  • Asshole Victim:
    • No one is definitely going to shed a tear for Ulises after he attempted to choke Zoa to death and got his well-deserved comeuppance by Ibón who drowned him.
    • Same goes to Brenda for killing those innocent souls at Eden, like Aldo, Judith and Claudia to name a few.
    • No matter how sad her death was, however, Brenda has killed enough people in Eden that you won't probably feel sorry for her either.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Even if they disagree on some things, including their mother's addiction, Zoa and Gabi deeply care for each other, evidenced by the fact that Gabi starts missing Zoa that she can't live without her and Zoa, on the other hand, briefly goes into a Heroic BSoD when she believes that she might never get out of the island to reunite with her.
  • Back for the Dead: Come Season 2, Brenda is only seen assisting Orson with pushing Ulises' dead body into the sea, and is later killed by Astrid for her inability to find the culprit.
  • Badass Adorable: Despite her toughness, Bel is one of the nicest members of Eden after her friend Eloy.
  • Batman Gambit: Gabi changes her hairdo to copy Zoa's appearance and improves her social media profile under a fake name ("Molly") in order to get herself invited to Eden.
  • Berserk Button: Bel will not hesitate to beat the crap out of you if provoked.
  • Beta Couple:
    • Season 1: Ibón and Alma, Charly and Mayka, Eloy and Orson.
    • Season 2: Charly and Mayka, Ibón, Eloy and Orson.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Claudia is the most quiet of Eden, but never bring up Fran's death in front of her or she will snap at you.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Ibón is usually very shy and reserved. However, he goes very ballistic when Aldo keeps calling him "Chopin" and almost picks a fight with Ulises when he confronts him for sneaking out of Module 1.
  • Big Bad: Astrid, the leader of the island.
  • Big "NO!": Zoa has a big (unaudible) one when Nico shows her her friend Judith's dead body.
  • Birds of a Feather: If there's one thing that Ibón and Alma have in common is that they had sad childhoods with their parents abusing them.
  • Bisexual Love Triangle: Between Nico and Bel, who are both attracted to Zoa. Bel is the one who gets to stay with Zoa.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Basically the Eden members, including Astrid and Erick, to the newcomers who are chosen to stay in the island, acting cordial and sympathethic towards them, and even supportive of the sad lives they've have to deal with, but in the meantime they start showing their true faces once each of them, especially Zoa, are suspicious of their intentions. And when they punish those who disobey by murdering them, it becomes serious.
  • Bitch Slap: Zoa and Gabi's mother gives one to the latter for running away without previous notice, although she later apologizes for it and embraces her.
  • Blackmail: Astrid agrees to spare Charly on Mayka's request, but forces him to be Som's link by threatening his brother's life. With no other choice, Charly has to accept Astrid's terms.
  • Blatant Lies:
    • When Zoa repeatedly demands Aldo's whereabouts, Erick assures that he'll be found. Zoa is not fooled by the way he says it and calls him a liar. He gives a smirk just after he denies the accusation.
    • Brenda jokingly assured Ibón, who laughed with her, that she would kill him if he ever hurt Alma. Seriously, Brenda? After you killed two innocent people?
    • Alma confronts Claudia, demanding to know what was she telling Zoa, even going as far as to bring up Fran's death, which causes Claudia to snap at her. Alma apologizes to Claudia for offending her. However, her discreet grin as she leaves suggests otherwise.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Zoa, Africa, Judith, Astrid and Gabi (blonde), Brenda (brunette) and Alma (redhead).
  • Break the Cutie: Claudia becomes depressed and scared after Fran is killed by Eden.
  • Broken Pedestal: Ibón slowly starts seeing through Eden's facade after seeing Judith's dead body floating on the sea.
  • Cliffhanger:
    • The first season ends in this as África gets trapped in a room of technical devices inside of Astrid and Erick's home after sending a signal to outer space. Meanwhile, Ulises is killed by Ibón defeding Zoa, who was on the verge of escaping the island, and she suddenly stops upon noticing that Gabi has arrived at the festival and stays floating, unsure of what to do.
    • The second season ends with África finding out that she's pregnant with Erick's child, Danae, who is revealed to be scheming against Astrid, gaining access to the Eden database in the control room, only to be caught by Isaac. On the other hand, as Zoa and Bel are about to be executed for treason and attempted murder, it is interrupted by Brisa and her colleagues who arrive at the island by helicopter. Gabi recognizes her from their first encounter and tells Zoa she's here to rescue them.
  • Cult: What Eden really turns out to be once Zoa, Aldo, Charly, África and Ibón are invited to stay. Aldo is the first out of the five to rightly jump to this conclusion.
  • Cut Short: The show was cancelled by Netflix after two seasons, thus leaving many loose ends unresolved. Season 2 ended with what was clearly supposed to be a setup for the plot to pick up where it left off, with the show's renewal for a third season. Zoa and Bel's fates when their execution got interrupted (at least for the time being), Africa's pregnancy from her affair with Erick, the aftermath of Zoa's broken relationship with Gabi after her betrayal, Danae and Som's collusion to take Astrid down, and the investigator's prominence after her arrival at the island, are all left up in the air. Even Astrid and some other irredemeable antagonists got off scot-free.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Ibón kills Ulises by drowning him to save Zoa from his wrath, which horrifies both of them.
  • Dating Catwoman: Downplayed with Charly and Mayka.
  • Dead Sparks: Alma and Ibón's relationship becomes this in season 2 once Alma's deprived of her second star for hesitating to kill Eloy, who was made the scapegoat for Ulises' murder, and she takes a level in cynic, causing Ibón to have more chemistry with Orson and Eloy. Ibón ultimately breaks up with her, and Alma responds by killing him,
  • The Dragon: Brenda to Astrid, as she is the one who often carries out the executions at Eden if anyone dares disobey the rules at the island.
  • Dr. Jerk: Averted with Saúl, the doctor in charge of the members' health as he is shown to be very kind and compassionate.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Ibón is called "Chopin" (after the late Polish pianist) by Aldo and Charly because he loves to play the piano.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Orson is shown to be in a relationship with deaf member Eloy, which is supposed to be one of his few redeeming qualities.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Averted with almost all of the Eden members, who are not above torturing or murdering those who break the rules, including the vicious Ulises. However, some exceptions can include Erick, Orson, Mayka and Nico, who are not that delusional compared to Astrid and their co-workers.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Gabi, who is a 16-year-old minor, tries to kiss David in front of his friends (off-screen) and he understandably recoils. When Gabi crashes at his place, the next morning she behaves very provocatively to David while he is shirtless, and he reacts reminding her that she is still a kid. He doesn't rebuff her, however, the second time Gabi kisses him. But if the genders were reversed, this wouldn't be funny at all.
    • Zoa pressures Bel into detonating the bombs to kill Astrid, and Nuria as well, inside the volcano module, but when Isaac shows up, she refuses to kill a child despite Zoa's objections.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: Alma asks Ibón for a "farewell hug" after he breaks up with her and tells her they should stay friends. Ibón is confused by the way Alma describes the hug until she immediately kills him with her shooting device for murdering Ulises out of loyalty to Astrid.
  • Foreshadowing: Remember when Brenda told Ibón that she'd kill him if he ever hurt Alma? It turns out that Ibón hurt Alma in some way by cheating on her with Orson and Eloy, but it was Alma herself who killed him as Brenda was already dead by the time it happened.
  • Foil:
    • Gabi and Isaac. Both are naïve children who desire to have a loving family and are willing to stay in Eden. However, while Gabi fully distances herself from her neglectful parents after her older sister Zoa goes missing, Isaac, on the other hand, is very loyal to his parents Astrid and Erick, so much that he doesn't know that they're delusional cult leaders who have no qualms for killing people who try to oppose them. Also, while Gabi stays in Eden to have a better lifestyle, Isaac instead is going to be made leader of the New Eden. Their personalities also differ, with Gabi being impulsive, ungrateful and selfish, while Isaac is more calm and laid-back.
    • Ibón and Alma. Both are Birds of a Feather who had abusive parents and went to Eden as an escape from their miserable lives. What makes them different is their parents's social status: Ibón's father is a rich businessman and he was shown to push him a lot, while Alma's parents are poor and always blamed their situation on their daughter. In addition, if Ibón wanted to stay in Eden to be free of his father's control, Alma instead wanted to prove her worth to the delusional Astrid, whom she idolized and saw as a role model. In personality, Ibón is shy and introverted, while Alma is cunning, manipulative and selfish.
  • Flanderization: Gabi, Gabi, Gabi. She was already a Horrible Judge of Character and a Spoiled Brat, but by season 2, her naiveté gets the best of her when she betrays Zoa by selling her out to the Obviously Evil Astrid, which leads her to become an Extreme Doormat and take a level in dumbass.
  • Freudian Excuse: Some of Eden's newcomers have their own which prompted them to go there in the first place.
    • África's mother abandoned her at a park when she was five years old.
    • Zoa's mother is a drug addict and her father travels a lot for work.
    • Charly tragically lost her sister in a swimming accident and was blamed for it.
    • Ibón has an abusive perfectionist father who forcefully makes his son work at his hotel.
    • Alma's parents were poor and considered her a "worthless weak little girl" as Astrid described. Once a month, the foundation would send them a money check to drive them out of poverty.
  • Green-Eyed Monster:
    • Astrid clearly feels this way about África concerning her husband Erick.
    • Nico as well with Bel over Zoa, when he witnesses the two of them making out, leading to violent fight.
  • Hate Sink: And what better candidates than Orson, Brenda, Ulises and Alma? We are in our right to despise them, but mostly Brenda, Ulises and Alma. Brenda mercilessly killed Judith and Aldo, Ulises nearly choked Zoa to death after he caught her trying to escape the island, and Alma, aside from only following orders, killed her boyfriend Ibon in a jealous rage. At least we're glad to know that Ulises and Brenda are finally out of the picture.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Due to his cranky attitude, Ulises easily gets angry, almost violent.
  • Happiness Is Mandatory: "Are you happy? That's the question made to any potential newcomers when offered the chance to have the trip of your life. The infamous but secret Eden cult has a set of rules, mainly that their members stay happy all the time and move past their Dark and Troubled Past, but anyone who questions the island's nature will be punished or worse.
  • The Heavy: Ulises in Season 1. While he's not the Big Bad of the series overall, Ulises, Eden's head of security, serves as Zoa and the other newcomers' antagonist in their attempt to escape the island. In the last episode, he meets his demise at the hands of Ibón by being drowned while attempting to kill Zoa.
  • He Knows Too Much: Brenda and Orson dispose of Judit by throwing her off a cliff after witnessing Ulises torturing Fran as a way to buy her silence. Eden's external crew do this to David as well for stealing the wristband he wore that caught his location after Gabi tried it on.
  • Honey Trap: Orson and Brenda take advantage of Judith's vulnerability by engaging in a threesome with her, just so they could drug and later kill her to buy her silence concerning what she witnessed earlier when Ulises was torturing Fran.
  • Horrible Judge of Character:
    • Both Zoa and her father want nothing to do with her mother because of her addiction to heroin. Gabi, on the other hand, is the only one willing to give her a chance everytime she left the rehab clinic, yet Zoa always told her not to get her hopes up because she would relapse after a short while. Later on, Gabi realizes that Zoa was right when she goes missing and their mother shows very little interest in her disappearance.
    • Happens once again in season 2 when Gabi becomes content with her new lifestyle in Eden and comes to believe that Astrid and Erick have good intentions with the guests. This creates a rift between her and Zoa, who repeatedly insists that they're brainwashing her.
    • Ibón is sure that the people of Eden truly want to help them move on past their traumatic experiences and initially dismisses Zoa's claim that they killed Judith. Her dead body floating on the sea leaves him horrified. However, after pretending to still trust Alma, with whom he's fallen in love with, he gets too carried away by her probably genuine charms and becomes determined to stay in the island for good. Ulises' attempt on Zoa's life is what snaps him back to his senses.
  • Hope Spot: Happens twice to Aldo and Charly when they attempt to escape the island.
    • During Eden's "farewell" party, Aldo sneaks inside a boat and sleeps there for the rest of the night, thinking he'll be rescued and taken home...only for Brenda to show up the next morning and shoot him dead.
    • In the first episode of season 2, Charly finds himself floating adrift the sea and calls for help to what appears to be a rescue boat, with a man helping him up and assuring Charly it'll be okay. However, Charly's relief turns to horror when the passengers and its leader are revealed to be Eden level 2 members, before proceeding to capture and take him back to the island.
  • How We Got Here:
    • The first episode starts with Zoa alone in the deserted beach of the Eden island, after excessive partying, trying to look for Judith and calling out her name, but she gets no response. Then, the episode flashes back to 2 days ago, and mostly focuses on how she and Judith got there in the first place, and the reason why Judith was missing.
    • The sixth episode begins with Erick, with Astrid by his side, giving a speech about Eden during its 15th anniversary party. Just as everyone applauds him, the screen suddenly changes to a phrase saying "Death to Astrid". Just then, the episode cuts to 12 hours ago, showing us how they got there and who gave them the idea to host the party.
  • Hypocrite: Zoa scolds Astrid for assuring Charly that his pain of losing his little sister is hers and the others' as well, pointing out that if they really cared about him, they would've allowed Charly to leave the island voluntarily.
  • I Choose to Stay: África and Ibón are the only newcomers, apart from Aldo, Charly and Zoa, who are willing to stay in Eden. Despite Zoa's protests that no one in Eden cares about him (or at least it's a bit untrue concerning Alma), Ibón reiterates that he elects to stay so that he won't return to his abusive father.
  • If You Ever Do Anything to Hurt Her...: Brenda (jokingly) swears to Ibón that she would kill him if he ever dared try to hurt Alma. Ibón laughs with her. Of course, Ibón gets killed for this, but by Alma instead.
  • I Have No Son!: Charly fails to show up at the cemetery with his family for the anniversary of his little sister's death due to being held in Eden against his will. After Mayka, pretending to be him, sends a text to his mother explaining his supposed absence, this only turns out to be the last straw and makes her understand that he is no longer interested and angrily replies to Charly not to bother coming back home.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Ibón confesses to having killed Ulises to Alma in episode 1 of season 2, which only Zoa, Eloy, Bel and Eva knew about. By episode 7, Astrid, Erick, Orson, Mayka, Joel and Danae already know.
    • León, one of Astrid's hitmen, finds out that Zoa and Gabi are sisters, and that Gabi's name isn't Molly as she made her believe. He relays this information to Astrid and Erick in episode 6. Gabi exposes herself to Som in episode 8 while lashing out at her when she finds her crying over Zoa. Averted with Lucas and Brenda, who only know Gabi's name, but not that she is Zoa's sister.
  • Ironic Last Words: Ulises furiously attacks Zoa after she is caught trying to escape Eden and starts choking her in an attempt to kill her while saying that he's worked his ass off to get to his current position as head of security and telling Zoa that it's time for her to die. Moments after he says those words, Ibón shows up and saves Zoa from Ulises by throwing a rock on his skull and then proceeding to drown him, ensuring his death.
Ulises: [to Zoa] Do you know how hard I've worked to get where I am?! It's over! It's over for you! Do you hear me?! IT'S OVER!!!
  • Irony: Astrid killing Brenda in the season 2 premiere, taking into account she's the one who killed Fran, Judith, Aldo and Claudia, Astrid avenged them.
  • It's All My Fault: Zoa beats herself up for Judith's death because she was the one who convinced her to go in the first place, knowing that the contract forbid her from bringing friends on the trip. This is even lampshaded by Astrid and Erick.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold:
    • Orson might be unkind and detestable to a certain extent, even when he helped Brenda kill Judith and Claudia, but that doesn't mean he's uncaring. When Alma suggests that Ibón be put in charge of security alongside Ulises instead of checking the sound with Orson, he says he has no problem with that change and accepts it without a second thought.
    • Gabi may be very ungrateful, bratty and self-righteous, but deep down she looks up to her sister Zoa and genuinely loves her, despite their frequent fights and disagreements.
  • Kick the Dog: Ulises tortures Fran for disobedience and attacks Eloy, who is left with a nosebleed, when he was trying to break up a fight between him and Ibón.
  • La Résistance: Bel leads a rebellion against Astrid with some of the Eden members, which Zoa, Charly and Ibón join.
  • Lack of Empathy: Brenda never regrets any of her actions, including the murders she committed on Astrid's orders. She didn't even hesitated on doing the same to Judith, who was desperately begging to be spared.
  • Let's Just Be Friends: Ibón tries this with Alma when he gently breaks up with her. She initially seems to take it well, only for her to do the unthinkable by killing him to regain Astrid's trust.
  • Locked Out of the Loop:
    • Brenda, Nico and Saúl never found out that Ibón was responsible for Ulises' death.
    • Also, Brenda and Lucas never get the chance to know that Gabi, aside from only hearing her name, is Zoa's sister. Averted with Nico, as Zoa revealed this to him shortly before his death, taking Zoa's secret to the grave.
    • Since they're long dead, Brenda, Nico, Claudia, Saúl and Ulises were the only characters who didn't find out that Isaac is Astrid and Erick's son.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Isaac's parents are Astrid and Erick. However, in Astrid's case, she is not his mother by blood as she's barren. Nuria is Isaac's real mother, but he was conceived through an affair she had with Erick.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Joel and Eva are making out on the beach, but are seen by Isaac in passing.
  • Married to the Job: Zoa and Gabi's father travels a lot for work and has little to no time for them.
  • Never My Fault: Nico angrily blames Bel for "stealing" Zoa away from him, yet he refuses to recognize that he brought this on himself for his own incompetence and in reality Bel had asked permission to Astrid in order to become Zoa's new link. Bel even tells on Nico's face that it isn't her fault that he is such a "f—king loser".
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Gabi informs Astrid that Charly broke up with Som because he likes another girl. She deduces that it's about Mayka, so because of this Astrid makes good on her threat to have his brother killed. Fortunately, Brisa, in the nick of time, happened to be coincidentally visiting and managed to save him and herself from one of Eden's hitmen sent by Astrid, but still Gabi indirectly could've caused an innocent person's death for her naïveness.
  • Nice Mean And In Between:
    • Bel, Eva, Brenda and Alma. The tough but well-meaning Bel and the soft-spoken Eva are nice, the fiercely loyal extremist Brenda is mean and the empathetic Alma, who is also loyal to Eden and develops feelings for Ibón, is in-between.
    • Without Brenda in season 2, the dynamic entirely changes with Bel (nice) in her original role, placing Alma and adding the violent Danae as the mean ones and the quiet-turned-treacherous Eva as in-between, helping the resistance but at the same time wanting to still remain loyal to Astrid.
    • Some of the male members as well. Eloy is friends with Bel and part of her rebellion against Astrid (nice), Ulises is very cranky and prone to violence (mean) and Orson and Nico are fiercely loyal to Eden but sometimes display a softer side when it comes to Eloy and Zoa (in-between).
    • With Ulises dead, it applies as well like the above gender trope. Eloy (nice), Joel (mean) and Orson and Nico (in-between).
  • Official Couple: Zoa and Bel.
  • Only Sane Man:
    • Aldo, initially the only one of the five members who get invited to stay, when he is rightly suspicious about Eden's true nature, before he is killed midway through the season. Zoa, and also Charly and Ibón, eventually becomes this upon finding out about both the incident and Judith's death.
    • Zoa's sister, Gabi, also counts as one as she is restlessly searching for her after failing to return home, and their alcoholic mother showing very little interest in her disappearance just because it isn't the first time Zoa ever ran away. Season 2 deconstructs this trope as Gabi thinks that Eden is just the right place she's been looking for, unaware that its leaders are delusional murderous people.
    • Out of all the Eden personnel, Fran and Claudia are in total disagreement with the island's procedures. Although with Fran this is zig-zagged as he grows impatient and deliberately disobeys direct orders, a flaw that leads to his unfortunate demise. Then we have Bel, Eloy and suprisingly [[spoiler:Eva, who was the one who sold Fran out in his failed attempt to escape, being part of a rebellion against Astrid.
  • Parental Abandonment: África's mother abandoned her at a park when she was five years old.
  • Parental Neglect: Zig-zagged with Zoa and Gabi's parents. The two deeply care about their daughters but it's very difficult for them to prove it due to the mother's drug addiction and the father's constant travels for work.
  • Pet the Dog: Astrid, Erick, Mayka and Saúl vote against executing Zoa, who was suggested as a scapegoat for the "Death to Astrid" debacle.
  • Platonic Declaration of Love: During the festival, Judith tells Zoa that she loves her and considers her the best person in the world. Zoa reciprocates and the two quickly kiss on the lips.
  • Put on a Bus: Lucas does not appear in season 2. Given that his job was to bring the visitors over to Eden and Astrid closes further festivals, his services were no longer required.
  • The Quiet One: Eloy who is deaf and communicates through sign language.
    • Claudia herself also counts as one.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Zoa throws a brief one to Astrid and all members of Eden when she starts suspecting that something is off about the island.
  • The Scapegoat: When someone hacks into Mayka's laptop and projects on a screen a death threat towards Astrid, she demands some possible scapegoats. Ulises chooses Eloy, who is outright shot down by Orson, and Brenda chooses Zoa, who is luckily spared after a sacrifice deliberation vote. Since Alma reported her to Astrid, Claudia is the one who gets punished and willingly takes credit for hacking the video as Orson and Brenda prepare to kill her.
    • As the militaries employed by Astrid restlessly investigate Ulises' killer, Eva, growing desperate for a promotion, makes Eloy the scapegoat for the crime as he was the one who found the body, despite Bel's protests.
  • Sex Montage: In "Second Chances", Zoa and Bel, Charly and Mayka, Ibón and Orson.
  • The Stoic: Ulises shows very little emotion for most of the time.
  • Sibling Triangle: Downplayed with Zoa and Gabi who are both attracted to David. While he returns the sentiment to Zoa, with Gabi he understandably recoils because she's still a kid.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: It turns out that Astrid's disdain for Som stems from her father, Mr. Sisuk, being responsible for Astrid's father's death, having employed two biker assassins, one of them revealed to be Danae, to do the job and stop the creation of New Eden. Both Erick and Sisuk himself try to talk some sense into her by arguing that Som is not to blame for her father's death, but she refuses to hear them out, especially Sisuk, whom she berates for putting her son Isaac in the middle by almost endangering his life.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: África from being abandoned by her mother in a park at a very young age.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: If Eden's contract made very clear that no friends could be brought along, it was for something. Zoa completely ignored that rule when Judith joined the trip, only to get herself killed by Eden after witnessing one of its members get tortured.
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Poor Ibón gets killed by Alma days after confessing it was him who killed Ulises to get back on Astrid's good graces.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Orson doesn't know a goddamn thing about sign language and only talks to Eloy whenever he communicates through his sign language. This is lampshaded by Eloy.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Happens with Fran, Judith, Aldo and David.
    • Fran strongly disagrees with Eden's procedures that he becomes the subject of constant torture. After trying to flee the island and getting caught, he gets executed. This is lampshaded by Claudia when she tells Zoa to stay away from Bel.
    • Judith accidentally witnesses Fran getting attacked and tortured by Ulises. When Alma notices this, she tips Brenda off about it. Then, her and Orson drug Judith before killing her by pushing her off a cliff despite her desperate pleas to be spared.
    • Out of the five members who are invited to stay in Eden, Aldo is the only one who is quick to suspect that the island is a cult, something the others dismiss as jealousy. Nevertheless, Aldo makes numerous attempts to escape and when it seems that he managed to do so after boarding a boat, however, it turns out Brenda predicted this when she suddenly appears with her gun. How does Aldo respond? Getting on his knees and let her shoot him on his forehead.
    • David secretly stole the wristband he was wearing at the festival when he met Zoa. After Gabi, who is seeking answers behind her sister's disappearance, tries it on, it catches his location in San Sebastián. But do Eden's external crew go to Gabi? No. Instead, they go to David because he still carries the wristband. They kidnap and torture him into revealing why he stole it. With his mother's life hanging by a thread, David is forced to sell Gabi out. David is killed anyway, though.
  • Token Good Teammate: Bel, Fran, Claudia, Eloy and Eva who are part of a rebellion against Astrid. However, while Claudia herself is a good person, she refuses to join because it's a risk she doesn't want to take and advised Zoa against it the morning after she stopped her from killing Nico.
  • Undying Loyalty: Mayka, Alma, Ulises, Orson and Brenda are the most faithful members of Eden and are willing to carry out most of Astrid's orders, even if most of them are out of malice and deeply affect those who are against the procedures.
  • The Unfavorite: Charly's mother always favoured his little sister over him. This is demonstrated when Charly admits that he was blamed for her death in a swimming accident.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Downplayed. While Nico did not harm Zoa in any way, he nevertheless gets his ass kicked by Bel after he furiously confronted and accused her of "stealing" Zoa from him after becoming her new link.
  • Villain Has a Point: Astrid wasn't wrong when she outright pointed out that Zoa was the one who encouraged Judith into going to Eden, even if the contract forbade her to invite friends, a decision that ultimately led to her demise.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: África vomits in front of Charly, which is a sign that she's pregnant with Erick's child.
  • When She Smiles: Bel is serious for most of the time, but you can't help see how cute her smile is, especially when she is around Zoa.
  • Would Hit a Girl: The outraged Nico attacks Bel after seeing the two of them making out in the beach, also blaming her for "stealing" her away from him.

  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Downplayed with Alma being Ibón's "link" after she is promoted to Level 2. Alma has clearly developed genuine feelings for Ibón despite Astrid making it clear that she has served her purpose with keeping him in Eden. This happens when she suggests that he be put in charge of security alongside Ulises instead of checking the sound with Orson, who has no problem with this change and kindly accepts it.
  • You Said You Would Let Them Go: David is tortured by Lucas, who is part of Eden's external crew, into telling them who gave the wristand he stole to, threatening to have his mother executed if he doesn't comply.
