Various Stats

  • Climate: Humid continental. The area sits in a temperate zone, which is reflected by the vegetation (temperate plants like oak trees as opposed to tropical plants like palm trees)
  • Season: Mid-Late Spring. Still gets cool at night, but in the daytime is anywhere from cool to warm.

Location Descriptions

     Residential and Commercial Districts
These two districts are similar to one another in terms of architecture and building usage - the buildings here all look reasonably modern (though there is the occasional building with architecture that looks like it's from the 19th century). The difference is in the majority of the buildings - the commercial district consists mostly of restaurants and stores, while the residential district is home to homes. Most buildings here are 2-3 stories high, though the buildings closest to the historic district start reaching 5-6 stories.
Interestingly, most of the bars are found in the residential district.

Hospital

The hospital is the largest building in both the residential and commercial districts. It's about 4 stories high and is constructed of white brick. The internals of the hospital look fairly ordinary - each floor has a waiting room with appropriate furnishings, while the rest of the floor is dedicated to rooms for the patients. The first two floors are mostly for humans, but the second two floors look to be ready to treat other sorts of beings should the need arise.

     Business District
The business district is filled with skyscrapers many stories high. However, the skyscrapers here are still much shorter than those in the historic district, and look much more modern. As the name of the district suggests, the skyscrapers are used to hold the offices of various corporations. Usually, only the bottommost floor of each building is open to the public - the rest of the building is restricted to employees of that specific corporation.

     Entertainment District
The entertainment district is home to four buildings: the Stadium, the Convention Center, the Library, and the Theatre.

Convention Centre

The convention centre is the second largest of the four buildings in the Entertainment District. It looks like 19th century architecture at first glance, but a closer inspection will reveal that the two humps of its roof are very modern looking glass windows.
The building has a single floor consisting of one main hall plus various external rooms - the walls are brick, but the floor is polished wood. The main hall has a stage sitting off to one side. By default, there are chairs facing the stage, but depending on the event being held these are often taken to one of the side rooms for storage.

Stadium

The largest building in the entertainment district, the stadium is used not only for sports, but also for the occasional sparring match. As per stadium standards, it consists of a central green field surrounded by rows of seats. It is one of the most modern-looking buildings in the city. The structure around the field, besides holding the seats, also holds various sports memorabilia.

Library

The library is the smallest of the four buildings in the Entertainment District. It is a typical public library of complete 19th century architecture, and is 3 floors high. The second and third floors have balconies that let the patrons of the library gaze upon the first floor (the center of which appears to be a simple reading area, complete with couches and appropriate furniture). All floors have shelves with many books, but the third floor also has such curiosities as animal skeletons, which essentially allows it to double as a mini-museum.

Theatre

The theatre is not a movie theatre, but rather a place where plays and operas are performed. Like the convention center, it is mostly a mix of 19th century and modern architecture. A single large stage dominates the back wall, with rows of seats facing it. The seats are divided into four areas, along with a high-rise box for wealthy patrons. The lobby offers refreshments, posters featuring advertisements for plays, and restrooms.

     Historic District
The historic district is home to the tallest and oldest skyscrapers of the city, and also serves as the seat of the city's government. Most of the buildings have 19th century-style architecture. As opposed to the single-use skyscrapers of the business district, the skyscrapers of the historic district are multi-purpose, and most of them are open to the general public.

Centerpoint Tower

The single largest building in the entire city, Centerpoint Tower is a massive skyscraper a half-milenote  high. It's also the oldest building in the district, being completely composed of 19th century architecture. The lower half of the building, like the other skyscrapers in the district, are multi-purpose. The building also has an observation deck halfway up, which provides a nice view of the rest of the historic district and the rest of the city.
The upper half of the building is unoccupied and closed off to the general public. What, if anything, exists on these upper floors is known only to the city's government. A sharp point with a lightning rod at the very top decorates the roof of the tower.

City Hall

If Centerpoint Tower is the most dominating building in terms of size, the City Hall is the most dominating building in sheer style. In stark contrast to the 19th century style of the rest of the district, the City Hall has Greek-like architecture. Its windows are golden in color, stretch from the roof to the foundation, and function as one-way mirrors. The roof of the building is pyramidal in shape.
The building is no less extravagant on the inside. The ceiling is decorated with fine frescoes, and the floor is covered with a blue carpet. The second two floors overlook the first via a pair of balconies that face the entrance. Only the lobby is open to the general public without an appointment.
The police department of the city makes its home in the City Hall's basement. Given that it's hidden from the sight of the general public, it is nowhere near as extravagant as the rest of the building - the walls are concrete, and only the offices have any sort of decor.

     Memorial Park
Memorial Park is a mostly forested area that stands out radically from the surrounding urbanization. The center of the park has a massive pond, in the center of which sits a fountain. In front of this pond is a statue of the founder, and plaques around the pond tell visitors of the city's history. There are other places in the park that pay tribute to the wars of the past and have memorials that honor the lives lost to them. The four major memorials form a rectangle, with the pond sitting in the center of it.

     Construction Zone
In constrast to the mostly organized city, the construction zone is an area of hazards - home to heavy machinery and half-built structures. It appears that the zone is dedicated to the expansion of the business district, but there are certain areas that look suspiciously like ruined buildings that are in the process of being repaired.
