Episode title: The Yiling Patriarch Looking after a Child
Wei Wuxian looks after Wen Yuan for the day, and tries to instill his "teachings" into the child.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Wen Yuan expresses his desire to be like Wei Wuxian, having heard from his grandma that the man is a hero. Wei Wuxian helps fulfil his wish by teaching him how to hunt, eat and handle fierce corpses like himself — neither of these are suitable tasks for a toddler, and after getting traumatised one too many times he changes his idol to Lan Wangji (or "Daddy Lan").
- Butt-Monkey: Wen Yuan becomes a victim in all of Wei Wuxian's "lessons" throughout the episode. He crashes into a tree after a hunting attempt gone wrong, he burns his mouth from spicy food, and he runs for his life from scary (even if friendly) fierce corpses that Wei Wuxian summoned for the boy to play with.
- Fire-Breathing Diner: Wen Yuan lets out a cry of fire after eating the spicy porridge, with the nearby Wei Wuxian being unfortunate enough to get burned by it.
- Giving Up the Ghost: After consuming his spicy porridge (and burning Wei Wuxian with his firey breath), Wen Yuan passes out with his soul escaping from his mouth.
- Wingding Eyes: Wen Yuan's eyes turn into spirals twice due to pain.
