Wen Qing gives Wei Wuxian a list of requested traits for the soon-to-be-revived Wen Ning, but the result doesn't impress her.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Wen Qing wants to tweak Wen Ning's personality by giving him new traits that won't get him bullied like his usual timidness. The result of adding each of these traits to her brother is bizarre at best; his steadiness comprises him boorishly shouting for his sister, his idea of humour is flirting with another fierce corpse, and he shows off his valour and toughness by throwing a pheasant out of the cave.
- Be Yourself: Wen Qing feels remorseful for trying to change her brother's personality and hugs him at the end, reassuring him that she likes him the way he is. As Wen Ning doesn't recall what happened in the previous attempts to return his consciousness, he has no idea what she's talking about and just stands there in a confused daze.
- Big Sister Instinct: Wen Qing's requests for Wei Wuxian mostly stems from her concern that brother will be bullied again and her desire for him to take care of himself. However by the end she understands her brother is just fine the way he is and is quick to tell him that after he's revived properly.
- Came Back Wrong: Played for Laughs. Wei Wuxian warns Wen Qing that messing with the formula for Wen Ning's awakening may lead to unpredictable consequences. Sure enough, when he's revived, the updated personality traits are so odd that Wen Qing is mortified by the end result. Wei Wuxian manages to undo it and revive him again with his original personality intact.
- Wing Ding Eyes: Wen Qing becomes starry-eyed at the thought of her brother valiantly protecting her.
