Wei Wuxian and Wen Yuan stumble upon Lan Wangji while buying groceries in Yiling, and the young boy immediately takes a liking to him.
- Adaptational Alternate Ending: The episode adapts Wei Wuxian and Wen Yuan running into Lan Wangji and the child's interactions with the two men, but the last minute of it diverges into mostly original content (since in the novel it transitions into the plot-important event where Wen Ning regains his consciousness). The two men argue a lot more when discussing the right way to feed Wen Yuan, and the child doesn't hesitate to call Wei Wuxian "mom" unlike his novel counterpart.
- Both Sides Have a Point: Implied. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji argue over how much food Wen Yuan should eat. Wei Wuxian brings up how the child rarely gets to have full meals since he lives in the mountains where their resources for food are a bit scarce, and thus he should take the opportunity to eat as much as he can. Lan Wangji meanwhile points out that Wen Yuan should watch what and how much he eats, since it could affect his health. The toddler keeps moving closer towards one of the men whenever they make their point and he can't decide which one to agree with, suggesting that he thinks they are both right.
- Color Failure: The episode ends with Wei Wuxian so shocked with A-Yuan calling him "Mommy" that he turns completely white before falling to the ground.
- Is That Cute Kid Yours?: When Wen Yuan bumps into Lan Wangji, he starts crying and clings to him while instinctively calling for his dad. The onlookers naturally mistake the latter for the child's father. When Wen Yuan finds Wei Wuxian and runs to him while still crying for his dad, the onlookers assume both men are his fathers and wonder if one of them was forced.
- Luminescent Blush: Lan Wangji's ears turn bright red when Wen Yuan starts referring to him and Wei Wuxian as his dad and mom.
- Not So Stoic: The usually stoic Lan Wangji looks incredibly distressed when he finds himself in an awkward situation with Wen Yuan, much to Wei Wuxian's amusement.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Wen Yuan looks at Lan Wangji with big sad eyes when the latter tells him that he can't eat more than three bowls of rice.
