Lan Wangji heads to Tanzhou after hearing that Wei Wuxian is having an encounter with a dangerous spirit in the area.

  • Adaptation Expansion: In the novel the Lan disciples bring up a story of Wei Wuxian pestering the Lady Florist with bad poetry in his first life so she would show herself. This episode shows in full detail how that incident played out, and throws Lan Wangji and Nie Huaisang into the mix too.
  • Berserk Button: Repeatedly reciting bad poetry is enough for the normally peaceful flower spirit to attack Wei Wuxian.
  • How We Got Here: Lan Wangji comes across Wei Wuxian running from the alleged dangerous spirit and Nie Huaisang hiding behind a tree. The episode goes back to how the duo got into this situation in the first place.
  • Mr. Exposition: Nie Huaisang explains to Wei Wuxian and the audience the story behind the Lady Florist and how her flowers bloom.
  • Product Placement: Wei Wuxian offers Lan Wangji some yoghurt drinks towards the end, with the drinks being from the series' sponsor Zhenguoli.
  • Suckiness Is Painful: Wei Wuxian recites badly-composed poems on purpose on the hopes that the Lady Florist would be annoyed enough into showing herself. The poems are bad enough to make the flowers droop instead of blossom.
  • The Voiceless: Although she can presumably speak, the Lady Florist never makes any sound even after her true form is revealed.
