You may not trust yourself Betty, but I trust you. With my life.
Archie

Betty and Veronica host a serial killer convention at the Babylonium to lure in and catch TBK.

Tropes

  • Adaptational Sexuality: Betty is bi, given that she returns Agent Drake's attraction to her.
  • Brainwashed: Percival uses mind control to make the striking workers, including Fangs, return to working on his railway like automatons, until Tabitha, Toni and Archie intervene by gathering the workers' families and performing a song.
  • Consulting a Convicted Killer: What Charles provides to help Betty catch TBK.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Charles says it's an unwritten rule among serial killers that they don't kill their fans, since most serial killers are narcissists and like the attention.
  • Flashback: While singing, Betty thinks of Archie and flashbacks are shown of significant moments in their story.
  • Hen Party: Toni has her bachelorette at the convention.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Inverted. After finding out that Toni and Fangs are getting married, Cheryl and Kevin curse them to break up (even though the curseworkers are now seeing Heather and Moose, respectively).
  • Killed Off for Real: Betty finally shoots TBK dead, apparently.
  • Loony Fan: Given that the Babylonium is hosting a convention for fans of serial killers, naturally this comes up. One guy in particular is a Loony Fan of Betty's father, the Black Hood killer, and twice asks her to sign weapons that her father used for him. And says that he'd be honored to be her first kill. Agent Drake also does a presentation about hybristophilia for the convention.
  • Love Confession: Archie tells Betty that he loves her, and she tells him she loves him, too.
  • Love Will Lead You Back: Cheryl admits to Heather that she always thought Toni would come back to her eventually.
  • The Missus and the Ex: Toni and Heather meet. They don't clash.
  • Musical Episode: The Babylonium puts on musical numbers from the theatre adaptation of American Psycho, with Kevin starring as Patrick Bateman and singing "Not a Common Man" and "Killing Spree". Tabitha, Toni, Betty, Veronica, Cheryl, Heather and Jillian Drake also perform a group song, "You Are What You Wear", and Betty does a solo, "A Girl Before". Early in the episode, Tabitha, Archie and Toni perform "Bread and Roses" together to snap Fangs and his crew out of their trance. As with previous Musical Episodes, a digital soundtrack was released containing all these songs.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Cheryl and Kevin get this when they realizes their curse has made Anthony sick in order to drive a wedge between Toni and Fangs, so Cheryl calls in Heather to fix it.
  • Never My Fault: Cheryl and Kevin are more concerned with the fact that the curse took the form of making baby Anthony sick, which can be blamed on the universe, than with it having been wrong to curse Toni and Fangs in the first place, and don't admit to anyone but Heather what they did.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Discussed by Veronica, who tells Betty that she needs to talk to Archie about her worries, citing how her own relationships failed due to not having the conversations they needed to or having them too late.
  • The Power of Rock: Tabitha and Toni snap Fangs and the other workers out of Percival's control by singing a ballad while Archie plays his guitar (Archie also joins in the singing nearer the end of the song).
  • Psychic Nosebleed: Percival gets one after straining himself by mind controlling all the workers at once.
  • Relationship Sabotage: Both TBK and Drake attempt this by disparaging Archie, and Betty’s relationship with Archie.
  • Shipper on Deck: Veronica makes it clear in her conversations with Betty and Agent Drake that she's rooting for Barchie.
  • Torch Song: Betty sings about her love for Archie.
  • Title Drop: For Betty's serial killer fan convention at the Babylonium, Veronica hires Kevin to perform numbers from the musical American Psycho.
  • The Un-Reveal: The TBK storyline is decisively resolved by Betty... only we don't find out his identity or what he looks like under the mask.
    • He was unmasked in 6x07 and the story was more about Betty's wrong perception of herself than the killer.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Heather calls Cheryl out for cursing Toni and Fangs, and tells her that spells cast under the influence of volatile emotions always go wrong.
    • Veronica calls out Agent Drake for confessing her attraction to Betty while she's at a chaotic point in her life and relationships.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Archie assures Betty of this when she confesses her fears of going dark to him, pointing out that the very fact she's worried about hurting him and others proves she's not a sociopath.
