Archie encourages Mad Dog to attend Riverdale High and join the football team. Jughead meets Mr. Chipping, who offers him a spot at an elite school called Stonewall Prep. Veronica is conflicted when information about her involvement in Hiram’s arrest leaks to the public. Kevin applies for a spot on the Blue & Gold to make amends with Betty. And Cheryl goes head to head with Mr. Honey, the school’s new principal.
Tropes
- Abusive Parents: Reggie's dad has been beating him. Ever since he could remember usually, for minor things.
- The Atoner: Kevin is spending the episode trying to make it up to Betty. For the way he treated her while he was a farmie, and doing things like trying to lobotomize Betty.
- Establishing Character Moment: Principal Honey introduces himself to the main group when they arrived on their first day back to school as seniors.
- Homage: Reggie planning to trash his dad's car is an homage to the same thing happening in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, though the outcome is different. It even looks like the same car.Reggie: I gotta take a stand.
- Meaningful Rename: Due to the name Lodge being tainted, Veronica decides she will now be known as Veronica Gomez.
- Unwanted Assistance: Reggie doesn't want Archie's help dealing with his abusive dad.
- Unwitting Pawn: Fangs clearly doesn't grasp how he's been used by the Farm to get information via Kevin.
- Wham Shot: The episode ends with Archie, Betty and Veronica leading a search party in the woods looking for Jughead.
