Season 1

    Opening/Ending
Opening
  • Just the thought of the likes of Ainz Ooal Gown or Tanya von Degurechaff taking part in the cheerful and lighthearted opening. Kazuma and Subaru fit in quite nicely, but the thought of the former two, two of the vilest protagonists in Isekai, that was certainly unexpected.
  • After introducing all the characters, the opening begins with a shot of Tanya jogging to school, and Kazuma behind her, out of breath and struggling to keep up. Tanya gets fed up with him, so she turns around and kicks him away.
  • The shots of all the characters in the classroom: Aqua and Megumin are arguing, while Darkness is in the middle of one of her fantasies and Kazuma covers his ears to block their conversation. The Youjo Senki group are all huddled around a table as Tanya explains what looks to be a plan for war. And the Overlord cast features Shalltear and Albedo arguing over something as the rest of the cast watches, culminating in Ainz simply sighing over what's happening in front of him.
  • The part of the opening where each main character introduces themselves is pretty funny too. Tanya and Ainz take the introduction seriously, while Natsuki introduces himself by saying "sentenced to immortality, and I'm also completely broke!", and Kazuma simply says his infamous "Yes, I'm Kazuma", before giving an Aside Glance to someone off-camera and asking "Wait, was I supposed to say something cool?"
Ending
  • The ending theme, "Girl Talk", is effectively a cheerful song about a conversation where Emilia, Tanya, Aqua, and Albedo all admit they have no idea what the hell they're doing or what's going on, so they might as well just sit back, relax with some snacks, and enjoy themselves.

    Episode 1: Come Together! Quartet
  • The series opens with Aqua trying to get out of sorting through the quest rewards because she's covered in giant toad gunk, as usual.
Kazuma: That happens to you like every day! ... Is what I think, but I won't say it.
    Aqua: You just said it!
  • The Konosuba group considers the mysterious button.
    Kazuma: It's clearly suspicious...
    [Beat]
    Aqua: Let's push it!
Kazuma: Were you listening to what I just said?
  • In the Overlord world, Ainz wonders Who Would Be Stupid Enough? to press a button that just appeared out of nowhere. Smash Cut to Kazuma holding Aqua back from trying to press the button. Unfortunately, Megumin decides to press it anyway despite agreeing with Kazuma to not press it. Megumin gives a peace pose to the audience when it was activated.
    • For the Konosuba gang, the pre-summoning is a reversal of a similar situation in their second OVA. Megumin wanted to push a button ("As a Crimson Mage, I can't just not push a button even though I know exactly what's going to happen!"), only for Aqua to press it while Kazuma held Megumin back... now, it's Aqua who wanted to push it/got held back, but Megumin who actually got to do so.
    • Then after that, Ainz has just finished giving his orders that no one is to push any of the mysterious buttons. Cue a button suddenly materializing on his seat just before he accidentally sits on it.
    • For extra hilarity, the button sounds like a doorbell when pressed.
  • The Konosuba group is shocked by the appearance of the Overlord group... except for Darkness, who's ecstatic.
Darkness: Our resistance is about to prove futile as they have their wicked way with us...
    • Made even better that the Overlord group looks like a mixture of confused and irritated.
  • Most of the characters look pretty normal sitting at their desks in class... but Ainz and Cocytus look hilarious.
  • Tanya and Doctor Schugel's bickering was funny enough in their original series, but due to the comedic format of this series, it's even funnier with both of their Large Ham tendencies on full display.
Tanya: When you put two buttons in the same place, I'm not going to know which one to push!
Schugel: What are you talking about? There's only one button!
Tanya: There are two buttons, not one! Two buttons!
    Schugel: ...Have you gone crazy?
Tanya: I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT FROM YOU!!
  • When scoping out her fellow classmates, Tanya glares right through her subordinates, causing them to jump in a panic.
  • Subaru's introduction in the dub version is comedy gold.
    Emilia: Subaru, are you okay?
Subaru: Yeah. I mean I literally had to go through hell to get here. Lil' awkward and weird for me, but let's just try to ignore everything else for now... (opens door) and maybe we can enjoy being somewhere where everything's not out to... kill us... (camera focuses directly on Team Overlord)
  • Albedo's idea for dealing with their new situation is to "slaughter them all". Fortunately, Ainz manages to keep her in check.
  • As per usual, Tanya has a monologue about how she will overcome this trial and kill Being X. Except unlike her home series, this time she does it out loud. And she ends it by leaping onto her desk and laughing maniacally. Cue her subordinates looking on with mild concern.
  • Ram and Subaru's exchange near the end is made even funnier in the dub.
Ram: There's too little information. Go on and sacrifice yourself.
Subaru: How else do we gauge their kill power!?

    Episode 2: Tension! Introductions
  • Subaru's introduction to the rest of his classmates is... honest.
Subaru: Not only am I clueless, I'm also broke beyond compare! Nice to meet ya!
    [complete silence]
Ram: It's good to see that no matter which world we find ourselves in, nobody thinks Barusu is funny.
  • After Beatrice's ice cold and blunt introduction that has her bickering with Subaru...
Tanya: Even a little girl like that?
    Viktoriya: [incredibly nervous laughter]
  • When it's Team Tanya's turn for introductions, Team Overlord visibly perks up when Tanya mentions she's an Imperial Soldier. Then she and her subordinates give a very stiff and formal introduction as if they were reporting for duty on the battlefield.
Kazuma: Uwah... They're from some war world.
Ainz's inner thoughts: Uwah... They're from some war world.
    • Made better by the fact that Kazuma and Ainz use the exact same inflection.
  • During class introductions, Aqua naturally starts to give an inflated, ego-bloated introduction, only for Kazuma to cut her off and introduce Aqua, himself, and Megumin simply, and rounds off with "And that thing is Darkness." Naturally, Aqua and Megumin are incensed at being denied the chance to make a grandiose speech, while Darkness simply writhes in pleasure at being treated like an object.
    • Meanwhile, Kazuma has his hands on his ears, blatantly ignoring any of this to the best of his ability.
    • In the dub, he introduces Megumin as "Meg", and tells everyone to "ignore that one" (Darkness).
    • In a meta sense, Kazuma denying Megumin of her chance for self-introduction may be payback for a) Pressing the button that got them sent to this world, even though he explicitly said not to press it, and b) giving his sword a ridiculous name, "Chunchunmaru," without his permission.
  • Unlike the above, Ainz gives off a dignified, bombastic introduction, which causes Albedo to faint and collapse at her desk out of sheer awe.
Albedo: Seeing Ainz in his full glory has stirred something deep within my loins!
    • And in the dub...
Albedo: Did you not see Lord Ainz just now!? Did his greatness not awaken something deep in your loins?
Roswaal: Oh my goodness! Well, TMIIIIIII!
  • While walking home from school...
Ainz's inner thoughts: I'm an undead, so I'm not supposed to get tired, but... I'm so tired...
  • Aqua confronts Ainz and declares that she'll send him and his group to their next lives, only to get punched by Kazuma, much to Ainz's shock. Aqua complains and then fires off a Turn Undead spell. Ainz dismissively notes that Turn Undead is a low-level spell just before it hits him, and causes him to scream in pain. Aqua is surprised that he withstood it before she gets punched again and gets dragged off by Kazuma, who apologizes to the group. Ainz's reaction to the whole thing says it all.
Ainz: A goddess who can make me feel pain even at level 100. And a human who casually punches such a goddess. This world... ...has some serious power balance issues!
    • Which adds a bit of irony since Ainz, one of the most overpowered characters in light novel media, is complaining about power balance issues.
    • Pausing at the right time during Kazuma's first punch gives a Freeze-Frame Bonus of Aqua looking a little off.
    • While Aqua and Kazuma are arguing, Team Overlord is mostly still glaring at the duo and prepared to fight... except for Shalltear, who's Giving Up the Ghost from Aqua's Turn Undead.
    • The following day, Roswaal punishes Aqua by making her stand outside the classroom while holding three buckets with the third bucket on her head. Aqua naturally accuses Kazuma of selling her out not knowing that Roswaal had been spying on her during her attempted assault of the Overlord cast.
      • Made even funnier because the buckets AQUA is holding are most likely holding water.
      • Additionally, Darkness can be heard begging to join in on Aqua's punishment.

    Episode 3: Deadlock! Classmates
  • On one hand, Tanya is thrilled to get what she always wanted: a safe, quiet life that has nothing to do with the war. On the other hand, the new world is so confusing and chaotic that she just can't relax.
  • During the flashback, Demiurge realizes the trick of this world and explains it to his classmates.
Demiurge: Assume that we have been trapped in this world and forced to become students.
    Mare: Trapped?
Ainz's inner thoughts: Is that right?
Demiurge: Our liege understood this from the start.
Ainz's inner thoughts: Not only did I not know it from the start, I didn't know it at all!
Ainz: An astute observation, Demiurge. It's "that thing", is it not?
Demiurge: Indeed, it is that thing.
    Ainz: ... That thing!
    Demiurge: That thing, indeed!
    Ainz's inner thoughts: WHAT THING!?
Ainz: The others, that is, everyone but you and me, do not understand. So please explain it to them in very clear terms.
  • When explaining the concept of a talent show, Subaru says that one must show that they have a talent no one else has. Ram suggests that Subaru should show off his talent for failing at life.
    • Subaru then pledges to show off an amazing talent at the show, and in the same breath yells at Puck for eating too much.
  • Rerugen feels bad for being harsh with Beatrice but reminds himself that there are demons in this world who wear the skin of little girls.
    Tanya: ACHOO!
  • Poor, poor Ainz. In the last episode, he gets into a fight with Aqua, now this week it looks as though Tanya thinks he might actually be Being X.
  • Tanya marches up to Ainz in class and tells him she wants to speak in private. Albedo immediately flies into a rage, thinking that Tanya is trying to seduce him. When Ainz tries to calm her down, claiming they only just met, Rem chimes in that when it comes to love it doesn't matter how long you've known someone. Albedo immediately latches on to Rem as her new best friend.
    Albedo: YOU GET IT!
  • While the above is going on, Tanya concedes to talk now. Ainz hastily agrees and leaves with her.

    Episode 4: Encounter! Classmates
  • A Running Gag of this episode is when the protagonists interact and realize they're all from Japan, how they got to their respective worlds varies with Tanya and Kazuma being reincarnated while Ainz and Subaru being teleported.
  • You really get to see Satoru Suzuki under the mask of Ainz Ooal Gown when Ainz, an elder lich with other 700 spells under his control, is intimidated by Tanya, a small, blond girl. TWICE.
    • Ainz suppresses his emotions so that he can appear as the intimidating Lord of Death and gives off a dark aura as he asks Tanya what she wanted, unfortunately for him, Tanya does it better and Ainz's Emotion Suppression is forced to go overtime to calm him down.
    • Ainz's immediate realization as to why Tanya was mad at him:
Tanya: You're that bastard Being X, aren't you?!
      Ainz: Huh?
    • A bit of Casting Gag, Tanya's seiyuu, Aoi Yūki also voiced Clementine, an opponent Ainz easily killed in Overlord. He just got intimidated by someone he hardly considered a worthy opponent.
  • There is just some hilarity that Ainz and Tanya get along because they realize they're both former Salarymen that were transported to another world.
  • When Albedo goes on her rant of how Ainz is the most attractive person in the universe and how anyone could easily fall in love with him, Rem once again agrees with a thumbs up. Albedo returns the gesture with a smile as Aura wonders how they become so friendly so quickly.
  • Cocytus sitting at his desk was funny enough, but this episode gives us the unexpected hilarity of Cocytus raising his hand to politely ask a question.
  • Cocytus and Ram's exchange regarding the talent show.
    Ram: That settles it.
    Cocytus: Does it, now?
Ram: Yes. Teachers make the rules. It's settled.
    Cocytus: But is it settled!?
    Ram: It's settled now!
    Demiurge: Interesting...
Subaru: Did you actually learn something from all that?
  • The contrast of how Serebryakov and Albedo react to Tanya and Ainz's new friendship. Serebryakov is amazed at how Tanya can befriend anyone while Albedo shakes with pure jealousy.
  • The next day, Subaru and Rem are running late so Rem carries Subaru as she runs full speed. Subaru is obviously embarrassed by the situation only to see Kazuma being carried by Darkness as she runs the same way, the only difference is he's shamelessly content with the arrangement. The boys decide to walk themselves when they awkwardly notice each other.
  • Just as Kazuma and Subaru are about to talk, the warning bell rings and all four race to school. While Rem and Darkness manage to arrive on time, Subaru is just a second too slow as he screams in agony. Rerugen then tells Kazuma that he's late too as we see him about to jump the wall. He then repeats Subaru's exact scream and pose.
  • Kazuma and Subaru get along when they realize they're also students from Japan transported to another world. They then both whine how they aren't the overpowered protagonist you'd expect from an Isekai story.
  • Subaru due to not telling the details of his story makes Kazuma think he's had it easy and bitches that Subaru of all people is lucky. Made doubly ironic as everything Kazuma is mad about Subaru for: living in a mansion and being surrounded by cute girls, something Kazuma also has and Kazuma is actually Born Lucky.

    Episode 5: Explosion! Talent Show
  • When Rerugen is trying to get out of the talent show, Cocytus throws his words from the last episode back at him. Made even funnier by the fact that he says it in his usual deadpan voice.
Cocytus: Remember? You said it yourself that Mr. Roswaal said that it'd be fuuuuuuuun!
  • The tone of the talent show is set when Rerugen is forced as the first participant and he sings his country's national anthem. Darkness is "helpfully" explaining how embarrassing this is while the rest of the cast looks on in embarrassment or disdain, Ainz is actually facepalming and Weiss looks like he is trying not to laugh. Of course, Darkness is just jealous of his humiliation.
    • And then there's the way he introduces his act in the dub.
Rerugen: I am Erich von Rerugen, TA of Class 2-A! And for my talent today, I shall sing for you the song of my people!
    • And then during his performance:
      Rerugen's inner thoughts: Kill me...
  • The amazing talent that Subaru was bragging about? Cat's Cradle, Ram gave a sadistic ha in response.
  • Weiss's turn has his talent being to essentially strip down. Tanya knocks him out after he unbuttons his shirt. Ainz is scared by Tanya's actions while Darkness wants to get knocked out by Tanya as well.
  • Darkness' turn...
    • First she asks for help and Grantz agrees. It turns out she wants to show off her durability ... by having Grantz whip her. Poor Grantz is dumbfounded by this.
    • Due to Darkness wording it as if he regularly whips her. Ram, Rem, Cocytus and even Viktoriya call Grantz trash while Subaru steps in to tell Grantz off.
      • In the Japanese sub, Subaru telling Grantz off becomes hilarious when you realize both characters are voiced by the same voice actor.
    • Darkness continues making it worse as she begs that Subaru also help which leads to Ram and Cocytus to also call Subaru trash while Rem accepts Subaru.
    • At the end, all Kazuma can do is mentally apologize for Darkness.
  • Aqua's turn has her plan to use Sacred Turn Undead on Ainz but is stopped by Kazuma. They then go on their trademark bickering only for Roswaal to call it a husband and wife comedy routine.
    • What makes it even funnier is the cut to Ainz after Kazuma stops Aqua; he had already put up a protective spell in preparation for Aqua's Sacred Turn Undead, and quickly dispels it with a sigh of relief afterward.
    • Not to mention that Kazuma and Aqua are EQUALLY offended by being compared to a husband and wife before an Isekai Quartet-themed parody of Konosuba's Eye Catches plays.
      Kazuma and Aqua: IseQuar!
    • Humorously, said Eye Catch shows the audience that when Isekai Quartet's name is shortened like Konosuba's it still sounds very similar to "Isekai".
  • Megumin volunteers in the talent show and despite saying she has a new talent, she just uses explosion magic like always.
  • When Ainz activates his Super Tier Spell, Megumin is so shocked by how many spell circles he's using she unknowingly starts to strangle Kazuma.
  • After Ainz uses his magic to make it snow, Kazuma states that Cocytus looks like the Winter Shogun in the snow, while Megumin (still out of energy from her Explosion) asks that someone please pick her up since she's laying face down in the snow. Which is odd since Kazuma was holding her the scene before it.

    Episode 6: Decision! Class Rep
  • When the time comes to pick out class reps, Albedo raises her hand and immediately volunteers Ainz against his will. In response, Aqua objects and says an undead can't possibly be the class rep and volunteers herself. Albedo responds by calling her ugly.
    • The conversation that follows is worth mentioning too.
Aqua: *smacking Kazuma on the head* She called me ugly! She called me ugly twice! Kazuma!
Kazuma: (In a tired tone) Yes, I'm Kazuma.
Aqua: That succubus is being a meanie!
Darkness: No, Aqua. What she said hardly counts as insulting. If you really want to make someone feel shame...
Kazuma: Darkness, we get it, so shut up!
  • Tanya believes that trying to be the class rep would be crazy as returning to the front lines and refuses to volunteer.
  • Emilia volunteers for class rep as well, and Subaru immediately says he'll help make sure he wins. He asks Roswaal how the class reps will be decided, and Roswaal responds by saying he's just going to draw names. Cut to the next scene, and Emilia has indeed been chosen as class rep, and Subaru sits down with a satisfied smirk.
    • The popular theory surrounding this scene is that, since the drawings were up to pure chance, Subaru just repeatedly killed himself and revived until Emilia was finally chosen.
      • This theory is put to bed in episode 10, where we learn that Subaru never died since coming to this world.
Ram: You have a very self-satisfied look on your face, but you did nothing, Barusu.
  • Aqua and Ainz were chosen as vice reps, but of course, Aqua objects to having to work with him. So Roswaal announces that there's now a free slot for vice rep, which leads to everyone in the Overlord cast arguing over who gets to be the second vice rep. This doesn't go unnoticed.
    Koenig: Hey, Neumann.
    Neumann: Hmm?
Koenig: Even the skeleton gets a harem.
    Neumann: Yeah...
Koenig: As a man, it just makes you sad.
    Neumann: Yeah...
    Grantz: I'm seriously jealous.
Weiss: An imperial soldier shouldn't make his desires so obvious.
Koenig: Are you saying you're not jealous?
Weiss: "I'm not jealous." ...Would be a lie.
    • When Albedo and Shalltear start arguing about being Vice-Rep with Ainz, Ainz's aura starts calming him down even before the two start talking. He knows what's coming.
  • Understanding that nobody will come to a decision on their own, Roswaal just draws names again, and everyone is assigned to a certain position. This includes Tanya, Demiurge, and Kazuma on the disciplinary committee, Rem and Shalltear as nurses, and Darkness on the gym committee. Naturally, the Konosuba group has a discussion about this.
Aqua: Why am I on animal care? I refuse to do it! I refuse, I refuse!
Megumin: I've got it worse! I'm on intercom duty!
    Kazuma: That's perfect for you.
    Megumin: Huh? What? H-How?
Darkness: I'm on the gym committee!
    Kazuma: That's even more perfect.
  • During the meeting for the disciplinary committee, Tanya and Demiurge strike up a friendship while Kazuma monologues about how he's pretty sure he's going to stop coming to school again.
Tanya: There will be no joke-filled slice-of-life worlds as long as I'm on the disciplinary committee!
  • During the gym committee's meeting, on the other hand, Darkness fantasizes about her partners (namely Cocytus and Weiss) having their way with her using various gym equipment, scaring them both.

Episode 7: Carry Out! Class Rep
  • Early in the episode, we discover that Hamsuke has been transported to this world as well... as the class hamster. And she has a tendency to chew on Subaru and Subaru only without even realizing it.
Hamsuke: I feel really bad about it...
Subaru: (Already in Hamsuke's mouth again) THEN STOP CHEWING ON ME!
  • Beatrice being tsundere with Mare is worth a chuckle for how adorable it is.
  • Megumin being in charge of the PA with Grantz goes exactly as well as you think it does. Keep in mind that the following conversation is completely broadcast over the PA.
Megumin: Good morning! Let's all do our best today! Here's a song to help you wake up: "Piercing Howl! Coal-Black Storm!"-
Grantz: No! That's not a good song for morning at all!
Megumin: Don't say that! You just don't have the artistic sense to appreciate-
Grantz: I don't want to hear about sense from someone dressed like that!
(Mike feedback as the two wrestle over the microphone)
  • When introducing himself to Subaru, Ainz insists he calls him Ainz. But every time he tries, Albedo corrects him by saying Lord Ainz, complete with murderous purple aura.
  • Upon noticing a strange aura around Subaru's heart, Ainz reaches out to touch Subaru's chest, much to Albedo's jealousy and Subaru's shock at having someone who looks like the Grim Reaper touch his heart.
Ainz: No, I'm sorry. There was something I noticed.
Subaru: I've never had a skeleton touch my chest before. That scared me.
Ainz: (chuckles) And it's the first time I've done it and not crushed somebody's heart.
    Both: (laughing)
    Subaru: THAT'S NOT FUNNY!

    Episode 8: Prepare! Field Trip
  • Ainz proposes a field trip for the class to get closer to each other. Naturally, Aqua objects to an idea that an undead came up with, up until Emilia informs her that the field trip was her idea. Kazuma just stares at Aqua until she relents and agrees to the field trip.
  • Subaru calls for suggestions for activities during the field trip and comments that he hopes for an event that's sexy and romantic. This causes Albedo to immediately fantasize about such an event with Ainz, giving her a MASSIVE Nosebleed. Subaru immediately calls for the class nurses, to which Rem responds, but she also points out that the OTHER nurse is Shalltear, who has collapsed with a nosebleed just like Albedo.
    Subaru: Our nurses are useless!
  • After the class comes up with a few ideas, Emilia calls for any other suggestions. Megumin suggests an Explosion Magic Tournament, while Darkness proposes an Endurance Contest. Ainz just completely ignores them in a manner that probably made Kazuma proud.
Ainz: Okay, nobody has any other ideas.
  • Ainz then suggests that they would need something to do at night, and that particular phrasing causes Albedo to start fantasizing and swooning again. Ainz admits that was a bad way to put it, and rephrases his words as something they can ALL do at night... which causes Darkness to start fantasizing instead.
Ainz: (exasperated) Okay, what's a not bad way to put it?
  • Kazuma suggests a Test of Courage, pointing out that a scary event is perfect at night. Subaru then points out that simply being in the same room as the Overlord group is more terrifying than anything any other classmate could do.
  • After Subaru finishes his perverted depiction of a Test of Courage, he gets brutally shut down by Megumin and then Ram, who both question and confirm respectively that he's crazy and an idiot. This is made even funnier to those who are aware that Megumin and Emilia are voiced by the same Japanese VA, as it means that, in a way, Subaru just got insulted by his crush.
    • However, Albedo sees it in another way and immediately supports the idea
  • Tanya and Viktoriya go shopping for swimsuits, and spot Albedo and Shalltear browsing SPEEDOS for Ainz.
  • Kazuma and Aqua run into Albedo and Shalltear in the shopping center. Naturally, Hilarity Ensues.
    • Kazuma is stunned to discover that Albedo is a succubus, and goes into a lust-driven stupor while asking if she can do the same Erotic Dream shenanigans as the succubi from his own world.
Shalltear: (laughing) That's the usual reaction, isn't it?
      Albedo: What is?
Shalltear: Just look at his face!
      Albedo: It's very unattractive.
    • Shalltear then takes him aside and reveals that Albedo is a virgin. Albedo is furious, up until Aqua of all people defends her, saying that there's no shame in saving yourself for the one you love, and in fact, there is nothing that one should be ashamed of doing. Then she corrects herself and says that the only thing one should be ashamed of is padding their chest, to the delight of Albedo and the immense shock and fury of Shalltear. Albedo is left pounding on the floor out of laughter and ends up having to hold Shalltear back from trying to kill Aqua.
  • The Ruffian from Konosuba makes another cameo appearance in The Stinger while Grantz is just trying to shop.
Ruffian: Boys and girls at the beach... Something is going to happen, for sure.
Grantz: Just ring me up already.

    Episode 9: Enjoy! Field Trip
  • The men of Tanya's squad start to ogle all the girls wearing bikinis, with Weiss saying that this might be Valhalla and that this is their reward for all their suffering in the battlefield. He then says to have fun when...
    Cocytus: Give me 1000 push-ups.
    • As they lament that Cocytus ruined their fun, they noticed that Darkness, wearing a bikini that leaves very little to the imagination, is also doing pushups at a very fast pace. You can imagine the results.
  • Ram's Malicious Misnaming causes some confusion for Viktoriya:
Viktoriya: Your name is Subaru, right?
Ram: Yes, his name is Barusu.
    Viktoriya: (visibly confused) Subaru...Natsuki?
    Ram: Correct. Barusu.
Subaru: Sis, she's really confused, cut it out.
  • Kazuma attempts to use his Lurk skill to watch the girls playing around in their swimsuits, only to be spotted by Tanya and stopped by Demiurge, earning a Flash spell from the latter for his trouble.
  • Once again, Shalltear is painfully reminded of her lacking chest when she notices Rem's generous boobs.
  • Kazuma wins a beach flag race... by Stealing the flag while everyone else dives for it.
  • During the Test of Courage, the first team is composed by Grantz, Mare, Beatrice, and Megumin:
    Grantz: Okay, let's go ladies!
Megumin: Hey, don't try to boss everyone around. That's my job.
Beatrice: I've lived far longer than you have, human.
    Grantz: This is rough.
    Mare: I...
Grantz: Mare is an angel, at least.
    Mare: I'm a boy!
    Grantz: Eh!?
    (beat)
    Megumin & Beatrice: EH!?
  • After Tanya's explosive loss of temper, most of her troops are left reeling, with Grantz having passed out again. She chastises them for lacking mental discipline before Subaru points out that they simply know how scary she is. She concedes to this, then yells that it's no excuse and kicks Grantz awake anyway.

    Episode 10: Join in! Rivals

  • The Reveal that a good chunk of the missing Ensemble Casts of the series' source shows are in the next class over, only going un-noticed because no-one bothered to check. Or that's what Roswaal claims at least. The truth is they simply appeared out of nowhere.
    • Not only that, but their teacher is revealed to be Vanir.
  • In a blink and you will miss it moment, on the blackboard of Class 1 have Tweet Nika Teyanen marked as absent. A callback to Tanya's subordinate who was forced to retire due to food poisoning from eating a rotten potato.
  • Ainz notes that among Class 1 were his combat maids. After Subaru asks him if the concept of "combat maids" is a bit much, Ainz downright calls him out for the hypocrisy:
Subaru: The class next door, Class 1, seemed to have a few students I recognized.
Ainz: My combat maids, the Pleiades, were there, too.
Subaru: "Combat maids"? That's a little much, right?
Ainz: I don't want to hear it from a guy with demon maids hanging off him.
  • Subaru's head getting chewed by Hamsuke again. Afterwards, Hamsuke is put back in the cage and made to hold a sign that says "I'm a bad hamster".
  • After Kazuma reveals he's doesn't want to compete in the competition, everyone else pledges to try their best for it so they can get home. Kazuma then starts saying that he'll try his best too, only to slam his hands on his desk and berate everyone for thinking someone as lazy as him would say that in the face of a few nice words.
  • The moment Tanya replies to Kazuma, every one of her soldiers immediately becomes terrified as they know she is about to put him through Training from Hell.
    Her Soldiers: (look worried)
    Her Soldiers: (Mass "Oh, Crap!")
  • Grantz is once again foaming at the mouth while watching Kazuma's Training from Hell.
  • Mare and Aura find Kazuma's Training from Hell to look like fun, most likely a reference to their training in Episode 1 of Overlord.
  • Unable to contain herself, Megumin can't help but add her Explosion during the Training from Hell.
  • Subaru warns Ainz and Tanya that they are going up against Reinhard in the Field Day. He describes Divine Protection and that Reinhard has a ton of these. Ainz asks him to go into details, and Subura starts going into a Long List stating that Reinhard automatically dodges first, attacks, second attacks, attacks he's not aware of, his ranged attacks never miss, he supposedly can come back to life if he dies, all while a Wall of Text listing off Reinhard's Divine Protections scrolls up. Subaru doesn't even get the chance to finish because a shocked Ainz's interrupts point out that given all of Reinhard's protections he dodges all attacks, and if he comes back to life if he dies on top of that, then how is anybody supposed to beat him?! Ainz, an Invincible Villain who is infamous for not running into any challenges, has run into someone he has no idea how to defeat. Subaru in response admits he has no idea how to defeat Reinhard.

Episode 11: Work Together! Field Day
  • Yunyun shows up to state her intent for her class to win Field Day to Megumin. People are however confused when she mentions that she is a student of Class 3, much to her shock that they've dismissed her. She also proudly says she has been sent by her "friends" to go get Yakisoba Pan, which has both Kazuma and Subaru worried since they both realize she's actually alone.
Kazuma: Be quiet! You're making me sad just listening!
  • Kazuma takes an instant disliking to Julius, something which Subaru completely understands.
  • Megumin manages to become the representative of Class 2 to say a few words before the event begins. She adjusts the mic, puts on her eyepatch, and begins her bombastic speech to the growing horror of Tanya and Ainz. It then cuts to a title card reading "Skipping This".
  • The thought of the likes of the Nazarick Floor Guardians or the Pleiades taking part in leisurely and fun activities such as jump rope and tug-of-war.
  • During the Scavenger Hunt, a perplexed Shaltear discovers that she has to look for "Big Breasts (Real!)", while Albedo is shown laughing in the background. Meanwhile, Yunyun has to look for "A Friend".
  • Reinhardt wins Tug-of-War note  by claiming he has Tug-of-War divine protection, which Subaru exclaims doesn't exist. Reinhardt then wins versus Kazuma, whose "Steal" ability won't work on him, stating he has a divine protection against being stolen from, which Subaru admits sounds like it could be a thing.
    • In the still image of Reinhardt winning the tug-of-war, you can see that Darkness wasn't even trying, instead having bound herself at the end of the rope and loving every second of it.
  • Roswaal and CZ2128 Delta both reveal that the final round is worth 100 million points. Everyone then angrily asks what the point of the other events was.
  • CZ2128 Delta, an emotionless Robot Girl being the commentator, a job usually done by energetic and loud characters.
  • At the final event, while Tanya, Ainz, and Subaru are given encouragement and concern from their friends, Kazuma is pretty much dismissed and expected to fail by Megumin, suggested to get beaten up by Darkness (making her jealous), and treated with utter lack of care by Aqua.
Kazuma: How come I'm the only one treated this way?!
  • Kazuma wonders why Class 3 isn't participating in this event. Looking over to where they should be, all he sees is Yunyun sitting alone on the ground, leading him to believe that Class 3 is just Yunyun.
    • It also raises a question: if Class 3 is just Yunyun, then who bullied her to get Yakisoba pan? Did she bully herself? Did she invent imaginary friends who bullied her?
  • Megumin wonders why Yunyun is suddenly over at Class 2's group, leading her to question if she has any friends at all or if Class 3 even exists. Cocytus tells Megumin to shut up.
  • Just before Class 2 begins their plan, the Teacher's Team joins the event, signified by ripped pieces of paper being taped to the scoreboard. One of the team members is Rerugen, who silently questions "Why me?" and another team member is Pandora's Actor, who dramatically calls out to Ainz as Father.
    (Music stops)
Tanya, Subaru & Kazuma:(Looking at Ainz) Father?
    Ainz: No!
  • Ainz uses Greater Teleportation to get behind the teachers for a surprise attack. Pandora's Actor changes into Ainz to gain access to Greater Teleportation but says it in a much more over-dramatic tone.
  • Class 1 and 2 team up to go after the Teachers, with Kazuma being encouraged by Chris. Cut to Aqua, who has an annoyed look on her face. When Emilia asks what's wrong, Aqua explains she feels like her position is under threat. The funny part is a background event, as both Aura and Mare react to Aqua saying this with Mare giving one of the strangest amused faces a person might make.
  • In the dub, Kazuma's reaction to the Destroyer being summoned.
    Kazuma: Not the *BLEEP* Destroyer!

    Episode 12: Band Together! Quartet
  • As Vanir summons his minions, Pandora's Actor adds in his own tiny minions and the minions form their own quartet with the Vanir servant on top and three Pandora's Actor servants being the horse.
  • Kazuma tries to Steal the headband right off of the Destroyer, but it fails, so he tries it on Roswaal, but it fails as well.
    • After that, Chris reveals that the world changes his stats, which is why he can't Steal right. Then, Kazuma mentions the time he stole her panties, much to her embarrassment.
    • That said, when he tries to Steal from the Destroyer again, he manages to steal a huge bolt right out of one of its legs, causing it to collapse on one side.
  • As Ainz boosts Tanya's Protective Core with his Body of Effulgent Beryl to knock back the Destroyer, Albedo and Shalltear once again get Nosebleeds.
  • After repelling the Destroyer, Ainz grabs onto his team and Kazuma and Subaru immediately guess it'll be bad for them, and sure enough, Ainz throws them all into the air, counting on them to win.
  • When Ainz uses his Summon Undead spell to bring forth an army of skeletons to protect his classmates, Aqua isn't so hyped at the thought of being protected by undead creatures, and notes with irritation that she seems to be surrounded by several more skeletons than anyone else. The most likely cause is her tendency as a goddess to attract the undead (seeking to have her purify their lost souls).

Season 2

    Opening/Ending
Opening
  • The entire dance sequence at the beginning. Even funnier is the fact that both Tanya and Ainz are willingly doing the dance.
  • Though also sad at the same time, in the shot when Kazuma, Tanya, Subaru, and Ainz take their seats up front in the theater, you can see in the far left is Yunyun, all alone in a completely vacant row.
  • A Blink-And-You'll-Miss-It moment, but as everyone is tossing their tophats, you can see Chomusuke wearing one herself and setting it ablaze while Puck crystallizes his.
  • As the song ends, both Subaru and Kazuma get a quick moment of dialogue, which when translated, boils down to saying that this series is a work of fiction.
  • After his debut in Episode 17, all the intros for subsequent episodes now include Betelguese.

Ending

  • The translated lyrics pretty much boil down to the secondary heroines of the series (Visha, Rem, Megumin, and Shalltear) finally getting their chance to shine on stage. The thing is... none of them know what to do, so they decide to improv everything.

Episode 13: Join the Fight! Transfer Student
  • When Naofumi opens the classroom door, he just shuts the door quickly. It turns out, he's not the new transfer student. And then Roswaal pulls out Chomusuke from under his desk and declares that the cat is the transfer student.
Ainz and Tanya: (In their mindset) He's totally missing the point here.
  • Tanya mentions that, after having a demon and an undead as classmates, a cat is normal. Aqua then intervenes by reminding them she's a goddess, only for Tanya to shoot her down a second later, and Darkness agrees with Tanya. Aqua demands Kazuma to tell the others she's a goddess, but Kazuma just lies to Tanya that Aqua is delusional.
Kazuma: Tanya, I'm sorry. Poor Aqua has problems distinguishing reality and fantasy.
    Aqua: NO FAIR!
Tanya: You've got it rough, Kazuma.
    Aqua: YOU'RE ALL SO MEAN!
    • If you look closely on Kazuma during Darkness' comments, he tries not to burst out laughing.
      • We also get one from Megumin, when Aqua begs Kazuma to tell the others she's really a goddess, Megumin tilts her head into view, with a deadpan expression that shows how done she is with her.
    • Even Ainz also questions if Aqua's really a goddess or not.
    • When Aqua begins to cry on her table, Kazuma thinks with a sigh expression that the entire classmates don't believe she's a goddess. But in the dub, we hear otherwise and get this gem:
Kazuma: (thinks while trying not to crack up) No one seems to believe she's a goddess and it's totally hilarious.
  • With the new season comes the new seating arrangement. Subaru points out to Ram that Roswaal can't see her because Cocytus is blocking his vision towards her. Meanwhile, Mare wants to stay where he is because he can see Ainz's back which then prompts Albedo and Shalltear to point out that they are happy that they are beside Ainz. Demiurgos then points out that he has the best position of them all because he can still see Ainz and the blackboard and therefore he can pay attention in class.
    • Roswaal decides to make the new arrangement. Everyone immediately guesses it's going to be picked by a drawing.
    • The new seating arrangement finally happens and Albedo (who is now sitting in the opposite corner from Ainz) begs for another chance for a seating arrangement, but Roswaal ignores her.
    • Also, Puck is now sitting in a different table than Emilia - meaning he's a student as well.
    • Not only that but Ram is still behind Cocytus
  • How do Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo end up in the new world? While they're fighting a monster, Naofumi's shield transforms into a button shield, much to Naofumi's shock, which the monster presses.
  • During the baseball game, Darkness complains that she can't hit anything because of her terrible accuracy. Then on her final strike, she aims for a dead ball by pulling off a Diving Save with her body. Cocytus declares batter out because it's against the rules.
  • Subaru, Aqua and Aura are confused when they see Filo has joined Death Knight and Hamsuke in the pet shed. Aqua decides to fix the additional number of pets by purifying Death Knight before Subaru can realize what is going on. Subaru starts to yell as her as you see she gives a smug Slasher Smile at getting rid of an undead. She somehow revives Death Knight and it's seen rapidly breathing in relief.
  • When he bats, Mare uses his staff instead of a bat.
    • Also, check the background after Naofumi saves Raphtalia and Filo: Mare's bowing and panicking.
  • Filo carrying around Subaru and Aura - and when she transforms into her humanoid form, Aura is left wanting one like her while Subaru is lying on the ground.

Episode 14: Sneak In! The Principal's Office
  • When Aqua offers to help steal the "red stuff" from the Principal's office, Grantz comments that she's nice. Kazuma points out that their mission just became a lot harder, because Aqua's luck is bad. Aqua promptly proves it by tripping the very obvious trap.
  • After Aqua sets off a laser tripwire trap, Grantz worries what would happen if Tanya got wind of their situation, thinking she'd yell at them for not being more careful regarding traps, while Koenig and Neumann say otherwise, saying that she would yell at them for actually attempting to steal wine.
  • Then the framed flag of the Empire falls off to reveal a hole that spits out four Giant Toads. When asked about them, Kazuma says they aren't very strong - but, as Neumann soon discovers, punching them doesn't work. Soon, he and Grantz are swallowed by two of the toads.
  • When Koenig decides to sacrifice himself, Aqua and Kazuma call him "horse-faced guy" (Horse Face in the dub), even after he tells them his name.
  • There's only one toad not swallowing anyone, Aqua expects Kazuma to sacrifice himself due to a huge speech he gave to Koenig. Instead, Kazuma reveals he has no thoughts of that and goes invisible. Aqua runs away screaming while the Giant Toad jumps after her.
  • On the way, Aqua finds Naofumi and Raphtalia and begs for their help, offering them her blessings. Naofumi just uses the Shield Prison around himself and Raphtalia.
    • Note dub-wise, Aqua is voiced by Faye Mata, who also voiced Malty/Myne/Bitch, one of Naofumi's worst enemies.
  • The toad eats Aqua, leaving the red wine bottle on the ground. Kazuma grabs it victorious - and right on time, Roswaal arrives to ruin Kazuma's good mood, giving the five would-be thieves detention.
    • Also amusing is the fact that Ram somehow found out what they were planning and decided to rat them out... all with a smug grin on her face.
  • The fact that the wine is never referred to as such even once. Every character involved in the scheme calls it "the red stuff" instead, even Aqua, the resident alcoholic, who also apparently tried to find her "bubbly stuff" as well at some point.

    Episode 15: Uh-Oh! Detention!
  • As Rerugen explains that Kazuma, Aqua, Grantz, Koenig, and Neumann received detention for the events of the last episode, he requests that the class be extra nice to them, and nods to Tanya in particular to do the same. She doesn't catch on, and interprets this as needing to give them extra punishment.
    • Meanwhile, Ainz catches on and realizes the two are not thinking the same.
Ainz: (thinking) Oh, these two are not saying what the other thinks they're saying.
  • Turns out that the said detention in this world... is pretty terrifying, as the person running it is Kyohukou and just like back in Nazarick, his room is cockroach-infested, only as this is another world, the cockroaches don't eat the occupants, but rather only crawl in and out of their bodies through the holes such as noses and ears, but still terrifying. When Darkness and Megumin bump into Kazuma and Aqua, the two look like they got violated, complete with cockroaches in their hair and mouth.
    Kazuma: Detention... that wasn't detention...
Aqua: The black demons come... so many of them...
    • Grantz, Koenig, and Neumann come onto the scene too, with the same expressions.
  • Subaru explains to Emilia what actually is in the detention room, and describes what happens in there. Puck, on the other hand, thinks he's into that.
  • As Darkness ponders what to do to get the group out of detention, Megumin has one suggestion:
    Megumin: Let's give up.
    Darkness: No! That's cruel!
    • It's even funnier, seeing that this is coming from Darkness, the resident masochist of the group. Note to self, you know the place is really really bad if even Darkness would want nothing to do with it.
  • Emilia and Subaru go to Rerugen to try to get Kazuma and co.'s detention reduced. The latter turns around twice, noting that Emilia is such an angel, unlike Tanya.
    • All of a sudden, we see Vanir looking at him with a blank expression.
  • In order to get out of detention, Subaru, Emilia, Darkness, and Megumin have to figure out how to get Kazuma and co. to do a good deed. Realizing it's science period next, Megumin begins maniacally laughing, while Darkness catches onto what the former plans to do.
  • Subaru catches Chomusuke lighting a bunsen burner on fire. When telling Megumin, she denies everything, claiming she's just a cat, and cats don't do that.
  • What was Megumin's plan to get Kazuma and co. out of detention? BLOW UP A BUNSEN BURNER TRYING TO LIGHT IT, CAUSING A FLOOD.
    • There's also the fact that Roswaal doesn't even notice what's happening until it happens. When he does see the damage of Megumin's explosion, he simply says that everyone has their bad days... though he does say immediately after that the flood is a bit much.
  • Aqua keeps calling Koenig "Horse-Faced Man" (Horse Face in the dub), to his displeasure.
  • When Aqua declares herself as the Goddess of Water, Kazuma immediately steps in to call her the "Goddess of Party-Tricks".
    • Kazuma holds onto that name when Aqua expels the water from the school, calling her power a party trick.
  • Koenig, Neumann, and Grantz are all amazed at Aqua's powers, initially thinking she was just dumb.
  • While stopping the flood was a good deed in and of itself, what was the deed that truly got Kazuma and co. out of detention? Saving the principal's cigars from being ruined by the flood.
  • Kyohukou asks Roswaal if he'd like to join him for afternoon tea. Roswaal just flat out refuses.

Episode 16: Pinch! Test of Learning!
  • Ainz asks Mr. Roswaal if it is possible to fail this upcoming test, and immediately after, all of the Floor Guardians declare that they will not fail (with Aura even taking a dig at Shalltear). However, that's not what his concern was about. His concern was that he himself might failnote .
    • He later passes off his concerns under the guise that failing may have real-world consequences, knowing some of his classmates are poor test-takers... all while looking at Aqua while he says this.
  • After Ainz unintentionally insults Aqua, the latter challenges him to see who gets a better score. Poor Ainz internally freaks out but tries to pass it off by menacingly asking whether she's certain about challenging him. This completely backfires on him.
  • After class, Kazuma and Tanya both give Aqua grief about challenging Ainz, noting that she doesn't actually pay attention in class. Kazuma takes it one step further and says that her Intelligence Stat is below normal without increasing. Aqua's reaction is exactly as you would expect.
  • While in the library, Puck complains that he's bored and wants to go to sleep. Emilia tells him he can't and has to study hard. In the next shot that we see Puck, he's already asleep.
  • While Chris is tutoring Felt, Kazuma and Aqua bump into the two, with Felt calling him "Bro's Friend bro".
    • As Chris explains that she taught Kazuma the thief skills he knows, Felt asks him what he's stolen:
Chris: YOU DIDN'T NEED TO SAY THAT!
  • The day of the test, Ainz catches Tanya glancing at him, and he has an inner dialogue with himself, saying it hurts knowing that she sees too highly of him.
  • Grantz immediately glances at Kazuma and tells him not to steal other people's answer sheets. Megumin vouches for him and says he's more intelligent than he lets on, with Tanya apologizing for underestimating him...
    • ... only for him to say to himself that he won't tell her that he was planning to steal Tanya's answer sheet.
  • Somehow, Subaru actually heard Kazuma's inner-dialogue, to the latter's denial.
  • The image of Chomusuke actually taking the test herself, with a pencil in her mouth.
  • Ainz decides to resort to cheating by using a Tier-10 spell, Time Stopnote . He thinks it works and was about to copy Visha's answers... until he realizes that Aqua isn't affected due to her goddess status, who starts fooling around by pulling away Roswaal's chair, sticking pencils in Kazuma's nostrils and copying his answers. Ainz quickly returns back to his seat and doesn't move without Aqua catching him.
    • However Ainz soon finds out that both Tanya (who catches Aqua cheating) and Subaru (who's unable to concentrate due to the noise) are not affected as well.
    • What's hilarious is that in Overlord, no one can even reach Tier-10 magic, and yet it doesn't affect Aqua, Subaru, and Tanya in this world.
      • In the dub, Ainz gives off a hilarious scream when he discovers that Subaru is immune to his time stop as well.
  • Eventually, Ainz decides to cancel the magic. Upon cancellation, Tanya and Subaru quickly rush back to their seats, while Aqua was left confused. This causes her to be caught by Mr. Roswaal, which he punished her by telling her to stand outside the hallway. Ainz internally apologizes to Aqua for the misunderstanding.
    Aqua: WHYYYYYYYY?!!?
    • Kazuma's reaction to the pencils, which are still in his nose:
Kazuma: It's kind of hard to breat— PENCILS?!
  • There is something amusing about an Undead Lich being ashamed of having resorted to cheating whereas a Goddess giddily copies off her teammate's work without a care.
  • Despite Aqua having pulled out his chair while Time Stop was activated, Roswaal doesn't fall down when time resumes.
  • After Ainz answers the best he could, he realizes his answer sheet looks familiar. Remembering that the test was written by Pandora's Actor, Ainz resorts to just bubbling answers to resemble him, thinking it might work. The funny part? It does, and Ainz gets full marks on the test. Demiurge and Visha have an "As expected from Lord Ainz!" moment while Ainz sighs that he's off the hook but not in the way he expected.

Episode 17: Work Hard! Valentine's Day!
  • The reactions of fans when they discover who's making an appearance this episode:
Commenter #1: "Oh hey the new trailer for the new episode is out, looks pretty co-oh, ohhhhh, OHHHHHH NOOOOOO!!!"
Commenter #2: "Pass i just cant. Im get ptsd again from even staring at him for long"
Commenter #3: "Isn't Albedo good friends with Rem? Oh boy, this won't go well..."
Commenter #4: "NO, NOOOOO, PETELGUESE SHOULD STAY FREAKIN DEAD"
Commenter #5: "Betelgeuse and Albedo's faces gonna be inside my nightmare tonight"
  • Betelguese even gets himself into the OP sequence for this episode... and then in the subsequent episodes after this one!
  • When Megumin explains Valentine's Day to Emilia and Visha, the latter says that it would be a waste to give chocolate to anyone else because she loves chocolate.
  • The fact that Megumin says that Kazuma never experienced Valentine's Day before in his life and that the only chocolate he received is from his mother is funny and sad at the same time.
  • Visha asks Emilia who is she giving chocolate to, and she simply says she'll give some to Puck, who says he'll do the same, with Visha questioning if that's how it works.
    • Later when learning about obligation chocolate, Emilia says that she'll give some to Subaru, with Megumin thinking it must suck to be him.
  • Tanya later enters the scene, with Emilia telling her they're talking about Valentine's Day. Tanya ends up going on this spiel about capitalism and religion.
  • Albedo and Betelguese together as the former plans to make chocolate for Ainz. Hilarity ensues.
    • When Betelguese asks her what kind of chocolate does she want to make for Ainz, Albedo replies with a dark, bitter chocolate "covered in her love for him"... feel like we've heard something like this before...
    • Meanwhile, Kazuma is seen outside peeking from a window, saying that he needs to stay away from these weirdos.
  • Turns out Captain Weiss does not understand Valentine's Day in the slightest. Koenig, Neumann, and Grantz have to explain to him how the day truly works, but to no avail.
    • When Neumann tries explaining it, it turns out he doesn't even understand it either, thinking it's a day where you ask a girl for chocolate politely. Weiss thinks this is actually how it works.
    • In the dub, it's implied that Neumann flat out lied to Weiss so that he would embarrass himself to set him straight.
  • Later, Kazuma is asked by Neumann to show Weiss how to receive Chocolate. Kazuma shows him, by bowing with his hands out, literally screaming "GIVE ME CHOCO!!". When he leaves, Kazuma has a moment of snickering, seeing that Weiss fell for it, and Grantz says there's no way that is true.
    • Weiss takes Kazuma's advice and tries asking Rem, Shalltear, and Darkness for chocolate. His thirst for chocolate turns him into a zombie-like being, and the three of them perceive this as an attack, with Rem absolutely putting him out of commission with her ice spell.
  • Seeing Weiss in this dejected state has Grantz say he actually feels bad for the poor guy.
    • When Tanya and Subaru walk in, Weiss tries what Kazuma told him, only more depressed. Tanya has to tell him that he just got played.
  • Turns out Betelguese is not even a teacher, nor is he faculty. He's actually trespassing. When Sebas discovers him, he makes quick work of him by throwing him out a window, with Betelguese screaming "Desu!"note  multiple times on the way out.
  • The ending montage has some gems too:
    • Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness all give Kazuma chocolate. Immediately in the next shot, we see Cocytus and Demiurge looking at Kazuma, cheering and happy as he can be.
    • Subaru literally crying tears of joy after receiving a small box of chocolate from Emilia (which is obligation chocolate), and seems to be unaware Rem is trying to give him a box of chocolate about four times her size.
    • Grantz, Neumann, and Koenig all giving Beatrice chocolate, with Puck and Chomusuke looking at them from behind.
    • Visha and Weiss looking jealously at Yunyun, with her arms filled with chocolate.
    • Lupusregina looking all starry-eyed at Chris's pile of chocolate.
      • Meanwhile in the background, Felt is acting all tsundere towards Reinhard with a chocolate bar in his hand, while Julius is just enjoying a platter of chocolate-coated treats.
    • Solution Epsilon, CZ Delta, Yuri Alpha, and Narberal Gamma all at a chocolate store ran by Konosuba's Ruffian, and even Betelguese is there looking approvingly at the display.
    • Even Hamsuke receives chocolate from the Death Knight!
    • Entoma receiving a cockroach from Kyohukou... with the latter looking all sad that one of his cockroaches are being eaten.
    • Even though we don't see his face, but the startled reaction that Mr. Rerugen has when Tanya shows up with chocolate for him, all with a genuine smile on her face.
      • Also in the background is Pandora's Actor and Vanir looking onwards.
  • Ainz is given chocolate by Aura, Shalltear, Albedo, and Mare. Later we see him sitting at a desk alone, feeling somewhat sad. Why? He can't even eat the chocolate. note

    Episode 18: Clash! Dodgeball!
  • The beginning of the episode has Tanya and Ainz in some sort of argument. It's presented as a serious one... but it turns out they're arguing over what they put on karaagenote .
    • Which is even funnier for Ainz because... well... he can't even eat karaage!
  • In a flashback sequence, we see Visha gushing over the karaage, with Cocytus questioning whether they're that good, with Ram saying he should be ashamed as a warrior for not having it.
  • Tanya asks Ainz if he wants to go to the butcher's with her to pick up some karaage, and although Ainz agrees, again, he can't eat it.
  • When asked what does he put on his karaage: Salt and Pepper or Ketchup, Subaru replies with mayo. Tanya responds that they may also fight as well.
    • Even Ainz is disappointed, which is ironic because he ca— you get the idea already.
  • Apparently while this entire argument is going on, Mr. Rerugen was standing in the room in silence, watching this happen, before getting everyone's attention because class is about to start. The fact that he was standing in the room the whole time letting this unfurl, is funny in and of itself.
    • His lecture? The clash of opinions, and he even uses the karaage debate as an example - which he admits sounds dumb when said out loud.
  • Turns out both Rem and Ram prefer salt and pepper over Subaru's mayo. When asked, Ram simply says it's embarrassing to have the same preferences as him, while Rem, on the other hand, reaffirms that she is on Subaru's side... except for this one momentnote .
  • Apparently Cocytus is the only Floor Guardian to choose salt over ketchup, with all the others choosing what Ainz chooses. Cocytus has to essentially assure himself that he isn't disloyal.
  • Between the whole class, mayo actually got the most votes somehow. When Subaru essentially starts rubbing it in, Tanya and Ainz tell him to shut it.
    • In the dub, Tanya and Ainz actually call him out for being so basic. Just hearing that from those two is hilarious in and of itself.
  • Deciding to end this discussion over a game of dodgeball, Rerugen says that they need to find a way to even out the teams. How do they do so? They rope in Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo into this, who were simply walking by.
    • Even Naofumi has no general idea what's happening, but agrees to play because Filo wants to.
  • Poor Raphtalia gets split from Naofumi and Filo, who are put on Team Salt & Pepper while she is put on Team Ketchup. On the other hand, Naofumi even gets a laugh in when he realizes what team Rapthalia is on, thinking it suits her.
  • The fact that Neumann calls Naofumi "Shield Bro" was enough to make the Shield Hero community lose their minds.
  • Rem and Ram decide to do an impressive kick maneuver, using Cocytus as a springboard. Meanwhile, Aura and Mare decide to mimic their move, using a struggling Weiss as a springboard. All four of them are eliminated because they can't kick the ball.
  • Even Chomusuke successfully throws the ball using her mouth, with Subaru saying she is not any normal cat, to Megumin's denial.
    • Meanwhile, when Puck uses his magic to augment Emilia's ball, the tables turn, with Megumin saying he's not a normal cat.
  • Albedo breaks out her secret move Walls of Jericho, which entails her performing the submission move on Grantz to summon the actual Walls of Jericho to protect Ainz.
  • When the ball targets Naofumi, what is his response? Bust out the Rage Shield to block it.
    • Even Raphtalia calls him out for going that far.
    • One could say he’s a bit salty about being dragged into the game.
  • As the game draws near to an end, Megumin has an idea and whispers an idea for a combo-attack with Ainz, much to Albedo's jealous rage.
  • Megumin and Ainz prepare for their combo-attack with explosion magic. When Megumin starts chanting, Ainz doesn't do the same, and the former tells him he has to chant with her, complete with Kazuma bowing in embarrassment.
  • Subaru and Kazuma pointing out that despite Ainz and Tanya apologizing to each other for acting childish, it's surprising that Tanya - basically a little girl - recognizes her own childishness, and that Ainz is neither a child nor an adult.
  • Once the game ends, everyone forgets what they were even arguing about, concluding it was something dumb (to Naofumi's agreement). They all agree to go out for croquettes... and then Tanya basically restarts the whole argument again, leaving everyone to question her silently.

    Episode 19: Excitement! Physicals Day!
  • The episode begins with a... rather questionable moment involving a shirtless Mare asking if he's gotten any bigger, complete with a romantic pink back drop... turns out he's just being weighed by Vanir, who reports his weight hasn't changed.
    • The dub gives us this gem from Vanir:
Vanir: You're still tiny with comically oversized ears!
      Mare: Oh, right.
  • When Visha notes to Ram that she and Rem are exactly alike, Ram retorts that the only difference is in breast size... not like Ram cares at all.
  • The two get stopped repeatedly by Pandora's Actor, who looks like he wants to talk to Ram... but in truth wants to gush over Visha's military outfit, complete with Ram's signature "Ha!".
  • Shalltear gets excited that physicals are happening because she might get the chance to measure Ainz up, and is immediately disappointed to find out the class is being separated by gender. When she protests about this (to Darkness' admiration), both Ainz and Kazuma mentally apologize for them.
  • Turns out Kazuma has a problem with the gender separation as well, as Vanir was able to decipher that Kazuma wanted to peep on the girls.
    • Vanir warns that trying to sneak into the nurse's office (where the girls are) would be a problem as long as Naofumi (who's helping to measure the guys) is here. Turns out he doesn't actually care but recommends against anyways due to the negative reputation it may bring him. Subaru takes a dig at Kazuma, saying he's used to it. Kazuma agrees and then realizes what Subaru said.
  • Kazuma denies his desire to see the girls naked, with Demiurge immediately calling him out for his stunts at the beach trying to peep at the girls in their bikinis.
    • Not long afterward, all the guys in Class 2 are nominating Kazuma to head to the nurse's office to peep - including Ainz, who notes that the former has the highest luck among them.
  • Seeing Ainz in nothing but shorts and sneakers is a sight to behold.
  • Rem has to restrain both Albedo and Shalltear, who also had the same idea to peep on Ainz. They try to appeal to her to release them, in which Rem replies she can give Subaru a "private physical" later, to the pair's delight over the idea.
    • The fact that Rem, a simple oni, is able to restrain both Albedo and Shalltear, two of the strongest Floor Guardians, at the same time, is funny in itself.
  • Poor Wiz is having a hard time measuring Tanya's height, due to her cowlick.
  • Subaru admits that while he wants to peep too, he's not the type to sneak around, to Cocytus' approval, calling him a warrior. Meanwhile, Julius in the background thinks to himself that Subaru's starting to learn what it means to be a knight, resulting in giving Subaru chills, because he feels someone thinks they're better than him.
  • Weiss, on the other hand, admits that his team is more into having fun than peeping on the girls. Subaru thinks it's because Tanya will murder them if they tried, but it turns out Tanya doesn't care, just as long as they don't violate military code.
    • Koenig, Neumann, and Grantz overhear him and say that they'll tell her he said that, with an annoyed Naofumi telling them to get on the damn scale.
  • Megumin goes on this spiel about how removing her eyepatch during the eye exam will unleash a great evil, to an incredulous Tanya's annoyance, who essentially tells her to grow up.
    • Her shirt also spells out "Explosion"
    • The entire conversation started because Megumin was taking the eye exam with the eye covered by her eyepatch and being prideful that she obviously couldn't see anything.
  • While with Grantz sometime before the episode's events, they're stopped by Pandora's Actor, who gushes over Megumin's eyepatch, complete with speaking German. Naturally, Megumin gushes over that and shakes him to know what it means. All the while Grantz is snarking at the both of them and eventually asking that they pay attention to him.
    • There's also this golden exchange:
Megumin: Ainz Ooal Gown? From the name, I can tell he's no ordinary man.
Pandora's Actor: You couldn't tell from the fact that he's a skeleton?
  • When Megumin begins admiring Ainz and praising him, you can see a beyond jealous Albedo shaking.
    • In the background, poor Wiz is having trouble measuring Filo as well, due to her cowlick.
  • Poor Kazuma came too late to peep on the girls. Turns out they expected him to do this, with Darkness noting he came later than usual.
  • After the physicals are over, Albedo approaches Ainz, and says she is the only one to appeal to his tastes, not Megumin, complete with another "Ha!" from Ram.

    Episode 20: Challenge! Part-Time Job!
  • After their class with Pandora's Actor ends, Demiurge notes that Kazuma actually stayed awake for once, the latter saying that he'd worry about the guy who could fall asleep with his yelling.
  • When Subaru and Kazuma ask if Tanya feels lonely since Visha's been leaving right after class, Subaru says he'd prefer if she would express her denial like a little girl, and immediately passes the statement to Beatrice, to her anger.
  • As Subaru and his group prepare to leave for the butcher's, Weiss and Kazuma note that Subaru's really popular, and then Kazuma's party wants to go to where they want to go. As they leave, Weiss notes that Kazuma's really popular in a depressing tone.
    • Apparently Weiss has been feeling down since Valentine's Day.
  • Subaru and his group spot Visha working at the butcher's. When he reports this to Tanya, to her surprise, Ainz and Kazuma's groups both say they've spotted her too... except working at the convenience and department store respectively. The issue gets so big they conduct an investigation over the matter.
    • Now she's spotted at even more locations. Aura notes the doughnut shop, Koenig says the ramen place, Shalltear mentions the karaoke club, Cocytus says the handicrafts store, to Kazuma and Aqua's surprise.
  • The idea of Cocytus, of all people, being into handicrafts is absolutely amazing and hilarious. It does make a bit of sense, since his creator, Takemikazuchi, was a bit of a crafter... albeit, one focused on building a good enough sword.
  • The reason Visha's been working so many part-time jobs? She wants to try the special lunch dish in the cafeteria.
  • After hearing about the special lunch dish, now everyone in Class 2 is holding a part-time job, such as Kazuma and Darkness at the convenience store, and Subaru's group at the karaoke place.
    • When entering a karaoke room to deliver food, Subaru spots the Pleiades maids in said room, with CZ Delta singing (really her just saying "ahhhh..." in the microphone in a monotone voice), Narberal Gamma deadpan shaking maracas, and Lupusregina Beta cheering on CZ.
    • As Subaru talks to Yuri Alpha, Solution Epsilon swipes the honey toast he was serving and eats it in one go. When he notices, Entoma Vasilissa Zeta suggests that he must have dropped it somewhere and Lupusregina tells him to make another. Subaru then points out that Solution is chewing on something. Solution gulps it down and claims she has no idea what he's talking about. Subaru doesn't buy it one bit.
  • At the karaoke place, Emilia gets a call to extend a booking for another hour. Who was said occupant? Yunyun, all alone. And the song she's singing is apparently a duet.
  • As we get a montage of where everyone is working, we also see the Ruffian from Konosuba working as many jobs.
    • Aura and Mare working at a doughnut shop, with Felt and Reinhard eyeing the display.
    • Neumann and Koenig working at a ramen joint, with Mr. Rerugen, Principal Rudersdorf, and Hans von Zettour watching in amazement and awe.
    • Cocytus manning the register at the handicrafts store, ringing up Naofumi and company. Poor Cocytus somehow gets tangled in string.
    • Shalltear, Weiss, and Tanya working at a pastry shop, with Mr. Roswaal looking approvingly at a display.
  • Visha finally puts in the order for her $300 lunch. When she presses the button to order it... nothing happens for a good fifteen seconds.
    • Everyone gets startled by the sound the button makes, as it is the same sound the button that teleported them here made.
  • That $300 lunch? It's absolutely huge. The only thing worth special about it was simply its size, and nothing else.
    • Meanwhile, everyone is amazed by the fact that she can eat so much, with Aqua questioning how can someone of her stature eat so much, and Ram even expressing that she's terrified.
  • Who serves Visha her lunch? The Ruffian, or to Kazuma, "the butcher".
    • Then all of a sudden, Ainz, Tanya, Cocytus, and Shalltear start getting into a discussion over what his job is, because, like Visha, he was seen everywhere.
  • To make up for Visha's "silliness", Tanya treats everyone to coffee. Even Ainz takes some, despite not being able to drink. When Subaru asks why order coffee then, Ainz simply replies that it would be sad otherwise, with Kazuma calling him "cute", to his disapproval.

    Episode 21: Investigate! First Errand!
  • The fact that Class 1 is doing a play for the upcoming school festival, and Naofumi of all people is willingly agreeing to partake in the performance is amusing.
  • Tasked with figuring out what kind of play do people want to see, Filo first approaches Aura, Subaru, and Aqua. Turns out neither of them actually knew there was a school festival.
    • Hamsuke wants to see a play about Ainz, to Death Knight's agreement. Aqua immediately shuts her down and purifies the latter.
  • Aura tells Aqua off, asking her to be nice to the others, while also calling her a Tsundere, complete with a smug grin on her face.
    • Even Subaru tells Aqua off, telling her she lost this argument the moment a child lectures her.
    • The fact that Ainz dubs Aqua as "The Tsundere" is funny in and of itself.
  • Just the fact that the only class that knew that there's a school festival is Class 1, and that Class 2 has no idea about it because Mr. Roswaal said nothing about it.
  • The next group of people Filo runs into are Ainz, Albedo, and Shalltear, in which the latter two are fawning over him.
    • Filo ends up having a hard time remembering his name, calling him "Skeleton Man", "Skeleton Guy", and "Grandpa".
      • That Ainz mentally commends her for trying is great too.
    • The moment they hear about Hamsuke's suggestion, Albedo and Shalltear jump up in agreement. That said agreement breaks down immediately once they begin arguing over who will play his empress.
      • As soon as they agree to it Ainz's emotional suppression kicks in, meaning he knew damn well where this was going and wanted no part of it.
  • Meanwhile, Kazuma and Tanya's groups are together watching over Megumin's explosion. Tanya praises the effectiveness of it but disapproves of the incantation. Megumin goes full chuuni over her remark, saying shorter incantations aren't cool.
    • Turns out Kazuma doesn't even know whether Megumin even needs to say the incantations, to begin with.
  • After receiving a book about fairy tales from Mare, Filo goes to Beatrice to give her thanks as well, only to not be able to actually say it properly, resorting to simply "Beako". She was not pleased in the slightest.
  • Beatrice laments no longer having someone she believes in next to her anymore, unlike Mare. When the latter suggests Subaru, she gets royally pissed.
  • Lupusregina Beta simply appears behind Filo and attempts to "help" her by giving suggestions on themes for the play. Unfortunately for her, Yuri Alpha and Narberal Gamma catch onto what she's doing and give her a good smack. On three occasions.
    • The fact that Lupusregina is doing whatever she can to see how far she can bend the school rules is somewhat amusing.
    • Also a bit of black comedy, but one of the "stories" that Lupusregina comes up with for Filo? A poor bird being turned into fried chicken. The fact she says this right in front of Filo no less, is both funny and all sorts of messed up at the same time.
  • Lupusregina insists on spicing up the play by coming up with a more "interesting" story, while at the same time taking a dig at Narberal's acting skills. It does not go well for her, as Lupusregina ends up getting her face grabbed by Narberal... again, on three occasions. Poor Lupusregina can't seem to catch a break.
  • Koenig and Neumann enter the scene, asking what the group is doing, with Narberal responding in the most Narberal way possible - tearing into them with insults.
    • What does Lupusregina suggest for the play after this? The Ugly Duckling.
  • After taking off, Filo thanks the group, as well as call Koenig and Neumann "old guys". It takes the two a second to realize what she said.
  • After reading through the story, Reinhard, Felt, Naofumi, and Raphtalia all like the story. Reinhard, in particular, likes it quite a bit for one line: "The real me was actually very noble", and says this right to Felt's face, to her anger note .
  • Raphtalia is bummed Naofumi didn't ask her to help, so Naofumi promises to let her help next time, to her disappointment because she's being treated like a child again.

Episode 22: Rise Up! School Festival!
  • Ainz immediately calls out Roswaal when he's about to go over what could happen if Class 2's stall is a success, remembering that during the sports event last season, he said they could go home if they won, but they didn't.
  • When Class 2 is finally being informed about the school festival, the only thing Visha is excited for is the food... or rather one thing in particular, which she keeps screaming about:
    Visha: CHOCOLATE BANANA!!
    • Even better, in the very next shot, Weiss is also drooling over the thought of food in the background.
    • What makes Visha's moments better is that she wasn't even paying attention to what was going on, and Aqua's remark about eating food during the festival was all it took to get her attention.
      • Her sudden outburst wasn't even tempted either. Just the very mention of food caused Visha to stand at attention and scream "CHOCOLATE BANANA!", to Grantz's bewilderment.
  • When Roswaal tells the class that Class 1 is doing The Ugly Duckling, we see Ram immediately glance at Subaru, who can already tell she's doing so, to her denial.
  • Class 2's play is going to be on Cinderella, and Shalltear is rather angry because Ainz is not playing the role of the prince. What is he playing as? One of the horses pulling the carriage. The sheer idea is amusing enough, but the visuals are pretty hilarious.
    • It also isn't just Ainz that's cast as a horse. Subaru, Kazuma, and Tanya are all also horses. It's both ironic and amusing in a way, seeing that the leads of the four shows that make up the quartet in Isekai Quartet get relegated to background roles with next to no importance in the play.
    • Earlier, Shalltear complains that all royalty in the world, including role as the prince character, should be reigned by someone as grand as Ainz, only for Wiz to remark that if Ainz was given the prince role then it means he would marry Ram's Cinderella. Sure enough, Shalltear are having none of that.
    • Meanwhile, Naofumi laments being cast as the Ugly Duckling. Shalltear decides to rub it in his face, saying that she might come to watch him, which ends up backfiring with Naofumi immediately responding with a comeback of his own saying he might come to see her lord as a horse, which angers her as Wiz tries to diffuse the argument.
    • Before this scene, Naofumi says that he actually likes the story of Cinderella, for only one reason. Why is this? Because just like in his world, all the women who treated Cinderella poorly get what's coming to them in the endingnote .
  • While Kazuma and Cocytus are setting up for the play, all Aqua is doing is performing party tricks and not helping at all. Seems about right for her.
  • Ainz asks Tanya if she can go with him to get supplies. She agrees and has to remind a beyond jealous Albedo that they're only getting supplies, not doing anything romantic.
  • Aqua appears to be playing the role of the Fairy Godmother. When she goes on a spiel about her goddess status, Ram, Ainz, and Tanya have to shut her down, saying her line is too long.
  • Guess what Class 2's food stall is selling? Chocolate bananas.
    • And who's manning the stall? Visha and Weiss, the two characters who cherish chocolate. Even Puck is questioning whether they need so much chocolatenote .
  • Ram's playing the role of Cinderella... only problem is her line delivery is so monotone.
    • One of her lines is asking one of her stepsisters, played by Darkness, how can they act so cruel to her. Darkness questions whether she's supposed to be doing the bullying, or is she getting bullied, and Demiurge questions whether this is in the script.
  • The Destroyer that we see in Episode 20 begins to move this episode, and trashes the pen where Hamsuke and Death Knight sleep in, and the arch that Kazuma, Aqua, and Cocytus made. When Emilia, Rem, Subaru, Kazuma, and Aqua discover what happened, Aqua begins to throw a tantrum. How does Rem get her attention? Unleash her oni horn.
    • While Aqua laments that it will be impossible to fix by the next day, Rem thinks otherwise and pleads with her to do their best. Kazuma notes that her pressuring abilities are incredible.
  • Aqua ends up agreeing to help fix the arch half-assed, but Rem wants to do it from step one— no, from zero, complete with doves and Chomusuke flying behind her. Unfortunately for Aqua, the purity and wholesomeness of this scene resulted in a flash of bright light blinding her.

Episode 23: It Begins! School Festival!
  • While talking to her subordinates, Tanya warns them that while they are allowed to let loose, drinking "the water of life" is forbidden. Meanwhile, Koenig and Neumann decide to take a dig at Weiss and say the probability of him causing problems are now very low, to poor Weiss's protests that he's not that bad.
    • Meanwhile, Visha comes onto the scene, and within the short amount of time the festival was running, she managed to acquire a mask, a large bag of goodies, three boxes of food, two kebabs, and a candied apple. Even Tanya notes that she's having the most fun out of all of them.
    • Just like in Episode 14, it's somewhat funny hearing alcohol not be referenced as such. First, it was the Red Stuff, then the Bubbly Stuff, and now "The Water of Life".
  • Class 2's chocolate banana stand actually ran out of food, to Filo's sadness. According to Beatrice, someone tried one too many, with Weiss in the corner kneeling in shame.
  • There was a competition to see who has the best muscles. It should be no surprise that despite Grantz and Mare in the running, Cocytus was the clear winner.
  • Seiya and Ristarte from Cautious Hero make an official appearance! While the latter wants to go to the festival, Seiya flat out drags her to leave because it might be dangerous.
    • What's even funnier, is that the pair leave right when they arrive and that Seiya is once again completely right as the Destroyer revives and starts rampaging.
  • While Aqua is busy taking shots at a shooting gallery with no avail, Megumin and Kazuma leave her behind because the play is about to begin. Despite Emilia insisting that she shall wait for her, Kazuma tells her she can leave her be.
    • Now Kazuma thinks Emilia's a total angel, and Megumin immediately catches on that he would want to trade his party for her... and he doesn't even deny it.
    • Even funnier is that that was going to be her guess, but Kazuma stops her from guessing and flat out says that.
  • While also pretty sad at the same time, Yunyun's play turns out to be The Little Match Girl, with her playing all the roles and the narrator.
    • Even Yuri Alpha notes that her ability to perform all these roles is impressive and questions how much time has she spent alone.
  • As Class 2 prepares for their play, Reinhard enters the scene greeting Kazuma, while Kazuma calls him "The Cheater". The former notes that he sounds just like Subaru, and then Subaru himself calls him a cheater, effectively proving his point.
  • Just the sight of Ainz having a horse mask on top of his head is hilarious in and of itself. Poor Ainz has to insist that others do not look up at the mask but at his face instead.
    • Meanwhile, Naofumi's in the exact same situation, with Raphtalia and Filo noting that he looks cute, and Kazuma, Subaru, and Tanya sympathizing with him, all while Ainz questions why are they not sympathizing with him.
    • On the other hand, Filo finds Ainz with the horse mask cute, and calls him a "cute horsey". Tanya catches on, and calls him the same, to his disdain.
  • After being told by Albedo that the Destroyer has returned, and Tanya, Ainz, Subaru, and Kazuma, as well as Naofumi, Julius, and Reinhard prepare to combat it. However, Mr. Roswaal says they cannot. Why? Their plays are about to begin.
  • Albedo tells Ainz that she, Aqua, Emilia, Visha, and Puck will stop the Destroyer. Despite Tanya's protests, Kazuma insists that each of them is capable of such a task... just as long as Aqua doesn't ruin everything.
Tanya: I was fine a moment ago, but now I'm worried.
    Kazuma: Yes. Me too.
  • Raphtalia also insists that Naofumi allow her and Filo to help their classmates, because he has an important job to do... and he can't fight with a duck mask on his head.
  • With Aqua out fighting the Destroyer, no one has the role of the Fairy Godmother. Kazuma asks Megumin if she can take up the role, and she initially refuses. How do Tanya and Ainz convince her? Basically by pissing her off enough that she forcibly takes up the role.
  • Seeing Demiurge in a dress is a rather... interesting sight to look at.

Episode 24: The Show Begins! Showtime!
  • Again, Demiurge in a dress. Just the mere sight is amusing.
  • During the performance, Darkness (playing one of the step-sisters) ends up dropping character twice, because she was getting aroused by the verbal and physical abuse sent her way by Ram (playing Cinderella) after she tells her to get on her knees to clean the floor, as well as having a bucket of water drenched on her.
    • As Ram goes to clean her with the mop, Darkness now thinks she's getting physical, while Naofumi and CZ Delta backstage question whether the story of Cinderella actually goes the way it's being performed.
    • The fact that Ram doesn't even bother to get into character is funny in itself.
      • for added hilarity (at least in the dub) Mr. Rerugen is internally begging for Demiurge to carry the scene.
  • Meanwhile, Rem worries if the others fighting the Destroyer will be okay. Shalltear reassures her that they will be, saying that Albedo is the strongest among the Nazarick Floor Guardians... and that they call her a "big-mouthed gorilla" for good reason.
    • What's even better is that Albedo actually now has the feeling that Shalltear's talking smack about her.
  • When Megumin plays her part as the Fairy Godmother on stage, she declares that taking Cinderella to the ball is as simple an affair as taking candy from a baby. It didn't take long for Ainz and Subaru to realize that Emilia was the one who wrote that line into the scriptnote .
  • As they are fighting the Destroyer, Emilia is about to use her ice magic, however, remembered that Megumin said she should use an incantation. Puck, on the other hand, says that she can ignore her.
    • Meanwhile, back on-stage, Megumin is using an incantation to turn a pumpkin into a carriage. Turns out it's extremely long, and we see Ram lying on stage like she's bored, while Tanya angrily questions who told Megumin she could ad-lib. Ainz replies that even if they told her to keep it short, she would have ignored them.
  • Albedo destroys one of the now-incapacitated Destroyer's legs in the most Jojo-like fashion:
Albedo: *while punching one of the Destroyer's legs* ORA-ORA-ORA-ORA-ORA-ORA!
    • Meanwhile, what's Aqua doing while everyone else is fighting? Essentially acting as a cheerleader with her fans.
  • Filo's motivation to fight? She wants to see Naofumi as a duck.
  • What does Cinderella's carriage look like? Essentially Ainz, Subaru, and Kazuma as "horses", and Tanya playing the "carriage" - aka wearing a pumpkin on her head.
    • Ram says it looks pathetic, with Tanya taking offense. Megumin meanwhile tells her carriages are supposed to carry things, not talk, while Subaru calls her out for such a cruel statement.
    • Ram also acts surprised that the "pumpkin" (Tanya) talked after being insulted. It's a hilarious 180 seeing a bit of genuine acting from Ram instead of her usual apathy.
  • During the ball scene, we get a little background gem of Mare simply flailing around Neumann, who can do nothing but scream in terror.
    • Meanwhile, Grantz is paired with Beatrice, in which Koenig points out that she thinks he wants to do naughty things to her. Grantz vehemently denies the claim, but Beatrice also thinks otherwise.
  • As it turns "midnight", Ram runs off stage, saying she needs to go. As she does so, she ends up pushing Koenig and Grantz off stage, and Neumann straight through the backdrop.
  • Remember in Episode 22 that Roswaal says that something might happen if Class 2's play is a success? Well, like Season 1, nothing changes... again.
  • During the finale credits sequence, we see Death Knight sitting in a chair, applauding, as well as encouraging the audience to do the same and leads it... except he's the only one there.
