Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance. The Super Homer Saga, by IHVNNM (Character death, Crossover)
Seconded by The Cuza, who read this years before he ever heard of TV Tropes. In fact, the only reason he's on this page right now is because he saw it pop up in the Twitter feed and wanted to check if anyone had recommended it already. Thanks for saving me some typing, bro.
Synopsis: After an accident at the power plant, Homer gains super powers and fights many villains, even those from other shows.
Synopsis: "I'm flunking maths, and the other day I was a little attracted to Milhouse." Bart and Milhouse in the treehouse after school, and Bart considers the family factor and feels something...out of place.
Comments: Not a real slash story per-se, but what it actually is can't really be described. It encourages the reader to take it as they will. The imagery and descriptions of feeling and emotion are breathtakingly beautiful.
Synopsis: SEX! Now that I have your attention: When the Simpsons are transported to the year 5009, how will they coup? Includes numerous parodies of all your favorite TV shows, comic books, video games, novels, and movies, and loads of OC's. R&R
Synopsis: Despite what the title says, there's no actual fighting. Instead, the Simpson family moves to Elwood City when Homer is put in charge of it's new nuclear plant, and interact with the cast of Arthur.
Pairings: Arthur/Sue Ellen
Comments: A very funny story that is true to both shows while nicely juxtaposing the adult humour of The Simpsons against the more family-friendly stuff of Arthur (see how they react when Homer strangles Bart, for example). If you're a fan of both shows and want to laugh, this is the fic for you. The Arthur/Sue Ellen romance does come out of nowhere unless you've read the author's earlier work Sue Ellen's Secret Crush though. All in all, a good story and highly recommended.
Synopsis: SEX! Now that I have your attention: The sequel to the Simpson's: In Space: The Pilot. The madcap madness in space contines! The question is not who will triumph, but who will survive? Blindfic. R&R P.S. There is some sex but not a whole lot.
Synopsis: Lenny's day-to-day experiences and thoughts.
Comments: A surreal story that defies description. It could be about shipping, it could be depressing, it could be heartwarming. If you ever wondered about Lenny's relationship with Carl, or how a minor character would react to how time works in Springfield, then this story is for you.
Synopsis: It's been 7 years and all Bob Terwilliger wants is closure. Bart, Lisa and Maggie must struggle against this madman's plot. The rules have changed, though, and all are left scrambling when he tries a different approach to revenge.
Synopsis: A Sailor Moon parody/crossover/mash-up in which Lisa Simpson saves a cat who grants her the powers of Sailor Moon. Other girls soon join her, taking on the roles of the other planet soldiers. Long and entertaining, with excellent jokes and a few interesting twists. Manages to get quite touching without lapsing into angst.
Synopsis: The year is 2028. Lisa and her husband, Matt, are happy to hear of Maggie's engagement. Maggie and Bart go to Lisa's house in Capital City to discuss it. Bart pulls out an old photo album and they look through it. Matt notices a picture of Lisa's twin sister, Suzy, and is immediately curious. Bart convinces Lisa to tell the story.
