Meet the Teamnote Clockwise
Exodus is a Worm and Big Hero 6 fanfiction crossover written by Ld1449 and Zaru of Outcry fame.

In the Null Space, Hiro rescues Abigail Callaghan and is about to hightail it out of there when Baymax reports there's someone else. Tracking down the signal, he arrives in time to witness an execution and an unknown armored woman falling through a portal. Hiro rescues a girl with two bullet holes in the back of her head and takes her back to receive medical treatment.

Unbeknownst to Hiro, the girl he rescued is from another world. Taylor Hebert, by all rights, should be dead. Somehow alive and well and her powers given a hard factory reset, the Hamada family all but takes her in. For a time, it seems like she's given a moment's rest and a chance to live a life of normalcy...until she gets involved with Hiro and his team.

Not to be confused with NullenVoid's The Exodus. Can also be read on AO3 and SpaceBattles.

All spoilers for Worm will be unmarked!

Exodus contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Adaptational Badass: Midway through the story, Cass becomes a Plus Human. She "Triggers" with Alexandria's Shard.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: While Globby's mutation into a gelatinous monster was accidental on Honey Lemon's part, Exodus implies his transformation is due to being a Plus Human, given that his first appearance proper in the fanfic happens after Taylor's passenger takes a page from the Entities' books.
  • Adaptational Villainy: While he's no saint, Yama takes a new level in villainy in that he goes from being a simple street thug in the film to being affiliated with organized crime, working under Arthur Cheng and being an actual Yakuza mob boss. It's also noted Yama killed people after Cheng's previous associate Matsudaira died in a "surgery mishap", which Cheng believes Yama had a hand in.
  • Adaptation Expansion: The BH6 world's Alternate History is slightly expanded on. In stark contrast to Earths Bet and Aleph, Hiro's world never relied on fossil fuels and went straight for renewable energy like solar and hydro-electric. The U.S. also became a geo-political juggernaut in the early 1900's, intimidating Europe and other nations so much the European Union was born decades earlier. The U.S. also fostered good relations with its eastern neighbor Japan and formed the Union of Pacific Nations. Japan would eventually repay the U.S. when the 1906 San Francisco earthquake struck. The city was renamed "San Fransokyo" in honor of the Japanese relief workers who stayed behind after their work was finished.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Unlike his teammates, Fred's full name was divulged in the TV series as Frederic Flammarion Frederickson IV. In Exodus, his name is just Fred Miller. This also applies to his secret identity, as he rebrands himself as Kaiju after the Time Skip instead of going by Fredzilla.
  • Adapted Out: Some events and story arcs from the TV series are either not mentioned or never happened, including Sycorax.
  • Age-Gap Romance: When recounting the story of how he and his wife met, Dubeni states Aadhira was sixteen and he was eight or nine years old when they first met, putting a seven-year-gap between them.
  • Almighty Janitor: Aunt Cass becomes a Plus Human in the same power bracket as the Triumvirate, more or less becoming her world's version of Alexandria. Cass has zero interest in the hero scene and would much rather run her shop than get into heroics.
  • Anti-Villain:
    • Headhunter is a merc for hire, with his latest gig being the Big Hero 6. His villain lifestyle is to help his wife, who is suffering from an unknown disease.
    • The final Big Bad of the story is a Boomerang Bigot who genuinely believes Plus Humans are dangerous to society after realizing what his powers did to his wife.
  • Badass Normal: After Plus Humans start showing up out the woodwork, the Big Hero 6 barring Taylor is this. None of them have any superpowers whatsoever, simply being regular peak humans with highly advanced suits and weaponry.
  • Bag of Spilling: After Contessa throws her into the BH6 world, Taylor's initially rendered powerless. After she slowly grows more cognizant, she discovers her powers are slowly recovering, though she never reaches what she was capable of during her brief stint as Khepri.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Taylor creates a series of events that leads the Big Hero 6 to come into conflict with the Triad, a bunch of hardcore villains that won't hesitate to try and kill them. She did this so they would realize being heroes is Not a Game. Unfortunately, her actions also cause Arthur Cheng, one of the Triad's backers, to send Headhunter after them. Taylor gets what she wanted for the team when they suffer a Curb-Stomp Battle that forces her to directly intervene.
  • Boomerang Bigot: Godfrey is a Plus Human with Master abilities, but despises other Plus Humans. This is in large part because of Power Incontinence; he had no idea he was a Plus Human and was using his powers on his own wife until her health took a turn for the worst.
  • Broken Faceplate: During Hiro's fight with Headhunter, his helmet partially shatters. Taylor realizes after she fights him off that Headhunter didn't finish off Hiro because he saw his face.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Subverted. While Headhunter certainly needs Hiro alive to build the healthcare unit made specifically to look after Aadhira, Dubeni doesn't kill the boy because he knows Hiro is a genuinely good person.
  • Cassandra Truth: When discussing who Taylor is while she's recovering in the hospital, Fred proposes the theory that she's actually a criminal warlord who could control people and was offed because she was growing too powerful. Of course, this being Fred, nobody believes him.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Taylor is of the opinion that there really is no such thing as a fair fight, and she's willing to use every dirty trick in the book if it means she'll make it out alive. She actually tries to push this mindset onto the team.
  • Continuity Nod: After his meeting with Yama is over, Cheng recalls how Yama got hussled by a mere child in one of his illegal boss fighting rings, referring to Hiro demolishing his Little Yama with Megabot at the beginning of the film.
  • Control Freak: Taylor gets accused of this on occasion, especially when they have to deal with agents from the P.H.I.A. It's mostly Played for Laughs in that the team has no problems with her habits, especially when her reasons for wanting to manage the situation mostly stems from Hiro purposefully doing things to annoy her.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Arthur Cheng is already established to be a corrupt CEO when Taylor sees a live news feed of him exiting a trial after being found innocent of corruption, with Cheng looking quite smug about his victory. The Jubilation Arc would also reveal him to be one of the Triad's financial backers.
  • The Corrupter: This is what Gogo fears Taylor will be to Hiro.
[Leiko] would protect her friends. Taylor may not have been the kind of threat Gogo had thought. She was not Callaghan.
But she might just be the Gogo that would have let Hiro 'Destroy' him.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Fred may be a goofball and a spazz, but he's shockingly insightful. After the Curb-Stomp Battle involving Headhunter, he does some "visual training" in his head and thinks up scenarios involving the team. When presenting his report to the team and Taylor, they're shocked by how detailed and accurate it is, with Taylor noting how analysis on each team member is color-coded.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Headhunter subjects this to the team. He trounces them with horrific ease, having studied their abilities and weaponry extensively before battling them. The only reason he doesn't succeed in finishing them off is because Dubeni discovers Hero is Hiro and Taylor fending him off long enough for the others to escape.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Gogo's cold demeanor towards Taylor softens after the latter saves her from Momokase during their assault on Cheng.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Evidently, no one in the Big Hero 6, especially Hiro, ever considered the possibility that they might run into criminals who use guns as none of their equipment is completely bullet proof.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Downplayed. Prophet is initially made out to be the "Contessa" of the BH6 world by virtue of being a pre-cog. Unlike Contessa's absurdly broken "Path to Victory", however, Prophet's power requires him to actively brute force the future he's aiming for.
  • The Dreaded: Even after five years have passed, Contessa remains this for Taylor. When she sees the woman in her home, she's instantly reminded of their last meeting where Contessa put two bullets in her head and left her for dead. Unsurprisingly, seeing her again throws Taylor into a panic attack.
  • Dumb Muscle: Cheng's opinion of Yama, comparing him to a sledgehammer that's only useful for bludgeoning things.
  • Easy Amnesia: While she has most of her memories, Taylor later realizes she's slowly forgetting the names of people she knew on Earth Bet like the Undersiders, much to her dismay. This seems to have dropped after the Time Skip where she remembers their names perfectly.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Doctor Alexander Camden, one of the Plus Human researchers with the European Union, is not happy when he learns one of their volunteers was forcibly brought to the facilities when others had to sign a consent form, though the Major deflects this by stating "Mercury" was too dangerous and hostile to be handled any other way. He's really not happy when he learns that "Mercury" is actually a two year old toddler.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones:
    • Much of Dubeni's actions as Headhunter has to do with his wife, who's suffering from an unknown disease.
    • Corrupt scumbag that he is, Paul Godfrey has one redeeming quality: his family. He loves his daughter and wife, the latter even being the reason for his actions in the fanfic.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: In his first debut in the fanfic, Globby is seen working with a bunch of muggers. While he's fine with robbing their mark at first, he starts protesting when he sees one of them pull a gun, going so far as to shield the victim when one of the goons opens fire.
  • Exact Words: Contessa tells Taylor to go to Tamalpais no later than 8:57 PM, and that failing to show up will result in unpleasant consequences for her loved ones. While this sounds like a threat at first, Contessa is actually referring to how Taylor will lose the chance of reuniting with her old friends and her father.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Applies to both the Big Hero 6 and Taylor, with the latter having two years of experience in comparison to the team (when Taylor is fully cognizant and starts physical therapy, it's been half a year since her arrival in their world). It's seeing how inexperienced the Big Hero 6 are (in comparison to her) and how they treat heroics that makes Taylor decide to "toughen them up".
  • Failure Gambit: The conflict with Godfrey was intentionally set up to fail by Prophet, having created a scenario where Godfrey would ultimately lose while Prophet and his friends would be given protection from those seeking to use or harm them for their own gains.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • After Aunt Cass becomes a Plus Human, she has a private conversation with Taylor and asks her about how long she's been a Plus Human after noticing how experienced she is with them. Throughout the conversation, she notices Taylor dodging or making up half-truths, which unsettles Taylor given how eerily similar Aunt Cass is being to Alexandria. It isn't until Taylor realizes much later that Aunt Cass isn't just an "Alexandria package", but in fact triggered with Alexandria's Shard.
    • After his initial confrontation with Hero, Chimera wants to cut ties with his mysterious employer despite being offered more money for his work. When the boss speaks with Chimera over the phone, the latter subtly changes and decides to hear him out. This is the first hint that Godfrey is a Plus Human, specifically a Master.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: In the third arc, Hiro receives a sponsorship offer from Akande Dubeni, a world-renown philanthropist and leading figure in modern A.I. programming. While Hiro wants to accept the sponsorship, it would mean leaving San Fransokyo behind. There's also the fact that Dubeni expressed an interest in Baymax, which Hiro repeatedly states is Tadashi's work, not his, and is unwilling to give it up. After attending Aadhira Dubeni's seminar, Hiro makes the decision not to accept the sponsorship, but he makes a personal healthcare unit for Aadhira.
  • Generation Xerox: Taylor initially compares the Big Hero 6 to the Triumvirate during the Golden Age of Parahumans before Vikare's death and Cauldron began delving into shadier methods to save the world. Hiro in particular reminds her of Earth Bet's Hero given their popularity, tech specialties, and being The Heart of the team.
  • Gone Horribly Right: In a case of Be Careful What You Wish For, Taylor's attempts to expose the Big Hero 6 to the more dangerous threats of San Fransokyo ends up putting them in Headhunter's crosshairs. His brutal dismantling of the group ultimately opens their eyes to how outclassed and reliant they've become on Hiro, and Headhunter himself was wholly willing to kill them all. The only reason he didn't was because he realized Hero was Hiro and Taylor fending him off.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Compared to the rest of the team and the ever-optimistic Honey Lemon, Gogo is rough and easy to anger. She's the first to suspect that Taylor is not a good person, or was at least is the kind that invites trouble since someone went out of their way to put two bullets in the back of her head. In an interlude, she even contemplated letting Hiro kill Callaghan after they found out he was Youkai, only to stop him when she realized doing so would change him into something worse.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Given that this is Taylor post-Gold Morning, this is to be expected. She's pragmatic and considers every possible avenue, including how to take down the Big Hero 6 if she were ever forced into such a situation. She had no qualms in attempting to drown and maul Headhunter with her bugs. Gogo begrudgingly respects her, realizing how effective she is.
  • Graceful Loser: After the P.H.I.A apprehend Prophet and deprive Godfrey of his most valuable resources, he visits his wife and daughter one final time and doesn't resist when the authorities come to arrest him.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: Baymax was an already sophisticated AI to begin with, but it really says something when he somehow "Triggers" and becomes a Plus Human.
  • The Heart: Hiro is this to the Big Hero 6 and to Taylor, being the lynchpin and voice of encouragement of the group.
  • History Repeats: Taylor wonders if the Big Hero 6's story is this when compared to the Golden Age of Parahumans from Earth Bet before the Protectorate and later the PRT formed, with the Big Hero 6 being the Triumvirate. The Annexation arc makes even stronger parallels when a superhuman oversight organization, the Plus Human Intervention Agency, is formed in response to the rapid rise of humans suddenly developing superpowers, with the Big Hero 6 and Hive Queen becoming its first superpowered members. Thankfully for Taylor, the P.H.I.A. isn't anything like the Protectorate ENE in that they're being screwed over by The Illuminati. It also helps that the organization is still fairly new and trying to figure out its stance on how to treat Plus Human membership.
  • How Is That Even Possible?: Twofold with Baymax. To Taylor's shock and confusion, Baymax suddenly develops tinker capabilities, something that should be impossible since parahumans gain their powers through traumatic events. That Baymax just got his powers out of the blue clues Taylor in that Plus Humans might not gain powers the same way parahumans can. The second is that Baymax is actively rejecting any upgrades or blueprints from his passenger as he wishes to respect the work made by Hiro and Tadashi, which Taylor equates to Baymax telling it to "screw off".
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While not quite a "jerkass", Taylor's quite rough with the Big Hero 6 (partially because she sees them as amateurs who only deal with regular run of the mil criminals compared to, say, Lung). That said, the team does agree with her about them being overly reliant on Hiro upgrading their equipment.
  • Just a Kid: Although some of the Big Hero 6's roster are much older in comparison to the teenage Hiro Hamada, this is how Taylor sees them. In contrast to her brutal life as a cape back on Earth Bet, they never had to deal with hardcore villains and superpowered criminals like Lung or the Slaughterhouse Nine.
  • Lighter and Softer: The BH6 world at large is this for Taylor, as there are no monstrous world-ending threats like Scion or the Endbringers. This remains even after Plus Humans start cropping up, as the worst Taylor and the Big Hero 6 have to face is a Master looking to make Plus Humans out to be a world threat.
  • Mama Bear: It will be a cold day in hell before anyone hurts Cass' beloved nephew and his friends. After becoming a Plus Human with the same powers as Alexandria, she has more than enough power to back up her words.
  • Mission Control: Taylor initially becomes this at Fred's suggestion, monitoring the team's patrols and informing them of crimes in progress. She eventually uses this to her advantage by forcing a conflict between the Big Hero 6 and the Triad to help "toughen" the team in the hopes they'll realize exactly what they're getting themselves into.
  • Morality Chain: Taylor and Hiro serve as this for each other. Hiro is the only thing keeping Taylor from falling back to her old Warlord Skitter persona, and if anything were to happen to him, she can and will re-enact a scene straight out of Old Testament. This also goes in the other direction; several character note that Hiro becomes hyper-competent and dangerous when those he cares for are in danger. After Prophet takes her out in one of Godfrey's ploys to make the public lose trust in the heroes, Hiro mistakingly believes she's been killed and is out for blood.
  • Morality Pet: Hiro becomes this for Taylor. While she never quite goes back to her mindset during her Warlord days, even she's ultimately taken in by his pure heart and kindness.
  • More than Mind Control: Godfrey's power compels anyone he uses his ability to follow his "suggestions". It's so subtle and overt that, with the exception of Dubeni, none of his entourage realizes they're being controlled.
  • Named by the Adaptation: With the exception of Hiro, the rest of the team are given actual names instead of just being known by their nicknames. Gogo is Leika Tanaka, Honey Lemon is Laura Rodriguez, and Wasabi is Damien Waynes. The only exception is Fred, who undergoes Adaptation Name Change instead.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Globby apparently did something to Honey Lemon's hair and she hasn't forgiven him for it. When the team brings this up to him, Globby says he apologized but is terrified by the prospect of running into an angry Honey Lemon again.
    • Taylor's official debut as Hive Queen involved her beating a villain who could create poison clouds with a cane, something that embarrasses and irritates her to no end. The specifics aren't given beyond that, however.
  • Not a Game: As far as Taylor is concerned, the Big Hero 6 are a bunch of kids "playing" superheroes. While she admits they're a well-knit group and are doing a great job at protecting San Fransokyo, they haven't dealt with actual hardcore criminals. Part of the reason she becomes their Mission Control is to help make them realize what it is they're getting themselves into and setting them up to come into conflict with the Triad.
  • Oh, Crap!: After learning Baymax has suddenly become a Plus Human without undergoing some form of traumatic event, Taylor has a panic attack, believing an Entity found the BH6 world. The possibility of an Entity scares her enough, but what truly horrifies her is the possibility she might have to go back to being Khepri.
  • Official Couple: After copious amounts of Ship Tease, Hiro and Taylor officially start dating at the end of Arc 8.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: Headhunter realizes he's being Mastered by Paul Godfrey/Discourse when he misses his wife's anniversary.
  • Power Incontinence: Paul Godfrey, AKA Discourse, is a Master Plus Human who can make "suggestions" that anyone who listens to his words will be compelled to follow. He unknowingly used it on his wife for several years, having not realized he was a Plus Human at the time. When his innocent "suggestion" that she have a nice day clashes with the difficulties she has at work, the struggle to follow Godfrey's "suggestion" lands her in the hospital.
  • Prison Riot: Chapter 5.5 involves one. To make matters worse, five of the inmates including Globby are Plus Humans.
  • Properly Paranoid: Right off the bat, Gogo doesn't trust Taylor, citing the fact that someone went out of the way to shoot her in the back of the head twice as a good indicator she's wrapped up in something dangerous. It's for this reason that she warns Taylor to stay away from Hiro. Taylor, for her part, actually approves of this.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Although obviously upset about Hiro's decision not to share Baymax's schematics, Dubeni still attempts to offer to sponsor Hiro in his endeavors. He's shocked and flabbergasted when Hiro states that he won't share Baymax's designs with him, he will make him and Aadhira their own personal medic bot unit, pointing out to Hiro that he could easily steal Hiro's designs and sell them for his own profit and tells him to draw up a legal contract before he does anything else.
  • Red Herring: Initially, "Mercury" is presented in story as being a potential Endbringer in the making or the BH6 world's equivalent to a Case-53. It isn't until the doctor in charge realizes from Prophet's drawings that "Mercury" isn't a non-human entity, but a two-year-old Plus Human.
  • Running Gag: Anytime Fred does or says something idiotic or non-sensical, Gogo and Taylor shut him down and elicit the following response:
    Fred: Shutting up.
  • Secret-Keeper:
    • At the start of the story, Taylor becomes this for the team, having learned about them from Hiro as she was recovering. Fred decides to take this a step further and advocates for Taylor to be their Mission Control, or Fot-Dub (Fly On The Wall. F.O.T.W, with "W" being Dub) as he puts it.
    • Headhunter learns Hero is Hiro Hamada after smashing the latter's faceplate. On the flipside, Taylor also knows Headhunter is Akande Dubeni because of the injuries she inflicted on him when they last met. Neither has any intention of divulging the others' secret, and Taylor ensures this by telling him of the "unwritten rules".
  • Ship Tease: Plenty between Hiro and Taylor, serving as each other's Morality Pets and generally being fiercely protective of each other. The end of Arc 8 sees the two entering an official relationship, much to the joy of the team and Aunt Cass.
  • Shipper on Deck: Aunt Cass thinks her nephew and Taylor would make a great couple. The second she learns Dubeni invited Hiro to his wife's seminar and Taylor is his plus one, she immediately tells her they're closed for the holidays and helps pay for some new clothes as the seminar has a formal dress code. Honey Lemon later joins Cass on the bandwagon. When Hiro and Taylor become an Official Couple, they're over the moon.
  • The Stinger: The story ends with Taylor reuniting with her father, who Triggered at some point and is working with Defiant and Dragon.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Although Taylor surviving two point-blank headshots to the back of her skull is nothing short of a miracle, her brain gets so messed up that she can't recognize basic human interactions, much less words and language. Similarly, spending the majority of her time recovering from the experience leaves her so physically weak she has to go through six months of physical therapy.
  • Time Skip:
    • Between the first and third chapter, Taylor spends several months recovering from Contessa's gunshots, forced to re-learn not only social interactions but even how to speak and recognize words. By the time Taylor becomes more cognizant, she notices Hiro's grown much taller than she last remembers him being.note . Word of God states that Hiro is 16 by the end of the Retaliation Arc, meaning a full year's passed since Taylor arrived in his world.
    • The Annexation arc takes place six months after Retaliation. By this point in time, the Big Hero 6 are recognized as a legitimate hero team instead of merely being a "fad", Taylor has officially returned to being a superhero and takes up the name Hive Queen. Superpowered individuals have also begun to appearance, dubbed "Plus Humans" by the general public and government. Arc 7 indicates at least three years have passed since Big Hero 6 was formed, as during an argument with Aunt Cass in response to learning he's Hero, Hiro states he's eighteen when Cass tells him he's grounded.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After their brutal defeat at Headhunter's hands, the team realizes their old methods won't work anymore and decide to strengthen up. The most blatant example, however, is Baymax after the marshmallow robot somehow becomes a Plus Human and turns into a Tinker.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
    • Gogo is initially antagonistic towards Taylor and warns her to stay away from Hiro, fearing she might endanger him. She defrosts slightly after Taylor saves them from Headhunter. By the time of the Time Skip, she's as chummy with Taylor as she is with the rest of the team.
    • Taylor also undergoes this. She's initially closes herself off from the team, but starts warming up to them overtime after she starts helping them out under her new cape identity "Hive Queen". The Big Hero 6's influence also keeps her grounded and from going back to her old Warlord personality.
  • Unstable Powered Child: "Mercury" is ultimately revealed to be a Plus Human; two-year-old Su-Wei. The reason for her behavior isn't that she's running and Blue-and-Orange Morality, but that she's little more than a child.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Akande Dubeni is beloved by the public as a philanthropist and CEO of Majathal Industries, having more or less created the modern standard platform of artificial intelligence (though Dubeni would tell you his wife's the real brains of the operation). He also moonlights as the villain mercenary Headhunter.
  • Wham Episode:
    • The Retaliation arc ends with an Entity (later revealed to actually be Taylor's passenger) connecting to the BH6 world. The following chapters then introduce Plus Humans, i.e. the counterparts of Earth bet's parahumans.
    • The Consolidation arc also ends on a whammy. "Mercury" is revealed to a two-year-child named Au-Wei, who may or may not have killed her parents after becoming a Plus Human. Not long after this revelation, the facility comes under attack by an unknown group, leaving Alexander, Su-Wei, and Rebecca's fates uncertain. On the hero side of things, Taylor learns that the Plus Human who wrecked the subway in the previous chapter is the work of one of the P.H.I.A.'s backers, Paul Godfrey. On top of that, the P.H.I.A. receives a prospective new Plus Human: Aunt Cass.
  • Wham Line:
    • The last line of the Retaliation arc.
      Destination/
      Agreement.
    • The Big Hero 6 get prospective new members in the form of sisters named Mary and Charlotte, the former being shy and nervous and Charlotte being largely energetic and outgoing. Then Baymax chimes in when the girls are separated and interviewed:
Baymax: Potential Future Hero Charlotte, should not be here. Potential Future Hero Charlotte according to Hospital records; has been in a clinical coma for one Hundred, forty-seven hours and thirty-seven minutes. Cause, vehicular collision.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: In the aftermath of Cheng's arrest, Hiro accuses Taylor of wanting to leave Gogo in the warehouse after the latter was taken down by Momokase. Taylor bluntly admits that she did think about leaving Gogo behind to go after Cheng and flat-out states she thought of saving her as an annoyance. Taylor also cites this as being the reason why she didn't want to return to superheroics as she's grown so jaded after her experiences back on Earth Bet. Hearing this, Hiro tells Taylor that despite her own words, she isn't the person who she says she is as despite thinking about leaving Gogo, Taylor chose to save her, and she was quite honest about her feelings. As Hiro puts it best:
"Bad guys don't worry about not being good. You say being a Hero isn't your first instinct. Or that you're not a good person. Well... We can take it one step at a time til you get there!"
