Teachers & Staff

     Midnight

Nemuri Kayama

Quirk: Somnambulist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/midnight_anime_profile.png

The Homeroom Teacher of Class 1-C and UA's Modern Arts History teacher.

  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: Her age is not stated, but she looks too young for a teenage son. Downplayed in that Ben is adopted.
  • Been There, Shaped History: She is infamous for her original costume forcing the HPSC to control heroine costume designs
  • Big Beautiful Woman: She ends up getting fattened up by accident during a dinner outing but she fully embraces her bulk with pride.
  • Cool Teacher: She actively encourages her students to bond with each other and explore UA, but also warns them to obey the rules of the school.
  • Fat and Proud: Is proud of being big and fat and reassures Momo when she blames herself for causing it.
  • History Repeats Itself: She apparently was not as confident in her youth as she is now, with her close friend and big sister figure Inko Midoriya being the one who gave her the confidence o become the kind of heroine she wanted to be. Through a small part on her own, her own son, Ben, is shaping up to play a similar role in Inko's child Izuku's life.
  • Honorary Aunt: By virtue of his mother being her big sister figure, she is this to Izuku. The same applies to Hitsohi, whose father is one of her best friends.
  • Mama Bear: She has only had her students for two days, but is already protective of them. This applies to children in general, as she gets angry at Aizawa for how he treats his first-year students.
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: She acts like a sadistic Dominmatirix on the job, but is a very motherly and sweet woman who adores her students
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: She calls out Aizawa for how he treats his students with 'logical ruses' and how quick he is to expel those who don't meet his standards.
  • Team Mom: To her class, but also her own son. Ben.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: She taught her students to never let villains monologue.
Monika: "FIRST RULE MIDNIGHT-SENSEI TAUGHT US!"
Class 1-C: "NEVER LET EM MONOLOGUE! THEY CAN BLAB AT THE STATION!"

     Eraserhead

Shota Aizawa

Quirk: Erasure

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shouta_aizawa.png

The Homeroom Teacher of Class 1-A. More pragmatic than Nemuri, his methods include 'logical ruses' and expelling any who don't reach his standards, but it all comes from good intentions. He ends up quitting as a teacher at UA when he realizes his actions have done more harm than good.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed; he dislikes Himiko for exposing his secret test of character, sees Class 1-C as problem children, even brushing off Niles' attempt to upgrade his Quirk, and seems almost driven to make his students as jaded as he is. That being said, his reasons for doing so are to prepare them for the worst aspects of the Hero Industry.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His best friend Oboro was killed when they were still just Hero students, something which still haunts him to this very day.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Was very clear that he would not have allowed Bakugo into UA when Mina asked him.
  • Giving Up on Logic: In regards to Class 1C, as he himself states.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: Even he can't resist Eri’s cuteness and according to Nemuri, was grumpy during the Quirk Apprehension Test out of worry for Hitoshi starting his first day. He also respects Jin as a teacher.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While he may aim to do so too early in Midnight's mind, he's not wrong in teaching kids how the world of heroism works.
  • Jerkass to One: He seems to dislike Himiko due to her revealing his secret test of character early. She doesn't seem to take it too seriously, however.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: One of the villains at the USJ turned out to be a student he had expelled, showing him Midnight had a point after all. This is cemented when Nedzu reveals the fates of what happened to the class he expelled (several took their own lives, were disowned, and/or turned to Villainy), and the weight of his actions finally dawns on him.
  • Papa Wolf: Hitoshi is his adopted son in this story and he cares for him to the point of investigating a school his son's friend goes to when Hitoshi brings up worries about the aforementioned friend being bullied.
  • Resigned in Disgrace: He quits working at UA after the USJ Attack, realizing his habit of expelling the students who didn't meet his standards as well as his untreated trauma over the death of Shirakumo have led to him being directly responsible for the creation of several villains and many suicides.
  • Sadistic Teacher: What many perceive him as, compared to Nemuri at least. Downplayed in that he clearly gets no pleasure from expelling students.

     Twice

Jin Bubaigawara

Quirk: Double

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/twice_anime.png

A man who attends Quirk Annonymous. An accident with his Quirk, Double, caused him to suffer Split-Personality Disorder as well as suffer doubts on if he was real or just a clone. Over the time skip, he gets a job as a teacher at UA.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Thanks in part to attending Quirks Anonymous, he never became a criminal. Heck, he's now working at UA High!
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: He had little to no meaningful interactions with his fellow QA goers in canon, nor did he ever meet his girlfriend (who debuted in canon LONG after his passing). Here, he's known them since they were kids. On the flip side, he has yet to interact with his canon best friend Himiko.
  • Badass Teacher: He's the appointed homeroom teacher of Class 1-D and already protecting his students and the younger QA members.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Upon realizing he's always been the real Twice and not a clone during the Starro Attack, he unleashes Sad Man's Parade on the Starro Possessed
  • Love Redeems: Having a girlfriend and fellow Quirk Anonymous goers certainly helped him from becoming a villain
  • Me's a Crowd: His Quirk in a nutshell. Downplayed in that he needs the exact measurements of whatever he's copying and he's actively avoiding using it on himself due to the trauma he suffered from misusing it in the past.
  • Official Couple: Over the time skip, he's started dating Ippan Josei and is very happy with her; to the point both his personalities fawn over her.

     Ippan Josei

Ippan Josei

Quirk: Unnamed Mutant Quirk

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/josei_7.png

An exceedingly tall woman who resembles a green mouse, she attends Quirk Anonymous with Izuku and the others, although she is NOT scared of her Quirk, but how people treat her because of it. Over the timeskip, she gets a job assisting Recovery Girl at UA.

  • Ascended Extra: She is a minor character in the MHA canon. Here, she's a supporting character who appeared in the first chapter.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was attacked by the Creature Rejection Clan at some point, and has seemingly been wrongly profiled since then.
  • Nice Girl: Out of everyone in the QA group, she is the most soft-spoken and kind.
  • Official Couple: She's happily dating Jin.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Downplayed. She left Chronostasis to the mercy of the QA parents to make sure Jin was okay after being paralyzed by Chorono’s Quirk.

     Principal Nedzu

Nedzu

Quirk: High Specs

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/principal_3.png

The acting principal of UA High and one of the smartest beings on the planet.

  • Big Good: Nedzu gets the plot of the story rolling by not only allowing Aizawa to investigate Aldera but also creating two more Hero classes to give more students a chance to grow and shine. He also personally invites Izuku to UA.
  • The Mentor: There are hints he plans to take on Izuku as an apprentice due to his analysis notes alone.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He does punish Jin and Setsuna for attacking Monoma, docking the former's pay and giving the latter detention, but he also praises them for defending 'their pack'. He also lets them know the real reason Monoma was let into UA.

     Crust

Mutsuo Tatezaki

Quirk: Shield

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crust_appearance_anime_1.png

The #6 Pro Hero of Japan who is hired to act as Twice's teaching assistant at UA in Class 1-D.

  • Cool Teacher: Is patient and kind to his students and Jin.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He's no fan of Endeavour and is aware of the Todoroki family drama, but doesn't let that impede his work.
  • Genre Savvy: Has his students stay behind at UA during the USJ attack as a means of anticipating other villains using the madness to attack the school.
  • Named by the Adaptation: We never knew his real name in canon. Here, he's Mutsuo Tatezaki.
  • Noodle Incident: According to Midnight, he did something that forced the HPSC to allow heroes with capes to be eligible for the Top 10.

     All Might

Toshinori Yagi

Quirk: One For All

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/all_might_hero_form_full_body_9.png

     Hawks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hawks_anime_design.png

The #3 Pro Hero and the Heroic Public Safety Committee's top sponsored hero. He takes Aizawa's place as teacher of Class 1-A after he quits.

  • Cool Teacher: He very quickly manages to become this to Class 1-A, despite his concerns about replacing Aizawa.
  • The Dog Bites Back: At least part of the reason he’s taken over for Aizawa is to spite the HPSC for controlling so much of heroism and his life.
  • One of the Kids: Part of why Class 1-A accepts him as their new teacher. He pretty much is good with kids and civilians and doesn't take things too seriously unless absolutely necessary.

     Miruko

Rumi Usagiyama

Quirk: Rabbit

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rumi_usagiyama_hero_costume_full_anime.png

  • Big Beautiful Woman: She ends up getting fattened up considerably after a mistake Momo makes at dinner. However, she doesn't mind the change and plans on incorporating her bulk into her fighting style.
  • Cool Big Sis: Serves as one to Ben due to being friends with Midnight.
  • Dare to Be Badass: Downplayed, but she informs Class 1-B that results matter more than ranking.
  • Fat and Proud: She doesn't mind being fattened up.
Miruko: "To be Round is to be Proud!"
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: Downplayed. She’s a rough-and-tumble gal, but is looking forward to training the next generation and is happy to give Mina an autograph.

     Majestic

Enma Kannagi

Quirk: Magic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/majestic.jpg

Class 1-D's new temp aide. A laid-back Pro Hero with a wizard motif.

  • Chivalrous Pervert: One of the reasons he took up UA's offer to be a teacher was to get a date, but he still does his job and treats his students and co-workers with respect.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: His Quirk is basically just creating magical energy rings. However, he's learned how to harness it to be an effective Quirk for Hero work.

     Mount Lady

Yuu Takeyama

Quirk: Gigantification

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mt_lady_4.png

A haughty young woman who's a rookie at the Pro Hero scene. She is part of The Lurkers security force Nedzu hired to protect UA.

  • Big Beautiful Woman: Momo's bulk-up plan accidentally ends up fattening her up as well. She's greatly embarrassed by this but Midnight and Miruko, who are much more comfortable with it, set her straight.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: As part of The Lurkers, she's doing this for all of UA.
  • Cool Big Sis: To Ben; the only reason she can be civil with Midnight is when he’s around.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she cares more about publicity and flaunts her figure, she IS a good and loving older sister figure to Ben.
