Williams Family

    General
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Kevin's antics frustrate Vicky and Alison sees Liam as dorky deadweight, but they do have moments where they show concern for each other. Vicky turns down the sexual advances of a handsome god purely out of loyalty, while Alison gives Liam her Hollywood pass when he recovers from psychic trauma.
  • Foolish Husband, Responsible Wife: Kevin and Vicky all the way. The dynamic is especially prevalent when Kevin tries to hijack Vicky's investigation into where the kids are getting their stash of soft drinks from.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Alison and Liam are fraternal twins, and while they have the same hair color and general build they have very different personalities. She's also slightly taller, which is accurate since girls tend to hit puberty first.
  • Nuclear Family: A heterosexual married couple with a son and daughter.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Kevin is overweight and balding, while Vicky - while fairly unremarkable appearance-wise - was able to attract the attention of an Aussie deity.

Voiced by: Michael Cusack

"They call me Koala Man. I've made it my life's mission to clean up our streets, help the innocent and snuff out evil."

A vigilante determined to enforce order in Dapto, no matter how much it irritates everyone around him.

  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: Animal alias example. Koala Man has themed himself after a koala, but he doesn’t have the powers and he hasn’t built any appropriate gadgets yet.
  • Butt-Monkey: Koala Man hasn't any actual superpowers, gets constantly thrashed by far tougher opponents and is his hometown's resident pariah whom almost nobody respects.
  • Catchphrase: "That's NOT on!"
  • Cheap Costume: His costume consists of a homemade mask and a cape.
  • The Chosen One: As revealed in the season one finale Kevin was destined to become Koala Man, as there exists one on every planet, in every dimension, each behaving exactly as he does.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Kevin Williams is a very eccentric man fixated on obeying the law and acting as Dapto's self appointed superhero.
  • The Determinator: The closest thing Kevin has to a superhuman ability. In spite of his general incompetence, he never gives up.
  • Does Not Like Guns: Kevin turns down a pistol from his friend Spider.
Spider: You need something to take your heroing to the next level... a gun. (shoves it in Kevin's face)
Kevin: Uh no thanks Spider, I'm alright.
Spider: Could be like a new koala gadget though! The safety's jammed, so she's always ready to go.
Kevin: Yeah, that actually makes me want it less, mate.
  • The Exile: In "Emu War II", he gets banished from Dapto after he takes the blame for Vicky when she accidentally crack the royal emu egg, which is later revealed that the Kookaburra set her up.
  • Fatal Flaw: Inflexibility, because of his obsession with not breaking the law he would inadvertently create his own arch-nemesis, the Kookaburra.
  • Family Man: Although his Koala Man crusade can be time consuming, Kevin ultimately does love his family and wants what's best for them.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Koala Man is obsessed with following the rules and his failed attempts at superheroics have caused a lot of strain with his family, but he's ultimately a good guy who just has a very weird way of showing he cares.
  • Lawful Stupid: Koala Man is obsessed with following the law to the letter. He never misses a moment to request that someone provide a permit for whatever it is they're doing. His anal retention is eventually revealed to have created his arch-nemesis, the Kookaburra.
  • Lousy Lovers Are Losers: Much to Vicky's chagrin, Kevin takes pride in getting his time doing the deed down to four minutes.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Kevin wouldn't have been carjacked by bogan-like, muscular kangaroos if he hadn't stopped to check out one which looked injured. Kangaroos who were in fact hired by the Kookaburra to do such a thing.
  • Non-Powered Costumed Hero: Koala Man is somehow the most realistic thing in the entire series.
  • Patriotic Fervor: Kevin takes enormous pride in being Australian and frowns on Americans who immigrated there after their own country went to pot.
  • Precision F-Strike: He only permits himself to say a swear word once per year.
  • Serious Business: Koala Man aids a neighbour in yard care, taking the length of the grass as seriously as a bomb threat.
  • Super Zeroes: Koala Man is just an overweight, middle aged guy of questionable intelligence and sanity whose heroism usually at best equates to community service in a setting fraught with actual supernatural catastrophes. What usually ends up saving the day is Kevin getting help from his family and friends or dumb luck. Or both.
  • Three-Point Landing: Parodied. Koala Man tries to make the famous dramatic entrance to stop a crime, but winds up botching it and twisting his ankle.

    Vicky
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_182419_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Sarah Snook

"Kevin, you know I support your hobby, but maybe it's time to take a break, hm? You missed date night again. I was looking forward to a movie and a cuddle."

Kevin's long-suffering wife.

  • Boldly Coming: Indirectly. Vicky assists Koala Man in getting the Great One to orgasm before it can destroy the Earth.
  • I Was Quite a Looker: While she looks fine in the present, she was even more beautiful when she was younger as shown in her photo album when she participated in the Miss Sausage Roll Pageant.
  • Only Sane Woman: Vicky is the most stable, well adjusted person in her household. Yet she's still susceptible to insecurities and shenanigans like her family.
  • Open-Minded Parent: When Alison tells her that she needs to go rescue Rosie, Vicky wants her to come with her so they can move Liam out from the hospital. When Alison reveals she's in love with Rosie, Vicky was initially surprised by her daughter coming out to her but she happily accepts their relationship and tells her to go be with Rosie.
  • Seduction-Proof Marriage: Twice Vicky finds herself in situations where she might be unfaithful to Kevin. The first time is when the Great One brainwashes the populace by making its drones give out shoulder massages, which Vicky is immune to due to being near prawns the night before. The second time is when a god tries to seduce her, but she turns him down.

    Alison
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_184933_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Demi Lardner

"Mum, I'm entering Miss Sausage Roll, but I need you to buy me a new swimsuit. I've got my eye on this one. It barely covers tit and slit."

Kevin and Vicky's status-seeking daughter.

  • Accidental Athlete: She and Liam discover they're really good at handball in "The Handies" when she expertly serves a ball at Koala Man to make him leave their school.
  • Ambition Is Evil: Is driven to some pretty terrible acts to become the most popular girl in school, going up from smuggling, framing for smuggling, to outright murder. Even after achieving that, at great personal cost, it's implied she'll move on to becoming the most popular person in Australia, becoming its queen.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: She balks at her embarrassing family as she selfishly uses or abandons them all to advance her own goals.
  • Break the Haughty: After all the atrocities she have committed in order to become the most popular girl in her school, she is forced to witness the death of Rosie, her girlfriend, at the hands of the rest of the Rosie sisters.
  • It's All About Me: When Koala Man is exiled, Liam is comatose and Vicky is emotionally spent, Alison's biggest grievance is that she's probably not going to get any Christmas presents.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold:
    • As much of an entitled, self serving bitch as she is, Alison occasionally shows that underneath it all she does genuinely love her parents and brother.
    • She ends up reluctantly falling in love with Rosie near the Season One finale before that ends tragically.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: In the Season One finale, she finally became the most powerful girl in the school after all the most popular girls in school are removed. But she and Rosie ended up falling in love with each other, and after Rosie sacrificed herself to save her from her sisters, she isn't too happy about achieving her goal and still misses Rosie.
  • Teens Are Monsters: When Vicky warns her about becoming a monster from pageant training she scoffs that, as a teenage girl, she's already a monster. Given that she commits a horrific act of murder to advance her goals, she wasn't kidding.

    Liam
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_185106_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Michael Cusack

"I'm not obsessed with popularity like you, Alison. Besides, we have one thing that makes us cool, our Mum's the canteen lady!"

Kevin and Vicky's dorky son.

  • Accidental Athlete: Alison and Liam are revealed to be good at handball in "The Handies" after Liam shows great reflex when he hits the ball and later catches it when Koala Man accidentally deflects it back at him.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: While he's Alison's twin brother, Liam is generally treated as the youngest of the family due to his innocence and youthful interests.
  • I Am Not My Father: Liam prefers the glitz and glamour of America over the mediocrity of Australia (regardless of the surreal events that have been going on lately). This drives a wedge between him and his patriotic father.
  • The Lost Lenore: Liam fell in love with a girl in his music group, only to watch her get eaten by the Red Tingly a split second after she returned his affections.
  • Touched by Vorlons: Liam's got latent psychic abilities that gradually come forth over the course of the series, catalyzed by a bolt of electricity to the head by Sparky.

    Koala Mask
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_182833_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Michael Cusack

Koala Man's mantle, which habours malicious thoughts.

  • Expy: Being a mask that Kevin regularly imagines is telling him to do bad things brings to mind the Green Goblin from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy.
  • Redeeming Replacement: The Kookaburra throws the mask into the ocean, but it either returns or is replaced and Kevin imagines that it now encourages him to be a hero instead of a villain.

    Mindy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_182110_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Miranda Otto

"Even though we koalas are seen as useless, we're actually guardians observing the world, perched from high above. In every realm and every dimension there must be a Koala Man. This is your purpose and your journey is not over yet."

A koala that Kevin rescued. Her death is what spurred him into becoming a vigilante.

  • All for Nothing: Kevin rescued Mindy from getting hit by a truck. After nursing her, he relases Mindy back into the wild, only for her to follow him across the road, where she's run over by a car.
  • Kill the Cutie: Mindy was hit by a car shortly after Keven released her into the wild.
  • Posthumous Character: She's already dead by the time the series begins. Thanks to the Kookaburra.

Koala Man's Allies

    Spider
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_184743_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Jarrad Wright

Kevin's neighbour and best friend.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Spider is typically the one who gets Koala Man out of a tight spot, usually by committing an infringement that Koala Man disapproves of.
  • The Bogan: He's a mulleted slob with an audible slur.

    Louise
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_184418_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Rachel House

Owner of the local bowling club.

    Maxwell
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_184811_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Jarrad Wright

"This country's taking an elevator to Hell and stopping at every shit floor on the way down! Somebody needs to set things right!"

The oldest person in Dapto.

  • Butterfly of Doom: In the show’s universe, Australia literally exists 15 hours in the future from America, and thus has a "Red-Hot Rule" that forbids warning anyone outside of Australia of any impending disasters. However, in 1912, a young Maxwell sends a telegram back to the Titanic to warn them of their impending disaster, triggering a bizarre chain of events that results in America becoming a war-torn, anarchic wasteland and Hollywood a floating island separate from it.
  • Cool Old Guy: Maxwell broke Australia's time zone rule to save the Titanic and fought in the first Emu War, losing his legs in the process.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He was a child during the sailing of the Titanic, which would make him approximately 120 years old.

North Dapto High School

    Principal Bazwell
Voiced by: Jemaine Clement
The dorky headmaster. He turns out to be the Kookaburra himself.
  • Adults Are Useless: He does little to keep the kids out of trouble. This is because he's actually manipulating them for his own agenda.
  • Mellow Fellow: He's got a perpetually chilled-out approach to his job.

    Janine
Voiced by: Rachel House

"Well, if you need to motivate Kevin, whenever my Jerry needed some pep in his step, I TOLD 'IM TO FINISH BETWEEN ME TITS! God rest his soul."

Head of the school's canteen.

  • Extreme Libido: She's not shy about telling Vicky how often she engages in masturbation.
  • Really Gets Around: She's got a voracious sexual appetite, being able to engage in an orgy with several gods.

    Rosie Yodels
Voiced by: Claudia O'Doherty
The most popular girl in school.
  • Can't Live Without You: Alison tragically learns that if one of the Rosies dies then the other two will die at the same time.
  • Character Shilling: Everyone sings her praises, often for the most mundane of reasons.
  • Flawless Token: An Ambiguously Brown girl who is shown to be of higher moral character than the bitchy white girls in her year. Subverted when it turns out she's got two doppelgangers who are just as conniving as Alison.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: When one of the Rosies shoots a poisonous dart at Alison, she jumps in front of the dart to save her. The dart not only kills her, but it kills the other two Rosies since they share the same life.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Despite being the queen of the school's playground, she's actually a very kind girl. As it turns out, she's got two doppelgangers who are genuinely nasty.
  • Satellite Character: Rosie is Out of Focus for the majority of the series, as she's put on a pedestal by just about everyone.

    McKayla Taylor Mercedes
Voiced by: Michelle Brasier
Rosie's best friend.
  • Beta Bitch: She's Rosie's best friends who won't let other students near her unless they're cool. She sparks Alison's crueler side by taunting her unpopularity.
  • Put on a Bus: She's the first of Rosie's friends to get erased by Alison in her quest for popularity, when she's framed for Alison's hustle and put into confinement. Given the next two friends of Rosie's died horrible deaths, Michaela got off easy.

Other Dapto Civilians

    Big Greg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_185133_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Hugh Jackman

"Normally I would have my assistant Kevin throw you out on your arse for barging in here, but he's been in the bathroom for some time now. Between you and me, I think he's having a wank in there. He's quite repressed."

Head of the town council and Kevin's meat-headed boss.

  • Awesome Aussie: Parodied. Big Greg is a buff blonde macho man who otherwise comes across as a bit of a blowhard. He's also voiced by Hugh Jackman to complete the image. However, he's inferior to his brother Huge Greg!
  • Foil: To Kevin. Big Greg is a man's man who is well-liked by the town and gets results even if his actions might skirt protocol from time to time. Kevin meanwhile is unimpressive and viewed as an annoyance whose obsession with obeying the rules doesn't achieve much.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: In spite of his boorish exterior, Big Greg does genuinely care about his hometown and will do whatever he can to defend it when Koala Man inevitably screws up.
  • Mean Boss: He has little respect for Kevin, occasionally talking trash about him in the presence of Koala Man.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Downplayed since Koala Man's identity is pretty much common knowledge, but when Koala Man does manage to do something genuinely heroic, Big Greg thanks him while pretending to mistake him for Kevin.

    Damo and Darren
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_183817_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Michael Cusack

Two local hooligans.

  • The Bogan: Derros, to be specific. They're slovenly, simple-minded and get up to no good.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Damo and Darren were created years before the series was conceived as a series of Youtube shorts, so their character designs are out of sync with the rest of the cast.
  • Stupid Crooks: They tried to rob Chad Wagon's restaurant using plastic knives, but Chad comes in and brutally beats them to a pulp.
  • Those Two Guys: They're always shown together, seldom being relevant to the main plot.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: While still a jerk, Darren is nowhere near sociopathic as he was in the original shorts, especially to Damo.

Villains

    The Kookaburra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_182601_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Jemaine Clement

"First I'll take your sanity, then I'll take everything from you, Koala Man! Kookaburra will have the last laugh! KOO KAH-KAH KOO KAH-KAH! I'm the Kookaburra!"

A bird-themed supervillain who is plotting against Koala Man.

  • Arch-Enemy: To Koala Man.
  • Big Bad: The Kookaburra is a bird-themed criminal mastermind who has it in for Koala Man. As the series goes on, he's revealed to be behind every misfortune in Dapto, not to mention being the school's principal, the one who killed Koala Man's beloved animal companion and Kevin's former childhood friend, "Pissy Chrissy". Yeah, this guy's been busy.
  • Big Bad Friend: He turns out to be Kevin's childhood friend who became his archnemesis after a misunderstanding that Christopher has moved to New Zealand which lead to him being called "pissy Crissy" and the death of his family.
  • Bottomless Bladder: He's been holding in his urine for thirty years. When he finally releases it, it's enough to douse a bushfire that almost consumed Dapto. Kevin thinks holding in so much is what drove him to malicious insanity in the first place.
  • Determinator: He hasn't peed for 30 years just to plan his revenge against Kevin/Koala Man.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While in disguise as Principal Bazwell, he looks genuinely horrified when the Tigglies reveal they're going to eat Liam and Little Nina.
  • Evil Is Petty: The Kookaburra would endanger all of Dapto - if not the entire planet - just to ruin Koala Man's life. His reason for doing so is that Kevin was responsible for making him wet his pants as a child in front of his classmates which would later lead to a chain of events that resulted in the death of his parents and grandmother and his face getting mangled in a car crash.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Koala Man manages to snap the Kookaburra back to Christopher when he makes a makeshift bathroom pass and the Kookaburra stops attacking him. This allows Christopher to save the town by peeing the town itself and part ways with Kevin and his family on amicable terms.
  • Kick the Dog: The Kookaburra ties up Koala Man and leaves him to rot on Toothbrush Island, with his final taunt being to take Koala Man's mask and throw it into the ocean. Keep in mind Vicky made that for Kevin and he wears it as a tribute to Mindy, who was killed by none other than the Kookaburra himself.
  • The Hyena: He punctuates every appearance with his motif's laughter.
  • Nerd in Evil's Helmet: A criminal mastermind whose turn to villainy is fuelled by a childhood incident. Additionally, his day job is the school's principal.
  • One-Winged Angel: He injects himself with the manimal fluid to become a human-kookaburra hybrid. Funnily enough, the Kookaburra's manimal form looks less intimidating than his costume.
  • Unknown Rival: It isn't until the penultimate episode that Kevin learns he exists.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: As absurd and goofy as this show is, the Kookaburra is a genuinely creepy villain.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Kookaburra was originally Kevin's childhood friend Chris, but after Kevin refused to let him use the toilet without a hall pass, Chris had a Trauma Conga Line that drove him to villainy and he plotted to make Kevin's life hell after that.

    The Tall Poppy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_183737_youtube.jpg

Voiced by:

"Aw come on, man! Someone took all the top-notch rubbish! I've gotta get me garb on!"

A giant flower that eats garbage.

  • Anti-Villain: He's not actually a bad guy, given that he eats garbage. It's just that being deprived of his weekly food supply made him go off the rails. And since the Dapto residents dumped their garbage outside Kevin's house to spite him, the Tall Poppy just happened to run into Koala Man.
  • The Bogan: His speech is very boganesque, not unlike Bushworld Rick.

    The Tradies
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_184543_youtube.jpg
Voiced by:

"We ever catch you doing tradie work again, we'll burn you to a fucking crisp. mate! We run this town!"

A team of blue-collar workers. Members consist of Sparky, Brickie, Chippy, and Lady Tradie.

  • All Your Powers Combined: They can merge together to form a superbeing known as Jack of All Tradies.
  • Elemental Armor: Brickie can transform his skin into bricks.
  • Elite Four: They're four tradespeople with superpowers.
  • Eloquent in My Native Tongue: Brickie is monosyllabic, but his subtitles show he's very insightful.
  • Green Thumb: Chippy has the power to control wood, or at least wooden planks.
  • Killed Off for Real: When Jack of All Tradies is about to kill Koala Man, Vicky forces them to drink a softdrink which lead to them blowing up because they are weak against high-calorie beverages.
  • Meaningful Name: The Tradies' names are based on Australian tradie slangs which matches their occupation, minus Lady Tradie which just means she's a tradeswoman. Sparky is an electrician, Brickie is a bricklayer or builder, and Chippy is a carpenter. It also matches their superpowers.
  • Odd Name Out: Lady Tradie's name is the only one not based on Australian tradie slang.
  • Shock and Awe: Sparky can shoot lightning out of his hands.
  • Shout-Out: Sparky has spiky black hair and wears an orange vest, making him resemble Son Goku.
  • Spell My Name With An S: While Sparky and Chippy's name ends with a "y", Brickie's name ends with "ie".
  • Time Master: Lady Tradie has the power to slow or stop people with her construction sign.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: The thing that kills the Tradies is drinking soda because drinking it will ruin their perfect bodies.

    Chad Wagon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_184204_youtube.jpg

Voiced by: Justin Roiland

An American that tries to corrupt Liam.

    The Great One
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230224_182617_youtube_9.jpg

Voiced by:

A cosmic entity that fucks planets to death.

  • Destructo-Nookie: It fucks planets with enough force to wreck them, due to no planets being durable enough to withstand the act for the length of time needed for the Great One to climax.
  • Lovecraft Lite: A tentacled creature that can survive in the vacuum of space, is able to turn populations into a hive mind and can destroy planets just by fulfilling its needs. It's also got the personality of a fuckboy looking for a casual root.
  • Mars Needs Women: He causes the townsfolk to develop a hive mind, leading to the formation of a cult that contructs a rocket ship so they may fornicate with the Great One. As it turns out, the alien monstrosity just wanted to use their rocket as a dildo.

    The Tigglies
Voiced by: Michelle Brasier, Anthony Salame, Angus Sampson
A band of children's entertainers who feed on talented kids to stay young.
  • Child Eater: They eat children to stay young.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: They're a supervillainous pastiche of The Wiggles.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While they'll eat kids to stay young, they draw the line at misogyny, telling Koala Man that he shouldn't scapegoat Yoko Ono in regards to the Beatles breaking up as the band was already on its last legs when she started dating John Lennon.
  • Lightmare Fuel: Much like how the Wiggles have an assortment of costumed characters as their friends, the Tigglies have Uncle Bumpy, who looks a lot like Michael Myers.
  • Rasputinian Death: The Red Tiggly survives 2 violent car crashes until his burnt body was finally hit by Spider's truck and sandwiched him to a tree, finally killing him.
  • Red Is Violent: The Red Tiggly is shown in the most horrific onscreen manner, such as swallowing a girl whole and stepping out of an explosion with his skin burned off.
  • Sole Survivor: While Yellow Tigglie's fate is unknown, he's the only Tigglie who didn't die since Blue and Green Tigglie died in a car crash and Red Tigglie gets rammed into a tree by Spider with his car.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Last we see of Yellow Tigglie, he was knocked out by Alison and was left behind at the music camp with the others keeping an eye on him. Seeing how the other Tigglies are dead, he's the last one still alive and was most likely arrested.

    Huge Greg
Voiced by:
Big Greg's brother and coach of the Sydney handball team.
  • Big Brother Bully: He's been tormenting Big Greg throughout their entire childhoods, enough to make Big Greg whimper like a child.
  • Evil Counterpart: Unlike Big Greg whose only real flaw is his egomania, Huge Greg goes out of his way to be an arsehole.
  • Evil Is Bigger: He's a foot taller than his already large brother Big Greg and there's a disturbingly large bulge in the right leg of his pants.
  • Evil Is Petty: Every time Huge Greg shows up, he insults everyone within his sight and throws his weight around, acting more like a school bully than the middle-aged man he's supposed to be.
  • Testosterone Poisoning: He's even more macho than the already ridiculously macho Big Greg.

    Emus
Voiced by: Hugo Weaving (King Emudeus), Angus Sampson (General Peckmeister)
A race of sapient ratites that share a strained truce with humanity.
  • Blood Knight: General Peckmeister, leader of the emu army invading Dapto, is unable to contain his vicious enthusiasm over having so many humans to round up, torture and kill. Losing his left eye during the first Emu War might be why.
  • Historical Villain Upgrade: In one of the very rare examples of this happening to non-humans, the Emu army. In the real Emu War, the worst thing the Emus did was destroy crops in an already-impoverished Great Depression-era Australia. In the Koala Man universe, they were actually brutally killing people.
