Yuna and her friends

    Yuna Toomi

Voiced by: Rino Kawashima

"I wonder what... "yuri" is.

The protagonist of the game, a second-year girl who is not involved in any clubs and has no friends besides her Childhood Friend Hina and Ano, whom she met at high school. After Sachi and Megumi realize that she can see them, they recruit her to serve as a "Yuri Cupid" who gets couples together.
  • A-Cup Angst: As someone who's rather flat-chested, Yuna feels a bit awkward around the well-endowed Ano.
  • Blunt "Yes": In an extra chapter, Ano asks whether she's the only one who needs the summer homework session held with her, Yuna and Nena when the latter two have done their summer homework. Yuna says yes.
  • Brutal Honesty: She's not the type to mince words, whether in providing feedback on Youka's lyrics or asking Miki about why she goes so far in helping others. Both individuals appreciate it.
  • Club President: Of her middle school's cooking club. The fact that her clubmates resented her despite everything she'd done for them and the fact that she did it for their sake caused her to distance herself from others.
  • Cool Big Sis: She thinks of herself as a bit like an older sister to Hina, who calls her "Yuna-nee." Possibly because of that, it takes her a few weeks to process Hina loving her romantically and decide that she reciprocates Hina's feelings.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: Yuna was formerly cheerful and outgoing until she overheard her middle school cooking club members badmouthing her just before she could thank them for their hard work.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: While not completely cold, she keeps others at a distance, but opens up to them more due to her time with the kindred spirits.
  • Exact Words: When Matsuri and Miyu mention being in a relationship, Yuna says she didn't hear about it from Hina to avoid letting on how long she has known and how she found out
  • Gayngst: She doesn't think about her sexuality much for most of the story, but later on, she worries about how her parents and the Komanos might react if they found out about her relationship with her Childhood Friend Hina.
  • Heroic BSoD: Suffers one after Hina confesses to her, since Yuna's too busy wrestling with her feelings.
  • Hidden Depths: Other characters notice that she's a surprisingly good leader and well-organized, likely because of her experience as a Club President in the past.
  • I See Dead People: She's the first person who can see Sachi and Megumi, but not the last, as Ano and Hina prove able to see them.
  • Last-Name Basis: She refers to most people except for Hina and the kindred spirits(and later, Youka and Nena) by their surnames and appropriate honorifics, since even after she helps them, they're more acquaintances than friends. Notably, while she first sees and helps Maki in May, they never directly interact until a post-game scene in November.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: The In-Between of herself and the kindred spirits. She isn't quite as nice as Sachi, nor is she as blunt as Megumi; she's aloof at the start of the game but finds she enjoys helping others.
  • Oh, Crap!: In an extra chapter, Yuna makes a face that Megumi says is one of someone who just screwed up when she talks to Megumi when Hina is around.
  • One Degree of Separation: As aloof as Yuna is at first, she's linked to at least one member of every couple through Ano and/or Hina. Ano knows Nena from the broadcasting club and Kiri, while Hina is on the track team with Matsuri and Miyu and gradually befriends Maki, and Yuna herself was once classmates with Youka and is in Tsukuyo's class.
  • Second Year Protagonist: Unlike the first-years, Yuna knows her way around the school, but unlike the third-years, she doesn't have to worry about upcoming exams.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: She knows a lot more about the couples than she lets on thanks to her "Yuri Cupid" efforts and the kindred spirits' ability to watch people undetected, but doesn't tell anyone what she knows.
  • Shipper on Deck: What her role as "Yuri Cupid" boils down to- surreptitiously getting young yuri couples together.
  • Supreme Chef: Yuna is a talented chef, having formerly been the president of a cooking club.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: She often bickers with Megumi, but nevertheless likes and appreciates her as much as Sachi.

    Hina Komano

Voiced by: Mahiru Kanade

"...I'm hungry."

Yuna's Childhood Friend, who often comes over to eat with her when their mothers are busy. She's a first-year and is on the track team with Miyu and Matsuri.
  • Animal Motifs: Hina is compared to a puppy a lot due to her small size, straightforward attitude, simple-minded love of running, and her habit of trailing behind Yuna. One of her chibi sprites has her with puppy dog ears and a tail.
  • Big Eater: She has quite the appetite as a runner and is especially fond of Yuna's cooking.
  • Childhood Friend: She and Yuna met each other due to their mothers being friends, and have known each other since they were little. Eventually becomes a Childhood Friend Romance.
  • Cool Big Sis: Yuna, if not acting as the Team Mom. She also sees herself as like an older sister to her Childhood Friend Hina, at least until they start going out.
  • First-Name Basis:
    • She addresses Matsuri and Miyu by their first names, albeit with the "-senpai" honorific, and they use her first name without honorifics, indicating that they're fairly close for a senpai/kohai relationship.
    • In the post-game extra chapters, she eventually gets onto a first-name basis with Seina as she befriends the latter.
  • Japanese Sibling Terminology: She calls Yuna "Yuna-nee," and continues doing this even after they start going out.
  • Number Two: In her second year, she becomes vice-captain of the team to Maika Kitamura.
  • Only Friend: After Yuna heard that the rest of her middle school's cooking club secretly resented her, Hina was left as Yuna's only friend until Yuna met Ano.
  • Secret-Keeper: She's the first person who learns about Matsuri and Miyu's Secret Relationship, since Matsuri regrets how Hina got drawn into their feud.
  • The Quiet One: Hina tends to respond to most conversation attempts with a quiet "Mm" or a thumbs up. She's not uninterested in other people, she just doesn't feel to need to say much.
  • When She Smiles: Hina is usually unexpressive, but when she's happy, will beam with a beautiful grin that some characters comment on.

    Fuji Ano

Voiced by: Kei Togashi

"Yuri? Yuri?! Heheheheh... I'm excited!'

Yuna's classmate and friend. Ano also happens to be friends with Nena, Kiri and a few others.
  • Blunt "Yes": When Yuna asks Ano if she forgot anything, Ano says, "Yup," prompting Yuna to be annoyed with Ano for how proud of herself she sounds.
  • Boyfriend Bluff: In the first drama CD, she asks Yuna, Hina and Nena to act like her girlfriends in order to dissuade her stalkers.
  • Forgetful Jones: She routinely ends up forgetting to take things she needs, from her school supplies to her bra.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • While she has more friends than Yuna does at the start of the story, and seems like one of the more outgoing cast members(compared to the others, who usually stick with their clubs and cliques), she's a bit uncomfortable about drawing too much attention to herself.
    • She also keeps the fact that she can faintly see the kindred spirits secret, worried about what people would think if they found out.
  • Last-Name Basis: While Ano has the most friends out of all the cast, no one calls her by anything other than her last name.
  • Out of Focus: She doesn't show up at all in August due to traveling and not stopping by the school.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Ano is the only other character besides Yuna who can see the ghosts, although it's shown that she can't see them as clearly as Yuna can; Megumi is a yellow light to her while Sachi is blue.
  • Third-Person Person: She sometimes calls herself "Miss Ano"(or "Ano-san" in the original Japanese) when trying to sound cute.
  • Yuri Fan: Despite not being a lesbian, she's passionate about the Yuri Genre, and enjoys talking to Yuna about it.

The Kindred Spirits

Tropes that apply to both of them

  • Bickering Couple, Peaceful Couple: Out of the two couples that are already together as of the start of the game, the kindred spirits are the Peaceful Couple to Miyu and Matsuri's Bickering Couple. Sachi and Megumi often disagree but have no major conflicts over the course of the game, whereas Miyu and Matsuri spend an entire month feuding.
  • But Now I Must Go: At the end of the game, after having Their First Time with Yuna and Hina's help, they pass on.
  • Covert Pervert: Despite professing the purity of their love, their motive for enlisting Yuna's help in playing yuri cupid is so that they can invisibly observe female couples having sex - although only so that they know what to do for Their First Time.
  • Cute Ghost Girl: They appear (to Yuna) exactly as they did while alive, except for the occasional Hitodama Light.
  • Demonic Possession: They can possess people, allowing them to feel the same things their hosts do, although they never do this without permission.
  • First-Name Basis: The two of them are always referred to by their first names, and refer to most characters that way, too.
  • Insistent Terminology: They, especially Sachi, strongly prefer being called "kindred spirits" (Yurirei in Japanese) rather than ghosts.
  • Invisible to Normals: Only Yuna is able to see them. However, it is later revealed that Ano can also see them, but not as clearly as the others. Hina initially just takes Yuna's word for it when she mentions the ghosts, but Hina is able to see the ghosts during the night of Their First Time.
  • Jacob Marley Apparel: Since Sachi died at school, she was likely wearing the same black Sailor Fuku she always does as a ghost. The same may or may not have gone for Megumi, who died in the hospital. The two discuss this trope in the fourth drama CD's second part, lamenting that they can't change their clothes.
  • Orange/Blue Contrast: Megumi's "irritated" sprite has orange ghostly energy around her, while an uncommon Sachi sprite has blue ghostly energy.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: They can't leave the school or go anywhere they hadn't been where they were alive, but have limited powers, such as leaving messages in blood (Megumi), making things vibrate (Sachi) or possessing people.
  • Sailor Fuku: They wear the sailor fuku that used to be their school uniform.
  • Shipper on Deck: Their goal is to get yuri couples together, which is why they enlist Yuna's help.
  • Unfinished Business: They have lingering regrets that keep them from moving on to the afterlife. These regrets revolve around yuri. You do the math.

    Sachi Enoki

Voiced by: Shizuku Takaido

"We're on our way to a yuritopia!"

The ghost of a girl who died 80 years ago, in her third year of high school. She's in love with Megumi and seeks to establish a "yuritopia" at the school.
  • Becoming the Mask: Sachi's current persona is an attempt to emulate the girl who she loved while she was alive. However, Yuna points out that as far as she's concerned, the Sachi she knows is the real Sachi,
  • The Empath: She can sense feelings of love in others, although it's not always clear what the feelings are. For example, she knows one of the broadcast club girls is in love, but doesn't know who she's in love with.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: She saved her classmate from falling off the roof, but at the cost of falling herself.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Sachi repeatedly beats herself up over her own insecurities and fears what Megumi will think if she learns of her real personality.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Beneath her façade of a mature, cool Yamato Nadeshiko is a timid and cowardly girl with poor self-esteem.
    • Despite being mature and dignified in comparison to Megumi, in the past, Sachi was apparently responsible for some ghostly pranks on the student body, and helped students play with Ouija boards.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: The Nice compared to Megumi and Yuna, since she's one of the nicest cast members.
  • Nice Girl: For all her insecurities, she's a kindhearted girl at heart.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: In an extra scene, Sachi notes that she sees a lot of herself in Miki, since both are Nice Girls who seem mature and reliable at first glance but are more vulnerable than they first appear.
  • Poltergeist: She can make objects shake and uses this ability to subtly lure Miki and Maki to their disused storage room.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The calm blue oni to Megumi's red. She's a bit more reserved with her feelings and tends to be patient when it comes to people sorting through their feelings or their loved ones.
  • Second Love: Megumi is her second love, and her first is a classmate she admired from when she was alive.
  • Technologically Blind Elders: As someone who was born in the first half of the 20th Century and likely would be close to 100 years old if she were still alive, Sachi naturally struggles with modern technology.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: With her long Hime Cut, calm and refined manner, and ability to make requests that are very difficult to turn down.

    Megumi Nagatani

Voiced by: Junko Kusayanagi

"Sachi-san, I love you!"

The ghost of a girl who died 30 years ago, in her first year of high school. She's deeply in love with Sachi, but doesn't know how to consummate their love.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Played for laughs in an extra chapter. Megumi, despite being a ghost, doesn't believe that monsters exist, which Yuna notes is strange.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She gets rather annoyed when Yuna spends time with Megumi, since Yuna is the first possible competition for Sachi's love in 30 years, not to mention the fact that since Yuna started working as a "Yuri Cupid," it resulted in Sachi having to spend significant amounts of time apart from Megumi for the first time (especially since the spirits have different places they can and can't go).
  • Couldn't Find a Pen: She can leave messages in blood, and uses this message to harrass Yuna until the latter returns to the roof and agrees to be a "Yuri Cupid."
  • Cute Little Fangs: She has a fang that sticks out when she smiles with her mouth open.
  • Hidden Depths: She knows a surprising amount about cooking, due to having practiced during all the time she spent at home, even if she isn't nearly as good at it as Yuna is. She wants other people to enjoy her cooking, especially Sachi.
  • Hypocrite: She complains about Yuna not using honorifics on her, when she doesn't do so for Yuna. Her being older isn't an excuse, since Sachi and Yuna both use "-san" on each other.
  • I See Dead People: She was able to see Sachi back when she was still alive, and ended up falling in love with her.
  • Imagine Spot: After learning that Youka is in love with another girl, Megumi imagines Sachi praising her discovery.
  • Immortal Immaturity: Despite being in her mid-40s, she doesn't act that way.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She can be selfish and a bit rude, especially to Yuna, but she's nevertheless a good person at heart.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: The Mean compared to Sachi and Yuna. Megumi is blunt and often rude to most people besides Sachi, but nevertheless cares for Yuna despite bickering with her.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: She remarks that she's similar to Youka, in that both of them are girls whose love for their crushes often overrides their common sense.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While Yuna is feeling down while mulling over Hina's Love Confession, Megumi calls Yuna to a classroom. When Yuna asks about why Sachi isn't around, Megumi says, "Never mind Sachi-san right now. It's you I want, Yuna." Considering that Megumi usually dislikes being separated from Sachi, Yuna takes note of the change.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The temperamental red oni to Sachi's blue. She tends to say what's on her mind and gets impatient with people who don't immediately accept a Love Confession, like Miki toward Seina early in the game and Yuna toward Hina later on.
  • Third-Person Person: If you listen to her voiced lines, you'll notice that she calls herself "Megumi" instead of using Japanese Pronouns; for example, she says "Megumi-tachi," when saying "we."
  • They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!: She gets annoyed when Yuna addresses her without an honorific, claiming that she's more than twice Yuna's age. Yuna, however, points out that she died at a younger age than Yuna is now, and certainly doesn't act her "True" age.
  • Tsundere: While she's completely deredere toward Sachi, she's a tsundere toward Yuna, often demonstrating that she cares for Yuna more than she is willing to openly admit to her.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: For all she and Yuna argue, she actually does like Yuna.

The Beautification Committee

    Seina Maki

Voiced by: Mio Oukawa

"Senpai, I love you!"

A first-year who has a crush on her sempai, Miki. After confessing to Miki and agreeing to start as friends, she works alongside Miki in the Beautification Committee.
  • Atomic F-Bomb: She starts screaming profanity when assaulting the upperclassmen who mocked Miki.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's one of the nicest characters in the cast but explodes when she overhears some third-years mocking Miki.
  • Curse Cut Short: After Miki calms her down, gets her to stop attacking the third-year girl, Seina explains what happened.
Seina: W-Well, this piece of... th-these people were... making fun of...
  • Dude, She's Like in a Coma: Kisses Miki while the latter is asleep, something she immediately regrets.
  • I Have Brothers: Seina attributes her surprising strength and berserk rages to growing up with a father and brothers in the construction business.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She's overwhelmed with remorse after kissing Miki, and can barely speak to her for days.
  • Rejected Apology: Downplayed, but when the other third-years apologize for pushing work onto Miki, Maki doesn't appear fully convinced that the apology is genuine.
  • Student Council President: By the time of the first drama CD, Seina, now a second year, is student council president.

    Miki Aihara

Voiced by: Nanaho Misumi

"If there's anything I can do, please let me know, okay?"

A third-year who serves as vice-president of the beautification committee, and often takes requests from her classmates. Her kohai Maki is in love with her, and Miki gradually comes to return her feelings.
  • Extreme Doormat: She can't refuse other people's requests out of a fear of letting people down.
  • Grew a Spine: After the incident with Maki and the third-years, Miki becomes assertive enough to say that she will only take on requests that need her help.
  • Nice Girl: While her helpfulness is motivated by a fear of being hated, she's also a kindhearted person who forgives Maki for kissing her without her permission while she was asleep and doesn't get offended when Yuna questions her motives for helping others.

The Broadcasting Club

    In general
  • Club Stub: Averted. There are other members of the club besides Umi, Sasa and Nena, even if they're never shown.
  • Commonality Connection: It's occasionally pointed out that Sasa and Nena both have personalities that alienate them from most other people but refuse to change those aspects of themselves.
  • Love Triangle: Type 9, with Nena as the A and the other two as the B and C. Umi and Sasa love each other, but consider Nena their friend, and they, especially Umi, are concerned about how their romantic relationship might affect their friendship with Nena.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: The cheerful and outgoing Umi is the Nice, the cynical and sharp-tongued Sasa is the Mean and the sleepy Nena is the In-Between.
  • Numerical Theme Naming: Their surnames are Ichiki, Futano and Miyama, which led to them becoming friends.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: A cheerful and slightly ditzy girl obsessed with friendship, a sharp-tongued and gloomy loner, and a smart girl who loves sleeping. It's often pointed out that the real reason they became friends was because of their odd personalities. That said, they're not only good friends, but they work together on the broadcasts surprisingly well for a group of amateurs.
Sasa: The three of us all have pretty annoying personalities. If we were a bit more normal, we'd probably have more normal friends. We're stuck together now since we're all flawed.

    Umi Ichiki

Voiced by: Mahiru Kanade

"#1 is friendship! #2 is also friendship!"

A second-year member of the broadcasting club who's fixated on the idea of friendship. Sasa is in love with her, and Umi gradually comes to reciprocate the feeling.
  • Bros Before Hoes: She puts friendship before all else, so she makes Sasa (who, unlike most examples, is already her friend) promise that if their relationship makes things awkward with Nena, they'll end their relationship and keep things platonic. Luckily, Nena is supportive of their relationship.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: She assumes that Nena's distancing herself from Umi and Sasa because they're neglecting her, when it's actually because Nena wants to give the couple space. Luckily, Nena sets her straight.
  • Freudian Excuse: When Umi was young, her parents moved away from her hometown, and when they briefly came back to visit, Umi's friends had drifted apart from her. This event helps explain why she's so fixated on keeping her trio of friends together.
  • Genki Girl: She's by far the most chipper and energetic of the trio.
  • The Heart: She's the core of the broadcasting trio and keeps her friends together. Unfortunately, this sometimes leads her to work a bit too hard to keep everyone together.
  • Love Revelation Epiphany: She realizes she's in love with Sasa after the latter confesses to her, and it makes her happy.
  • Nice Girl: Despite being a bit overzealous about keeping their group of friends together, Umi's a good-hearted girl who cares for her friends.
  • Speech Impediment: Umi is known to stutter occasionally, and Sasa occasionally makes fun of her for it.

    Sasa Futano

Voiced by: Ren Haruna

"Yuri? Who gives a crap about that?"

A second-year member of the broadcasting club who has a sharp tongue. She's in love with Umi.
  • Blunt "Yes": Gives one to Umi after saying that the three of them stuck together because they're flawed.
Umi: Wait, does that mean I'm flawed, too?!
Sasa: Of course you are. Nobody'd would put up with your friend addiction besides weirdos like me and Nena.
  • Catchphrase: She often likes telling people who annoy her to "Die."
  • Chuunibyou: In the past, she had a fascination with magic and fortunetelling that she calls "eighth-grade syndrome."
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She gets annoyed when Youka addresses Umi by her first name without an honorific(which turns out to be practicing for doing the same with Aki), but doesn't seem to care about herself or Nena, implying that she doesn't like people who are too familiar with her girlfriend.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she's rather rude and gloomy, she cares for Umi and Nena.
  • Old Shame: In-Universe, her fascination with magic and fortunetelling in eighth grade is this, to the point at which she wants to kill her past self.
  • Self-Deprecation: She engages in a lot of it in internal monologues, when she expresses gratitude to Umi for being there for her despite Sasa's difficult personality. She also does so openly when she mentions that she, Umi and Nena all stuck together because their "flawed" personalities made it difficult for them to make normal friends.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Her dialogue is rather coarse and rude.
  • Tsundere: Even after confessing to Umi, she still acts as irritable as ever, but can be affectionate. In one extra scene, she gets annoyed with Umi for being late, but Nena notices a dopey smile on her face.

    Nena Miyama

Voiced by: Mahiru Notsuki

"Ah, I'm tired~"

A second-year member of the broadcasting club who is rather sleepy. She's Umi and Sasa's mutual friend, as well as a friend of Ano's.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: She's one of the smartest and most perceptive cast members, but also rather lethargic.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: She gets uncharacteristically angry when Umi contemplates ending her relationship with Sasa for Nena's sake.
  • Precision F-Strike: While less vulgar than Sasa, she responds to Sasa and Umi contemplating ending their relationship for her sake by saying, "Cut that shit out, would you?"
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: She knows about Sasa's feelings for Umi.
  • Smarter Than You Look: As sleepy and inattentive as she seems, she's actually rather perceptive, especially when it comes to her friends. She notices Sasa's feelings for Umi, and suspects that Yuna might be talking to the ghosts (although she doesn't know that they exist, unlike Ano and later Hina).
  • Verbal Tic: Has a tendency to insert tildes into her dialogue.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: She calls out Umi on being so worried about the trio's friendship that she'd consider breaking up with Sasa just to keep the group together. To a lesser extent, she also calls out Sasa for going along with it.

The Math Club

    Kiri Tsurugimine

Voiced by: Ren Haruna

"Aah, I can't get enough of cute things!"

A second-year and the sole member of the math club. She considers her teacher Tsukuyo adorable.
  • Club President: By default, she's the president of the math club.
  • Cuteness Proximity: She has a weakness for cute things, especially Tsukuyo.
  • Height Angst: She's not at all happy about being tall (roughly 170 cm), since she doesn't consider being tall to be cute.
  • Huge Schoolgirl: She's one of the tallest characters and feels self-conscious about her height preventing her from being "cute."
  • Last-Second Word Swap: Starts to call Youka "stupid" but switches to "brash" at the last second. Youka notes that it makes it hurt more.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Is in love with Tsukuyo despite the latter being her teacher.
  • Weak, but Skilled: A variant. In the "game of tag" when Kiri is trying to run from Tsukuyo and Yuna, Kiri doesn't have the stamina or speed to consistently stay ahead of Yuna, and instead has to rely on cunning tricks and deception to mislead her pursuers. She manages to elude her pursuers until Hina jumps out a second story window.

    Tsukuyo Sonou

Voiced by: Junko Kusayanagi

"I told you to call me Sensei!"

A second-year teacher at the school and advisor for the math club who gradually finds herself falling for Kiri.
  • Anger Born of Worry: She scolds Hina for jumping out a second story window to catch Kiri, since Hina ran the risk of seriously hurting herself.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: She turns out to be the teacher who's teaching class when Megumi writes messages in blood to Yuna.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Her suggesting that lesbianism is something Kiri will get over does not go well with Kiri, Yuna or the kindred spirits. When Yuna is worried about how to respond to Hina's confession, she's worried that Tsukuyo will say the same thing to her that she did to Kiri.
  • Last-Name Basis: Tsukuyo refers to her students by their surnames with the "-san" honorific, and while she calls Kiri by her first name without honorifics in private, she calls her "Tsurugimine-san" in front of others.
  • Older Than They Look: She's 25(later 26) and a teacher, but looks even younger than her students due to her short stature and cute appearance.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: In her chronologically last scene in the game, she asks Matsuri to call her "Sensei." When Matsuri persists in using -chan on her, Tsukuyo replies, "Sen. Sei."
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: After Youka gets in trouble for kissing Aki at the festival, Tsukuyo speaks up in Youka's defense and convinces the vice-principal to let her off with a warning.
  • Secret Relationship: She has to keep her relationship with Kiri secret, more because they're teacher and student than because they're both women.
  • Sensei-chan: Tsukuyo's students don't give her much respect; Yuna, Sachi, Miyu, Aki and Youka are among the few who address her as "Sonou-sensei." She's a 25(later 26)-year-old teacher with Girlish Pigtails who is both much shorter than, and looks quite a bit younger than, the 16-year-old Kiri. That said, she's much more professional than most examples of this archetype, and the fact that she acts just like a normal, capable teacher in spite of her adorable looks only makes her even cuter to Kiri.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: While Tsukuyo dresses nicely, Kiri likes the sight of her when she dresses up, such as wearing a suit for the entrance and closing ceremonies, or a kimono with hakama for graduation.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Gradually comes to reciprocate Kiri's feelings for her, but still feels a bit wary about the relationship.
  • They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!: She often has to remind her students to call her "sensei," but it generally doesn't get through.
  • Third-Person Person: A variation, since she often refers to herself as "Sensei."
  • Token Adult: The only recurring character who's older than 20.
  • Workaholic: Tsukuyo has a tendency to push herself too hard, which does not mix well with her poor constitution.

Youka and Aki

    Youka Koba

Voiced by: Rita

"Love's always rock, for sure!"

A chronically tardy second-year musician who has a crush on Aki Ariu, a disciplinary member.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: She's remarkably bad about keeping her plans to confess to Aki secret. It's revealed in Aki's POV scenes that she already knows Youka is planning to confess to her through the concert and eagerly looks forward to it, but plays along nevertheless.
  • Catchphrase: She likes using "rock" to describe anything she likes.
Aki: "Rock" is the highest compliment Youka can give something... No, it's not so much a compliment as it is a way of life. That's what it means to her.
  • Delinquents: She borders on being this with her lax approach to the dress code, chronic tardiness and playing in a band, but apart from that, is a good girl and well-behaved.
  • Didn't Think This Through: She's rather poor at making plans.
  • The Ditz: She's probably the least intelligent character in the cast. Even her friend Kiri has no qualms with calling her stupid to her face, although Kiri tries to correct herself.
  • First-Name Basis: She's on a first-name basis with Kiri and suggests that she and Youka use first names on each other, but initially feels awkward about using Aki's first name.
  • Genki Girl: She's a rather energetic and passionate individual, whether it comes to music or love.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite seeming like a borderline delinquent, she actually shows Tsukuyo the proper respect owed to a teacher.

    Aki Ariu

Voiced by: Kei Togashi

"Punctuality comes first. Yuri can come after that."

A second-year disciplinary committee member who's interested in Youka.
  • Alliterative Name: Aki Ariu. She's the only member of the cast with an alliterative name. Lampshaded in an extra scene in which Youka notes that her initials are AA.
  • Blunt "Yes": Inverted; when Youka asks if talking with her is a waste of time, Aki says, "Never."
  • Brutal Honesty: She's rather brutally honest when it comes to Youka, pointing out that there's no good reason for her to regularly be late to class. She also bluntly tells Kiri and Tsukuyo that their approach to paperwork is inefficient and makes them prone to mistakes.
  • Hidden Depths: She's highly prim and proper... but also is perhaps the least angsty about being a lesbian out of everyone in the cast, having known about her gender preferences since she was a young child.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She can be stern with tardy students or other troublemakers and has a bit of a reputation for being intimidating but shows a warmer side toward her girlfriend and those who are well-behaved.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: She's well known for her love of ice cream.
  • Uptight Loves Wild: She, one of the more serious and mature characters, likes the quasi-delinquent rocker Youka, and even shares her interest in music.

The Track Team's Leadership

    Matsuri Amishima

Voiced by: Mio Oukawa

"Girls? Love 'em!"

A third-year and captain of the track team. She is in a relationship with Miyu, but finds it difficult to restrain herself enough to keep it secret.
  • Chick Magnet: She gets confessions on a regular basis, and isn't above flirting with other girls.
  • Club President: She's captain of the track team.
  • Establishing Character Moment: When trying to recruit Yuna to cook for the training camp, Matsuri starts off by praising Yuna's lunches and admitting to sampling some of the food Hina brings, showing that she's laid-back, friendly and tends to say whatever's on her mind.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Unlike most of the other girls, who are only the object of their respective love interests' affections, Matsuri gets a lot of love confessions.
  • Jerkass Realization: She comes to realize that her inability to control her sexual frustration caused her feud with Miyu, and her realization enables them to make up.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red oni to Miyu's blue. She's impulsive, spontaneous and tends to do things on a whim without always thinking about the consequences.
  • Secret Relationship: She understands Miyu's belief that it's best to keep their relationship secret but finds it hard to hold herself back.
  • Technician vs. Performer: The Performer to Miyu's Technician. She adopts a Don't Think, Feel approach to running and tends to act on a whim when on dates.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Despite her lack of focus on technique, she's a faster runner than Miyu.

    Miyu Inamoto

Voiced by: Mahiru Notsuki

"Sure, but secretly. We can't let anyone find out."

Vice-captain of the track team and Matsuri's girlfriend. She comes from a traditional family and thus asks Matsuri to follow certain rules to keep their relationship secret.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Downplayed. Miyu isn't overtly hostile to potential romantic rivals, but Matsuri's popularity with other girls makes Miyu feel a bit insecure.
  • Death Glare: She's capable of giving a nasty glare when angry, something Matsuri makes note of.
  • Establishing Character Moment: She chides Matsuri for not being clear about what she wants from Yuna and gets straight to the point, showing that she's serious, mature and thoughtful.
  • Gayngst: Probably the most angsty about her sexuality outside of Kiri and Tsukuyo, although she's more worried about what others will think of her than uncomfortable with being gay. Her parents are rather traditional and strict, leading Miyu to be afraid that they might throw her out of the house if she comes out.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite insisting that she and Matsuri refrain from displays of affection at school, Miyu is very eager when she's on top, to the point that it scares Matsuri.
  • Jerkass Realization: She already feels a bit guilty about forcing Matsuri to keep to the terms of their promise, but by the time of their date competition at the festival, realizes that she should have considered Matsuri's feelings more and not dragged Hina into their feud.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite seeming like the most prim and proper character besides Aki and Miki, Miyu has a bit of a perverted and mischievous streak. More seriously, she's the one who brings Hina into her argument with Matsuri, leading to the date competition.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue oni to Matsuri's red. She's disciplined, makes meticulous plans and tends to be somewhat anxious about things that might go wrong.
  • Secret Relationship: She's worried enough about what her parents might think of her relationship that she makes Matsuri agree to rules to keep it secret.
  • Technician vs. Performer: The technician to Matsuri's Performer. She has excellent form when it comes to her running and makes meticulous plans for dates.
  • Troll: Matsuri observes that Miyu has a bit of a sadistic streak and likes getting a rise out of her. After getting a Love Confession from a first-year, Miyu brings it up to Matsuri to see how she'll react, since she's rather annoyed by Matsuri telling her about all of the confessions she gets. Matsuri ends up getting more upset than Miyu had intended, though.
  • Uptight Loves Wild: The serious and cautious Miyu sometimes finds Matsuri's acting on a whim frustrating but loves her for her spontaneity.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Miyu has a much better grasp of running techniques than Matsuri but isn't as fast as her.
