Ljósálfheimr, The Realm of Dreams

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ljosalfheimr_official.png
The Flower of Ljósálfheimr

In Book IV of Fire Emblem Heroes, the Order of Heroes travel to Ljósálfheimr, the land of dreams, a whimsical world inhabited by the ljósálfr. Freyr, the ruler of Ljósálfheimr, along with his cohorts Peony and Mirabilis, aid the Order of Heroes in their quest to defeat Freyja and her dökkálfar.

In the "Nihility & Dream" Tempest Trials series, the álfar of Ljósálfheimr and Dökkálfheimr are attacked by an old enemy they once defeated: the ruler of the nothingness herself.

    Realm of Ljósálfheimr in General
  • Adults Are Useless: More of "Adults From The Mortal Realm Are Useless", but in a flashback in Book IV Chapter 7 has Freyr and Freyja tell children dreaming that adults in the mortal realm forgot how to dream, and therefore unable to help them save their realms from Ginnungagap, and had to resort to asking the help of children pure of heart themselves to become heroes they dreamed of by drinking some flower nectar Freyja offers, including Sharena.
  • Animal Motif: Butterflies are the main theme of the álfar, as well as their realms.
  • Dream Land: Both realms exist because mortals dream, qualifying both realms as this.
  • Dream Weaver: The ljósálfar all bring good dreams to mortals.
  • Extra Turn: The álfar (except Freyr and Freyja) can all grant an additional action to an ally that has already taken their turn, to various effects.
  • Fairy Sexy: All of the álfar resemble traditional fairies, and most of them have both sizable busts and tight clothing that show Side Boob and bare thighs. The sole exception, Mirabilis, instead has her cuteness played up.
  • Fighter, Mage, Thief: While all of the fairy-like álfr are fliers that boost multiple stats at once, they each specialize in a specific type of gameplay, a trend that carries over to their alternate versions.
    • Peony is the Thief, having moderate Atk/Spd and below average Def/Res. She supports her allies by giving them extra movement options.
    • Mirabilis is the Warrior, always being loaded on Def/Res and average Atk, but very little Spd. She always has a way of dropping the enemy's Atk over a wide area.
    • Triandra is another Thief, having very high Atk/Spd in exchange for even worse Def/Res. She focuses on crippling the enemy's defenses.
    • Plumeria is the Mage, bucking the previous trends by having huge Atk/Res in exchange for very little Spd/Def. She boosts the damage of her allies.
  • Floral Theme Naming: All of the álfar are named after flowers, with Freyr and Freyja being an exception, which them being named after Norse Mythology characters.
  • Green Hill Zone: Ljósálfheimr is a peaceful world filled with many different kinds of flowers. As well as this, there are many rolling hills, pine trees, small houses with grass growing on the roofs, huge cliffs with flowing waterfalls, giant beanstalks, and rainbows. The forests combine this with The Lost Woods, with towering trees that have flowers wrapped around them as well as large mushrooms growing out of the side of cliffs.
  • Land of Faerie: Ljósálfheimr is the land of Dreams, inhabited by ljósálfr, who are friendly with children.
  • Our Elves Are Different: For one, they resemble fairies more than traditional elves.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: They're human sized fairies that have both of their race named after the Elves in Norse Mythology.
  • Plant Hair: The álfar all have flowers growing out of their hair. Freyr and Freyja are once again an exception to this.
  • Pointy Ears: Like their inspiration, all of them have pointy ears.
  • Shown Their Work:
    • The álfar of of Ljosalfheimr look like traditional fairies rather than elves. However, in ancient myths, elves and fairies (as well as dwarves and gnomes) were all said to have been the same creature, with the names used to describe them interchangeably.
    • The reason why "elf" and "álfr" can be used interchangeably is because "álfr" is quite literally just the word "elf" or "fairy". The word "ljós" means "light" and "dökk" means "dark", so combined it is translated literally as "Light Elf" and "Dark Elf" respectively. This is the same in Norse Mythology.
  • Theme Naming: While the rulers have their names come from Norse Mythology, most of the álfar are named after flowers.
  • Was Once a Man: All of the álfr were actually once mortals who were turned at a young age by drinking dream nectar Freyr and Freyja offered to them to save their realm from collapsing from the nothingness. Sharena was offered to become an álfr, but she refused and left the realm of Dreams, being called a traitor by Freyja when they meet again.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Freyr reveals in Book IV Chapter 10 that the dream nectar turns mortal children into álfr if they drink it, but the result is that they cannot return to their mortal lives again. It was with children with horrific childhoods that both Freyr and Freyja chose to offer the dream nectar to save their realms because those children would most likely will never want to return to their mortal lives if given the choice, as shown with Triandra and Plumeria in the previous chapters. The only one who refused was Sharena, as it was revealed in Book IV Chapter 11, and it is mainly because she has a caring family to get back to when her dream ends.

Dream-King / Estival Dreams
"Within dreams...all things are possible. But you are here with a purpose. Allow me to answer your question."

The vanir king of the ljósálfr and ruler of Ljósálfheimr. The brother of Freyja, he helps out the Order of Heroes to escape the Realm of Dreams. In Late July 2023, his regular variant was released as a Mythic Hero of Anima.

Voiced by: Tōru Furuya (Japanese), Jason Marnocha (English)
Artist: Yoshiku (regular), Sainosuke (Heroes, Summer's Dream)
Class: Blue Beast Cavalier (Heroes, regular), Red Beast Cavalier (Heroes, Summer's Dream), Elf (Cipher)

  • Action Initiative:
    • As a Beast Cavalier, his weapons, including his Raydream Horn, has the pre-7.7.0 standard effect of denying any of the foe's follow-up attacks if he initiates combat and is transformed.
    • His regular version's Dream Horn allows him to perform a guaranteed follow-up attack if he is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat, and his Dream Deliverer has [Resonance: Shields], where it denies any of the foe's follow-up attack during combat during the first combat the user participates in each player and enemy phase.
    • His Summer variant's Raydream Horn allows him to perform a guaranteed follow-up attack if he either initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally.
  • Anti-Debuff: His Dream Deliverer allows him to neutralizes any [Penalty] inflicted by start of turn effects such as Chill Def on himself and all allies within 2 spaces of him at the start of his and his foe's turns.
  • Apologizes a Lot: In Book IV Chapter 10, he blames himself for how Freyja has turned out and what lead to their current situation, and frequently asks for forgiveness from everyone.
  • As Long as There Is One Man: Implied. Upon being summoned, Freyr claims that he'll exist in some form as long as mortals continue to dream.
Freyr: I am Freyr, Dream-King over the realm of Ljósálfheimr... As long as mortals dream, I hold to my hopes...
  • Cooldown Manipulation: His regular version's Dream Horn grants him -1 max special cooldown, while his Dream Deliverer inflicts the Inverted variant on the foe, where he inflicts -1 special buildup per attack on the foe if he is within 3 spaces of an ally.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff:
    • As a Beast Cavalier, his weapons, including his Raydream Horn, has the pre-7.7.0 standard effect of inflicting -4 Atk/Def during combat if he initiates combat if he's transformed outside of combat.
    • His regular version's Dream Horn inflicts -6 Atk/Def on the foe during combat, as well as further debuffs to the foe's Atk/Def during combat equal to half of the total bonuses between himself and all allies within 3 spaces of him, if he is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat, as well as the post-7.7.0 Beast Cavalry effect of inflicting -3 Atk/Def on the foe during combat, as well as further -1 Atk/Def on the foe during combat for each space the initiator moved before attacking, up to -3 Atk/Def during combat, if he was transformed. He also has Lull Atk/Def 4, which inflicts -4 Atk/Def on the foe during combat as well as further -1 Atk/Def on the foe during combat for each [Bonus] the foe has active, excluding field stat buffs, up to -4 Atk/Def during combat, as well as ignore any field stat buffs the foe has on those stats during combat.
    • His Summer variant has Lull Atk/Def 3, where he inflicts -3 Atk/Def on the foe during combat, as well as ignore any field stat buffs the foe has on those stats during combat.
  • Damage Reduction: His regular variant's Dream Horn allows him to reduce damage taken from attack and non-Røkkr AOE specials by 30%, as well as the standard post-7.7.0 effect of reducing damage taken from the foe's first attack by 30% if he is transformed and the initiator moved at least 2 spaces beforehand.
  • Distressed Dude: The end of Book IV Chapter 4 has him be kidnapped by his sister Freyja, with the help of Plumeria and Triandra, and since he gave away Gullinkambi, his only defense against Freyja and the dökkálfr, to the Order of Heroes the chapter before...
  • Eyes Always Shut: His in-game artwork shows him with his eyes closed, since he's usually asleep. However, in the Book IV movie and certain frames in his character art, his eyes are revealed to be yellow.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: At the end of Book IV Chapter 10, he urges the Order of Heroes to kill him to weaken Freyja. Fittingly, he doesn't have anything equipped, and even goes near enemies to make things easier.
  • Hard Levels, Easy Bosses: At the end of Book IV Chapter 10, Freyr is guarded by four extremely dangerous and powerful Brave Heroes, and you're on a three turn time limit. Freyr himself is unarmed, defenseless, and slower than dirt, making him easy pickings once you reach him.
  • Heroic Suicide: At the end of Book IV Chapter 10, as the Order of Heroes are cornered by Freyja, he urges them to kill him in order to give them the chance to escape and stop his sister Freyja via Suicide by Cop.
  • Historical In-Joke: Freyr transforming into a divine goat and using his horns to attack in Heroes reference that in Norse Mythology, when he was against the jötunn Beli, he gave his sword to his servant Skírnir before he married the female jötunn Gerðr, instead using an antler to defeat Beli instead. The lack of weapon in Book IV of Heroes is also referenced, where in addition to lacking a proper weapon against Beli, in Ragnarök he will eventually fall against Surtr due to him missing his sword and using the same antler he fought Beli with instead.
  • Holiday Mode: His Summer variant has him in a summer-themed outfit while drinking from a pineapple.
  • Horned Humanoid: He has two brown straight drill horns pointed back. Fittingly, he transforms into a divine goat. Much like Freyja, it serves as a hint as to his true origins.
  • I Cannot Self-Terminate: At the end of Book IV Chapter 10, he doesn't have the means to end his own life in order to weaken his sister Freyja by barring her access to the power of Dreams, so he urges the Order of Heroes to kill him instead.
  • Killed Off for Real: At the end of Book IV Chapter 10, he performs a Suicide by Cop with the Order of Heroes in order to weaken Freyja by removing her access to the power of Dreams and allowing them to escape Dökkálfheimr.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Freyr is the older son of Njörðr, which is obvious with the visual similarities between the two. However, aside from how both of them are kings of one of the Nine Realms, the two are nothing alike: Freyr is genuinely helpful to the Order of Heroes and loves the presence of mortals, while Njörðr seems like a helpful authority figure at first glance, but in reality he just cares about himself and hates mortals with a passion.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: To his sister, Freyja, given how badly she reacts to his death at the end of Book IV Chapter 10. Freyr even acknowledges that his sister turned out the way she did because of him.
  • Mighty Glacier:
    • His regular version has outstanding Atk at 46, fantastic Def at 41, good Res at 35, and average HP at 41, but poor Spd at 16. Which would be devastating if he actually had a weapon equipped when he is fought at the end Book IV Chapter 10.
    • His Summer variant has fantastic Atk and Def at 38, great Res at 35, and average HP at 41, but poor Spd at 16.
  • No-Sell: His regular version has Atk/Def Clash 4 allows him to ignore any field stat debuffs on his Atk/Def during combat if the initiator moved at least 2 spaces before combat.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
    "Ah, humans. So lovely." (regular)
    "Why must we fight?" (regular)
    "Come now and behold!" (regular)
    "Your dreams end here." (regular)
"By the sea's beauty!" (Summer's Dream)
"Revel in the waves!" (Summer's Dream)
    "A summer's dream..." (Summer's Dream)
"Let us remember this..." (Summer's Dream)
  • Promoted to Playable: His Summer variant was summonable in 2021, and his regular version was summonable in 2023, 3 years for the latter after being an NPC for most of Book IV and his unavoidable death via Suicide by Cop as a Zero-Effort Boss.
  • Resurrected for a Job: In his level 40 conversation in Heroes, Freyr implies that he was summoned to Askr long after he canonically died.
Freyr: I am...a remnant of the dream realm... Though it seems I still have some role to play in this waking world...
  • Secret Art: His regular version has Dream Deliverer exclusive to him, where it neutralizes any [Penalty] inflicted by start of turn effects such as Chill Def on himself and all allies within 2 spaces of him at the start of his turn and the foe's, grants +6 Def/Res and the [Resonance: Shields]note  status effect to himself and all allies within 2 spaces of him at the start of his turn, and grants +4 Def/Res during combat and inflicts -1 special buildup per attack on the foe during combat if he is within 3 spaces of an ally.
  • Someone Has to Die: Because Freyja forces the necklace Brísingamen onto Freyr in Book IV Chapter 9, which allows her to have access to both the power of Dreams and Nightmare, and as a result become omnipotent, since attempting to stop Freyja at her peak and trying to escape Dökkálfheimr is nearly impossible, Freyr instead chooses to die at the hands of the Order of Heroes in Book IV Chapter 10 in order to give them a chance to defeat Freyja and escape the realm of Nightmare.
  • Status Buff:
    • His Summer variant's Raydream Horn allows him to gain +6 Atk during combat if he either initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally. He also has Def/Res Catch 4, where he gains +7 Def/Res during combat if the foe either is inflicted with a [Penalty] or is at full HP at the start of combat, and grants an additional +2 Def/Res if both conditions are active on the foe during combat.
    • His Dream Deliverer grants +6 Def/Res and the [Resonance: Shields]note  status effect to himself and all allies within 2 spaces of him at the start of his turn, and grants +4 Def/Res during combat if he is within 3 spaces of an ally. He also has Atk/Def Clash 4, where it gives him +6 Atk/Def during combat if he or his foe initiated combat and moved from a different space, and additional +1 Atk/Def during combat for each space moved, up to +4 additional Atk/Def during combat.
    • As a Mythic Hero of Anima, if an ally has an Anima Blessing during Anima season in Aether Raids, he gives them +5 HP and +3 Atk if they're on the battlefield, which can be stacked with other Mythic Heroes of Anima, including copies of himself.
  • Suicide by Cop: To make sure that the mortal realm is safe and that Freyja does not have his power of Dreams, he urges the Order of Heroes to kill him, which they do at the end of Book IV Chapter 10.
  • Sweet Sheep: He is able to transform into a Markhor goat, and he is peaceful and willing to help the Order of Heroes, to the point that he doesn't even put up a fight against them when he asks them to kill him in order to prevent having Freyja the control of Dreams.
  • Talking in Your Sleep: Freyr is still able to consciously talk with people even when he's asleep.
  • Theme Naming: Freyr is the god of love, fertility and the sun, twin brother of Freyja, and is the ruler of Álfheimr, also known as Ljósálfheimr, the realm of the light elves in Norse Mythology.
  • Voluntary Shape Shifter: Freyr transforms into a divine Markhor goat, and so is counted as a Beast unit in gameplay. However, in Book IV Chapter 10, he doesn't attack in that form due to urging the Orders of Heroes to kill him in order to weaken his sister.
  • Zero-Effort Boss: At the end of Book IV Chapter 10, he doesn't even have a weapon equipped, putting up no fight against the Order of Heroes. There is a big reason for this, however.

Sweet Dream / Cherished Dream / Álfar Dream Duo
"I must do my best to earn that trust, and to offer them my trust in return! I, Peony, the Sweet Dream, am here for you now...to bring joy back to all your dreams."

A ljósálfr of the Realm of Dreams, she is a Mythic Hero of Light and an ally of the Order of Heroes. Upbeat and cheerful.

Voiced by: Azumi Waki (Japanese), Ryan Bartley (English)
Artist: Yoshiku (regular, Attuned), Kippu (New Year: ω Special Heroes), Mashimasaki (Bite of Flame)
Class: Blue Flier (Heroes, regular), Axe Flier (Attuned), Green Flier (New Year: ω Special Heroes), Elf (Cipher)

  • Action Initiative: Her regular version's refined Flower of Joy grants her a guaranteed follow-up attack if she is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat.
  • All-Loving Heroine: When she wakes up in Freyja's nightmare and meets Plumeria, she immediately offers to help search for Triandra. After Eitr attacks and is defeated, Peony proposes a team up between three of them. Seeing as Eitr was actually an amnesiac Freyja, this ended up being a very good idea on her part.
  • Anti-Debuff: Her Gentle Dream+ gives the [Neutralizes Penalties] status effect, where it allows the user to ignore any field stat debuffs active on them during combat.
  • Arc Heroine: She's the deuteragonist of Book IV.
  • Balance Buff: Her regular variant in update 7.2.0 gives a refine for her Flower of Joy, where refined now gives +4 Atk/Spd during combat to all allies in cardinal directions of her and gives herself +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat if there is an ally in a cardinal direction of her, and the unique refine gives her an additional +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat, grants her a guaranteed follow-up attack during combat if she is at 25 HP or above at the start of combat, and restores 7 HP to herself and all allies in cardinal directions of her after combat. She also received Gentle Dream+, which, in addition of increasing the buff to +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res, also gives the [Neutralizes Penalties] status effect, where it allows the user to ignore any field stat debuffs active on them during combat under the same activation conditions, and receives Cross Spur Res.
  • Childhood Friends: Close one with Sharena, before she took her place as a ljósálfr.
  • Connected All Along: Although coming from different chapters of the story, she would technically be a version of Líf's sister, provided that she's the real Sharena.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: New Year Duo Peony & Triandra has Res Cantrip, where if the user refreshes an ally, inflicts -7 Res to the closest foe within 4 spaces of the user.
  • Damage Reduction: Attuned Peony's Flower of Caring allow her to reduce damage taken from the foe's first attack by 40% if she is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat. She also has Rockslide Dance 3, where it grants [Dodge] to her ally she danced to, where [Dodge] reduces damage taken from the foe's attacks and non-Røkkr AOE specials by 4% for each point of Spd the user has over their foe, up to 40% damage reduced.
  • A Day in the Limelight: She stars in the "Nihility & Dreams" Tempest Trials+ storyline, just like Fjorm and Eir prior.
  • The Dividual: Her New Year variant has her paired up with Triandra as one unit. Since Triandra is actually her sister, they also count as a Sibling Team.
  • Dream Weaver: Has the power to give people pleasant dreams.
  • Extra Turn:
    • Her exclusive Gentle Dream(+) assist skills functions like Dance or Sing, and grant her target and all allies in cardinal directions of her +3 Atk/Spd/Def/Res (+4 with Gentle Dream+) and the ability to warp to an adjacent space of an ally within 2 spaces on that turn (and ignore fields stat debuffs during combat with Gentle Dream+).
    • New Year Duo Peony & Triandra's Duo Skill acts similar to her Gentle Dream, which it allows the ally with the highest HP adjacent to the user an extra action, granting +3 Atk/Spd/Def/Res and the ability to warp to an adjacent space of an ally within 2 spaces to that target on that turn, but does not activate if there is more than 1 ally that share the same conditions.
    • Her Attuned variant's exclusive Tender Dream assist skill functions like Dance or Sing, and grant her target and all allies in cardinal directions of her +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res, the ability to warp to an adjacent space of an ally within 2 spaces and [Canto (1)] on that turn.
  • Floral Theme Naming: She is named after the Peony flower.
  • Fragile Speedster:
    • Her regular variant has good Spd at 36 and average HP and Atk at 38 and 31, respectively, but has low Res of 24 and poor Def of 16.
    • New Year Duo Peony & Triandra have fantastic Spd of 40, good Atk of 34, and average HP of 38, but low Res of 23 and poor Def of 16.
  • Friend to All Children: Her description indicates she enjoys playing with children. This is apparently due to how people tend to forget the existence of the ljósálfr as they grow older.
  • Guest Fighter: Appears as a light wand adventurer in Dragalia Lost.
  • Healing Hands:
    • The unique refine for regular Peony's Flower of Joy allows her to recover 7 HP to herself and all allies in cardinal directions of her after combat.
    • Attuned Peony's Flower of Caring allows her to restore 5 HP to allies within cardinal directions of her after their combat.
  • Heal Thyself:
    • The unique refine for regular Peony's Flower of Joy allows her to recover 7 HP to herself and all allies in cardinal directions of her after combat, even if she did not attack.
    • Attuned Peony's Flower of Caring allows her to restore 5 HP to herself after combat if she is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Sacrificed herself to save Sharena from becoming a ljósálfr.
  • Hidden Buxom: While her default form makes it obvious that she is at least modestly well-endowed, her duo unit with Tana shows she's every bit as large as Tana herself is (who is also this trope).
  • Hidden Depths: Despite how awfully positive she is, she feels the need to cry when someone calls her "sister." Considering the fate of Triandra and the fact they both had Abusive Parents, this makes a lot of sense.
  • Holiday Mode: Her New Year's variant wears a kimono attorned with flowers with Triandra, her older sister.
  • Leotard of Power: Concept art shows she wears a backless, thighless green leotard beneath her semi-transparent accessories and "skirt".
  • Light Is Good: Peony is a Light-elemental Mythic Hero, has a bright design, is optimistic and cheerful, and brings good dreams.
  • Mental Fusion: Of a sort, if you take what she says literally. She says to Sharena, "You and I are two halves of a whole. We each have half the other in us. That makes us the same!" It's ambiguous whether they somehow switched places through the dream world and it really did leave some kind of effect, or whether she's just trying to keep Sharena from worrying.
  • Modesty Shorts: Interestingly, she only wears them in the Book IV cinematic trailer. This might be because of all the potentially compromising angles and shots in the trailer, but one good look at her official art (especially her damage art) shows that she’d be quite exposed otherwise.
  • Moveset Clone: With her regular version, to Legendary Azura in terms of role. The two are blue mage flier refreshers who can grant big stat buffs to their teams, and also help improve score and stats in specific competitive modes. The two also share the B Duel Flier skill for the purpose of scoring, and Aerobatics to fly around their grounded allies, as well as a C skill to grant said big buffs (Atk Tactic 3 for Azura, Fortify Res 4 for Peony), and their remix for their weapons makes them good hitters if needed to enter the fray and further support their allies and their Assist skill gives status effects that counter against field stat debuffs. However, the differences mainly lie in the specifics of their refreshing abilities.
  • Nice Girl: Peony is an absolute sweetheart.
  • The Nose Knows: In Book IV Chapter 4, it's revealed that she can smell where bad dreams are located.
  • Not So Similar: Despite being rather similar to Legendary Azura, Regular Peony and Azura have enough gameplay differences that make them unique with their default skills.
    • Azura's base kit favours a mixed team set up due to her Atk Tactic 3, although the +1 Mov from her Gray Waves will only affect Infantry or Flier allies anyway. She can set up and massively buff one unit (with the Atk Tactic 3 buff, she'll grant +6 Atk/Spd/Def/Res, and +1 Mov for Infantry and Fliers), but that can't be granted until she moves and refreshes, meaning she needs to be mindful of her positioning to use her Prayer Wheel's active effect. Her Aerobatics 3 and Atk Tactic 3 both work on allies two spaces away, so she can't stray too far from them. Her remix has her Prayer Wheel guve +6 Spd to all allies within 2 spaces of her at the start of her turn and gives her +5 Atk/Spd and Triangle Adept 3 during combat, and Gray Waves II also gives [Null Panic] to her target ally to counter against and reverse the effects of [Panic].
    • Regular Peony's base kit is more straightforward, with Fortify Res 4 for a big Res buff with no team composition restrictions, although she will need to stay adjacent to an ally for it to activate. Her Gentle Dream will grant +3 Atk/Spd/Def/Res and the Orders status note  to the targeted ally and any other ally within cardinal directions of both her and the targeted ally. This means she needs to be mindful of her positioning and the positioning of her allies to make the most of this effect. Her Flower of Joy also has a passive effect in granting +3 Atk/Spd during combat to allies in a cardinal direction from her, so she can support her team even before moving, and stay far from the action, just as long as she stays within the line of sight of her teammates. Her remix has her Flower of Joy give her +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat and the unique refine give an additional +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat and a guaranteed follow-up attack and restores 7 HP to herself and all allies within cardinal directions of her after combat, and her her Gentle Dream+ also give [Neutralizes Penalties] to allies to counter against general field stat debuffs, including [Panic].
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: As Attuned Peony, the tips of her hair are colored blue, similar to Triandra's color scheme.
  • The Power of Friendship:
    • Regular Peony's Flower of Joy has the refined version give her +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat if there is an ally within a cardinal direction of her.
    • New Year Duo Peony & Triandra has Atk/Spd Bond 4, where it grants the user +7 Atk/Spd as well as ignore any field stat debuffs to those stats during combat if the user is adjacent to an ally, as well as Joint Drive Atk, which grants the user and any allies within 2 spaces of the user +4 Atk during combat if there is an ally within 2 spaces of the user.
    • Attuned Peony's Flower of Caring gives her +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat if there is an ally in a cardinal direction of her if she is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat, as well as Atk/Spd Unity, where it grants +5 Atk/Spd during combat as well as basically reverse any field stat debuffs she has on her Atk/Spd during combat, where for example if she has -5 Atk and -7 Spd, she gains +10 Atk and +14 Spd during combat, effectively getting +5 Atk and +7 Spd during combat, for a total of +10 Atk and +12 Spd during combat, all which activates if she is within 2 spaces of an ally, and Atk Oath Echo, which grants her +6 Atk and the [Orders] status effect at the start of her turn if she is within 2 spaces of an ally.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
    "Don't you dare!" (regular)
    "Cut that out!" (regular)
    "Be good, now!" (regular)
    "Nap time!" (regular)
    "Enough of that!" (Attuned)
    "Listen, you!" (Attuned)
    "Hush now..." (Attuned)
    "Rest your eyes." (Attuned)
"Happy New Year!" (New Year: ω Special Heroes, with Triandra)
"This year, we'll be..." (New Year: ω Special Heroes)
Triandra: "...Together again!" (New Year: ω Special Heroes)
"Wake up time!" (New Year: ω Special Heroes)
Triandra: "What? Still asleep?" (New Year: ω Special Heroes)
  • Prince and Pauper: Considering how often they swapped places, this is implied between she and Sharena, as she had an abusive home life. However, it's technically unknown who the "real" Sharena is; Peony implies they might be "two halves of a whole" at this point.
  • Riddle for the Ages: It's left ambiguous on who the real Sharena is. Although Peony "took Sharena's place" in becoming an álfar, the two swapped places so much they began to forget who was who, and the Peony we know may be the girl who was born Sharena. It's never directly cleared up.
  • Secret Art:
    • Regular Peony and New Year Duo Peony & Triandra has Gentle Dream, which is an assist skill exclusive to them, where it functions like Dance/Sing/Play, and gives all allies within cardinal directions of them and the target +3 Atk/Spd/Def/Res as well as allow them to warp to an adjacent space of an ally within 2 spaces for one turn. Regular Peony also has Gentle Dream+, where, in addition of increasing the buff to +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res, also gives the [Neutralizes Penalties] status effect, where it allows the user to ignore any field stat debuffs active on them during combat under the same activation conditions.
    • Attuned Peony has Tender Dream, which is an assist skill exclusive to her, where it functions like Dance/Sing/Play, and gives all allies in cardinal directions of them and the target +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res as well as allow them to warp to an adjacent space of an ally within 2 spaces and grants them [Canto (1)] for 1 turn.
  • Sibling Team: Since Triandra is actually her older sister, their New Year variant is this.
    • If she is the real Sharena, it would make her this with Alfonse as well.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Peony is an optimistic, cheerful ljósálfr who delivers good dreams to mortals while her sister Triandra is a pessimistic, deadpan dökkálfr who brings nightmares.

She also has Fortify Res 4, which gives all adjacent allies at the start of their turn +7 Res, and Cross Spur Res, which gives +5 Res during combat to all allies within cardinal directions of her.

Her Gentle Dream+ increases the buffs to +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res, and also gives the [Neutralizes Penalties] status effect, where it allows the user to ignore any field stat debuffs active on them during combat under the same activation conditions.
    • As a Mythic Hero of Light, if an ally has a Light Blessing during Light season in Aether Raids, she gives them +5 HP and +4 Spd if they're on the battlefield, which can be stacked with other Mythic Heroes of Light, including copies of herself.

They also have Atk/Spd Bond 4, which gives the user +7 Atk/Spd and ignore any field stat debuffs to those stats during combat if the user is adjacent to an ally, and Joint Drive Atk, where the user gains +4 Atk during combat if the user is within 2 space of an ally, as well as granting all allies within 2 spaces of the user +4 Atk during combat.
    • Attuned Peony has Flower of Caring, which grants +5 Atk/Spd during combat to all allies within cardinal directions of her, and if she is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat she grants herself +5 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat, and an additional +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat if there is an ally in a cardinal direction of her under the same conditions. She also has Tender Dream, where she grants +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res and the [Orders] and [Canto (1)] status effects to her target ally and all allies within cardinal directions of her and her target, Atk/Spd Unity, which grants her +5 Atk/Spd during combat, as well as reverse any field stat debuffs she has on her Atk/Spd during combat, if she is within 2 spaces of an ally, Rockslide Dance 3, which grants +6 Spd/Def and [Dodge] to her target ally she dances to, Cross Spur Spd, which grants +5 Spd during combat to all allies within cardinal directions of her, and Atk Oath Echo, which grants +6 Atk and the [Orders] status effect to her at the start of her turn if she is within 2 spaces of an ally.
  • Swapped Roles: Did this with Sharena frequently in real life, back when she was also a human girl. It's to the point it's unknown who the real Sharena is.
  • Take Me Instead: Took Sharena's place as an ljósálfr when they were children to protect her.
  • Thong of Shielding: Her leotard is shown to heavily ride up and show off most of her butt from behind in concept art that removes her "skirt". The same concept art shows that the semi-transparent skirt is actually so short that some of her butt and the riding up portion of her leotard is visible even with the skirt when seen from behind.
