In General
- Awesome, but Impractical: They have the highest attack out of all types, but they're locked to the first and last attacking turns, making them not as effective when it comes to attacking.
- Bottomless Magazines: They are never depicted as running out of bullets or having anything to store the bullets. It's not known if what comes out of their barrels is even bullets.
- Warrior Poet: All gun-type authors are poets and/or fairy tale writers, making most of them this. Special mention to Masaoka Shiki, who says haikus during battle.

- No Sense of Direction: His line for looking for a 'special research' event author says that while he's looking for someone lost, he has to make sure he doesn't get lost himself.

- Flanderization: While he did play baseball during his middle school, it's a relatively trivial thing about him compared to his reputation as one of the greatest haiku poets in Japan, but the game takes the fact he used to be a baseball player and runs with it, with him having a healthier body after being reincarnated as the justification(since he's constantly living with tuberculosis during his past life).

- Elegant Gothic Lolita: A corseted dress, stockings, hats, gloves plus lots of frills, bows and lace.
- Even the Guys Want Him: Katai, which amuses him.
- Gameplay and Story Segregation: In-story, he's immune to arrows. This doesn't prevent bow-types from normally attacking him in the special boss stage or him from taking damage from bow-type enemies.
- Old Shame: In-Universe, he sees his old works like this and becomes a taint in order to destroy them in spite of his associates' wishes.
- Ship Tease: With Tōson and Katai; his deep appreciation of the former is delivered with the subtlety of a boulder to the face, while the latter is often subject to teasing from him and may or may not have had sex with him while both were drunk.
- What Did I Do Last Night?: May or may not have done… something… with Katai when both were drunk, as revealed in the latter's letter.
- Yandere: Possibly the biggest offender of this in this game – he treasures his friendship with Tōson to the point where he loses all hope after his own death, tries to imprison Tōson and keep him forever after they reunite, tries to kill his other associates for getting in his way, and when all that fails, wants to disappear along with the works he's destroyed until Tōson talks him out of it.

- Shrinking Violet: Isn't very comfortable around those he is unfamiliar with. Though once he warm ups with you, you just watch his mouth.
