    In General
  • Blood Knight: Many Braves follow the first Brave's ideology and are needlessly violent in their war against the Demons.
  • Dirty Coward: Some Braves are like this, and given the chance, they would run away from a powerful opponent if they know they can't kill them, especially with the payout is low.
  • Ironic Name: The first Brave and nearly all of the other Braves are far from what you would think of "bravery". As they're either cowards who would most likely run from particular strong demons (unless properly motivated through EXP or have a high bounty) or just incredibly bloodthirsty and delusional to the point of masking their true intentions by claiming to fight for peace and justice.
  • Magic Knight: Some Braves are both capable warriors and magic users.
  • Meaningful Name: Braves seem to take names and titles that are supposed to correspond to who they are.
  • Moral Myopia: The morality of Brave Kingdom is warped to basically worship Braves at their feet. How inherently hypocritical that makes them is best illustrated in a scene of a mother telling her son he needs to work and study hard or he will have to become good for nothing thief robbing people...while Main Brave is robbing them blind. And when the kid points that out, she says Braves can take whatever they want, even all of a family's means to live, and encourages her son to be like them.
  • Revenge Myopia: If a Demon manages to kill a Brave in self-defense, any loved ones they have would simply advocate for their destruction in revenge. No matter who attacked first.
  • Teens Are Monsters: While everyone is of Vague Age, it's very likely that people can become Braves when they reach their teens.
  • Van Helsing Hate Crimes: Humans are disturbingly eager to kill all demons, even if they're children or just living near them, simply because they are demons.
  • Villainous Valour: Deconstructed. While most Braves we've seen are Dirty Cowards, there're those who aren't and are willing to die in battle for "peace and justice". However, given the immense Moral Myopia surrounding them, this isn't seen as heroic but as a vanity in Black Brave's example.

    Main Brave
A newbie Brave and The Hero of the series.
  • Audience Surrogate: He is very clueless about everything, which allows him to serve as an excuse to explain the rules and inner workings of the setting.
  • Blue Is Heroic: At first inverted, then played straight after he switches sides.
  • Character Development: Starts fairly unlikeable and selfish but matures greatly over the course of the story.
  • Decoy Protagonist: In the show. After the timeskip, he is introduced seemingly as the new main character, but he serves only to show how corrupt Braves are and to set off Goblin's storyline.
  • Demoted to Extra: He's not the viewpoint character compared to the original comic.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After befriending Goblin, he eventually realizes that being a Brave isn't what he was raised to believe.

    Fair Brave (SPOILERS!
See: Brave Series Demons under Morewant

    Black Brave
An imposing, armor-clad Brave in black. He is said to be an invincible warrior.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Not much is known about the comic's version except he killed White Brave after the latter challenged him to a duel. The show's version enjoys killing demons and is directly responsible for Fair Brave becoming new Morewant.
  • Ascended Extra: In comics, he is a figure of legend, who died long before the beginning of the series. In the show, he plays a crucial role in the first episode.
  • Beard of Evil: Spiky white beard.
  • The Big Guy: He's the tallest of all the Braves and the most powerful warrior.
  • Black Knight: With black armor and a terrifying appearance.
  • Blood Knight: He clearly enjoys killing demons, especially if they could give him a challenge.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Played With. His armor gives him powers of a level 100 character, but since, unlike his successor, he actually kills his enemies, his actual level is likely even higher.
  • Dark Is Evil: He's an intimidating Black Knight and goes by the title of "Black Brave", and is eviler than any of the Demons that the humans viewed as Always Chaotic Evil.
  • Evil Old Folks: Implied. He's got a white bushy beard and is one of the most bloodthirsty of the Braves.
  • Face of a Thug: Has a face similar to The Ice King, and it showcases his evil nature.
  • Hypocrite: He claims to fight and kill Demons in the name of "fairness and justice", but really shows that he's only interested in the fighting, war, and bloodshed, and can't fantom a life outside of being a warrior. In fact, this is also what led to his Suicide by Cop tactic against Fair Brave, just as much as him being a Sore Loser.
  • Not So Invincible After All: Despite his reputation as undefeatable, he lost to Fair Brave.
  • Obviously Evil: Imposing figure clad in black, looking more monstrous and scary than many demons, turns out to be a bastard? No way.
  • One-Man Army: He takes on the strongest demons and countless numbers of lesser ones by himself without breaking a sweat, and would likely single-handly slaughter them all if not for Fair Brave unlocking his Heart of Darkness.
  • Parental Neglect: Given his personality and importance as the Brave Kingdom's Invincible Hero In-Universe, he very likely wasn't involved in Chief Brave's life much, which would also be implied to play a factor in the latter's involvement with Fair Brave/Morewant.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: His color scheme is predominantly hot pink and black, and he's not a heroic person deep down.
  • Scary Teeth: Sports a pair of these, which only add to his already intimidating appearance.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only appears in the first episode of the show, but his actions echo through the rest of the series.
  • Sore Loser: After being defeated he decides to commit suicide and convince the whole world that Fair Brave is his killer, a traitor, and the new Morewant king of demons, out pure of spite rather than live with his reputation shattered.
  • Walking Spoiler: His actions in the first episode make it impossible to discuss him without serious spoilers.

    Dragon Girl/Dragon Brave

    Chief Brave
  • Affectionate Nickname: Is referred to as "Chiefie" by Desire Queen.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: He may be The Stoic and The Everyman, but Chief Brave is still capable of shutting others down with his words alone by pointing out something uncomfortable to them and is in possession of his father's armor.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Unlike his father, Chief Brave's a non-combatant who, without using his father's armor and sword, is only The Everyman who can be killed quite easily.
  • Consummate Professional: Unlike other Braves who are in it for the money, glory, or just plain blood lust, Chief Brave is always stoically professional on the field.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's Black Brave's son and has inherited his father's armor, and is currently a secret ally to Morewant/Fair Brave.
  • The Everyman: Unlike his father, Chief Brave isn't a warrior and mainly relies on the armor he inherited to incapacitate Demons.
  • Foil: To his deceased father, Black Brave.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Because of his stoic nature, lack of enthusiasm in exterminating the Demons, and using non-fatal attacks on them, nobody in the Brave Kingdom seems to like Chief Brave or held him in high regard compare to his father. Even his father's armor, which he inherited, serves as a spy camera to check for any sense of betrayal.
  • Light Is Good: He wears a white dress shirt, both as a child and adult, and is secretly an ally to Fair Brave/Morewant.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Oh where to begin with Chief Brave, the son of Black Brave.
  • Martial Pacifist: Unlike other Braves, he doesn't kill Demons nor gain any EXP on the field.
  • Odd Friendship: With the outgoing and flirtatious Desire Queen.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Chief Brave clearly is thoroughly disillusioned with his job as a Brave.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Downplayed. The only thing that Chief Brave and his father have in common is their pink color scheme, and other than that, they couldn't be more different in both appearance and personality.
  • The Stoic: He rarely emotes and talks in a dull, but soft tone.
  • Squishy Wizard: When using Black Brave's armor and sword, Chief Brave is capable of using powerful magic attacks. But underneath that equipment, is only an average civilian who can be killed easily.
  • You Killed My Father: Averted. Despite witnessing his father's (doctored) murder at the hands of Fair Brave, he clearly knows that there's something more going on by watching Fair Brave's sorrow, nevermind the fact that he's one of the few humans who doesn't display the intense Moral Myopia that every human character is seen to have, which led to him being an ally to Morewant/Fair Brave.

    Loyalty Brave

  • Beard of Evil: After the timeskip, he has grown into a very evil-looking goatee.
  • Canon Foreigner: Invented for the show, he does not appear in the comics.
  • Composite Character: Takes on the role of a few minor characters throughout the story.
  • Eye Scream: Loses an eye to a Goblin arrow in the first episode.
  • Handicapped Badass: Losing an eye and growing into middle age didn't dull his effectiveness as a warrior.
  • Identical Stranger: He looks a lot like Dragon Slayer Brave, despite being entirely unrelated.
  • Ironic Name: He fears finding evidence that his loyalty was really nothing but unthinking obedience all along.
  • The Scapegoat: Is blamed for the failure of capturing Blue Dragon and Dragon Slayer Brave, despite being knocked out early on in the fight.
  • Suicide by Cop: Attempts this in the final episode of season one by challenging Morewant/Fair Brave to a duel to the death. He reasons that either Morewant/Fair Brave kills him, thus he won't have to face early retirement and life in shame, or he kills Morewant/Fair Brave, thus erasing the reason for fighting demons and screwing the Brave Kingdom's most profitable venue, his revenge after they repaid his loyalty with making him a scapegoat.

    Sword Brave
  • Cat Girl: Her appearance is a cat person Demon.
  • Consummate Professional: Unlike other Braves who are in it for the money, glory, or just plain blood lust, Sword Brave always presents herself as stoically professional on the field.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She's a Cat Girl Demon and is very "easy on the eyes".
  • Did You Actually Believe...?: When hearing Goblin's trust in Main Brave, she amusing asks him if a Brave can be trusted.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Is actually very fond of Dragon Brave and may be her only friend among the Braves. It has led to theories she may be in a similar situation to her.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: She wields one as a Brave and is incredibly deadly with it.
  • Master Swordsman: According to Main Brave, she's very talented and skilled with her sword.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She wears a tube top and a miniskirt.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: Is implied to be this for the Brave Kingdom. Even her Did You Actually Believe...? question towards Goblin regarding his trust in Main Brave is less at taunting him and more of her calling him out on his trust being misplaced on a "typical Brave".
  • The Stoic: She's rarely vocal is usually talks in a calm tone.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Is seen as this in-universe by the Brave Kingdom, but is heavily implied to be in the same boat as Dragon Brave.
  • Token Nonhuman: Seems that she was the only Brave who isn't a human, at least until Dragon Brave joined. The two get along pretty well.
  • Weapon-Based Characterization: The only Brave to wield a Japanese katana compared to the usual European weapons that other Braves use, showing her stoic and professional attitude on the field and indicating that she's not truly on their side.

    Despair Brave

  • Really 700 Years Old: She is seen in a flashback hundreds of years ago, among the Original Brave's first followers. Does not appear to have aged at all since then.

    Superstar Brave
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Superstar Brave may seem like a guy that's more bark than bite and focus more on appearing good in public, but he is a powerful and skilled swordsman according to Main Brave.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: He's a Master Swordsman and an incredibly vain one at that.
  • Slave to PR: He's no slouch as a Brave, but he puts too much focus on positive ratings. In fact, when he starts egging Chief Brave on for any signs of being a Demon sympathizer in episode 5, the latter gets him to back off easily by pointing out his failure from the events of the last episode and it won't remove the negative ratings he's currently getting at the moment.
  • Weapon-Based Characterization: He wields a Suave Sabre that also doubles as a microphone. This represents both his skill with a sword and narcissistic behavior.

    Dragon Slayer Brave

    King of War
A warmongering king who took over after the assassination of the good king, on a platform of exterminating demons once and for all...only to get himself killed by Morewant.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Even though that the King of War wasn't responsible for assassinating the Old King and pinning it on the Demons, there're plenty of hints that he might have been aware of the assassination that would've to befall the Old King, but ultimately stood by and allowed it to make it easier to ascend the throne.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Even the intro to the show portrays him as such, being pushed aside by his successor.
  • Combat by Champion: He and Morewant/Fair Brave dueled each other instead of having their armies battle. The end result? Morewant/Fair Brave won... 'easily.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: While he does show some resistance against Morewant/Fair Brave in their duel, King of War is ultimately overpowered by him.
  • General Ripper: He was in charge of the whole kingdom and seems to have no personality beyond "wage war against the demons".
  • Red Herring: He was briefly shown listening to Fair Brave's private conversation with the Old King, indicating that he had something sinister planned. After the Old King was assassinated by an alleged Demon, along with King of War proclaiming that he had taken over the Old King's position as part of the latter's last wishes, it causes the audience to be further suspected of him secretly usurping the throne. Turns out that the King of War really wasn't responsible for assassinating the Old King, as Morewant confirms to Fair Brave that it was a Demon who assassinated the Old King out of personal reasons.
  • Suicidal Overconfidence: He attempted to take Morewant/Fair Brave in single combat and thought he could win. In the show, it's even worse as Morewant/Fair Brave at this point had defeated Black Brave, an One-Man Army warrior who is believed to be literally invincible.

    Current King
  • Big Bad: As the leader of Brave Kingdom, he is the de facto main villain of the story.
  • Boring, but Practical: His use of pandering the citizens and Braves with money and taxation of the other races through fear tactics and conjuring up ancient laws isn't particularly flashy compare to his predecessor, but as shown with the current state of the Dragons and Demons after the timeskip, it's very effective.
  • Brainy Brunette: He has brown hair, and is a very intelligent person.
  • Evil Old Folks: Implied. As his hair was originally brown before the timeskip.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: He's the only character to sport a pair of round glasses with Opaque Lenses, and is a very pragmatic and greedy person.
  • Only in It for the Money: Unlike his predecessor, he only cares for money, it actually makes him much harder to deal with.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Since his only motivation is profit, he isn't as prone to grabbing Villain Ball as King of War was and his plans are always concerned with maximalizing profits.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: He is adored by the citizens, mostly due to his populist tactics pandering to their Hero Worship of the Braves and Fantastic Racism sentiments.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: Downplayed. Besides his glasses and business-like clothing, the Current King doesn't stand out much in appearance compared to the Old King and the King of War.

    Old King
  • The Good King: Deconstructed. He's shown to be very reasonable and kind to his subjects but is unable to quell their fears and racism against the Demons.

    Interview girl

    First Brave (SPOILERS

  • Accidental Hero: He didn't care for the lives of others being killed or threatened by the Dragons and is happy to have strong enemies to fight. Which, in turn, saved many lives and convince them of the need for strong warriors.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Given his appearance in the opening credits and Despair Brave's likely immortality being seen in a flashback hundreds of years ago, among the First Brave's first followers, it's unknown if he's long dead or still kicking from behind somewhere.
  • Barbarian Hero: He has the appearance of one.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Inverted. He has blue Color Motif but is Nominal Hero Blood Knight.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He's seen in the opening credits before his actual introduction in the fifth episode.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: According to Desire Queen, he's essentially a nobody in a then-peaceful kingdom because there was no need for strong warriors. Then the Dragons came and devasted the kingdom in a Roaring Rampage of Revenge, and the rest is history.
  • Green and Mean: His magic color is green, and unlike Morewant, he's not a Nice Guy.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: His eyes are of cold blue and a vicious Blood Knight.
  • The Nicknamer: An intentional example. When he walks up to the first three dragons, he misheard one of them stating "Meat" as "Dragon", which becomes the official name for the Dragons.
  • Nominal Hero: He only cares for great fights and battles and isn't interested in traditional heroism.
  • One-Man Army: He's capable of fighting and slaying numerous Dragons singlehandedly and forcing the rest to retreat.
  • Our Founder: He became the first Brave and led the first generation into what would later be known as the Brave Kingdom.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His Icy Blue Eyes become hot pink due to the surrounding fire, which only showcases his immense Bloodlust and powerful abilities as a warrior.
  • Red Is Violent: His blue colors become hot pink due to the surrounding fire and it highlights his bloodthirsty personality.
  • Slasher Smile: Constantly wears this as he's finally given the opportunity to let loose his Bloodlust when the Dragons devasted the kingdom.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: He mocks a dragon that's slowly dying from its injuries after singlehandedly defeating them and saving the kingdom.
