Tropes that apply to Dragons in general
  • Fantastic Racism: On the receiving and giving ends in their origins. They were banished from an unnamed kingdom due to the people's fear of their powerful inherent magic. When one of them wanted revenge, an elder tries to dissuade him from doing so, but in a subtle way that sounds less like being the bigger person and more like that revenge is Not Worth Killing against a kingdom of weaker people if his "pathetic mortals" comment is of any indication.
  • Fatal Flaw: Wrath, as seen in their origins. They started off as a group of humans exiled from an unnamed kingdom in fear of their inherent powerful ability to wield magic. As they slowly starve to death in the cold mountains, one of them was full of hate from the mistreatment and banishment and wanted payback for those who were responsible. After accidentally murdering an elder who tried to dissuade him from revenge, which in turn causes nearly everyone else to turn to cannibalism and changed several of their own members into livestock, the man who later grew into an elder, turned his hate against his own people for their actions by turning the livestock into Dragons. When everyone then saw the actual thriving land a mountain away after much suffering beforehand during the decades, the Dragons decided to turn all the hatred they've felt against the unnamed kingdom that banished them in the first place.
  • Mage Species: They were originally a group of humans who can wield powerful magic.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Dragons are separate species from demons but they can cross-breed with humans. Turns out they once were humans, part of a community exiled from their homeland, that turned to cannibalism to survive. They were transformed into gigantic livestock monsters to be consumed by remaining members of said community, until a group appalled by this practice didn't release their hatred, turning them into the dragons they are now.
  • Was Once a Man: They were originally a group of humans wielding powerful magic.

    Dragon Girl/Dragon Brave
  • Action Girl: Dragon Brave can turn into a strong dragon at will and use magic to fight enemies.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She is half-dragon and has monstrous features like fangs and horns. She still looks cute.
  • Cute Little Fangs: She has one fang sticking out of her mouth.
  • Draconic Humanoid: She's a half-dragon, with horns and fangs to showcase her hybrid nature.
  • Fiery Redhead: She has orange hair and tends to be quite emotional.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Dragon Girl is the daughter of Blue Dragon and Dragon Slayer Brave, her existence being attributed to some sort of forbidden magic, though it's more likely possible because Dragons are mutated, humans.
  • Mystical Pregnancy: As seen in the opening of episode 3, Blue Dragon and Dragon Slayer Brave didn't conceive her in a natural way.

    Blue Dragon
  • Didn't See That Coming: She did not expect Dragon Slayer Brave to call her beautiful when they first met.
  • Interspecies Romance: With the human Dragon Slayer Brave. Downplayed as she's somewhat human as well since dragons are mutated humans.
  • Love at First Punch: Her first meeting with Dragon Slayer Brave involves them fighting.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She starts to become attracted to Dragon Slayer Brave after he calls her beautiful and seeks to atone for his previous crusade against the Dragons.

    Dragon Slayer Brave

Fair Brave's student, who made his life's goal hunting down dragons...until he fell in love with Blue Dragon. He is Blue Dragon's Husband and Dragon Girl's father and later Dragon Queen appoints him the new leader of Dragons, in hopes having a human leader will make the Brave Kingdom more likely to negotiate peace with them.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: He finds the whole origins of the Dragons and the Vicious Cycle of revenge with humans ironically funny.
  • Amazon Chaser: One of the reasons why he fell for Blue Dragon.
  • The Atoner: He realized he was wrong to hunt down dragons and works hard to atone for his past actions.
  • Foil: He's one to his former teacher, Fair Brave/Morewant, leading a race of non-humans against his former Kingdom. But unlike Fair Brave, Dragon Slayer Brave has a healthier outlook thanks to his bond with Blue Dragon and their daughter.
  • Heroes Fight Barehanded: This applies to him before and after his Heel–Face Turn.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Blue Dragon. Downplayed as she's somewhat human as well since dragons are mutated humans.
  • Ironic Name: He named himself after the act of slaying Dragons. It was a Meaningful Name up until he has meet Blue Dragon and fell in love with her. Then he fathered a human-dragon child and finally step up to lead Dragons against the Brave Kingdom.
  • Love at First Punch: His first meeting with Blue Dragon involves them fighting and getting his ass handed to him.
  • You Are in Command Now: Is made leader of the Dragons by Dragon Queen in order to negotiate with the Current Brave King.
