Eidolons
Merrilee, the Cheery Sylph
The Cheery Sylph. She is one of the four starter Eidolons, and specializes in Ice Magic, and Healing Magic.
Tropes applying to Merrilee:
- Action Girl: Despite her cutesy appearance, she is more than capable of holding her own in a fight.
- Blue Boy, Pink Girl: With Serif. Completely averted with her third star evolution, in which she takes on a blue color scheme, too.
- Combat Medic: She's able to use healing magic and ice magic.
- Girlish Pigtails: Two long twin-tails that she's very, very proud of.
- An Ice Person: Her offensive magic uses the ice element.
- Love Freak: She won't shut up about it. Ironically, she herself is Oblivious to Love when it comes to Serif.
- Magic Staff: She uses a staff that resembles that used by a Magical Girl.
- Meido: Her alternate costume gives her a sparkling maid costume, complete with a broom replacing her Magic Staff.
- Oblivious to Love: For all of her Love Freak tendencies, she's completely blind to Serif's feelings for her.
- Public Domain Character: She's based off of Eve from Adam and Eve.
- Shout-Out: Her third star evolution is a rather blatant reference to Miku Hatsune.
Serif, the Eternal Youth
The Eternal Youth. He is another of the starter Eidolons, and specializes in lightning magic.
Tropes applying to Serif:
- Badass in a Nice Suit: His alternate costume is a suit, tie, and hat.
- Cannot Spit It Out: He's hopelessly in love with Merrilee, but she's utterly oblivious to it, mostly because of this.
- Cool Helmet: A helmet that is emphasized by his Pointy Ears, which extend all the way over it.
- Public Domain Character: Based off of Adam from Adam and Eve.
- Shock and Awe: Specializes in lightning magic.
Grimm, the Daring Dragon
The Daring Dragon. Another of the starter Eidolons, Grimm is a dragon hatchling that specializes in fire-based attacks.
Tropes applying to Grimm:
- Cool Mask: His third star evolution adds one of these to him.
- Paint It Black: His alternate costume turns him black, and even gives him sparkles.
- Playing with Fire: He's a fire element Eidolon.
Alessa, the Regal Unicorn
The Regal Unicorn. Alessa is another of the starter Eidolons, and specializes in light element attacks.
Tropes applying to Alessa:
Abraxas, the Nova Warrior
Aelius, the Knight of the Sun
The Knight of the Sun. He is Serena's brother, though she holds a grudge against him. He uses fire elemental attacks in combat, as well as healing magic.
Tropes applying to Aelius:
- Anime Hair: Underneath the hood, visible only in his third star evolution.
- The Atoner: He is desperate to earn Serena's forgiveness.
- Combat Medic: He is capable of using healing magic, in addition to fire.
- For Great Justice: He's a stereotypical hero archetype.
- In the Hood: He is usually seen wearing a hood, with Glowing Eyes of Doom.
- Playing with Fire: He uses fire to attack, usually by having his fists Wreathed In Flame.
Alucard, the Dragon Tyrant
The Dragon Tyrant. Nobody is quite sure who he is, or what he is; he was never before seen in the Aura Kingdom, Terra, or Pandemonium. He uses dark magic to deal damage, as well as two swords.
Tropes applying to Alucard:
- All of the Other Reindeer: None of the other Eidolons trust him, and indeed, he doesn't seem to be an Eidolon at all. Even if, for all intents and purposes, he is one.
- Ambiguously Evil: Whether he's good or evil is definitely a matter for debate, even amongst the playerbase.
- Badass Arm-Fold: His default pose.
- Badass Long Robe: Complete with a Classy Cravat, High Collar of Doom, and Purple Is Powerful.
- Bridal Carry: The much-sought-after "Alucard's Allegiance" mount has him doing this.
- Casting a Shadow: He's a dark element Eidolon.
- Dual Wielding: He uses two swords to fight.
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: He has black hair, and he has an Oviously Evil personality.
- Horned Humanoid: His humanoid form sports purple horns.
- Jerkass: He can be quite condescending to the player character, bordering on Teeth-Clenched Teamwork.
- Our Dragons Are Different: He is a dragon, even if he doesn't look like one... usually. He can assume a massive, draconic form, also known as the mount called 'Demir.'
- Pretty Boy: Lampshaded in his description as having a 'debonair' appearance.
- Putting on the Reich: His third star form is a military outfit, complete with an officer's hat.
Astraea, the Goddess of War
Bealdor, the Trampling Thunder
Bealdor, the God of Light
Bel-Chandra, the Empress of Torment
The Empress of Torment. She is a sadist who specializes in lightning magic, and isn't an Eidolon at all, but a demon from Pandemonium who seems to have switched sides.
Tropes applying to Bel-Chandra:
- All of the Other Reindeer: An Eidolon in name only. She's actually a demon from Pandemonium.
- Cool Helmet: One that hides her eyes. All three of them.
- Dark Action Girl: A rare heroic example, insofar as she's an Eidolon that is recruitable by the player.
- Male Gaze: Her model doesn't even try to hide her thong, which shows off her buttocks.
- Our Demons Are Different: She is a demon that functions very much like an Eidolon, in that she can be bound to an Envoy of Gaia.
- Sadist: Her dialogue shows she really gets off on violence, and her Red Baron title even lampshades it.
- Token Evil Teammate: For being on the side of good, she can come off as downright Ax-Crazy at times.
Cesela, the Mistress of Moonshadow
Serena's Evil Twin, and the Mistress of Moonshadow. She represents the dark side of the moon, and actually rather likes Aelius... a lot. She uses dark element spells with a celestial theme.
Tropes applying to Cesela:
- Big Brother Worship: Unlike Serena, she adores Aelius. Maybe even a little too much.
- Cain and Abel: The Cain to Serena's Abel.
- Dark Is Evil: She's practically a Card-Carrying Villain, and uses dark element magic. Despite this, she's, well, an Eidolon, and doesn't actually do anything evil.
- Goth Girls Know Magic: She dresses in Elegant Gothic Lolita, and her primary form of fighting is done through magic.
- Magic Idol Singer: She says she's in a rock band. It might even be the same one Endora is in.
- Ms. Fanservice: She's cute and she knows it. And one of her outfits you can unlock for her is a bathing suit.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: She's not nearly as refined as Serena."You're just trying to piss me off, aren't you?"
- Third-Person Person: She, like Serena, refers to herself in the third person. She also refers to the player character as 'Master' in the third person.
- Villainous Crush: Openly flirts with the player character, and vows to 'steal their heart.'
Cleopawtra, the Panther Pharaoh
Cyril, the Gallant Crusader
Eligos, the Duke of Darkness
Endora, the Midnight Witch
The Midnight Witch, who has a nasty habit of breaking into peoples' dreams. She absolutely loathes Merrillee, mostly because she's incredibly jealous of her for having 'stolen' Serif from her. She uses dark element attacks, and has several cat and pumpkin themes.
Tropes applying to Endora:
- Bratty Half-Pint: Probably the best example of this in the entire game. Everything she says oozes narcissism.
- Casting a Shadow: A dark element Eidolon.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Despite using dark element, she's not Ambiguously Evil like Alucard or Hel. At worst, she's a brat.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Endora loathes Merrillee, mostly because she's the object of Serif's affection.
- Shaking the Rump: Her ultimate attack is called "Scythe Twerk." The tooltip says it's not as sexy as it sounds.
- Stripperiffic: Her Third Star Form swaps her Minidress of Power for a short skirt, and a leathery, skin-tight top that reveals her middriff.
Hel, the Queen of Shadow
The Queen of Shadow. Another demon from Pandemonium, she rules over a plane of Pandemonium known as 'Hellheim,' populated by the souls of the dead. She was also very close to Gram, the Evil Dragon. She uses dark element attacks.
Tropes applying to Hel:
- All of the Other Reindeer: Just like Bel-Chandra, she is an Eidolon in function only; she's a demon from Pandemonium.
- Casting a Shadow: Uses dark element as her primary form of offense.
- Cute Monster Girl: Aside from the fact that she's a Winged Humanoid and has Pointy Ears, she's one of the more humanoid Eidolons in the game.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She was very, very close to Gram before his untimely death, and often mourns his death in her dialogue with the Player Character. Perhaps even doubles as You Bastard!, considering you were (probably) the one who killed him.
- Kick Chick: Her description even lampshades it. She attacks using a flurry of fast kicks.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Especially if you're on the floor of the Sky Tower where she spawns.
- Stripperific: Navel-Deep Neckline? Check. Side Boob? Check. Thong of Shielding? Check. Thigh-high boots? Check. Can someone say Hot as Hell? This gets exaggerated in her Third Star Form.
- The Tease: She flirts with the Player Character on occasion during her dialogue, though she can also mock the player for dying on occasion.
- Winged Humanoid: She has red wings that she uses to hover above the ground.
Gigas, the Iron Titan
Kaizer Zeta, the Blazing Justice
Quelkulan, the Miasmic Serpent
Kotonoha, the Nine-Tailed Vixen
The Nine-Tailed Vixen, who can take the form of a nine-tailed fox, but usually appears as an incredibly beautiful woman. She is a light elemental Eidolon who can also heal the player character.
Tropes applying to Kotonoha:
- Combat Medic: One of the best healing Eidlons in the game once you unlock her third star buff. One of her passives even gives you a Life Drain effect!
- Fantastic Arousal: Heavily implied that touching her ears can do this to her. She gets incredibly flustered every time you ask if you can touch them.
- Light 'em Up: She uses light elemental magic, and one of her offensive abilities has an added Damage Over Time effect.
- Little Bit Beastly: She has large bunny-like ears, even though she's based off of the Tamamo no Mae.
- Ms. Fanservice: She has an Impossible Hourglass Figure, and her usual form has a lot of cleavage. Her third-star form ups the ante with a short skirt, and then her unlockable outfit is a swimsuit.
Serena, the Moonlight Maiden
The Moonlight Maiden, and Aelius' little sister, though she absolutely loathes him and refuses to forgive him. She's one of the oldest Eidolons, and ride around on a floating Crescent Moon. She uses light elemental magic, and can also heal the player character.
Tropes applying to Serena:
- Bragging Rights Reward: Aside from Bribing Your Way to Victory, she only spawns in Otherworld Dungeons, and is notoriously stingy about dropping her key fragments.
- Little Miss Badass: Don't let her childish appearance fool you; she can kick some serious ass, especially in her third star form. Her passive buffs are also extremely useful for tanks.
- Pimped-Out Dress: Very frilly, and covered in ribbons.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: She may be very friendly towards the player character, but once she gets angry...
- Ship Tease: Openly flirts with the player character (regardless of gender), and will even admit to having a crush on them in her dialogue.
- Star Power: All of her spells have this theme, though they're light-element.
- Third-Person Person: Refers to herself and the player character (whom she refers to as 'Master') in the third person.
- Unusual Ears: Bunny Ears, to be exact. She also has a bunny tail hidden behind her hair.
